[8.0] "Yep this is it chief. It's all coming together man WWE is finally fucking great again. I wouldn't expect a disappointing WWE ppv again for a very long time. SummerSlam and Clash at the Castle were bigger but this showed how to do a B show ppv perfectly."
[5.0] "A show with highs and lows and an audience that doesn't remind me of Philadelphia at all, but almost becomes a problem for the event. Although the first match gets the crowd going, Morgan & Rousey kill the atmosphere so badly that the show never recovers. And this despite the fact that with McIntyre against Kross there is only one more bitter disappointment. Belair and Bayley are at least okay, whereas the match between Edge and Balor is pretty okay but clearly overbookt and doesn't really appeal to me personally. Let's move on to the main event, where the performances fall well short of the match in Wales, but the WWE Universe is given a little treat in the form of Bray Wyatt's comeback. I, on the other hand, don't want to celebrate this just yet, as his last run was pretty annoying towards the end. The show has one total failure and one really good match, but since there's little else of memorability going on, you have to be okay with a rating in no man's land beyond good and bad."
[9.0] "Both Liv Vs Ronda extreme rules and Drew Vs Kross strap match are bad, but Bianca Vs Bayley ladder match and Rollins Vs Riddle fight pit are both great, Edge Vs Balor I Quit is fantastic, Brawling Brutes Vs Imperium Good Old Fashion Donnybrook is really spectacular and also the one thing that this show is most famous for, the masterclass return of Bray Wyatt. Overall WWE Extreme Rules (2022) is an amazing show thanks to both it's really fun in ring product and the return of WWE's most creative wrestler ever. R.I.P. Bray Wyatt."
[6.0] "This show was ok good things were that every match was made to feel extreme which we haven't had in previous years- the opener was great and the i quit match was good but everything else wasn't great- the wyatt return was brilliant aswelll"
[4.0] "One of my least favourite shows I have watched live. Most of the matches just dragged on and on and storyline wise this was a pretty uninteresting show. The I Quit match especially I really dislike. Bray Wyatt's return was done amazingly though and that at least closed the night correctly."
[8.0] "This card featured some great matches, a few definitely disappointed and the main event should have been better but the Wyatt return at the end made that much better. 8/10"
[5.0] "A mix bag really. Great modern opener with stupid amount of fun, but it went downhill from there. Rousey and Morgan obviously didn't deliver, while Kross and McIntyre tried to work the gimmick of the match but in the end there was no hope to make it enjoyable. Ladder Match was meh and Edge had another one of his long matches with an okay finish - just a shame that you have to sit through half an hour every single time. Rollins and Riddle did okay, but ultimately it was also a disappointment. At the time the return of Wyatt felt phenomenal, but we all know what happened later."
New Japan House of Torture Match.
[7.0] "Except for deathmatch, stipulations in pro-wrestling aren't my thing, but I gave a chance to Extreme Rules '23. The opener rocked pretty hard while Rollins and Riddle pleased me in that Fight Pit. The Ladder and the I Quit were cool enough, but the Strap and the Extreme Rules were big misses."
[5.0] "Apart from the first match, a pretty awful show. Skip it. [Imperium vs Brutes] - 4 stars (Match of the Night). [Liv Morgan vs Ronda] - 1.25 stars. [Drew vs Karrion] - 1 star (Worst of the Night). [Bianca vs Bayley] - 2.5 stars. [Edge vs Finn Balor] - 2.5 stars. [Rollins vs Riddle] - 3 stars. Average match rating: 2.38 of 5 stars (or 4.76 of 10). Rounded to 5 for Cagematch."
[8.0] "Another great PPV from WWE. I liked build-up to the show, and it's great that Extreme Rules is extreme again. Opening was amazing, despite I hoped it's going to be main event. They did a lot of crazy spots and Sheamus throwing Gunther on announce table felt like big deal. They have crazy chemistry together and I hope that we will see Sheamus vs Gunther III. Brawling Brutes won in a decisive way and Gunther was protected on the end. (****1/2) Liv and Ronda weren't good and SmackDown Women's title was in serious problem until Charlotte returned. So many botches in this match and I think it's very possible that Ronda is going to leave after WrestleMania. Liv is good, and she will improve in future. She fought with Ronda but ultimately lost, and at least their rivalry is over. Liv's smile on the end of the match was interesting, but I doubt that she will be champion soon. (**1/2) Strap match was boring. They would have better match with better stipulation. Nothing memorable happened and Kross won in cheap way so he didn't get buried this early. (***) Ladder match was great, and this two have obvious chemistry. Of course, it was far from some better ladder matches, and Bianca won in a decisive way with her showing her power once again. Unfortunately, Bayley would lose again and again after this. (***3/4) Edge and Balor were amazing, and it was one of better, more dramatic I Quit matches that I have seen. First 15 minutes were slow, but I Quit matches simply can't be fast. They fought in the crowd, and Edge locking Balor in crossface using weapon was cool. Last 10 minutes were excellent, Beth Phoenix coming to save her husband was great and Edge revenging to Dom with low blow was also great. On the end JD forcing Edge to say those two words by threatening Beth was cheap heel move and gave Balor huge win. Rhea hitting Beth was cool and it set up their big dream match for the future. (****1/4) Main event was wrong, there were some more important matches on the show. It was good and competitive match. Daniel Cormier served his role well and added some legitimacy to the match. I liked spots on the top of the cage and on the end senton of the top looked brutal. I'm happy Riddle got a win in PPV main event, finally. (***3/4) But ending of the show was legendary. Lights turning off, firefly funhouse characters and on the end Bray's arrival and insane pop was beautiful. I just hope that Bray is going to have a memorable 2023. Great PPV and I am glad that secondary PPVs can be this good."
[7.0] "Good show. Great opening match and a lot of solid ones. There were a few disappointing ones that could have been easily tv matches but overall though I enjoyed it, not quite as much as I enjoyed many other ppvs of the year but still solid show nontheless . 7/10"
Doch was dann kam war bestenfalls Durchschnitt.
"Overall decent show, Great Opener, both women's matches were flat and you could skip them. Finn Balor vs Edge definitely the match of the night. Kross vs Mcintyre pretty slow match. Matt Riddle vs Seth was pretty good but I felt that the match ended kind of abruptly. Bray Wyatt return was magnific"
[9.0] "The legit night of extreme was kicked off in the best way possible with a blistering war between two of the best factions that keep the promotion alive through their enthralling story. Brawling Brutes received their huge receipt of a win ending the bitter feud on a high note. Then, Morgan & Rousey were put in a herculean spot to follow up with their expected-to-be-wild clash but didn't garner the expectations. Despite their work being decent, there were awry highlights that made the match less interesting & the result turned most of the minds off since they knew what happened before when Rousey was champion of the blue brand. McIntyre & Kross elevated their tension to a new scale with a pretty solid match under a hit-or-miss stipulation where the action was good with a cool mix of methodical drama carried till the finish. Bianca outsmarted Bayley & her girls in a wild ladder match defying the stacked odds with her willpower & physical power while Edge visited the peak of pressurized drama after a long time, thanks to Bálor & Judgment Day's satanic actions on the Hall of Famer's wife resulting in a die-hard fighter utter the embarrassing couple of words. The main event had the "it factor" feel from the start & it took a while for the fanbase to soak in the unique environment. But both men wasted no time and exceled in the atmosphere presenting a strong 1st impression of Fight Pit to the major leagues. Then arrived the anticipated moment! The final piece of one of the thrilling puzzles in The White Rabbit - the grand return of Bray Wyatt! I felt pure goosebumps on indulging the sheer anguish of excitement for this mastermind & I'm putting all my chips down for this impeccable character's evolution after a scintillating beginning to it. This whole event will be dearly remembered for Wyatt but apart from that, standalone moments were created in cementing Brawling Brutes, Bianca Belair & Matt Riddle as monumental stars while the quality of the product ranging to a great scale thereby achieving a fantastic night of extremity in its best form. 8.5 out of 10 points!"
[10.0] "The return of Bray Wyatt and the old-fashioned Donnybrook match between The Brawling Brutes and Imperium make this PPV worth sitting down and watching from start to finish. The cage match was fascinating as well. DC, holding his ground against Riddle and Rollins, let us know that he wouldn't play favors. The ending to the match was exceptional, with Riddle doing a broton from the platform, then locking in a triangle choke. His pro wrestling life now meets his MMA background and is very well told."
[6.0] "6.5/10 Fairly decent show. It will 100% be propped up by the memory of the Bray return (which was excellent by the way) when looked back on in the future. Couple of stinkers but Imperium/Brutes was a very good match and more than worth your time. Great example of what kind of wrestling wwe can give the fans if they just let these dudes go. Fight pit was decent. Ending to a pretty middle of the road I Quit match was brilliant and saves it from impending obscurity. Belair/Bayley also good. Ronda and Kross can get in the bin. Plenty of good spots and moments courageously floating on a sea of meh. All of which acted as a vehicle to bring you the White Rabbit reveal. Something you will likely remember the show for over almost everything else."
[7.0] "Guter WWE PPV.
[7.0] "Bray Wyatt is home again and this is the epic moment of the whole show, his comeback was so beautifully blown up and this is of course the brightest moment of the month for the wrestling world! At the same time, the whole show was pretty smooth and went according to a good script, of course the main disadvantage is the timing of matches, all matches except the first three seemed very long. Or simply had no structure. All the same, of course, it gave chaos and some kind of madness that suited the concept of the show. There was a drama waiting for us here with Edge and his wife, also interesting types of matches, and in general I was satisfied. It's a pity that the fans were tired and quiet towards the end of the show. Respect Seth Rollins for sending to RVD! Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Six Man Tag Team Match is just highly recommended for viewing!"
[9.0] "This was a show of three matches and a moment. The Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook, the Ladder Match and the I Quit Match and that ending will all be remembered fondly, the ending even legendary. The other three matches also happened, and I don't foresee many watching them back. Half of the matches were good to great and the other half were just not really anything to write home about. What elevates this show from a 6 or 7 is that ending. After weeks of White Rabit QR Codes and crowd signs and all sorts, we finally got the reveal. It was the reveal most wanted and expected, and the crowd absolutely adored it. The crowd were there mainly to see one thing, that being the return of Bray Wyatt. They chanted for him during the main event and then they got him. It was spectacular, it was like nothing I have ever seen before. The Firefly Funhouse puppets coming to life was amazing, the burnt Fiend mask on the table making Cole jump, The Fiend reappearing in the crowd and then returning to Firefly Funhouse, where it lay in a state of ruin was amazing. Then the face on the TV asking "Who killed the world" much like the first code did. The door being kicked open with the blinding light behind it, all to be replaced by the lantern and out he came. This return got six different pops. One for the lights going out, one for "The Whole World in his Hands", one for The Fiend, one for the lantern just coming on, one for him walking out and then finally for the mask coming off and the conclusive reveal of Bray Wyatt. The crowd were so loud, you could not even hear him say "I'm here" into the camera. It was incredible. The crowd got exactly what they wanted and more, and for that ending this show will be remembered in history."
[5.0] "Opener was the best match on this show, everything else ranged from very bad to 'this match served it's purpose'. Inoffensive, but skippable show."
[7.0] "this year's Extreme Rules was a HUGE improvement from previous years. it had some stinkers like Liv vs Ronda and the strap match but it was still a solid show. all matches had stipulations which was great. stipulation based PPVs have been improving a lot this year."
[7.0] "This years extreme rules was a very competent and mostly enjoyable Premium Live Event, undoubtedly the best match was the opener with an absolute banger of a match between The Brawling Brutes and IMPERIUM. The rest of the matches were all decent with some great moments. Obviously Bray Wyatts return was one of the reasons there was so much hype around this event and that return was executed absolutely perfectly. WWEs programming has been fantastically strong in 2022 and it appears to be continuing this upwards trend."
[8.0] "Propably the first Extreme Rules, that I was hyped for in years. Imperium and Brawling Brutes proved once again, that they are not to be overlooked. I wish that Liv had retained, but I can see cool gimmick change for her comming up. Karrion winning over Drew was a must, otherwise he would've lost much needed momentum, it's a shame that the match underdelivered, and honestly I blame the stipulation. I don't know what to feel about the ladder match, Bianca is on the way to go, but I'm not sure if Baley winning this match would be too much, since she just came back. The result of Balor vs Edge was on the internet weeks, before the match so I was not surprised how it went, and honestly I like it. The Main Event? Well it's Rollins and Riddle in a Fight Pit, how in any universe would that be boring/bad. Oh and Wyatt returning is the most important thing, I love it, can't wait to see what they're going to do with him. Overall, very good PPV."
[9.0] "I really liked this show I loved all the matches having a gimmick strapped to them and I felt for the most part all the matches delivered and the show was capped off with a beautiful return of bray wyatt."
[5.0] "Average show that started with it's strongest match, and one that was followed by several that just didn't live up to hype. Watch the Donnybrook match! You could skip the rest of this event and not miss much, although tune in to Edge/Finn around the halfway mark to see Rhea's heel work, still the brightest part of this faction. Why is Rhea not holding one of the women's belts? The main event is at least worth checking out for a couple of big spots off the top of the pit and a good finish that suits the stip."
[4.0] "The opener was fantastic. Walter and Sheamus are the current MVPs of the promotion. If the show had not had that opener and the decent main event, this would be a great candidate for the US government to use as media torture at Guantanamo. I am astounded that so many fans who have celebrated the removal of Vince McMahon and his unrealistic booking and characters have worked themselves into thinking supernatural Bray Wyatt is a positive addition to the roster."
[7.0] "The opener was amazing but sadly nothing else on this show topped that for me. The preceding two matches following the opener were just not good at all, but luckily everything else after that was good, with the ladder match probably being the 2nd best on the card. I don't care for Bray Wyatt at all and this will probably be the most I enjoy him this 2nd time around but I can't deny his return was done really well and he got a big pop."
[5.0] "Average show. Opener was the best bout. Fight Pit main event was disappointing and nearly as good as the Thatcher/Riddle version, because Rollins didn't work to the gimmick. I Quit match was PAINFULLY boring until the finish, which was red hot and well done. The finish saved the match. Everything else on the show ranged from bad to aggressively fine. Crowd was hot for the Bray Wyatt return, but I thought it was goofy. Bray Wyatt/"The Fiend", in my view, is the worst gimmick in the history of professional wrestling."
[6.0] "It was a good PLE, even if not all the matches were of the same quality (Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey was the worst match on the card for me, and Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross was a little better, but clearly below the others). But otherwise, the others were very good. But of course, the best part of the show was the return of Bray Wyatt, brought in the most beautiful way, and with a crowd that exploded at that moment."
[8.0] "This was a very enjoyable ppv. The opening match was match of the night and it was incredible - the build, the story it told, the quality in the ring work and the finish. The middle part of the ppv dragged a bit, the women ladder match was OK, the I quit match told a fantastic story. The main event was good but not spectacular, but then ending the ppv with the return of Wyatt was executed perfectly, with a massive reaction from the crowd."
[7.0] "Good show, dragged a bit in the middle but still good. Donnybrook match was insane, Rousey v Morgan was slow, Drew vs Kross was ass, Bayley vs Bianca had was a great effort, Edge vs Balor was pure art, and that main event was fucking great. Of course, the Wyatt return, that was perfect."
[7.0] "The opener and the final segment were excellent, and that is enough to make this a good show. Having seen the Bray return before watching the show, I loved the six man tag, but found the rest of the show merely competent. It felt like everyone was putting on their B-show work rather than turning it up for the PPV. Riddle/Rollins had some fun spots with the cage, but it felt neither violent enough for the blood feud, nor exciting enough to be a great match. The I Quit match was a WWE "epic" which is a type of match I hate. They're all in on Bianca, I just wish it didn't come at the expense of making Damage CTRL look like a joke. Karrion Kross has always been boring to me and this was another example of why I think that. Liv Morgan has a lot of fans so I understand why she gets pushed, but between her mediocre matches and slow, robotic promos, I've never got what people see in her. I'm not a Rousey fan, but she is better at every aspect of wrestling than Morgan. The opener was excellent, Sheamus is having a career renaissance with this Gunther feud. Banger after banger indeed."
[6.0] "This ppv was all right, but was definitely slow at various points and wasn't as consistently good as most other wwe ppvs this year. High points were the donnybrook, the i quit match, and the ladder match. Low point was the glacial strap match and the Rousey match. The main event had its moments but it was mostly confusing and hard to watch. Not my favorite match type by a country mile. However, in aggregate it all felt good and though some matches were slow it didn't feel too long overall. Oh and I guess Bray Wyatt's re-debut was cool, though I've watched literally nothing with him in it. He's supposed to be good so I can understand people being excited for it, and it made for a cool ending."
[5.0] "I decided to check out this show. It was... OK. The opening match was fantastic, no doubt about that. The Bayley/Belair match was really good as well. Everything else was ok to pretty bad. Ronda/Liv and Drew/Kross were not good. Liv wrestles too much like a rookie and Kross has just never had it with me. Outside of the last couple minutes, I thought Edge and Finn was pretty damn boring. The main event was fine. Not much to really say about it. Also, the Bray return was cool, I guess, but I have never really been a fan of Bray's wrestling or spookiness. OK show."
[8.0] "a really strong show overall. MOTN was the donnybrook match. I quit was really good soap opera, the fight pit was honestly a let down but still really good, the ladder match was great despite in my opinion the wrong person winning. strap match was perfectly fine. the entrance is so fucking good and the right person won so nothing wrong with that. the extreme rules match was a downer but the right woman won so again who cares. and then you know the bray wyatt guy showed up! hello bray, welcome back please do good things. maybe kross vs wyatt? wyatt's squad vs judgement day? im so intrigued and im sad i have to work on monday and ill miss raw! oh well."
[9.0] "This was a great ppv with three fantastic match in the 6 man match, the fight pit match and the I quit match, all were amazing. The return of bray wyatt was done brilliantly the only thing keeping it from a 10 is the smackdown women champion match was a let down and the strap match."
[8.0] "This is the first WWE event I watch in its entirety in almost five years, and it was all because of Triple H, Gunther and Sheamus, and I mostly enjoyed. Despite the product still having some of the things I dislike, namely overbooking, camera cuts, and an overall slow and not very technical style, I enjoyed more than I was doing five years ago, so I might give it a chance every once in a while."
[7.0] "The trios match and the finish to the I Quit match were really good. Rousey vs Morgan was boring, strap match was mid, Bianca vs Bayley had a couple of good spots but was pretty mid, The first 3/4 of that I quit match were boooooooring, Riddle vs Rollins was not nearly as good as two guys of their talent should be able to produce. But what this show will be remembered for, was the fantastically done return of Bray Wyatt, it was well shot, it didn't drag, and Bray being back is a HUGE win for WWE."
[9.0] "Erstklassiger PPV.
[8.0] "I'm going to keep this one short since I keep rambling on about the matches here when I already did that in the matchguide. The opening match was a banger where every performed and put on another clinical match for that feud. The next two matches were quite slackly. Rousey winning is green. Kross winning with assistance. The next three matches were good performances with some great spots in each. Belair should of not won that match in my opinion. Ripley vs. Phoenix has been planted. Daniel Cormier did some very good officiating. Bray Wyatt has returned in one of the most brilliantly scripted and planned returns in a long time with a massive pop that raised the roof."
[8.0] "Some extremely good matches. Looking at the opener and the final parts of the I quit. Bray return at the end is potentially the best return ever from an artistic viewpoint."
[5.0] "I didn't like this PPV. Only two good matches (Imperium vs Brawling Brutes and Bayley vs Belair), the rest of them is failed in my opinion. However, Bray Wyatt's return saved the show."
[4.0] "Opener was really good, and that's probably the only thing I liked about this show. I expected that most of the remaining matches would not be very good, but I expected something cool from Riddle vs Rollins , but unfortunately it was just a normal match and nothing more."
[4.0] "This was a bad show with several highly questionable decisions at best. I don't understand why WWE always books their faces to be dorks who can't see obvious chicanery coming. It was a decent surprise to see Belair actually fight back and defeat Bailey and her group though at the factions credibility. Edge vs Balor was way too long, for being an I Quit match it was super tame. A lot of the "extreme" rules hampered more than they helped. People seem excited Bray got rehired, I don't think they remember how awful the Fiend stuff got by the end before they fired him."
[9.0] "Most focused WWE PPV in a long time. Felt like some great payoffs and great setups were made. The SmackDown Women's Championship match was a little rough but all the other matches were at the very least pretty good to really good at peak."
[9.0] "A very good PPV with great wrestling, some weak ones but not at all let this be a great PPV, well done here WWE and hopefully soon there will be more talk about the return of Bray Wyatt or the White Rabbit, I don't know what his name is."
[6.0] "There was one excellent match on this show and one very good match. The rest was boring, over long and a real bore. I know people are excited about Bray Wyatt. I get that, I am glad he's back - especially for his legions of fans who have been fantasy booking his return since the day he was fired. But there was 3 hours of content before Bray returned. Brawling Brutes/Imperium continues to be the best thing in WWE by a fair margin. That match was so much fun and started the PPV off right. Then we had a god awful Smackdown Women's Championship match and one of the most boring stipulation matches I've ever seen between Kross and McIntyre. I am not into Kross and Scarlett on the main roster (just as I wasn't into them in NXT). They, along with Judgment Day, are among the worst acts currently in the company. Bayley and Bianca tore it up in the ladder match, in what I thought was one of the best WWE women's matches of the year. But then there was Finn Balor vs Edge. Please don't let the 5 minutes of run-ins and shenanigans fool you into thinking this was a good match. It was one of the most boring matches I can remember seeing in a long while, featuring a stipulation I cannot recall ever enjoying (regardless of the wrestlers involved). If you like heaving breathing ASMR, this was the match for you. The main event was too short and disappointed compared to the first Riddle/Rollins match. Daniel Cormier added nothing, sadly. And then Bray Wyatt returned and clearly that has made everyone forget the PPV up to that point. One of the worst WWE PPVs of the year."
[3.0] "HHH's WWE still sucks, sadly. Imperium vs Brawling Brutes was just a rehash of Sheamus and Walter's usual, bland routine. I at least enjoyed some individual attacks from Sheamus, Dunne, Kaiser, and Vinci, though at times their multi-man spots were too overly choreographed. A perfectly alright match at best. ***. Liv vs Ronda was bad. Liv -- the supposed babyface -- looked INCREDIBLY weak and unheroic with her use of weapons and cheap shots, and her feeble selling was embarrassing. Ronda's arrogant and vicious heel character work was actually okay, and her striking and grappling was mostly good, too. Unfortunately, their chemistry was very poor, resulting in many awkward moments **. Kross vs McIntyre was a fine brawl but definitely really stupid at points. They occasionally showed good intensity or physicality, but most of the match was really repetitive with mediocre strap attacks or mediocre messy-brawling. Kross constantly giving McIntyre chances to recover was really stupid, and the finish with Scarlett pepper-spraying McIntyre to gift Kross the win made McIntyre look really stupid for being so unprepared and easily taken out. **1/2. Bianca vs Bayley was another fine but completely unspectacular match. Ladder matches are just dead these days, since absolutely everything has been done with them a million times, so none of their spots here were remotely interesting, and some looked outright lame and/or weak. There were quite a few awkward or even REALLY awkward spots and moments. which likewise brought the match down. The only truly impressive thing here were Bianca's few athletic-displays, and those still weren't anything special. **1/2. Edge vs Balor wasn't awful, since it was at least coherent, but it was definitely pretty bad, featuring extremely dull brawling, melodramatic overacting, and a bunch of overbooked interference. Firstly, the 'I Quit' stipulation sucks, allowing the matches to be far too long and dull. I liked some of Balor's heelish confidence and a few of his moves, but he was mostly shackled by having to play the 'methodical' heel. Edge's in-ring was even more limited, and his character work was laughable with what he thinks passes for 'emotional' acting. **1/4. Rollins vs Riddle was yet more bad wrestling. DC as the special guest ref who constantly interfered in the wrestling itself for no real reason was moronic (STOP GETTING BETWEEN THE WRESTLERS AND JUST OFFICIATE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET HIT, DC). Rollins' attacks all looked really bad as usual, lacking any real impact or intensity, and his heel character work was like a hokey 90s cartoon villain, also just as usual. Riddle was forgettable but inoffensive, at least. Their finisher spam really sucked and made the match feel like a joke. **. Bray's return with all his 'dark' and 'demented' imagery was good for a laugh. At least now I can rest assured that he won't be appearing in -- and thus diminishing the quality of -- any of the promotions I actually like."
[9.0] "At first I wanted to give the show an 8 but the return of Bray bumps it up by 1. 2 great matches, 1 very good, 1 that was fine and 2 that were pretty meeeh."
[7.0] "A mixed bag, there was some good stuff, the brutes vs imperium was a lot of fun, Edge vs Balor was very good, predictable but it's not a bad thing cause it was logical and gave Finn a huge win he needed, and Bayley vs Bianca was very good, I was disappointed that Bayley didn't win but the match itself was very good, generally women's ladder matches are sloppy and messy cause they don't have the experience to know how to do theme right but Bayley is a veteran so she made sure the match wasn't that And the bad stuff, Liv vs Ronda was awful and ended abruptly, Drew vs kross started cold, became increasingly hot as the crowd started getting into it but ended abruptly after scarlet used a spray that didn't cause a DQ, and the main event could've been decent if the crowd was alive, which they weren't, they shouldn't try MMA stuff with wrestling cause even when the crowd is hot, it'll be decent at best, it would be like if you're watching the godfather and suddenly they starts showing pages of the book, I understand trying new stuff but this doesn't work, it worked during the pandemic cause there were no crowds And the final sequence of the show was utter magic, the return of Bray after all the teases almost made up for the bad stuff and was brilliant The crowd was colder than a corpse and massively affected a show with such a build Above average show overall, the good stuff was really good and you should check it out but the bad and underwhelming stuff dragged it down"
"Above average enjoyable show from top to bottom like most PPV's in the Levesque-era so far. I'm sure the matches connected more with the WWE hardcore fanbase since the crowd seemed way into it but I just couldn't muster up as much excitement for any of these matches despite following along with the build the past couple weeks. Balor/Edge dragged way too long and there was a bit too much plunder for my liking. Bray being back is what it is. I couldn't give 2 hoots but I'm sure a lot of people do care about it. Hopefully Levesque keeps the reins on the Fiend silliness. (7/10)"
Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match (****3/4).
[8.0] "All the matches were good, except the match between Rousey and Morgan. Best match of the night, clearly The Brawling Brutes vs Imperium. The finish of the "I quit" match was great. The end was incredible with the return of Bray Wyatt. Very nice PPV."
[7.0] "Brays back woooooh, but yeah, the opener was the best match Liv vs Ronda was the worst. Main event was decent, same with Finn vs Edge. Belair vs Bayley was fun, and Kross vs Drew was kinda disappointing. A pretty good watch mostly!"
[8.0] "We mostly got what we wanted. I think Bayley should win the title and Liv should defend his title, but looking at the end of the fight I think that defeat will bring a change of character for Liv. As for the rest of the results, I have no complaints. I liked the audiovisual setting. and finally we get Wyatt back. I'm happy."
[6.0] "It peaked right at the opener. It wasn't a bad booking decision or a botched match, but maybe that's the downside of having gimmick matches just for the sake of having gimmick matches."
[10.0] "Four great matches and incredibly booked return.Greatest Extreme Rules PPV of all time.Opener was MOTN but apart from SmackDown Women? s Title and Kross vs Drew, every match was great"
[6.0] "The best match by far was the opener of the Brawling Brutes vs Imperium, which was genuinely great. Ronda vs Liv was a mess. Kross vs McIntyre was really boring. Bianca vs Bayley ladder match was good but the wrong person won. Finn vs Edge had too much melodrama and dragged but was fine. Riddle vs Rollins was also pretty good, if a little underwhelming. And to close out the show, Bray Wyatt made his long-awaited return in what was a cool moment. Overall, this was a mixed show saved by one great match. 6/10"
[3.0] "The opening match was the only match worth even checking out. Watch Bray? s return on YouTube if you are that interested. Not sure what was going on with Ronda and Liv. The white rabbit payoff was known before the show went on the air, so it? s impact was blunted and I was very disappointed it wasn? t something new, just the same old Firefly Funhouse characters that everyone was sick of before."
[8.0] "Another very fun PPV from WWE! Brawl match was very fun and enjoyable, and a GREAT way to kick off the show. (8/10) Smackdown Women's Title was okay, felt a little sloppy at some parts but a few cool spots too. (5/10) Strap Match was alright, had some brutal hits and slaps with the strap, and moved the rivalry of Kross and McIntyre forward. (6/10) RAW Women's Title was pretty good. There was some sloppiness, but there were also enough spots to make me overall satisfied. (7/10) I Quit Match was MOTN for me, AMAZING match in terms of action and storytelling with Judgement Day, Edge, & The Mysterios. (9/10) Fight Pit was a very fun main event and evened the score between Riddle and Rollins, leading me to think that they will have a tiebreaker at Crown Jewel. (8/10) And the return of Bray Wyatt, as well as a seemingly formation of a stable with him and several unknown people was INCREDIBLY executed and an amazing way to close the show! Awesome event!"
"The Donnybrook was a pretty good fun brawl. The rest of the show was pretty rough, at times interminable. Do not be fooled, this is not a show you need to see."
[8.0] "Was really excited for this ppv and it looked like it was gonna be great after the first match, then the next two matches were disappointing but it finished very strong. The six man tag match was great as always, then I was not happy with Ronda winning the title again, I think Liv Morgans reign has been trash because her only feud was with Ronda Rousey and they dont work well together. I like Liv Morgan but they booked her to look really weak during her reign. Then the Karrion Kross match was pretty boring. I like the way they? re presenting him most of the time but I dont like that hes not threatening at all without Scarlet bailing him out of everything. Then the ladder match was pretty good, I want Bayley to win the title but I just couldnt see it happening tonight so im glad Bianca won. And that KOD with the ladder was nasty. The I Quit match had me really invested. This made the judgement day look really good. And finally the main event. The fight pit was really good, I wanted Rollins to win but after that senton from Riddle he deserved it. And then BRAY WYATT, I thought MJF was gonna be the best return of the year but somehow Bray had one of the best returns of recent memory. I am so excited for Raw to see where this goes."
[6.0] "I was mostly disappointed by the show. Opener was great and main event delivered some good action, yet both were not on the level of best WWE PPV matches of the year. Everything else felt underdeveloped, which is a shame. Last minutes of the show are instantly iconic for sure."
[6.0] "Gunther is literally incapable of putting on a bad performance. Imperium vs Brawling Brutes was great. Liv Morgan vs Ronda Rousey was whatever. Drew vs Kross was kinda lame with a bad finish. The ladder match was alright but I was quite scared for Bayley with the move at the end of the match. I thought she might have gotten her fingers stuck under the ladder and that move definitely shouldn't be allowed. The I quit match was kinda lame first half and it improved as it went on. It was kinda funny how frequent they asked the wrestlers if they wanted to quit. Riddle vs Rollins was good but I wouldn't say it was great. Overall, I would rate it 6/10."
[7.0] "I am between a 6 or a 7 for this show, the opener was a top 3 WWE match for the year, and the very ending show was about as hot as WWE has felt since early 2019. A 7 feels kinda generous since everything in between the start and ending was so middling, including the main event match itself which was just decent. Ladder match was disappointing and they effectively buried Damage CTRL, and the other womens title match was a mess. The I Quit match was pretty good, but way too long, but then the last few minutes of melodrama really saved it with a legit great finish. Made Judgment Day look like actual evil people, so that was good. So a bit of a mixed bag, with some mid and some really damn good stuff. 7/10"
[7.0] "I was prepared to not like the reveal at the end, but that pop was pretty special. Hopefully they can capitalise on the buzz. The rest of the PPV was alright but they've had better this year. Not a big fan of WWE gimmick events, they always feel flat and a bit overproduced. But at least they stayed (mostly) clear of anything too silly. Was a solid show outside of a couple of duds. Opener was a lot of fun and the ladder match was good"
[5.0] "I thought this was one of the weaker shows of the HHH Era. Your average RAW these days tends to have matches that are better than pretty much anything on this show. This obviously had the bigger high spots given the PPV gimmick, but overall I thought a lot of the matches just didn't come together very well at all. There were several lengthy moments throughout the event where things just really dragged. It was watchable, and there were a couple matches worth checking out (with the opener being the high point - even if I found even that to be overrated), but overall you're not missing much here if you only check out the White Rabbit reveal and skip the rest."
[7.0] "I was really hyped for this PLE and it didn't quite live up to it unfortunately. It peaked with the first match, which was great, the rest had their moments."
[8.0] "Match of the night was easily the opener. Down spots: Liv Morgan match was predictably terrible, strap match was boring and lacked creativity with a bad finish, fight pit match was blah with an anticlimactic finish. And that Bray Wyatt return was predictably way too try hard. Still a good overall PPV though"
[9.0] "Except for two fights that they could not meet (neither with my expectations, nor in general for the public), this event was undoubtedly excellent and fun. The logical results were given and the story told in the ring proved it. What to say about the in-ring quality, very very good."
[4.0] "This was the worst ppv under the Triple H era. The opening match and the main event was good, it's the rest of the card that was either average or terrible. Also the thing about Bray is his presentation has never been the problem, it's what happens when the bell rings is the problem"
[9.0] "Oh god what a PPV was it, I had 3 amazing hours by watching it, in short: Matches delivered, every of them was atleast 7 for me, the opener is a fucking 5 star, this show is almost perfect, and also also, Bray Wyatt. Just two words, Bray Wyatt. This Segment was MINDLESS, IT WAS SOMETHING I CAN'T PUT INTO WORDS, TOO MUCH GOOD, 11/10 FREAKING 11/10 FOR THIS FUCKING SEGMENT WHAT MADE THIS EXTREME RULES, if two matches, rousey vs morgan and kross vs drew were slightly better, I would give this Extreme Rules 10/10, but there was 2 little matches that both of them downgrading the rate by 0, 5 so yeah I give it 9/10 which is still wholesome, and also, I love HHH thank you, HHH era in WWE... RULES! just like Extreme Rules Ruled. Loved the show, I recommend to watch Extreme Rules, amazing night."
[9.0] "Why am I not surprised that a pay per view turns out to be great whenever Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar either fuck off, or aren't the primary focus respectively? Anyway, the I Quit match with Edge vs Finn Balor, the 6-tag Donnybrook match, and the Fight Pit with Matt Riddle vs Seth Rollins were awesome contests. Bianca Belair's invincible booking can fuck off though. She won with a 1v3 situation when Io Shirai and Dakota Kai were BOTH 100% fresh (while adding along the fact that Asuka + Alexa Bliss + Candice LeRae weren't even in the arena too). That alone takes away 1 point for this fun ppv. Bayley should've ended Bianca Belair's awful reign of terror tonight."
[8.0] "Excellent and memorable event. All the matches went as I expected, and I will not discredit everyone's work just because of the Smackdown Women's Title match. Of course, Wyatt's return lived up to my expectations."
[3.0] "Amazing first match, and then nothing but misses or things that met basic expectations and not much more. Most matches fell into the traps of their stipulations, doing the basic form of that match without anything unique or brutal to stand out. A couple real clangers in there but the Donnybrook is one of the best WWE matches of the year and the Fight Pit was something different, despite being stylistically awkward,"
[9.0] "Every match delivered what I expected, an Incredible hart hitting opener, a more than decent extreme rules match, and OK but hart hitting Strap match, the I Quit match was the only match the overdelivered to me with the great third act, the Fight Pit was really good, but that closing angle will be something to be remember with the return of one of the most (if not the MOST) Incredibly gifted minds in wrestling"
[5.0] "First match was good as predicted, Bianca/Bayley was pretty good, everything else was not great. Main event was underwhelming, the inclusion of Cormier didn't feel super impactful, and the ending was flat despite it being an impressive sequence. Bray tricked the fans into being over again."
[9.0] "Gotta admit for a second there I thought it was gonna be Joe Gacy, thank fuck it wasn? t. BRAY IS BACK HOLY SHIT. Overall that was a crazy ppv as expected. Not very familiar with every Extreme Rules shows but I would argue this is the best one so far? Easily. Match of the night was Edge vs Finn for me, Imperium vs BB was close. BRAY IS BACK!"
