I say this unironically, and as someone who has disliked Jeff Jarrett since 1989 USWA, his and Lethal's series with the Acclaimed have been some of my all time favorite matches. This match in particular was just perfect. The Baddies match was great to watch, with Cargill's spot of her career. Starks over Jericho and Allin over Joe were great too. Just all you want from a TV show."

[8.0] "Starks & Jericho kicked off the festivities with a charismatic clash of styles that gave the vibe of an old-school showdown. The story is about to continue b/w Starks, Andretti & JAS which keeps on building up to a fun confrontation. Hangman provided his health status, Moxley interfered and let him know what to expect at the LA show in an intense way just like their former face-offs. The Acclaimed almost faced a whirlwind of emotions when Lethal & Jarrett stole the tag titles, but thanks to the referees who exposed their underhand tactic for the steal. It led to a positive title defense despite the challenge meeting its next step. Bryan arrived home, wreaked a pebble of an obstacle in Nese, had MJF halt his speech & threw the main event challenge for Revolution. The road set for him to reach the contender status looks exciting already & I can't wait to experience a list of barnburners. Fox & Shane renewed hostility through a fantastic sprint which helped the latter a lot to solidify his presence as a vicious villain for the future while the issues within The Baddies continue to slowly build in an uninteresting way even though the showings in the tag bout was cool. The main event had the tension carried from the preceding clash, toned the action to a dominant version but had a surprising endgame. Darby winning the title was surely on my list but seeing it this early is a shocker. I'm sure to say that his future as well as the TNT title's prestige will be upped to the next level. In overall, the hype around this episode was really high & I'm glad that it was satisfied with a blazing edition of action & story progression. The new presentation looks even richer than before including the intricate details. Most importantly, the Seattle audience was raucous enough to leave a fascinating impression as one of the best wrestling gatherings."

[6.0] "Pretty solid episode of Dynamite featuring mostly great matches and some story progression. As is usually the case, not everything hits, but there are far fewer misses as of late. The minor tweaks to presentation are helping and make the show look more big league. Now if only they could do something about the cheap barricade."

[8.0] "A pretty good episode helped by a great live crowd and a new coat of paint with the presentation. Stuff like this is a great way to bounce back from the weaker end of last year AEW had. The only downpoints to me were Danielson and MJF going a little long and the women's tag match not being great, but both advanced things so neither was a total loss. A good start to the year with the added bonus of being able to advertise a nice card for next week as well. All boxes ticked for increasing momentum. Somewhere between a '7' and an '8' for me. I like a lot of it and would say that for me this was one of the best episode in a while."

[6.0] "AEW kicks off 2023 with a pretty good show, featuring some good matches and nothing outright bad. Starks vs Jericho was pretty good. Starks was very charismatic and energetic. Jericho's usual heel work as lame, and his offence was pretty mediocre. I did really like how they traded control and told the story of Starks valiantly fighting back to get the win. The crowds hype definitely helped. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Im absolutely not looking forward to this Starks-vs-Jericho/JAS feud. Page's promo had his usual unconvincing delivery/attitude. Moxley's responding promo was good, since hes a far more comfortable talker and projects genuine intensity. Page claiming he wasnt *initially* out for revenge was pretty stupid. Im definitely interested to see their rematch. Acclaimed vs Lethal & Jarrett was alright. Bowens and Caster are still entertainingly charismatic and made their mostly basic tag spots quite fun. Jarrett and Lethal were generic heels but fine enough. ***. Danielson vs Nese was pretty quick but quite fun. Danielson got a great reaction in his home state and channelled that support into a nicely energetic performance. Nese himself was also impressive with how speedy and explosive he was, more than holding his own as Danielson essentially squashed him. TS;NR (too short; no rating). MJF's post-match promo was pretty good. I've grown tired of his repetitive low-hanging fruit, but his delivery remains great, and him name-dropping all those 'anti-AEW' figures as his fans was entertaining. Danielsons responses while playing MJFs own insult game were fun and made him really endearing. Im definitely quite interested in Danielsons series of opponents to defeat before getting a 60-minute Iron Man match with MJF for the title at Revolution. Fox vs Swerve was mostly a spotfest but a pretty good one. Swerves signature arrogance and signature moves were all very good as usual. Dude still screams star if he ever gets a proper singles push. Fox also impressed with his many extremely creative spots. Their game of high-flying oneupmanship and their many run-on counters were really cool, featuring displaying great agility and timing. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Saraya's backstage segment choosing Toni over Shida was way too on-the-nose as disrespect towards Shida, plus we're now told no Mercedes for next week, which is a big shame. Austin and Coltens parody funeral for FTR was entertaining. Theyre just such great young punk heels. The womens tag match was nothing too good but it wasn't as bad as its ratings imply. Everyone worked well, there were no obvious botches or sloppiness, and Jade continues to improve with her monstrous powerhouse work. **1/2. Joe vs Darby wasn't as good as their 1st match but still pretty good. Darby again took some insane bumps and sold terrifically as the face in peril, and Joe was a great bruiser brutally beating him down. Darby's comeback win was a bit forced but undeniably still really exciting. ***1/4 - ***1/2"

[9.0] "A very entertaining show. Good quality matches all along, except for the women's tag which was a bit disappointing. A great main event and varied matches. The promos were good and made you want to watch the next show. The fact that MJF and Bryan won't face each other until March 5th seems far away but their promo and the build up was solid. A very good night of wrestling in a hot atmosphere! 9/10 (4* 1/2)."

The mox page promo was great, the Danielson mjf promo was EPIC, Nese and Bryan did what it had to and was actually decentish for what it is, nese is very good. Starks v Jericho, Tag Titles, Swerve v Fox, and Allin v Joe all 7/10 which is TERRIFIC for a TV episode"

There was no particularely great match on this show unlike the previous dynamite but there was nothing bad and everything was fun (exept the womens watch wich no one cared about), this show makes you smile from the beginning to the end. And this really felt like the start of a new year for AEW with many young homegrown stars being on this show and WINNING on this show"

Mjf's promo work to me since that promo he cut after double or nothing has been meh I thought Bryan completely owned him on the mic here. The Gunn Club segment might've been my favorite thing on this show. Can we have Jade face someone of actual importance' Joe/Darby was good but not as good as the first match. Good TV show with a hot crowd"

It really feels like the PPV hype is hotting up now after quite a lull in which I've barely paid attention. I loved Joe/Allin. It was an incredible match with a great finish. The old school tag title match with the Dusty finish was a hoot. And Swerve and Fox reigniting their Lucha Underground rivalry was a blast as well."

Still feel the main event shouldve been longer. It was still good regardless. I like Allin, hes a good wrestler, who can sell well. I also like that he got to win the title in his home town. All round, a strong start for AEW in 2023."

I didn't like the tag title match and the women's match was eh, but everything else felt like a smash hit, three awesome matches and a very fun exchange between Danielson and MJF. Not wild about the new set (miss the tunnels, so many LEDS) but don't mind it too much either."

[9.0] "we are in a new era of AEW folks. the new presentation feels complete and is refreshing to see. this Seattle crowd was one of the hottest i've ever seen. it was a pretty solid card from start to finish apart from a few fillers. the only complaint i really had was MJF & Danielson's promo. it was a hilarious back & forth but they dragged on for mad long. some of that extra time could've been used for Nese/Danielson or even Swerve/Fox, my match of the night. we ended the night with a new TNT champion and a great moment. next week's show is shaping up to be an all time classic,"

[9.0] "Pretty cool to see Chris Jericho put over a deserving guy like Ricky Starks who is so important to AEW's future. Now I expect them to feud all the way to Revolution, and God, I hope the feud ends at Revolution, LOL. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal are going to be getting another Tag Team Title shot at Battle of the Belts (that card looks pretty awful on paper, BTW), I want Lethal & Jarrett to lose and get off TV. Jeff Jarrett is an overrated carny who leaves bad memories, Jay Lethal is a ROH guy that needs to go right back there, he does not fit AEW at all, Sonjay Dutt acts like a rabid squirrel, and Satnam Singh is 7 feet of absolutely NOTHING. They may be the worst faction in pro wrestling that comes to mind. Funny thing when Jungle Boy Jack Perry said "In my hometown of Los Angeles, California" and he got booed, LOL. I am pumped about the "5 Trials of The Dragon" for Bryan Danielson as he marches through to get to The Final Boss, MJF (similar to both levels in a video game, and the Trials of Jericho). Bryan Danielson vs. MJF in an Iron Man match, MJF is going to be in a 60 Minute Iron Man match? If you told me that you saw that coming, you better shut your lying ass up, LOL. Swerve & AR Fox did exactly what they should have done, bring back memories from their Lucha Underground battles, (God, I miss that show). Darby Allin took down Samoa Joe for the TNT Title. Now, on one end, the undersized underdog taking down the big, bad, bully monster is always a cool story that never misses. But also, the shadow of hot potato still looms over the TNT Title, as Joe just won that title barely a month and a half ago. Saraya picking Toni Storm as her partner and not someone who has never wrestled in AEW before was pretty lame. But if this sets up a Hikaru Shida Heel turn and a feud with Toni Storm, then I'm down. Toni/Shida could be just as dope as Shida/Deeb. Saraya continues to be awful in AEW, IMO. I don't want to see her in the ring, getting a Title shot, on the microphone. Nothing. I don't want to even see Saraya running down to the ring to fight Britt Baker either. She is terrible. Dare I say, a waste of a signing (harsh, but true). Also, That Los Angeles Dynamite card looks GOD-TIER. I CANNOT WAIT. The Trios Title Ladder match, Hangman vs. Mox, BRYAN DANIELSON vs. KONOSUKE TAKESHITA. Hell Yeah."

[7.0] "A solid show to start the new year. The new set and overall presentation of Dynamite look incredible so far. I wasn't the biggest fan of the main event, especially the finish, though. Feels like the TNT championship doesn't have much direction in terms of what Tony wants to do with it. Joe's reign seemed like it was going to quell the lackluster Wardlow reign (which was not his fault in the slightest). Other than that, the show was great. Match of the night obviously goes to Swerve v AR Fox."

Ever since Full Gear, all the doubts, uncertainties and problems seem to have mostly dissipitated and to show it AEW is on an insane run of great shows with excellent wrestling and the hottest crowds you can find in all of professional wrestling. My two complains would be that the tag match was merely okay (they have to wrap up Jade's reign quickly) and despite being a good promo battle between MJF and Danielson, it went a little too long. 9.5/10"
