[8.0] "What a PPV, all matches were amazing to solid at best. Two matches stand out the most this PPV Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns & Sheamus vs Gunther."
[6.0] "After the mediocre Summerslam, this is more of a step forward. Without Banks, Lynch or Charlotte, the ladies are unfortunately the Achilles heel of the show today, because neither the opener nor the title match can convince me in any way. The hard slap-fest between Gunther and Sheamus, which is clearly the MOTN for me, is more impressive, closely followed by the confident performance of Rollins and Riddle. The tag match is too face-heavy for me, the main event is too obvious and at times also ponderous, especially as McIntyre as a Scot doesn't really have to be a Welsh fan favorite, especially not in times of a Brexit and a Scottish public that is divided about it. Regardless, the setting is at least nice and the action is ultimately okay. Quite a passable event."
[9.0] "An absolutely wonderful show and my first live PPV. Sheamus/Gunther was a tremendous match as was the main event even with the insane Tyson Fury sing along to cap it off."
[10.0] "Baszler Vs Morgan is mostly just fine, but both men's and women's tag matches were real good, Riddle Vs Rollins and Roman Vs Drew are both really fantastic, Gunther Vs Sheamus is absolutely phenomenal and the UK crowd helped elevate the show. Overall WWE Clash At The Castle (2022) is a really brilliant show."
[10.0] "I was lucky enough to attend this event, what a show. Every match delivered, lots of special moments - almost perfect, if only Drew had won. The three matches of the night were absolutely Drew vs. Roman, Seth vs. Riddle & especially Gunther vs. Sheamus for the IC title, which is possibly my very favourite match of all-time. Highly recommended!"
[8.0] "This was a really good show! The crowd really helped make it, but the pacing was also great and the matches were really good. It's definitely one of my favourite WWE PPVs in recent years. Gunther vs Seamus was fantastic, but then you also had two other really good matches with Seth vs Riddle and Roman vs Drew. It was a really fun show."
[8.0] "A very good show that had a very hyped up crowd from the start to the stunning finish. The match of the night is definitely Gunther/Sheamus who had an incredibly hard hitting brawl. A few debuts on this show that were pretty cool were Giovanni Vinci and Solo at the end, but Dominik's turn on Edge and his dad might have been the moment of the night considering his character development from that moment moving forward. Rollins vs. Riddle was a great and emotional match that seemed to fly by and was very fun to watch. No less than 3.5 stars."
[9.0] "i think this is legit the best main roster PPV in the history of the WWE. 3 SENSATIONAL matches on this card that on any other card would 100 percent be the best match of the night but we were lucky enough to have all those in one night. I decided to watch this back even though its still pretty fresh in my mind because of the current clash at the castle show. I think this is my favorite show of all time i love it so much. Just amazing vibes at this time honestly we were all filled with so much hope when hhh took over and this show showed us what wed be expecting here on out. 9.5/10"
[10.0] "What a breeze of a show to watch. The crowd and atmosphere was spot on the entire show. The opening 6-Woman Tag was a great showcase of all talent involved if not a little disjointed at times, still a fun watch and the first time all members of Damage CTRL teamed together. GUNTHER/Sheamus will go down as one of the best bouts in history, an all out war between two people who brought Strong/King's Road style to a mainstream WWE audience. Morgan/Baszler was solid yet unspectacular. Edge/Rey Mysterio Vs Judgment Day is a nice paced gem with 4 standout wrestlers. This was all a catalyst for the moment the Judgment Day found their groove, as Dirty Dom is born, turning on Edge & his father to breakout on his own. Honestly one of the most memorable and well-done Heel Turns in recent memory. Rollins/Riddle is a very underrated match that I don't hear mentioned much but they took the story they were telling on TV and perfectly crafted a match to fit it. Also, Riddle's Patrick Star & Rollins' Rocketman gear was awesome. With the benefit of hindsight, the main event was everything you could want. Great in-ring work, high drama, and a finish no one saw coming. The less said about after the match the better. Couldn't recommend this whole show enough."
[7.0] "Great debut for Damage CTRL, they looked like stars. It's a shame Tegan came back after this because if she was able to be in this match it would've been amazing. GUNTHER/Sheamus was a classic, I really liked Liv/Shayna honestly. Liv's reign was booked horribly but this was the one shining light. Edge and JD feud wasn't my cup of tea and the Dominik turn was cool at the time but after two weeks I regretted feeling that way. I forgot Seth and Riddle worked this show honestly. Main event was great apart from the ending, Drew was the only one apart from Cody who I thought could have beaten Roman. I don't like how Solo's NXT gimmick got completely changed and he still kept the dumb name that signified that gimmick, when being in the Bloodline."
[9.0] "WWE best show in years it was evident that triple h had just become head of creative his 2nd ppv in charge coming of a good summerslam even though Vince booked it like crap, it had a summerslam 1992 feeling to it probably the 2nd best uk show wwe has put on of all time , unlike Aew going on overkill, wwe had like 5 matches spread out , the main event was good right guy won Roman reigns who might beat hulks record we will see, and the debut of the enforcer solo , the macth that stole the show and as my type of macth had a hard hitting stan Hanson, bruiser broody vibe to it , gunther and shemus put on wwe best macth of the year it was a hard hitting slug fest from start to finish which looked realistic just like the pure wrestling looked in the territory days and life champ lean Edwards was in the house"
[8.0] "Six Man Tag Team Match: Really fun match, I wasnt expecting this level of synchronicity and connection between inner teammates and clashing between them. Good systematic work from both teams to start the show. [***3/4]; Gunther vs. Sheamus: Well, I wasnt too much into the match, for sure it was brutal and a really heavy battle between two colossal wrestlers, but I think maybe it lacked of a better ending. The crowd was really hot and that really helped to increase the emotion around the match. Anyway, it wasnt bad, neither good, a little upper than average. [***1/2]; Liv Morgan vs. Shayna Baszler: I wasnt expecting the end of the match, that was a really high point of the event. However, the interactions lacked of a lot of charisma and emotion, as almost every Shayna match. Watching Liv as a champ its great, but I dont really see her as a strong champ. I hope she gets better wih time. Average match. [***1/4]; Edge & Rey Mysterio vs. Damian Priest & Finn Balor: Pretty enterntaining tag team match, with intensity that went higher and higher with every moment of the match. And now the beggininig of a new era for Domynik, wonderful storytelling. [****1/4]; Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle: My favorite match of the night. They doesnt need to have a title fo make such a wonderful battle. Both of them looked great at the end of the match, pretty strong, and for sure this let the path to continue their rivalry, or to end it today. Really nice match. [****1/2]; Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre: A really nice way to end this event. Began really slow, with a lot level of expectations by my side, but then they increased the intensity, and with the help of the crowd that was very into the match all the time, ended in a pretty acceptable way. The presence of Theory was very unneccesary but well, it was all part of the show. Another good match for the Tribal Chief. [****1/2]; The event overall was good, there were no bad matches at all, it was very pretty satisfactory to watch wrestling again and to see this quality of events. [****]"
[8.0] "One of my favourite shows of the modern era. The crowd was absolutely phenomenal and their reaction alone allowed some of the matches to be elevated to the next level. Gunther vs Sheamus stole the show and it was a great way to establish the Austrian as the important champion. Both of the tag matches were fun and Rollins vs Riddle lived up to their promos leading up to the match. The main event was another Roman classic with one of the best near falls in recent memory. Great show, great atmosphere, really enjoyed it."
"This PPV is what makes me watch wrestling again. The build up for some of the matches were great. I legitimately thought Drew was the one who would beat Roman. The hot crowd, the quality of the matches, the storytelling, almost everything was great. The crowd sang Edges song, Dominiks heel turn, Seths first PPV win in 2022, Solos main roster debut, a lot of memorable moments happened. I am just curious what would happen if Drew beat Roman."
[9.0] "The best WWE PLE of 2022. The main event was an absolute classic. I really wanted McIntyre to win but I'm happy for Solo Sikoa making his debut in an impactful way by helping Reigns get a cheap win to retain. It just would've been nice to see McIntyre get his big crowning moment in front of the UK fans. However, Triple H has since showed us that he knows what he's doing with the booking of Reigns' record breaking title run. Gunther and Sheamus put on an undeniable banger that might have been Sheamus' best WWE match ever and was another example of how good Gunther is after his insane NXT/NXT UK run. One of the best ever Intercontinental Title matches, without a doubt. I get so excited watching brutal matches like that, it's awesome. I was there in the crowd and they popped for it big time. It was amazing. I also really enjoyed Rollins' and Riddle's match. Riddle played the valiant babyface well and it gelled well with Rollins' sly heel tactics and trash talking which scored him a major win. Those three matches alone made this one of the great PLEs of all time and a night I'll never forget. Another stand out moment came when Dominik Mysterio turned on Edge and his father, Rey. They've been teasing it for so long and I called it to my friends before the show so when it happened, I popped like crazy. The show was about 3 and a half hours long but the pacing was so good that it didn't feel that long. There was no moment where I felt bored or uninterested. It was just a blast to be there. The crowd were crazy loud and proved that the UK deserve more large scale PLEs. One of the best nights of my life! I would love an annual WWE PLE in a UK Stadium. They don't even need to just run the Principality Stadium. AEW are running All In at Wembley Stadium soon and it would be sick to see WWE return there too. I think we proved that we've earned it. Plus, it's great for us to not have to stay up all night for a PLE because I get tired easily! I'm not able to attend Money in the Bank next weekend, but here's hoping it's just as good!"
[9.0] "Easily the best WWE show of the 2022. There weren't any bad matches. The IC match was amazing and easily my favourite WWE match of the year and one of the best main roster matches I have seen. The last two matches were also really good but the highlight of the show was Gunther and Sheamus. It was an instant classic."
[8.0] "Triple h had an awesome show, why fucking It all? The show was really enjoyable but the main event and the scottish karaoke... Holy God, they were One of the worst think I Ve haver seen in a PLE/PPV! ***3/4"
[10.0] "It was a phenomenal show, I'm lucky to have seen it in person, and almost every single match was amazing, except perhaps for the Liv vs Shayna match."
[7.0] "Easily the best WWE show of the year. [Six woman Tag] - 2.75 stars. [WALTER vs Sheamus] - 4 stars (Match of the Night). [Liv Morgan vs Shayna] - 2.25 stars (Worst of the Night). [Edge/Rey vs Judgement Day] - 3.75 stars. [Rollins vs Riddle] - 3.75 stars. [Roman vs Drew] - 3.5 stars. Average match rating: 3.33 of 5 stars (or 6.66 of 10). Rounded to 7 for Cagematch."
Also, ne runde Sache! Wenngleich man auch sagen muss, dass der Abstand zu den besten Shows von AEW oder New Japan immer noch erheblich ist!"
[9.0] "If it weren't for the Liv vs Shayna match this would have been an easy 10/10 event for me. Attended it live and it was an unbelivable wrestling experience from top to bottom. The opening match, the IC match and the main event were all absolutely insane."
[8.0] "A very fun and entertaining show which ended on an incredibly sour note in my opinion. To me there was no bad match at all, I'd argue pretty much all of it delivered when it came to bell-to-bell action. The highlight of the night and perhaps the year so far for me being the reuniting of Imperium and the excellent match between Sheamus and Gunther, my match of the year so far. The ending very much hurt the show in my eyes, sacrificing the feelgood moment of Drew finally getting his moment with a crowd for an elongation to the already long in the tooth Bloodline storyline. It shouldn't put too much of a dampener on the events that preceded it, but it certainly hurt the show. I feel that whilst SummerSlam 1992 lives on in legend for the main event, this show will be more fondly remembered for being the first proper UK PPV in a long time. Which is a bit of a shame if you ask me. Sure, lots of memorable stuff happened such as the aforementioned Intercontinental Championship bout, Damage CTRL's in-ring debut together and Dominik Mysterio's heel turn. However, the show just falls short of an all-timer due to the deflating end to it. One positive throughout though was the crowd. Who cleared demonstrated why UK PPV's should be a yearly occurrence for not just WWE, but other companies as well."
[9.0] "This was the first PPV where I could actually watch at a normal time without it being absurdly stupid clock in the morning however this was the first PPV back where Triple H actually booked the whole show with what matches he though suited the card the best and it was a great one. Damage CTRL winning was very necessary to put over the faction against three former women world champions in quite a solid affair however felt that Alexa Bliss was the major slacker in this match. Everyone was asking for Gunther vs. Sheamus ever since Gunther was called up to Smackdown and that is what Triple H gave us. A certified Gunther vs. Sheamus 5 star banger. As an extra bonus this was the first time in a long time where the Intercontinental title was actually on a PPV and felt like the title had prestige once again. The crowd made this match feel homely and exactly showed why wrestling is an amazing sport with the best fans. The next few matches were solid with the heel turn of Dominik Mysterio which I did not actually expect at that moment in time. Rollins and Riddle put on a good match, started quite slow but picked up in pace very quickly. Here comes the reason why this PPV did not achieve the 10 star rating.. Drew McIntyre winning here would of been the icing on the cake and would of caused an absolute explosion in the arena however they bring in Solo Sikoa to help make Roman Reigns retain despite the point that the Bloodline was not allowed at ringside. Oh, Tyson Fury punching Theory was fun as well."
[10.0] "Woaw it was a really good show the rivalry between Damage CTRL and the Belair clan is just beginning and it's already a very good match, what about the masterclass match for the intercontinental title, big kicker match. Even the Liv VS Shayna game surprised me that it was a good decision of Triple H to win clean Liv. The Edge & Mysterio match was good but Dominique's Heel Turn surprised me. Seth Rollins the best technician at WWE only does Masterclasses from Wrestlemania no matter against whom! A quality 30-minute Main Event the right person won while leaving Drew strong, Solo Sikoa's arrival in the Bloodline is what I've been waiting for for so long and then his will give Samy the opportunity to team up with Kevin Owens. The best PLE since Wrestlemania for me ! 10/10"
[6.0] "Probably one of the worst Triple H booked PPV but still relatibely alright 2 Very good matches ( Walter vs Sheamus and Riddle vs Rollins ) a good opener and a receptive crowd ( besides the finish of the last matches ) . There's worse way to spend 3 Hours than Watching Clash at The Castle . The end tho was terrible and hurt a lot MvIntyre character"
[9.0] "A fantastic event in front of a red hot crowd, with two amazing matches (Sheamus v Gunther, Rollins v Riddle), a Main Event that mostly delivered, and everything else being at least serviceable. I highly recommend this entire event, it had a great atmosphere in addition to several great matches."
"Alexa Bliss, Asuka & Bianca Belair vs. Damage Control: **3/4 Gunther vs. Sheamus: **** Liv Morgan vs. Shayna Baszler: *** Edge & Rey Mysterio vs. The Judgment Day: ***1/2 Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle: ***3/4 Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre: ***** Event: 8, 5/10"
[8.0] "Literally not an ounce of fat on this show, probably one of WWEs best showcases in a while but goddamn if that ending to the Main Event did not leave a sour taste in my mouth."
[6.0] "I'm sorry, but right after fourth match it just feels like Vince McMahon's WWE again. I mean, Walter vs. Sheamus was an absolute best in a whole show, just the rest of it is just kinda... okay at best. Six woman tag match - too long, but okay with a right result. Liv Morgan as a champion I can't stand, I don't believe that she is a top of the Smackdown women division, especially in comparison to Shayna Baszler. Dominik's heel turn - idiocy, which not only was served terribly throughout the feud, but also played awfully in this match itself. And the main event killed all the remnants of enjoyment in me. Drew McIntyre should have won under this circumstances, and nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, justifies such a stupid decision by the bookers."
Dennoch echt in Ordnung.
[7.0] "Opening match was too long. Dakota Kai is too sloppy in the ring. The Intercontinental match was excellent. The Smackdown women's title was dull. Glad Baszler lost though. Judgement Day vs Mysterios needs to end, but looks like they are going deeper into that hole. Rollins vs Riddle was good. The main event was going really well until shenanigans. Overall a fun show. It just feels like WWE are wasting time until they can take the belts off Roman at Wrestlemania."
[8.0] "I'm tempted to give a 9 but I don't think this is quite one for the ages. It definitely felt like Summerslam 92. WWE is on a roll with good PPVs right now and I hope they continue. Standouts are the men's titles matches. The main event had me emotionally invested like I haven't been in a long time. What a great feeling. Rollins and Riddle was also very good. Not one match was subpar; I can say the same about this year's Summerslam as well. This was a fun start-to finish watch- all recommended."
[6.0] "This show was a good start to a weekend filled with wrestling. First off, THIS CROWD RULED, Cardiff was hot for basically everything that happened and it made the show feel special. The 6 woman tag to open the show started out really fun and strong, it got sloppy near the end, went on a bit longer than it should have, and also wtf is that new theme for Damage Control? ! Nothing special but not bad. Gunther vs Sheamus is maybe the WWE match of the year so far (I think Rollins vs Cody HIAC was better, but it's CLOSE), it was hard hitting, violent, and exactly what I want from those 2 guys. Also Imperium are back yay! Liv vs Shayna was not very good, but better than expected for me, but definitely skippable. Rey and Edge vs Judgement Day kind of sucked, I'm over this feud, I'm over Judgement Day, and even though I like everyone in this match, they are all capable of so much more. Riddle vs Rollins was a lot of fun, but I wanted a more violent grudge match feel considering the build. Perfectly good ppv match, but I felt as though it didn't fit the story between these two. Roman vs Drew was a solid match, however, it went on for too long, this should have been a 20 minute match, not a 30 minute match. Theory getting clocked by Tyson Fury was honestly the highlight, and the finish with Solo Sikoa being introduced felt flat. Roman winning is the right call (Cody NEEDS to be the one to beat him) but I expect more from 2 guys as good as Roman and Drew."
[8.0] "A very solid first HHH era PPV with three solid matches and 3 ok matches Sheamus vs Gunther was an awesome brawl fight Rollins vs Riddle: Rollins is always great in the ring. A reliable person for a solid match Drew vs Roman: was a surprisingly great match though wish Drew won, but losing by the Bloodline cheating at least allowed Drew to look strong womens 6 man tag: didn't really live up to the build but can't complain Edge and Rey vs the Judgement Day: was also alright but forgettable match"
[8.0] "Cardiff got a super holiday in its native land and the company really gave everything to ensure that everyone had purely positive emotions. Of course Solo Sikoa in one was able to spoil the impression of the show with his actions and as a result, as if a good show ended sadly, but due to the fact that the rest of the show was even cooler and, in principle, all the controversial moves were not done so badly, you're still glad that this show exists. The IC trophy match was excellent, in general, all the matches were above average, there were no weak points, all the fighters tried and it is clear that there was freedom in the ring. At the same time, the hand of the master HHH is also visible. After such an event, you already believe more that everything is getting better for the company. Unfortunately, the moment with the transfer of titles to Drew McIntyre was missed in the most insulting way."
[6.0] "A fairly enjoyable show that was ruined by WWE continuing to only care about the american fanbase. Would recommend the show until the last 20 minutes."
"Gunther vs Sheamus is seriously my match of the year, Will Ospreay is my favorite wrestler, but this kind of match is my favorite, just two men going out there and beating each other to a pulp, wrestling beauty."
[5.0] "This show certainly felt big and grand, but you only really to need to see that IC Title match, it was fascinating to see WALTER have his type of a match on a stadium show. Io/Bayley/Kai trio felt very rough around the edges but I'm sure that with time they'll become truly great, they're too good not to. Liv Morgan tried to have a performance of her career out there, but it was just another **½ match. Rollins/Riddle just didn't click (at least with me) and that Main Event pretty much summarized modern WWE and everything that's wrong with it."
[8.0] "My first live WWE pay-per-view in like ages, and that didn't disappoint. We got an instant-classic between Gunther and Sheamus and a masterpiece of psychology with Rollins and Riddle. Rest of the card delivered. Main-event was a typical overbooking shit, but nevermind. That was something to hear that 62.000 people in UK. Insane atmosphere. Good to have a nice time watching WWE, it's been so long since I enjoyed a WWE show. Maybe, thanks Papa H ?"
[7.0] "Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss vs Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY **** Gunther vs Sheamus ****1/2 Liv Morgan vs Shayna Baszler **** Edge and Rey Mysterio vs Damian Priest and Finn Balor ***1/2 Matt Riddle vs Seth Rollins *** Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns N/R a very fun show that is soured by its misguided ending."
[8.0] "Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss & Asuka vs Bailey, IYO SKY e Dakota Kay [ *** 1/4 ] Sheamus vs Gunther [ **** ] Shayna Baszler vs Liv Morgan [ *** 1/2 ] Edge & Rey Mysterio vs The Judgement Day [ *** 3/4 ] Seth Rollins vs Matt Riddle [ **** 1/4 ] Drew McIntyre va Roman Reigns [ **** ]"
[8.0] "This PPV would've been perfect had they just let McIntyre win the title against Roman but I thought the match and the drama was great, so I'm not gonna complain too much. It also probably helps Romans, one of my favorite wrestlers. Gunther Sheamus was MOTN, the post match standing ovation for Sheamus was even better.Dominik still does nothing for me but that clothesline when he hit Rey was great. Rollins Riddle should've had more intensity but it was still good, Liv Bazler was fine, the 6 women tag to open the show had great energy, wish the match was a bit better tho.Matches from best to worst: Sheamus/Gunther ****3/4, Reigns/McIntyre ****1/4, Rollins/Riddle ****1/4, Judgment Day/Rey & Edge ***1/2, 6 tag ***1/2, Morgan/Bazler **1/2"
[10.0] "Best match of the year so far:- 6 Woman Tag Team Match: ****1/4, Gunther vs Sheamus: ****1/2, Liv Morgan vs Shayna Baszler: ***3/4, Edge & Rey Mysterio vs Judgement Day: ***3/4, Matt Riddle vs Seth Rollins: ****, Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre: *****"
[8.0] "Nice short premium live event. Not a single match disappointed. Do not know what they Tyson Fury/Drew McIntyre segment at the end was supposed to be though. No UK wrestlers winning was a surprising decision. Match of the night was clearly Sheamus vs Gunther but even the worse match was still good."
[10.0] "This was a incredible ppv I was not expecting it to be this good. All the match on the card are good to fantastic. There are three matches that were very good to instant classic, The first being the Ic title match and instant classic, next being riddle, vs seth and then the undisputed championship match. The other thing that made this ppv so special was the crowd was into the whole show and was energetic fantastic ppv probably best of the year."
[8.0] "It was a nice show. Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY versus Alexa Bliss, Asuka & Bianca Belair was pretty solid as a opener. Sheamus versus Gunther was one of the best matches of the evening if you like hard hitting performance. Liv Morgan versus Shayna Baszler was almost the baddest match of the evening. Edge & rey versus Judgment Day was only good at the end after the match. Seth versus Riddle the best match of the evening. Roman versus Drew was kinda fun but alot of stalling and the failed cash-in attempt again was kinda good. Only never let people sing that cannot sing."
[9.0] "The lame ending stopped it from being one of WWE's all-time greatest pay-per-views. Otherwise, Gunther vs Sheamus was the kind of stiff, brutal war we all wanted it to be, Rollins and Riddle told an immaculate story, and hell, all the other matches held their own too."
[7.0] "Good show overall. Good matches throughout the show with each match given time and even too much time in some cases. Was not a fan of how so many of the matches just had the heel dominating most of the match for the face to come back or get a hot tag. That really kills the crowd for that portion of the match however this crowd was amazing. It was also a bit boring to see that same match type one after another. I thought the IC title match was very overrated but still enjoyable and good to see the title now have value again. A problem that is still present with WWE ppv's is the terrible pacing. 3 and a half hours for 6 matches is ridiculous. It should not take that long for only 6 matches. There are so many video packages and recaps and stoppages that really pad out the time. Takeovers used to be around 2 and a half hours with 5 or 6 matches so they really need to sort it out. Overall good and enjoyable show with some problems that i hope are solved going forward under triple H."
[4.0] "Opening match had its moments, but also had numerous problems. WALTER vs Sheamus was MOTN. Liv vs Shayna was poor and Liv is totally unbelievable in her role. Mysterio/Edge vs Judgement Day was a TV match and I couldn't care less about the Dominik Mysterio heel turn that could be seen coming from space. Riddle vs Rollins was good but should have been more of a fight. The main event and post match sing along were an abomination. This was my first non-rumble WWE ppv in over 4 years and it certainly didn't blow me away. Getting that ridiculous, goofy gimmick off Fabian Aichner and reuniting him with Imperium helped elevate the show, even if I won't get to see them in action much as I won't watch Smackdown, but with only a third of the matches being good and the main event leaving a massively sour taste in my mouth I can't say that this was an overall positive watch."
[8.0] "Very good show, best in a while, but overrated in my opinion. I don't think the Gunther match reached the MOTY heights than many apparently feel it did and the main event could have been somewhat of a classic but for booking decisions."
[8.0] "It was a great ppv, but I think the end should be with Drew McIntyre champion of the world. Him singing with Tyson Fury wasn't what what I'll call a great ending. Gunther and Sheamus did the match of the night and Seth and Riddle did awsome as well. Awsome ppv but it could be a 10. Shout out to the british crowd!"
[8.0] "Nice PPV. The fact that Drew didn't won that ruin a bit the PPV. Bayley did an incredible job with the public. We need more PPV in the UK or in Europe. Crowd was on fire. Best match : Gunther vs Sheamus. Worse match : Baszler vs Liv Morgan."
[8.0] "The 1st full WWE show I've watched in years, and after long time of hating the product, it seems like things are genuinely getting better. The opening six women tag was really fun, I enjoy the team of Shirai, Bayley & Kai a lot, and Asuka is one of the better all-round workers in the company. WALTER/Sheamus was everything I wanted it to be, my favourite WWE match in a long time. Liv/Shayna was meh in-ring, but I appreciate that there's a story being told, that as a non-WWE viewer I'm not as invested in and therefore didn't like the match like regular WWE viewres might. Edge/Mysterio tag was a lot of fun, they're both incredible workers even at their age now. Rollins/Riddle was great in-ring, but from the recaps they told a very personal feud and then Riddle comes out bubbly with his Spongebob ring-gear, and it just seems off, anyways they absolutely killed it and happy to see Rollins win. The main event.... I've never in my life wanted to see a 30 minute Roman Reigns match, and there's a reason why. It just kept on dragging on for the sole reason of filling a certain timeslot as the main event match. I get why WWE want Roman to keep the belt, probably losing in at Mania to Cody, but the way this match was built, It was so deflating seeing Drew lose, even if they had him kick out of so many big moves, it felt like his moment. Overall I'm very pleased with this show, and it just proved how awful Vince McMahon was as a booker in the past couple decades, good riddance."
[7.0] "Tyson Fury leading a sing-a-long of "American Pie" alongside the supposedly devastated (SCOTTISH! ) loser of the main event was the strangest thing I've seen this year. It's almost as if Triple H decided the best way to prevent the Cardiff crowd from revolting was to have Tyson Fury get in the ring and do something so perplexing - so downright strange - that the audience would be stunned into silence. And by gawd, it worked. Well, except for the people chanting "AEW". Gunther/Sheamus was WWE's MOTY and I will die on that hill. I also really enjoyed Riddle/Rollins. There was nothing overly offensive on the show (Tyson Fury and Drew McIntyre singing aside), but aside from the two matches mentioned everything else was just kinda there for me. The opening and closing matches were too long (though the main event definitely got going by the end) and the Judgment Day match had a dreadful "babyfaces win but get left lying" finish, straight out of the Vince McMahon playbook. By the way, congratulations to the Judgment Day for recruiting a wrestler that even his own father doesn't want to wrestle with. The thing I keep coming back to (again, aside from the deeply traumatic singing) was why you would deny both Sheamus and Drew their moments? Roman has the 700+ day title reign, so I understand that to a degre. But Sheamus winning seemed like a no brainer - especially when you can just have him drop it back to Gunther back State side. It also might've softened the blow of Drew losing in the main event. But no. Both the (almost, but not quite) local lads lost. Despite what Tyson Fury would have you believe, Drew McIntyre is actually Scottish and not American."
"this show gives me a takeover feeling, matches mean something and there isn't a match that is bad or offensive the only thing that i was 100% against is drew singing"
"I paid so much money for this only to see my two town heroes defeated and they also gave my Drew a fucking singing gimmick. I hope this company burns to ground"
"Not the biggest WWE fan but please take time of your wrestling watch schedule to watch Gunther vs. Sheamus, Riddle vs. Rollins and Reigns vs. McIntyre. Maybe the greatest WWE main event in 10+ years."
[8.0] "A highly entertaining show with no bad matches. Gunther vs Sheamus was by far the best match; Imperium being reunited was welcome news. Liv vs Shayna was the weakest, but it was still pretty good and made Liv feel like a champion for the first time. Can't really complain about anything that happened other than the distraction finish of the main event; a clean finish there would have elevated that match and the show in general. 8/10"
[6.0] "Walter vs Sheamus and Matt Riddle vs Seth Rollins carried the show. Edge pop was huge and the atmosphere for Drew in the main event was cool, but a little disapointed in the women's parts, the adds/video packages between every match is annoying, Drew mcIntyre vs Roman Reigns was too basic and the overbooking was too much. Drew shouting "Lezgo party guyz yaaaay" after his lost was hilarious and sad at the same time. Not convinced of that Papa H era yet, gonna wait some more before watching Raw and SmackDown weekly again, because if Karrion Kross and Braun Strowman are the next big programs after that..."
[8.0] "This event was actually much better than I thought and honestly I think the match quality and ambience was better than Wrestlemania was this year if you don't count the star power of everyone involved. Sheamus v. Gunther was the best match of the night and one of the best this whole year. Reigns winning although it may have disappointed the crowd I think made perfect sense for WWE and doesn't anger me as much. McIntyre is huge in the UK and felt like a great threat but I don't think he is ready to carry the titles in the States. Rollins and Riddle had another great match and stuck out for the night. Highly recommend watching especially if you are not a huge WWE guy. ***3/4"
[8.0] "I knew it was gonna be good, but not this good. Only 6 matches which gave everyone an ample amount of match time and it? s for the better. It took 3 finishers to pin Bianca, WALTER and Sheamus completely destroyed it each other, IMPERIUM is back, Liv retains in a surprisingly great match slash redemption, Dom finally turned on his dad with a very stiff clothesline, Rollins and Riddle as expected gave the match of the night, and Romain *sigh* retains but hey at least we got a Solo main roster debut from it."
[4.0] "This was indistinguishable from any of the other supposedly great shows during the modern Vince era, and in reality it was as mediocre as all those shows were too. None of these matches were outright bad, but they were basically all just average at best. The opening 6-woman tag was fine. Mostly just a showcase, with a few okay spots/exchanges but also quite a few poor and mediocre ones. God knows why it went almost 20 mins. **1/2. Gunther vs Sheamus was super disappointing. It was hyped up to be an explosive, hard-hitting MOTYC, but it obviously wasn't. Gunther can only work the mindless strikefest style, and he can't even do that now, since his strikes were 50/50 for being either decently impactful or pretty weak, and all his power moves looked pretty weak too. Sheamus was pretty forgettable, with no compelling babyface-selling and no appropriate babyface fire. I guess if you've never seen a Walter match or a single non-WWE match before then you might think this is "THE MOST HARD-HITTING MATCH EVER", but it was only alright at best. ***. Liv vs Shayna was fine, held together only by Shayna's directing. Liv looked noticeably awkward on offence and far too wimpy with her selling. Shayna was enjoyably arrogant and natural with her brutal targeting, but that then just made it all the more ridiculous that Liv was somehow the champion and able to hang with Shayna despite looking so unsuitable for any sort of truly physical competition like wrestling. Seeing Shayne have to so obviously hold back and then sell for Liv's mediocre and unconvincing attacks was a shame. At least the story of Liv trying to match Shayna's MMA-based style was decent, but her actual skills needed a lot more work to truly tell it. **1/2. Edge & Mysterio vs Priest & Balor was yet another fine but forgettable match. Mysterio hit a few fun stunts, but this was otherwise very generic tag work, with a generic heel control segment and generic corresponding face-in-peril and comeback segments from the babyfaces. **1/2. Rollins vs Riddle was another of Rollins' typically overkill, wanna-be "epics". Rollins' offence was annoyingly weak and obviously telegraphed as always, and his heel character work was dorky as ever. Riddle was no better, with heaps of really weak strikes and underwhelming submissions. Their chemistry in their 'epic' exchanges was nothing special, and they were really mindless as they just traded big moves and finishers before then immediately no-selling them. **3/4. Roman vs McIntyre was then even more overkill than Rollins vs Riddle. The first 2/3rd was a lot of fine but really basic and bland work from both men, and then the final 1/3rd was overbooked to hell with finisher spam, kick-out spam, and constant interference. Just WWE throwing everything at the wall as usual. At least it was mildly entertaining due to pure absurdity. **1/2. Vince is still there booking the company's creative while hiding in a cupboard in the back, isn't he?"
[8.0] "Good show. Gunther vs Sheamus was great. I didnt expect Roman to retain but I guess we? ll see where that goes. And the end of the show was pretty weird and seemed like something they would do off the air."
[9.0] "8.5/10 but with this being a wwe event and factoring in the crowd, I definitely round this up to a 9, Great event, Best main roster event probably in years, Good stuff here, Walter vs Sheamus MOTN"
[8.0] "The good : - Very little excess fat : 6 matches with proper builds and execution ranging from acceptable (The women's division matches and Rey and Edge vs. Judgement Day) to excellent (Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins, Sheamus vs. Gunther). - The crowd was absolutely amazing (special mention for the interactions with Bayley which were honestly one of my favourite parts of the whole PPV). - The storylines keep on being built and going in interesting directions, with the Dominik Mysterio turn and the Solo Sikoa main roster debut // The bad : - I can't help but feel like the wrong people went over in Liv vs. Shayna (probably only because I'm a massive Shayna stan and can't wait for her to go on a monster heel run on the main roster like she did in NXT) and Drew vs. Roman (although if this culminates to a rematch at Wrestlemania with Drew finally winning the belts, it could very well be worth it). - The post-match promo from Drew and Tyson Fury was probably meant to send the fans home happy, but it felt weird and unnatural. // Overall : Very good PPV with its only substantial flaws being simply a matter of preference."
[8.0] "Amazing for a WWE show, expected from the Post Vince era. Gunther vs Sheamus, Riddle vs Rollins, and the main event were all great matches. Excellently paced show and a red hot crowd."
[8.0] "A very very good PPV let down only by a somewhat screwy finish and Karaoke? The matches were all good and two were all time classic matches. A good return to the UK for WWE."
[8.0] "Austin Theory getting knocked out by Tyson Fury when trying to cash in his briefcase was like an all-time moment. That was hilarious. The main event delivered & I'm glad that Drew didn't win the title because I think they have something special going with Roman's long reign & the Bloodline story. Especially if they're trying to build to Roman Vs. The Rock at Wrestlemania. Of course, The Rock shouldn't win that either because he'll be gone but whatever. The Gunther Vs. Sheamus match was great. I really liked the Dominic heel turn too. Fun show."
[10.0] "Arguably the best show of 2022 thus far, an amazing show where almost every match delivered in some respect, particular highlights tonight were Gunther/Sheamus and Roman/Drew where although the challengers may have lost, the crowd was on their side and they both came out looking strong."
[6.0] "Great atmosphere and crowd aside, this show very much felt like a fine house show on PPV to me. Most of the matches were fine but did not feel like they got to that next gear (all mainly except Sheamus/Gunther.) Sheamus/Gunther was MOTN for me but I did have a bit of a higher expectation for it. Still a very good match. Ending to the show was brutal. I didn? t expect Drew to win but they took the audience out twice between both he and Sheamus losing. Rollins/Riddle had its moments and Roman/Drew did as well but I did feel that both could have been stronger. The rest of the show was largely fine but never really hit that next gear for me."
[10.0] "Fantastic show, probably best WWE main roster PPV in years. Crowd was really hot, and it was something that we don't see every week. Opening match was very good with right choice of winner. It looked like some match on Raw, but I don't have problem with it. This rivalry is far from over (***3/4). Intercontinental title looks VERY important now, second best IC title match ever, 30 years after best one. Amazing hard-hitting battle and Sheamus finally looks serious. Imperium returning is great, I would like to see a feud against Bloodline. MOTY contender (****3/4). Liv and Shayna were okay, Liv desperately needed clean victory and she got it. Again, this rivalry is not over (***1/4). Edge and Rey didn't need to win, but it looks that Judgment Day won the war. Dominik doesn't have to join them on first Raw, it must be slowly. Good heel turn. Match itself was good, better than SummerSlam match (***1/2). Rollins and Riddle were awesome. They destroyed each other and I can see No DQ rematch coming, maybe even a trilogy. This was good example of one heated rivalry. Rollins FINALLY won a PPV (I can't say PLE) match and Riddle looked very strong, I'm interested to see what role Randy will have in this feud (****1/2). Main event was great. Drew's entrance was awesome and Roman entering alone was unusual. Match had epic feeling, just like Survivor Series 2020, this time they were equal. It was slow and boring in first 10 minutes and then really started getting faster. Tuson Fury knocking out Theory was great. Yes, ending could be better, and yes, Solo Sikoa could have a better main roster debut, but Tribal Chief version of Roman Reigns never defeated Drew cleanly. This ending makes sense for me, because Reigns is champion for two years and only event where he can lose titles is at WrestleMania. For example, Daniel Bryan's story started at SummerSlam. Drew is still candidate for dethroning Reigns. It would make sense if Karrion Kross destroyed all of them and left, just like Kane in 1997.This may be real start of end for Reigns. (****1/2). Amazing event it almost reminds on some TakeOver shows and that's good sign. I wanted to see Gargano, Ciampa, Lashley, Owens, Styles or Zayn on this show, but it still did very well. Much better than SummerSlam. Don't listen to AEW fans who are trying to destroy WWE ratings. This show had more importance than they realise. Looking forward to Extreme Rules."
[7.0] "Overall it was a good show. Liv v Shayna and JD vs Rey/Edge being the only matches that didnt seem to flow great. The ending of the show was something else. I dont know if they forgot to cut or thought that some Tyson Fury crowd play would make everyone less sour on the match's bad ending; but it somehow mad it all worse. WWE were so close here but shot their own foot."
[9.0] "Incredible PPV. Awesome matches and finishes that don't make me think they are going to do rematch upon rematch. Super hot UK crowd. Triple H is also doing a great job of undoing as much of Vince's horrible booking as he can. Most evidently being the return of Imperium!"
[3.0] "I can't in good conscience call this any more than "adequate". Only one match out of the six was Pay-Per-View quality. Having to endure Michael Cole for a whole PPV was horrible. Dominick hung around for far too long after the tag team match, making it all too obvious what was going to happen. On top of that, Tyson Fury randomly bursts into song after the last match and doesn't attack anyone, or get attacked himself. Possibly the strangest end to any PPV I've ever seen."
[7.0] "WALTER vs Sheamus and Riddle vs Seth Rollins were tremendous matches. This ppv was consistent with having really good matches; but unfortunately the main event had the WRONG winner, and it had a shitty finish that left a horrible taste to the mouth by the end of this ppv. I'm docking off some points because of that, so this gets a 7 from me. The sooner that the current Universal Champion retires, the sooner that we move on to an ever better product. I'm beyond done with this reign. Anyway, kudos to WALTER, Sheamus, Riddle, and Rollins for being part of the high points from this ppv."
[8.0] "This was my first wwe show in a while. I thought that it was a very good show. The highlights we're the Gunther vs Sheamus match and the riddle Rollins match. I highly recommend it."
[9.0] "The opener served the right result of putting the newly minted trio with steady action among all women giving the fans a great start to witness a great event. WALTER & Sheamus went to an absolute war of brutality dishing out incredible offense on each other just as expected. The reunited Imperium is a cool surprise opening a great set of opportunities for them to show utter dominance. Morgan proved her worth of being a champion in a clean slate contest against Shayna who was rejuvenated as the baddie she used to be while Edge & Rey were received magnificently in their tag match against Judgment Day rekindling flawless synergy as a team. The turn of Dominik happened finally and I'm stoked to see his path of being a solo act. Riddle & Rollins had their combustion vent out in a grueling battle where it felt like they've been rivaling for years with pent up rage & personalized animosity. The main event was a classic structured match with a slow burning start and evolved into a dramatic tussle with many stories intertwined and Solo Sikoa's rise up being the huge moment that has its share of feelings already. It's mixed but at the end, it broke many hearts who rooted for McIntyre's deserving coronation as a World Champion including mine. Keeping that fact aside, this was a grand success for WWE where every wrestler put their best work in front of a base that clamored for an event like this for three long decades. It was worth of every second and this feeling wasn't usually seen in main roster events and I'm falling in love more of the handiwork from the new regime."
[10.0] "I read a few comments, a bit pissed off that people lower the rating because they are AEW fanboys instead of clearly judging the situation. It was probably the best WWE show this year for wrestling. We saw good fights, saw Dominik's Heel Turn and celebrated the gala with a loud audience. Hopefully WWE will come back to Europe next year and stay for more years. WWE hasn't stopped since he came to power, and we watch a good wrestling product every week. I look forward to more stories."
[8.0] "The final rating somewhat depends how much weight you place on the deflated main event ending and the post-match songs with Tyson Fury. Other than that this was a very good show, great return to an important market for WWE. Matches ranged from decent to excellent with a generally enthusiastic crowd. The set up looked great. IC title match and Rollins/Riddle were the best matches of the night. Dominik turning heel was a neat moment. Bayley got much needed momentum pinning the champ, Liv lives (lol! ) to fight another day. The main event was strong and had a big fight feel throughout but Drew losing in the UK was a misguided decision. Reigns has had long enough as champ and though I like Solo Sikoa, they definitely shouldn't have made this his main roster debut. Drew should've won and Solo's debut should've been next week."
[4.0] "This show was so disapointing. It was annoying, long (the show wasn't that long but many matches were and some clips as weel), a except Gunther vs Sheamus which was really great, this show was beetween disapointingly average and awfull."
[10.0] "The AEW shills are SO EXHAUSTING. They swarm these review sites and complain about the most nonsensical shit. They have ONE complaint and give it a 4? So you just ignore all of the great matches this show had? How fast it went by? Yes Roman retained, yes I didn't like it either, but the rest of the show was really good so who cares? If Sheamus had won his match everyone here would be complaining that Walter was "buried". Make up your minds. This was a great show and no matter how many AEW shills swarm these pages the actual fans will continue to appreciate GOOD WRESTLING NO MATTER THE COMPANY. Stop continuing to bridge this unnecessary divide and tribalism."
[9.0] "Klasse PPV in Cardiff.
"Possibly the best WWE PPV in a hot minute... Although that doesnt say much. I liked a lot of the matches and overall it was a very enjoyable show, z but it still had its big flaws and i have two or three complaints about it. Still, it managed to deliver more than what "the average WWE PPV" would, and i will give it to them. It could have been better, but the ending to the show just proved that there is still that "good ol' WWE" feeling over there. The "hometown heroes" losing feels a little bit lacking, and although maybe them losing didnt help anyone (specially Drew), maybe it was the right thing after all. Like i said, pretty enjoyable and this gives a short glance of what we might see in the future with HHH under charge."
[4.0] "Bad pay per view. I'm happy for Dominic Mysterio heel turn and Seth Rollins vs Matt Riddle match. Gunther vs Sheamus was good match but Sheamus should win and become grand slam in UK. The six man tag team match was ok, Smackdown Womens Championship match was bad and the main event was horrible. I thought that Triple H will stop Roman Reigns era. Drew McIntyre should win that match and stop Roman Reigns era. Imagine the pop after him and Sheamus winning."
[8.0] "Enjoyed this alot, very upset that WWE waited until i moved half way across the world to bring at stadium show to my home lol, anyway, some great action, Dominiks heel turn was great, seeing Bret Hart was cool, some fun match, only one less than good match, very weird way to go off the air though."
[4.0] "The show turned out to be average, except for the main event (it ruined everything). The best match was Riddle vs. Seth Rollins" - good pace, some psychology, variety of moves and references. "Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns" was so awful that it can't be put into words. I'm just tired of this kind of title reign. The rest of the matches were good and average. I would recommend watching the show except for the main match."
[7.0] "Had some good matches. Gunther vs. Sheamus and Rollins vs. Riddle will be two of the best matches WWE will have all year. Weak Roman with yet again another mediocre match where he had to use a cousin to bail him out that no one would know who it was if they weren't watching NXT. Fumbled the main event finish at the 1 yard line and then ended with a cringeworthy singalong with Tyson Fury. COuldn't give the UK crowd a win by any wrestlers from the area."
[8.0] "A very good event overall, with only the Mysterio/Judgement Day stuff being slightly weak, with one major caveat - a 6 match show should not be 3 and a half hours long, there was way too much filler between matches and that seriously harms the otherwise high quality production of WWE. Each match had a different feel, and each served a specific purpose, and if you are able to skip through the unrelated nonsense it's highly recommended."
Rollins vs. Riddle hatte gute 5 Minuten. Sonts überschauber aber insgesamt konnte man sich Clash At The Castle anschauen."
[6.0] "This show offers one fantastic match, two good matches and three entirely skippable matches. Main event is a huge waste of time. This is very much a modern WWE show, some good but mostly bad."
[8.0] "A good effort for the first stadium show in the United Kingdom since SummerSlam in 1992. Match of the night was Gunther vs. Sheamus, they carved each other up good and proper. Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre was getting really good until they went to the usual sports entertainment tropes, featuring the debut of the newest Bloodline member Solo Sikoa to cost McIntyre the match. Everything else was fine, and I liked how over Bayley was and how much she hated it (in character no doubt). Now hopefully it's not another 30 year wait until the next UK stadium show."
[9.0] "What a great PPV Clash at The Castle has been, from start to finish it has been a spectacle, great fights and good moments, WWE has done very well."
[9.0] "Top to bottom one of the Best WWE ppvs in many years. Everything was enjoyable and everything was done great. Dominick turning finally was awesome, Sheamus vs Walter was awesome, the emotions evoked from Drew vs Roman was incredible, Solo debut epic, Drew using broken dreams epic. Just an awesome WWE PPV which I haven't been able to say for a while"
[10.0] "The ending of that was very very confusing but other then that this show was fucking amazing. Lots of bangers. Good surprises. Amazing atmosphere."
