[8.0] "I have found NXT since Stand & Deliver and especially since In Your House this year to be mostly quite bad. It's had no groove and just hasn't felt like it was worth watching. This episode however was very good viewing. Good action throughout, the opener especially being fantastic, and also good, logical storyline progression. The surprise of Sonya Deville was a welcome one, and next week seems to be stacked due to clash with both AEW, major sports games and of course the Vince documentary on Vice."
[4.0] "An excellent Nathan Frazer vs Axiom match, but not much else of note. NXT feels like it's in a weird transition from the awful 2.0 era to the revamped black & yellow, and as a result, the shows lack identity right now."
[7.0] "Huh, I thought the overall score for this NXT episode is harsh, and I'm someone who doesn't really like the NXT 2.0 direction too. I thought the match with Axiom vs Nathan Frazer was awesome/great! The Triple Threat tag match was really good, and the main event with Ilja Dragunov vs Grayson Waller was a good main event as well. Sonya Deville making her NXT return by helping out Toxic Attraction take out Kay Lee Ray was a really pleasant surprise. Overall, I think these highlights alone deserve a 7 rating from me regarding this NXT episode."
[4.0] "A better show than last week's calamity. Axiom vs Frazer was a great match, but the wrong man won. I also thought Lee vs Stacks was decent for the time it got, unfortunately though, Lee overshot his finisher, with even Booker exclaiming "he didn't get all of it", shame they didn't improvise because it didn't look good. Ultimately though, there were 8 matches on the show with only 3 going over 4 minutes with most of the matches being poor, although, Jacy Jayne screaming "you're nothing Kay Lee" at the currently named 'Alba Fyre' made me laugh, I guess all of the abysmal fire references that poor KLR has had to spew out over the last several weeks have gone straight over Jayne's head. I also popped pretty big for the appearance of Sonya Deville who aided Toxic Attraction in beating down KLR, putting her through the announcers table no less. Sonya also cut a great promo later in the show, it's a shame she wasn't here from the start in place of Mandy Rose, Sonya would have been a great and more believable champion. Elsewhere, I thought the Diamond Mine segment was unintentionally hilarious, the diabolical acting, the music, Roddy in that neck brace and hospital gown, too funny. Kiana James wants to destroy Chase University which means I like her even more now. Cora Jade was interviewed backstage and said about 1000 words in a minute, she's getting no better on the mic, but I am interested to see who she and Roxanne will bring in from Raw & Smackdown to face the other. Overall though, a great match, a decent 3 minute match with a bad finish, alongside 6 short and/or poor matches, that is not good enough in my book and I'm not happy with Dragunov's booking, he should be booked stronger. On the brighter side, I got some enjoyment out of some of the segments and post-match shenanigans, so it wasn't a bad episode, certainly better than last week and certainly better than the previous night's Raw."
[5.0] "Middle of the line episode of NXT. Axiom vs. Frazer was very good and carried the rest of the show to this rating with some help from the three-way tag match and the main event. Lots of rough promos and matches otherwise. Apollo Crews is possessed by Chucky, the doll. Roderick Strong delivered an awful promo with small-town community theatre-level acting. Sonya Deville is back. Cora Jade might be the worst promo in the company right now in a company that employs Dominik! Chucky Crews spun the wheel with his telekinesis powers to distract Grayson Waller. All in all could've been a lot better but was better than some of the dross they put out earlier in the year."
[7.0] "Mostly a setup show this week with Halloween Havoc coming up, and Booker T is very much a step down from Wade Barrett on commentary. Axiom and Nathan Frazer had the match of the night, very much in the style of the older NXT than what 2.0 was. Next week looks to be loaded up with main roster stars to go up against AEW Dynamite moving nights for a week, including Sonya Deville showing up this week to attack Alba Fyre on behalf of Mandy Rose."
[3.0] "I have not watched NXT in years, I would watch the occasional show back in the squash match golden era but none since then, as I could not sleep I decided to check this out. My main takeaway was, who is this aimed at? Like what demographic are they trying to get? You get a mix of some very high level wrestlers (Ilja) pretty fun on their day lads (Axiom and Bron) and a bunch of just incredibly green workers who might get decent in 10 years if they work hard and listen to the right people. Much of the roster seemed to have taken more time to plan the choreography on their entrance than how they actually work once the bell rings. The commentary team had a guy called Vic Joseph who I have never heard of but was decent, Booker T being Booker T. JD McWhatever joined them for the first match, of course anyone who has googled Jordan Devlin Speaking Out knew he would be decent talking and so it was here. On top of that, the presentation is just so awful. Who is watching this? Who hurt you?"
