[4.0] "What a lame way to celebrate 30th years of the biggest weekly show in wrestling history. Like usual, some random legends being shown in camera and reunion segments we've seen over and over again. If it wasn't for the legends, the random pictures in the middle of the show and the RAW is WAR logo, it doesn't differ from a regular show. Taker segment with LA Knight and Bray Wyatt is the best legend segment in the show, and is nothing spectacular. Main event and Sonya vs Bianca are some of the worst matches I've seen since Triple H took over. But let's keep negativity aside and let's praise the few good points this show had. The Trial of Sami Zayn was a hell of a segment and is going to be remembered as one of the best in WWE history, the RAW Tag Titles match was awesome, solid In-Ring work and amazing storytelling. Imperium vs Rollins and the Profits was also a nice match."

[9.0] "Hogan welcomed the audience for the celebration of Raw's 30 years but there was business to be settled as Sami's court trial kicked off the night. The whole prosecution by Heyman, Zayn's choked response & a surprise defence from Jey added supreme layers to the already exceptionally crafted story of The Bloodline. It followed up by a superb title match against Judgment Day which had the result in doubt since the announcement of it. The split defense of the gold recently means that we have new champs on the horizon despite a clear image. Knight's call out was answered by the iconic American Badass, The Undertaker to a great surprise and it was Bray Wyatt who shared an intricate, yet immaculate moment followed by Imperium interrupting DX & Angle. Three of Hunter's top guns in Rollins & Street Profits evened the odds in a fun stand-off & a better fun exhibition. From there, the show met its dip with Charlotte's meaningless cameo, the Bianca/Sonya debacle & the cut-off of the highly hyped Becky/Bayley cage war for the above. It's still frustrating to see even though it happened days ago! However, the main event summed it up as a cool brawling sprint with a great cap-off of Lesnar wreaking Lashley's dreams once again. As much as the Rumble is on the horizon, this show had nothing to do with it after a strong build. The theme was different, and it was handled exceptionally well. Legends were greatly utilized where some of them were embedded in fun altercations that became memorable additions to the year's best moments listing. I had a lot of fun throughout the show without a feel of boredom and I hope the road to WrestleMania leads the same way."

[5.0] "Really disappointing. I can't imagine how it can be so slow and rushed at the same time. The Bloodline segment is only held together by Sami and emotion, but buries Paul Hayman's character. Many legends reappeared and didn't play any importance. Audience were completely off on all the matches. ANOTHER Brock Lesnar's appearances, F-off... Unlike recent Smackdown shows, this one totally felt like it was written by Vince McMahon all over again. I can't say enough about how the entire women's division was completely unimportant in the end and is the worst part of all of that. But just imagine, if they hold the Roman's appreciation ceremony here and forced all the legends to bow to their tribal chief, especially Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan, and then Kevin Owens would come out and beat all the Bloodline, saving the legends, how much it would raise interest in their match and smoothly transition into the story with the court, which would have been much better thought through... Or at least let WALTER destroy Kurt Angle during his match. I don't think anyone would mind it."

[8.0] "That 1st hour of Raw with Sami & the bloodline was probably some of the best TV WWE has produced in a while, the undertaker segment was solid as well. The legends involvement on this show was much better than the past, the DX segment with Imperium being the perfect example. It's always nice to see Brock comeback, and the only huge downside to this show was not getting the cage match."

[10.0] "Genuinely the best Raw they've had in AGES. The 10 is a bit generous, but I'll give it. The Trial of Sami Zayn is one of my favorite WWE segments ever, then followed up with a very good tag team match that only added to that story. There were some things that I disliked, mainly the Steel Cage match fake out. I don't care what the reason that is being reported. Time cutting or not, cut something else. Cut the Title match short and run out Brock. You don't fake out a Cage match that people paid to see, DX coming out right after that was just the added kick in the balls. Although a fun segment, and loved the use of legends to set up the 6-Man, it only added to the feeling of losing the Cage match, to instantly see Triple H walk out. That was the big one, but the first hour was stellar, the rest pretty good. Much better than Raw 25, not as good as Raw 1000."

[2.0] "This show was way overhyped and felt like Vince wrote it. The cage match fake out, pandering to legends, and Brock interrupting the main event. This show did little to build my hype for the Royal Rumble."
GimliJr wrote on 25.01.2023:
[8.0] "Putting aside the appearance of the racist Hogan, the first hour was a real treat. Some star power, a very good opener (but stop making partner changes during the match and even in general) and some outstanding moments like this Tribal Court. The rest of the show is a step below and the booking of the women can be questioned when we see the lack of interest of the 3 v 3 match. Brock's return puts some light on the US title, even if the rivalry should probably keep Lashley away from the title. 8/10."
Ben Branson wrote on 25.01.2023:

MilkDDT wrote on 25.01.2023:
[8.0] "Tremendous first hour of Raw. Undoubtedly one of the best hours of television WWE has produced. The Bloodline added yet another memorable and engaging segment to their brilliantly crafted storyline, followed by a well-booked tag match that played off the new developments. Wyatt/Knight/Undertaker segment was a fun display of characters and their auras. Unfortunately the second and third hours struggled to keep up. While I enjoyed the DX/Angle portion of the show as well as the six man tag, the rest ranged from average to unsatisfactory. Cutting the Becky/Bayley match was especially disappointing. There were still ultimately enough high points overall to deem this episode a great watch though."

[7.0] "the first hour of this show was fantastic, the best i've seen in years. the work from all 5 members of the Bloodline was incredible and this is easily the most compelling storyline in modern day wrestling. the Taker/Wyatt/Knight stuff was cool and didn't go on for too long. the 6 man tag was pretty fun. this was definitely the hottest WWE crowd in a long time, despite dying down in the second half. cutting the cage match was a nonsensical decision. if they were really short on time, they should've cut some of the segments or Bianca/Sonya, that match was terrible. the main event felt rushed and saw a predictable Brock return. hopefully this third match between them finally hits. overall, this was a decent Raw but lackluster for how anticipated it was."
eBento wrote on 25.01.2023:

[6.0] "There have been better and worste special show. Too long promos and normal matches. The trios match deserved a few more minutes and the steel cage didn't deserve to be cut. Indecent treatment for women , nothing legends , nothing matches over 10 minutes . Where is the story of Wwe's Women's Division? Where is the women's revolution ? The face-to-face between Taker and Bray was nice, luckily it was fast, Lesnar's arrival at the end of the show was predictable."

[5.0] "The usual boring RAW, but this time we looked at the legends. There was only one normal match, the rest didn't come out well. Shows like this should have a sense of celebration, but in recent years there hasn't been that feeling."

[9.0] "Imma be honest, I had low expectations, WWE special episodes are usually really bad and I wasn't the biggest fan of Triple H's booking, not that it was worse than Vince's, far from that, it was improving but it still wasn't good for me, but this episode blew me away, the first hour might be one of the best first hours in recent memories, the trial was stupendous, and the match that followed, although short, was beautifully put together, the bloodline storyline is now the highlight of Raw, the crowd was pretty hot during this episode, they're not AEW hot but it was nice to hear them just a little bit, but they're still cold, LA knight's promo was fun although him being choked out by undertaker was a bit too much, and the Bray Wyatt interaction was fun, Imperium disrupting DX was fun, the tag match was very house show and fun, and the main event was fine I guess, overall very enjoyable episode of Raw, the first hour was magnificent and the rest was either filler or fine and harmless in both cases"
Derek Joists wrote on 24.01.2023:
[4.0] "So the Bloodline stuff, both story and match, was great, but then everything went downhill. Having a bait-and-switch on the cage match, and effectively one on the main event, did not make for great entertainment, and overall there was just far too little wrestling. Ultimately a mediocre tribute to 30 years of Raw, although a reminder that bad swerves, mediocre stories and relatively little quality wrestling are more the norm than the exception for the show."

[5.0] "I was originally going to give this show a 6 since there were STILL plenty of fun highlights to enjoy (like the awesome DX + Kurt Angle/ + Imperium + Seth Rollins + Street Profits + Teddy Long segment for example). However, I came out of this show feeling very frustrated in the end. First of all, OF COURSE Brock Lesnar comes back to destroy Bobby Lashley and Austin Theory because God forbid that he does anything else besides squashing/dominating the current roster 8.5+ years later. Lesnar better stay away from the Men's Rumble match this Saturday. He's already ruined 2 of them personally for me. Second, what was the WHOLE point of the Usos vs Judgment Day taking place for the Raw Tag titles if the Usos/Bloodline were JUST going to retain them anyway? You might as well should've just advertised Usos vs Judgment Day for BOTH tag titles if there were never any plans of a championship change in the first place. At least, I would've been much less frustrated/furious since I would have expected the Usos to retain beforehand. Lastly, I genuinely do NOT care how much folks enjoyed the opening segment (which I mostly disliked by the way). That Bloodline/Sami Zayn segment had absolutely NO business going 30+ minutes because it pretty much just robbed Becky Lynch and Bayley from getting time with their Steel Cage match. That is completely indefensible and inexcusable. They could've cut 50-60% of the whole Bloodline segment, and people STILL would've enjoyed it in the end. The overhyped storyline with the Bloodline being pushed strongly at the expense of everyone else (such as Judgment Day failing to win despite having the 4v3 advantage over them + the ppv CHALLENGER, Kevin Owens having 3+ minutes of TV time versus Roman Reigns's 30+ minutes last night + Becky Lynch plus Bayley getting their Steel Cage time cut from the show) is a big reason why this interminable angle is FAR from being the "best thing going in wrestling today." Plus, you got to love how Bianca Belair must shoehorn herself into the Charlotte Flair vs Sonya Deville feud. Bianca made Sonya look even weaker by completely dominating her way to victory in a meaningless singles match before Sonya even gets to challenge Charlotte again in an inevitable rematch for the world title. Anyway, some of the other segments were fun, and the most of the matches were really good; but those MAJOR negatives from the show last night pretty much killed my enthusiasm for Raw. Seriously, imagine cutting TV time from 2 of the best women on Raw with an advertised Steel Cage match on a HISTORIC Raw episode just so the Bloodline can hog 33% of the TV time in a 3-HOUR SHOW. Hopefully, this unbearable storyline ends in 2+ months. This show was extremely disappointing with all of the hype beforehand."

[3.0] "Watched RAW for the first time in awhile. I have to say, the Sami Zayn/Bloodline stuff was pretty entertaining. After that... That's where things really fell apart for me. The LA Knight/Bray/Undertaker stuff was not very good, outside of the opening tag, I didn't really enjoy any of the matches. Speaking of matches... FOUR matches in a 3 hour show? WHAT! ? Absurd. We didn't even get the cage match that was advertised, which is old WWE habits. I don't know... Most of the nostalgia stuff did nothing for me and came off as really lame. After a splendid January of Japanese wrestling and AEW, this show just really fell flat. My opinion of RAW wasn't able to change much since I stopped watching it last time."

All the Raw 30 nostalgia segments were skippable, Bianca/Sonya was a nothing match that didn't really add anything, the Steel Cage match not happening was a let down and the Main Event was pretty weak as well. 5/10 overall and thats just on the strenghts of the first part"

[6.0] "Match quality was not very high on this show. Opener was very good with a simple to follow story and a hot crowd for the sami tag. (***1/2). The 6 man tag really should have been a lot better considering the names involved. Not much happened and it didnt really get out of 2nd gear. (**3/4). Bianca Sonya was a nothing match with a stupid premise to it anyways (*) Main event was not very good, not any structure to it at all clearly just waiting for brock to come out. Ending made sense even if it was abrupt. (**1/4) Show was more just about the fun nostalgia aspect. The trial of sami zayn is segment of the year so far. Fantastic work by everyone. Poker stuff was dumb. DX stuff was fun for what it was. Cool to see undertaker kind of pass the torch to bray wyatt (8 years too late). All in all a mixed bag of a show but the hot crowd made it seem better than it actually was. Also cutting becky bayley was bullshit"

I say this crowd because it's amazing how dead they were for the rest of the show, including the actual wrestling, Show fell off a cliff after The Bloodline left the episode. Cutting the cage match is inexcusable."

Kurt Angle and D-X segment was funny, especially putting over not fighting GUNTHER. Point lost for the Steel Cage match not happening. Should have squashed Sonya instead. i also wish they had atleast one legend compete in a match but thats just me."

[9.0] "This show was rolling at full ten for the first couple hours, until Sonya Deville showed up and ground everything to a halt with her standard "I deserve a title shot" claim before being beaten in the ring. It's pointless and goes nowhere and keeps happening for some reason (check the matchguide rating to see how bad her match with Bianca was). The promos and introductions during the show were spectacular including Kurt Angle coming out with DX which eventually lead to a great six-man tag match with Seth Rollins and the Street Profits vs. Imperium. The Trial of Sami was great (Jey Uso, big props) and The Undertaker got a nice return that looks to tie him into the Bray Wyatt storyline. The other weak spot in the night was the cage match between Becky Lynch and Bayley that didn't actually take place, as Damage Control attacked Becky before the match could start. Using a steel cage to advertise a match that you don't actually put on, as a company, is bullshit and if I were only grading the card this would've lowered the score significantly. This shows rating doesn't suffer as much since the matches we did get to see (except Sonya's) were solid."
IcehandGino wrote on 24.01.2023:
[8.0] "Most of the episode was great, Sami's Trial segment is already a favorite for being the best of the year, the tag match was so chaotic and they used legends the right way, RAW Reunion felt like a series finale, RAW XXX felt like a love letter from old generation to new generation. But the commercial free first hour came at the cost of a very oddly paced third hour. And if that rumor about Becky/Bayley being cut is true, that's really a stupid decision, they had way less interesting things to either nix or shorten. I know that some people will defend it saying that's better to get the full match on a future episode instead of having it shortened, but that was a special occasion RAW, it's like when they postponed Zelina's tag match to the week after the 9/11 SmackDown."

Bray deserved this moment tonight. also the bloodline segment was perfect. Amazing stuff. The throwback segments and the long talky bits served a purpose. But when you fail to deliver a big match that should have been the show's high point, like just COMPLETELY WIPE IT OUT, that's a hard show to get behind. Nice to see some of those old faces. It's definitely a Vince McMahon trait, when something overruns, the women suffer. Did we need to have that inferior Belair/Deville match? Yes, trotting out some of the big names from the past was the draw of this show, and of course using Hogan and Flair is telling given who's back in charge, but no Austin and no Rock were the real tell-tale signs. At least the safety blanket Brock Lesnar showed up. If it wasn't for the Bloodline/Judgment Day match, I'd have savaged this episode even more."
