[6.0] "A show that goes by fast but not a great wrestling show. Of the five matches on the card only one is noteworthy. The main event is fine but the opener and tag match are not good. Owen vs Pillman is barely a match as well, the first part is comedy and we only get the interference finish after a commercial break. The two Shawn Michaels/Undertaker segments could've easily been just one and Shawn's presence in the main event actively detracts from the match. Even the most lauded segment of the show was a bit underwhelming and not one of the best Austin segments, I thought both the Slaughter and JR stunner segments were more entertaining."

[10.0] "This was an iconic episode of Raw that pretty much had everything that made most of the 1997 shows hold up so well for me with really good wrestling, legendary moments and the storylines getting all the focus are great to watch play out. This was still building the terrific Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels Hell in a Cell feud with some great moments with them where DX attacked Undertaker with a steel chair on the ramp and Taker would later get his revenge when DX and the Hart Foundation start brawling after the main event and stand tall to end a really chaotic and eventful show. This show is most remembered for the segment where Austin gives Vince McMahon the stunner for the first time, which was the very beginning of one of the biggest feuds in wrestling history and the excellent long awaited arrival of Cactus Jack where he has a great Hardcore match with HHH! It was also the first Raw ever hosted at MSG, and it stands out as one of the best shows ever done at that arena where the crowd was hot for everything that happened! There's a decent Bret Hart vs Goldust match in there and the Owen Hart vs Brian Pillman farce was hilarious as well."

[7.0] "This was an eventful Raw with two exciting things happening in the same episode (Austin stunning Vince for the first time and Cactus Jack's WWF debut against Helmsley). Those two things saved this show aside from some of the underwhelming aspects (ie. HBK being the master politician and this being Brian Pillman's last Raw before the untimely end of his life). Other than that, this was actually a great episode."

[9.0] "The show has its highs and lows. However, the highs are much higher than the lows are low. Everything involving Austin is gold with iconic first Stunner to McMahon. The HBK and Undertaker stuff is excellent. Cactus Jack's debut vs HHH was a super fun hardcore brawl. Strong closing brawl. Everything else ranges from meh to bad but honestly, who really cares?"

[10.0] "Yes, it was a historic episode of Raw, and it is also really good in quality with a hot MSG crowd all the way. Stone Cold's rebel character continues to ignore the restraining order that Owen Hart has against him, in order to get payback over SummerSlam. Austin also stuns McMahon for the 1st time and proceeds to get arrested. Cactus Jack makes his WWF debut to beat Triple H. The end of the show sees a brawl with DX and The Hart Foundation, with Undertaker standing tall at the end."

[10.0] "One of the best Raw episodes so far and I think forever. Undercard is like on the good Attitude Era show - short but cool matches. Undertaker/Michaels segment is also pretty good. Then it's one of the most iconic segments in wrestling history. Stone Cold stunners Mr. McMahon. It's not the beginning of their feud but it is awesome preview. And another iconic moment shortly after this, debut of Cactus Jack. One of the most underrated debuts. Match vs Helmsley is great too. The first really HARDCORE match in WWF. Main event is also pretty good. Cool brawl is a perfect way to end the show. 10 out of 10."

[10.0] "The right show to enter almost officially in the Attitude Era. The 'debut' of Cactus Jack is a perfect moment, his match with Triple H is fantastic. The Intercontinental Tournament is enjoyable, better than many tournaments. The Stunner on Vince McMahon is the beginning of something greater that goes on for years. The real surprise is to see The Rock lose in less than five minutes to Johnson. A perfect episode of Raw."

[10.0] "One of the most monumental Monday Night Raws in history. This was the Raw episode that changed the course of WWF and unofficially started the Attitude Era. You had Cactus Jack making his debut on WWF tv. Dx before they even had the name of Dx attacking Bret Hart and starting the rivalry with the Hart Foundation and most importantly Stone Cold stunning Vince McMahon for the first time. Set this in the worlds most famous arena, Madison Square Garden in my hometown of NY and you have maybe the most important and history making episodes ever."

[10.0] "Best episode of Raw from the year 1997 which says a lot. Steve Austin stuns McMahon for the first time and Cactus Jack makes his debut. Brian Pillman has made gold out of a terrible storyline with Goldust and Marlena. Kind of disappointed in Goldust though, he seems really out of shape and this was really his first time to shine as a face and is kind of struggling. The Rock became INSTANTLY over by turning heel and joining the Nation."
