[8.0] "This was a fun show with more action than unnecessary and dry promos. Even the promo work was better than what we have been seeing the last 5+ months. The Us contender matches were fun, not ppv level but pretty good for tv. For months, RAW has been disappointing week in and week out, even the go home show to SummerSlam isn't worth a few mins worth watch but now that Brock Vs Reigns is over, Creative starts working on new storylines, revamp old ones and introduce new characters. This show was a surprise and hopefully, we get stuff like this week in, week out building legit characters and not relying old tropes that have gone stale with overuse."

[7.0] "First raw i've watched in about a year and what a difference without Vince. we got actual wrestling on a wrestling show, the matches were all *** or more, just ashame the womens matches had to be non finishes that felt like the old vince crap. Thankfully there was no stupid comedy skits or useless backstage segments, if we can just vive wrestlers there full names back and get the vincisms out of the commentary like calling PPVs, live special events or whatever it is they said. Still a lot of work to be done to get the stench of vince out of the show but this was a good start."

[8.0] "Show Statement. Finally RAW becomes the home of wrestling. Absolutely all the matches were successful, the plot stories competently entered a new era and look much more logical. Divisions come to life, and most importantly, the hand of the master is visible! Triple H did what it took to present itself and clearly laid a new path to the best wrestling show. Once I was surprised how WWE treated its resource so badly, and it seems the answer is obvious, as a result, a shake-up in the leadership can open wrestling for us in a new way from WWE."

[8.0] "So this is WWE's highest rated event of the year; including PPVs. It took Triple H one week of creative control to put out something better than Vince did for the past seven months! There is so much to fix still but it is looking very promising. We got Io; finally on the main roster. Arguably the greatest female wrestler in the world today! So of course Vince did not want her. Why would he want the best for his programme? We also got a faction! Vince hated factions too because they are cool and make for great stories. Ciampa won, twice! The US title already feels more prestigious and an attempt was made to do the same with the tag belts (main event). No overly long promos. Oh, and the matches were all great! Truly shocking! The DQs, while still there, did not feel unnecessary. There was still bad stuff though; the name changes are still comical and seem to be part of Vince's final decisions to try and destroy what is left of the company's reputation. Corey seemed to be trying to bury Io on commentary. WTF? And the crowd sucked too; I mean this is better than anything all year and they did not seem to care?"

Dynamax Dawn wrote on 03.08.2022:

All of the matches on the show were good, though most of the midcard talent desperately need to be heated up soon. The highlight of the show was the US title video packages."

This is what WWE should be doing, and hopefully will continue to do going forward."

The crowd was awful though and completely dead for most of the show which is rough considering there was a lot more wrestling than usual here. Had they been hot, it would've really elevated the show."

[9.0] "Becky kicked off the show with an untimely sign-off periodically due to her injury sustained after the stellar match she had at SummerSlam. The segment escalated to a new height when Bayley's trio assaulted her backstage making their presence felt. The opening three way was a great start to the wrestling side as Styles catapulted with an impressive win despite the amazement shown by Mustafa. Rollins had a pretty good promo explaining his actions with a surprise interruption from Street Profits & Montez again getting the spotlight of singles stardom. The immediate match was almost great and gave the opening wider for Montez to flourish as a solo act. Asuka/Alexa served as cannon fodder in a good way to cement the stance of Bayley's trio stronger while Ciampa fought to survive in prominence in the second three way. Edge is back in business donning the Metalingus mentality again with a strong promo while Bianca & Iyo had a strong showing with the tensions rising high among the women. Styles & Ciampa wore the coats of workhorses and gave a clinical performance. Ciampa's shining bright under new tutelage of the brand as expected & I'm happy to see it happen. The main event was a nice recall of a match between the teams with a finish that served purpose of the feud being extended. This is the game changer of a sign of great things bound to happen for this newly flourished WWE as the three hour format was utilized in the best way possible presenting strong stories & great dose of action throughout. If this is the start of a huge upstream, I'm certainly in for the freshness WWE has to offer."

[8.0] "Best way to open the show. Pretty sensitive promo by Becky, I really hope her injury isn't just as bad as it seems. Bianca really looks spectacular, what a champion; AJ Styles VS The Miz VS Mustafa Ali: Great idea to refresh the show and the US title having this two triple threats. This first one, was awesome. The three did great spots and comination of moves, making that everyone could look great, event if just one could get the final pin. Good match. [****1/4]; Seth Rollins VS Montez Ford: Also a really nice fight. It doesn't seems pretty clear if they are going to organize Montez Ford a singles wrestler, but evidently he has a lot of skills to do that. Rollins it's always great at the ring. The match was satisfactory, maybe there were some moments that the chemistry dissapeared, and that affected the overall match. [***1/2]; Asuka VS Alexa Bliss: I suppose this was just the excuse to bring this new women's faction battles to WWE once again. Good idea, since Alexa and Asuka are currently not having their best moment on the show. [N/A]; Great to see Edge coming back; Dolph Ziggler VS Ciampa VS Chad Gable: Another pretty interesting match here. This match even looked more interesting in paper, because of the fact that no one could know who would get the final win. The interactions worked fine, but there was nothing so much impressive. A satisfactory one. [***]; IYO SKY VS Bianca Belair: This was maybe the flat match of the card, just making an excuse also to keep bringing and making bigger the Bianca-Bailey feud. Io was one of my favorites on NxT, and now it seems that with her return she will get even more time on screen and importance trough all the show. The battle, just adequate itself. [**1/2]; AJ Styles VS Ciampa: This was an absolute surprise, wow. When I saw this match at the card, it was obvious that I would gone to love it. So it was, the match went pretty nice, pretty violent from Ciampa with an exquisite offensive from Styles. The sheenaningans from the Miz played really well, and ended playing an overall important role on the final result. Nice match. [***3/4]; The Usos VS The Mysterios: Even if the final result was pretty obvious, both teams made a great effort to put a good main event battle. Dominik looked pretty much clear during this one, even his high-flying moves were realized more clearly. Now we might see the Judgment Day coming for the Tag titles. This triple feud with the Mysterios included seems pretty nice. A very satisfactory match. [***3/4]; With this show, now it's more clear where HHH it's pulling the string to change the WWE concepto, and where you could see that they maintain the WWE essence. This road to the next PPV seems pretty exciting with this new refreshing face, let's hope they keep doing a good job. Good overall show. [****]"

[9.0] "Tremendous match between Ciampa and AJ, Bianca Vs Iyo a good match, all the segments were good, WWE is incomparable to AEW right now, now that Triple H is at the helm all the shows are consistently good. Rollins Vs Montez has been interesting, and both triple threat matches as well. It is noted that the show goes better without using Omos, the boring segments of the 24/7 title, and changes to good giving opportunities to great superstars such as Ciampa, AJ Styles or Dolph Ziggler among others. Very good show."

[7.0] "Watched this episode because I was curious about the Triple H era - especially after an encouraging Summerslam. The hype of it being a "statement" show was overblown. This felt like a regulation episode of RAW with more cohesion, longer matches and more satisfying finishes. The best changes are Bayley's new faction (who were all over this show), Ciampa getting a push, Montez Ford being given a big showcase singles match (commercial-free), Seth Rollins looking like he's going to be taken seriously again and Becky Lynch as a babyface. Negatives would be that the WWE camera work is still atrocious, they still say some of the most riddiculous verbeage on commentary and they still have a heavy reliance on DQ finishes in matches they shouldn't be booking in the first place (such as Io Shirai/Bianca Belair). I'm not jumping up and down, raving about it like most people, but there was definitely some good things about this show. The thing is - it's still WWE. It's still sports entertainment and that means its going to cater to a difference audience than AEW caters to (which is a good thing). If you enjoy the WWE product but didn't enjoy the constant turnover of talent, DQ's, three week pushes, short matches and nonsensical booking - than the Triple H era looks to be for you. It's Vince's WWE - but with a competant person in charge of the book. Also the women's division seems to be a major focal point and more of a spotlight has been given to the midcard titles and tag division. But we still have The Miz going on about his giant balls and "Maximum Male Models". It's still sports entertainment."

[5.0] "With Vince gone I planned to give the main roster a chance after 4 years away, but after the abysmal episode of Smackdown I watched on July 22nd, I had no intention of attempting another main roster show for a while, however, plans changed again with Io Shirai being moved to Raw. The show didn't blow me away, but it was a masterpiece next to the episode of Smackdown I watched. The show didn't start well with Lynch and in particular Balair both cutting bad promos and Belair's acting after Lynch was attacked was laughable. The first triple threat match wasn't very good. Then there was an absolutely horrible, horrific, insufferable promo from Rollins, wtf is his gimmick? What's so funny? That shit sucked and was the worst thing on the show by far, absolutely hated it and not in a good way, but the subsequent match was fine. The second triple threat match was good, big improvement on the first. An out of breath Edge cut a boring promo. Io Shirai is my favourite wrestler and, as previously stated, the reason I tuned back in to Raw...her personality, charisma and star quality all shone throughout the show, she stole every segment she was in, but unfortunately her match wasn't at her usual quality, but it was fine given the circumstances. Ciampa/Styles was great and easily MOTN. Lashley hasn't gotten any better on the mic and that US title belt looks awful. The main event was a basic, uninteresting match and I couldn't have cared less about the post match angle, Dominick needing medical attention because of one weak spear was ridiculous and a very flat ending to the show. In addition, the crowd seemed dead for about 90% of the show, commentary was awful and there were far too many recaps, it's just pointless filler to turn a 2 hour show into 3 hours. Overall, there were a few things I didn't like but the only thing that actively made me want to switch off was the Rollins promo, on the other hand, while there were a couple of good matches and some wrestlers I'm a fan of, if Io wasn't here I don't think I could sit through 3 hours of this show every week, but she is, so for now, I guess I'm in."

[3.0] "Really disliked this. It felt like it lost its soul, it was all heatless smarkbait workrate matches all night. All of the levity and fun of a WWE show was missing, there was no comedy, everything took itself deadly serious. I just wanted something to break up the streak of MATCH MATCH MATCH MATCH. Crowd was dead for probably this reason as well. I didn't even mind the matches so much, but if I wanted to watch 2020 NXT I would have watched it, and it wouldn't have been forced to rebrand."

Sure, we didn't get that many promos or story advancement outside of the women, but the US Title was made to seem hugely important for the first time in years, we got a ton of banger matches, only a few recaps in the first (commercial free! ) hour. Absolutely incredible episode of RAW. The future is looking bright with Triple H at the helm, and anyone who claims otherwise is a laughable troll. Fantastic wrestling show."
