[4.0] "I've seen worse shows but I don't think I've ever seen anything quite so boring besides WrestleMania 42 Night 1 but at least that had decent wrestling. On this show the best you can hope for is mediocrity. Morgan vs Daniels, Styles vs Nash and Angle vs Foley are what would usually be the low point of any show but on this night the mere inclusion of a good wrestler being in each of these matches prevent them from being the drizzling shits. Daniels, Styles and Angle are the lifeblood of this brand in 2009. Most other matches are ok until they trip over the finish line which is absolutely baffling. Magnus botching his finish I can forgive, shit happens but the tag titles match and Sting vs Samoa Joe were absolutely massacred in the finish, reeking of laziness and incompetence. Lastly there's the infamous Sharmell vs Jenna Morasca match. Probably the second to worst match I've ever seen only because it had a finish and some semblance of a plan unlike Butterbean vs Minoru Suzuki. That being said it's probably the best part of the show. It is at least so fundamentally awful that it's engaging unlike literally everything else on the card. If you're gonna fail, fail hard. This isn't the worst show I've ever seen but it's probably one of my least favorites"

[2.0] "The best thing I can say about Victory Road is that at least it wasn't quite as bad as WCW Uncensored '95. That makes it, as best I can recall, the second worst PPV I've ever seen (Heroes of Wrestling at least had Too Cold Scorpio vs Julio Fantastico to bring it up just a bit). One obvious handicap was the absence of the X-Division, as Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles were tied up wrestling two lazy giants on the show. There was not one match that I would even call average here, some insidious energy energy sapping generally talented performers of their energy in an endless series of poor matches, including the infamously bad (yet unintentionally hilarious) Jenna Morasca vs Sharmell. With a show like this on its record, it's a mystery how TNA managed to survive to still exist today."

[2.0] "Victory Road 2009 is considered one of the worst TNA pay-per-view of all-time and it is for a very damn good reason. The matches were quite mediocre but there was the legendary bad match between Sharmell and Jenna Morasca. Someone in TNA thought that putting two untrained women in a PPV match was a genius idea and it was absolutely abysmal. The Main Event Mafia was being pushed as the dominant heel faction which meant they were going to win all the championships for the heat. I honestly lost interest in the faction after Samoe Joe turned heel and helped Kurt Angle win the TNA Championship last month and seeing my favorites getting beaten by the MEM was quite annoying. I think this show was the push that caused the ball to roll down the mountain as TNA was slowly stripping away what made them stand out. Just not a fun pay-per-view to watch at.all."

[2.0] "Unarguably the weakest major TNA show of 2009, it's certainly a bad experience, but it is in no way worst-of-all-time bad. It's just a show where every match's ceiling was "mediocre", that also happened to include one of the most hilariously hideous matches of all time. MOTN goes to Sting vs. Samoa Joe for being slightly less average while special mention goes to Sharmell vs. Morasca for being monumentally bad."

[2.0] "I'm not sure, as it has occasionally been said, that this is the worst show ever or anything. The thing about Victory Road 2009 is that nothing truly angering or outrageous really happened, other than the diabolical Jenna Morasca match - but all of it was just mediocre at best. There is a pervasive miasma of suck here that makes it deeply boring all the way through. Honestly, it could have used a few more comedy car wreck moments of truly appalling booking, when mostly it's just mediocre-bad wrestling all the way through with no peaks and nothing worthwhile. The Dudleys looked back, AJ Styles couldn't do anything with Nash, Beer Money were wasted with an immobile late-career Scott Steiner, and even Sting and Samoa Joe put up an inexplicable stinker. This is not, I think, the worst of TNA, but it is certainly emblematic of the things that made TNA the long-running IWC joke it would become."

The MOTN was Styles with one of the more blatant carries I've seen against Nash to get a whelming 5/10 match out of him - that was the peak, everything else was worse! The infamous Sharmell match was only 6 minutes, at least, so I'd sooner rewatch that than anything else. Stevie's crimson mask and the taser spot, Styles/Nash being decent, a nonsense Booker T interview, and The Beautiful People existing are among the mild highlights that scrape 2 points out of a sea of boring lifeless matches."
