"Yes, finally. This felt like a good old (modern) NJPW big time autumn-show. I honestly didn't think they would be able to get back to this point until cheering crowds were back in full, but there ya go. All the big matches delivered and the card was set up very nicely. I used to not like jr. title matches going on first on big shows, but this was such a nice break from the slow start to most big shows since lockdown began. Big thumbs up."

[8.0] "Really strong show from NJPW, great main event lots of good tag matches, strong opener, would be higher if I liked the FTR vs UE match more"

[8.0] "A very successful show without unnecessary matches and only with important results, this is a reference PPV where everything was in place, from wrestling to stories and of course with intrigue and future confrontations. IWGP United States Heavyweight Title Match turned out to be the best and one of the best this year and of course you just need to look at it and cry with happiness that we live with them at the same time. 4 Third-party showdowns around the Junior title just in one show became the hottest and now it's really interesting to see what will happen on WK. Zack/Ren Narita what you need to open a new title for TV. Hikuleo - thank you for winning so quickly. As a result, a show that everyone will definitely like and I boldly advise it and will advise it for a very long time and actively!"

[8.0] "IWGP Junior Tag Title Match: Great way to start the show (***3/4), United Empire vs Finlay, Tanahashi, Zayne & Yano: Was a okay match (**3/4), Hikuleo vs Takahashi: Not much to say (DUD), Narita vs SANADA: Good match, Narita winning was a good outcome (***), ZSJ vs EVIL: despite being a short match, was still decent (**1/4), Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Match: Decent enough (***), Okada & Tonga vs BC: Okay match (**3/4), Tag Title Match: Great match, thoroughly enjoyed it (****), US Heavyweight Title Match: MOTN (****3/4). Shota Umino challenging Ospreay to end the show was shocking but can't wait to see it."

[7.0] "What a wonderful end to this tour that creates so much excitement for what's to come. The main event alone was worth it, but adding in FTR, the Jr tag match, the Jr tag team title match, it all worked so well together."

[8.0] "A great show from New Japan to close out the Battle Autumn '22 Tour. There was plenty of good storytelling, higher quality matches, a title defense from FTR in Japan, and a main event that was an easy 5-Star match with Ospreay v. Naito."

[8.0] "The hype made me watch the first full NJPW card since WrestleKingdom shit the bed and I may watch more often if it produces like this. Everything on the undercard was good to great and a cracking main event. The ZSJ match was very funny too."

[9.0] "One of NJPW's best shows from top to bottom in 2022. This show really set the stage of the guard changing in NJPW to focus more young talent, something they have desperately needed to do since the pandemic. Great way to get people excited for Wrestle Kingdom."

[8.0] "This was a very eventful show, but to me the most important thing was that it felt big, especially last three matches - this is exactly what NJPW needs as Tokyo Dome show on January 4th isn't that far away, only ~2 months from now. For a ~4hour long show this was a very easy watch, not a single match overstayed it's welcome and felt like it served a purpose, which is why I wouldn't just say 'watch Naito/Ospreay and that's it'."

[7.0] "NJPW continue to laugh off "iCe CoLd" claims by putting on strong shows like this, which had many good matches and a great main-event. Akira & TJP vs Bushi & Titan was a really good, with everyone showing a great deal of slickness, energy, and impact, and their chemistry was mostly extremely polished with all their spots and interactions. ***1/2. The United Empire 8-man tag was a decent showcase with a good pace and with especially fun work from Zayne and Aussie Open. **3/4. Hikuleo vs Yujiro was a fine but generic monster squash, with Hikuleo getting over strong as intended. NR. Sanada vs Narita was really good, featuring strong chemistry and creativity in all their exchanges. Both Sanada's agility and Narita's selling/bumping were especially strong. Their later counters were extremely smooth and even more creative, especially as they teased running out the clock. ***1/2. Sabre vs Evil was quite short but fun for its time, featuring lots of silly but yet entertaining shenanigans plus some genuinely exciting interactions in the finishing stretch. NR. Desperado & Wato vs Hiromu & Ishimori was really good. They explored the cliched "can they co-exist? " narrative really well as they previewed their WK 4-way. All showed really good energy, agility, and chemistry, and it was extra interesting whenever the internal team tensions caused the match to break down into a pure 4-way. The various tag spots themselves were always really good, too. ***1/2. Okada & Tama vs Jay & Kenta was quite good. Jay and Kenta were both good with their standard heel work/tactics alongside their impactful attacks, while Okada had his smooth signature offence and great confidence and Tama had his slick offence and fiery babyface work. Some especially really good interactions in the final few minutes. ***1/4. FTR vs Cobb & O-Khan was quite good but a disappointing first Japanese appearance for the champs. The fans weren't familiar enough with them to properly buy into their face-in-peril segments, and their eventual comeback thus wasn't super compelling either. Their work was still good all-around, and met with impressive effortless strength-displays from Cobb and good strikes from O-Khan, but the match otherwise wasn't that special. ***1/4. Ospreay vs Naito was weaker than their 1st match but obviously still great. Naito's neck-targeting was impressively varied and had great impact, met with strong real-time and long-term selling from Ospreay. Ospreay's displays of power were also great, and his various agile movements were all perfectly executed. All their big spots and rapid trades/counters ended up being really creative and fantastically executed, though I did struggle with how no-sell-y they became towards the end. ****. Shota's post-match return was cool. I'm still not fully sold on him as a future star, but he showed really good charisma, and I'm hoping he proves me wrong now that he's back and getting a bit of a push."

[8.0] "Great show from New Japan, a return to form in a sense. Some fresh match ups and fun matches like Hikuleo demolishing House of Torture and the entertaining Zack Sabre Jr-EVIL match. Main event and the junior title preview match were fantastic. Nothing bad on this show."

[9.0] "A fantastic NJPW show like we hadn't seen in a long time. There were no bad matches (I'm not couting Hikuleo vs Pimp that was basically not even a match), lots of great ones, hilarious moments in that ZSJ vs EVIL match / in the ''can they coexist tag'' and of course a MOTY contender main event. I'm HYPED for Wrestle Kingdom and for the Stardom/NJPW X-Over show."

[9.0] "NJPW's top to bottom best show of the year. Amazing undercard with the surprise package being the "Incredible Tag Team Match" which defied expectations and told a fabulous story. The main event was another Ospreay epic to add to his unbelievable 2022. Fun opening Jr. tag, a strong FTR defence, the two TV Tournament matches were great, especially ZSJ/EVIL. The resurgence of Shota Umino in Japan, now with the "Roughneck" persona caps off the show!"

[9.0] "One of the best NJPW shows in a long, long time. Highly entertaining. The only show I can think of that matches this would be the G1 Finals. I really hope this is NJPW turning the corner getting back to its pre-pandemic momentum."

[9.0] "This was probably the best New Japan show this year outside of the G1. There were three great tag matches, each one very different from each other, and there was an incredible main event in Ospreay vs Naito. Even the Hikuleo vs Yujiro match delivered by being a total squash rather than an awful House of Torture match. Just about everything else was good as well, and the return of Umino to Japan was a great way to close the show."

[10.0] "Fantastic night of wrestling. Throughout the pandemic, NJPW's undercards have struggled the most, but here we got some great matches especially Narita/SANADA and the Incredible Tag Team match. Naito/Ospreay delivered as expected in a MOTY candidate. Even Yujiro/Hikuleo was a great short angle. The only disappointment was the return of Shota Umino, as I imagine some were hoping for a bigger name at the end."
