[8.0] "A fun watch that was elevated by the excellent Main Event. Other than the Main Event, there were no must watch matches, but none of the matches were bad either. Weakest was probably either the Women's tag match or the Bullet Club v Tanahashi/G.o.D. match. However, even if you don't watch the rest of the show, any fan of wresting should go out of their way to see the incredible Main Event."
[7.0] "It's interesting to watch NJPW on a visit and I felt a new atmosphere. The first day was completely dedicated to the IWGP Tag Team Title and US t. matches, and of course these matches stole the show and were phenomenal. Otherwise, rather, they tried to please us with guests from the UK, who, as it were, are not new to the assembled audience, and vice versa, it would be better to do more NJPW vs UK matches, rather than mixed ones. Well, in any case, this is a successful show where I got all possible emotions, especially here I saw a desire to surprise and capture my legacy."
[8.0] "I thought that was a consistently good first night of Royal Quest II. The final two matches were excellent, with FTR v. Aussie Open being a MOTY candidate. 8/10"
[7.0] "Very good event // Kidd vs Maloney ***¼ // UE vs Knight & Oku ***½ // skipped Women's Tag // 6 man Tag ***¾ // knight & Tito vs chaos *** // 8 man Tag **¾ // ospreay vs umino **** // ftr vs aussie Open ****½ MOTN"
[7.0] "An ace main and most everything else was decent with the exceptions of the women's match which was bloody awful and the BC match which was meh. The main being as strong as it was makes this show much closer to a seven than a six."
[5.0] "An acceptable TV show. But not more or less. The opener was good, Gabriel Kidd returns to wrestle and like the "good memories" of RevPro, Gabriel delivered a great match, also Dan Maloney made a great performance, this two had a great chemistry for just 10 minutes of time and for be the first match of the show back in London...But then....The bigger part of the event were between trash and boring. The worst match without a doubt was G.o.D and Tanahashi vs Bullet Club, a totally bad and boring pace killed this match. The only acceptable match between this "part of the trash" was Los Ingobernables vs Suzuki-Gun, not a good match, not even great, but acceptable. The Pre Main Event finally bring another good/great match to the show and how it should be, it was in the hands of the Best In Ring Performer of The World, Will Ospreay, him and Shota had a great chemistry for a good time. I was surprised for the KO end, but anyways that didn't seem bad and for a plus it made Shota look like someone that delivered everything he could for this match, even if he couldn't win. And Obv the Main Event was the best match of the card by far, MOTYC. Aussie Open is the future of Tag Team Wrestling and FTR is without a doubt that good present. 3rd MOTYC for them this year, maybe even better than their matches against The Briscoes. But anyways the rest of the event was meh, acceptable and bad at the same time. In my opinion, averaging my ratings, this show was a 5/10. Not recommended to watch it all but 3 matches, Kidd vs Moloney, Ospreay vs Umino and FTR vs Aussie Open."
[9.0] "Large bias involved in the rating of this, but Royal Quest II was my first ever pro wrestling show I have been to in person. The entire weekend was incredible, with the first night being the highlight. The atmosphere was immense, from the very touching Inoki tribute all away to the main event, which is destined to achieve classic status. Even I can admit it felt a bit house show-ey in aspects. Although the magic of going to your first wrestling show outweighs a caveat like that."
[7.0] "Both nights of Royal Quest feel more like a catch-up with old friends rather than serious wrestling shows. There is some decent wrestling there, especially Aussie Open vs FTR on night 1 and Ishii's mystery Jonah replacement match on night 2 (which was announced on this show). It felt to me that perhaps the shows were a little rushed and may have ended maybe 30 minutes earlier than planned (train strikes and railway engineering made travel more difficult on the night so I don't mind that much if that was the case), because a few matches felt like they had their legs cut out from under them. If you're not a huge fan of almost constant chanting and a crowd which probably tries a little too hard to get itself over, you might want to stick to the aforementioned matches. Outside of those it's more like a light-hearted house show. It's fun to see the wrestlers react to that kind of audience, though, even if it can be too much for me. Tama Tonga did well to go 50/50 with Jay on the chants because Jay was massively over. Tama seemed to get a kick out of people singing along to his theme, too. As an aside, Gideon Grey may seem a little cartoonish in New Japan but in front of an audience like this he shines as a pantomime heat magnet. He's the silly-chant sponge which allows the other guys in the match to be a little more serious in front of an always chanting crowd. My rating might possibly drop a point after seeing the video version but I think there's some novelty in seeing these guys react to a very vocal audience after so many non-vocal shows in Japan."
[7.0] "Not too far from being called a house show, especially compared to the last show three years ago. However it was a fun show capped off by an incredible main event that had the crowd on its feet for the last ten minutes!"
"Fun show and great main event, FTR and Aussie Open went all out to deliver a classic! Also the venue was a 30 minute walk from my house, so bonus points."
