[8.0] "Amazing show. The undercard matches are all correct to good with cool moments throughout, but all four tournament matches were absolute bangers."

[5.0] "There were some good matches here, with the main event being MotN, but the United Empire's Ospreay and Great-O-Khan disappointed immensely."

[5.0] "Cup were correct except a disapointing choice to put Henare in the Main Event. Skipable event in my opinion but you can watch DOUKI/ZSJ & ELP/Ospreay, but not the worst event of the tour however."

"A show where the guaranteed MOTN was the semi-main event, because the main event was the only New Japan Cup match to include a Babyface (SANADA)."

[7.0] "Kosei Fujita, T, Honma & Yuto Nakashima VS Six Or Nine & Ryohei Oiwa: Initial action here was very interesting, young lions did very good and the experienced guys of the mathc lead the fight. Satisfactory match. [***1/2]; Tanahashi, Tiger Mask & YOH VS Bad Luck Fale, C. Owens & Gedo: nothing spectacular here, decent match to prepare the next New Japan cup matches. [**1/4]; Goto, Okada & YOSHI-HASHI VS D. Togo, EVIL & Y. Takahashi: I really liked how CHAOS worked combined to get the victory in this 3rd match of the night, they were really the main players of this. House of Torture did the same as usual. Satisfactory match. [***]; El Desperado, M. Suzuki, Taichi & T. Michinoku VS BUSHI, H. Takahashi, S. Takagi & Naito: Nice match to end this first phase of the event. It was interesting to see Suzuki-gun take the control at the beggining, and show us some preview of tomorrow's matches between Takahashi and Suzuki. And watching LIJ get the control again was nice too. Nice bout. [***3/4]; Douki VS Zack Sabre Jr.: Perfect showing of technical wrestling from these two men, what a fantastic match. Douki gave the surprise here, I didn't know he had so much wrestling abilities, nice to see that. Great match. [****]; T. Ishimori VS Great-O-Khan: This match felt simple, slow and was really full of botches from both wrestler. I've seen this two having great matches in past years, but this was a clearly exception to that rule. It was adequate to give Khan the victory, but not to be a New Japan cup match. [**1/2]; El Phantasmo VS Ospreay: Spotmania is here! when this two collide there is for sure you'll have at least at 7/10 grade match, and this was it, classical Ospreay moves VS innovative Phantasmo offense. I'm really hoping to see who's Ospreay next oppoppents on the next rounds. Nice match. [***3/4]; SANADA VS Henare: Well, this was a surprise, I didn't expecto too much of this match but both of them knew how to combine their wrestling techniques to bring a good match. Henare looked pretty strong here, being a serious challenge to SANADA, who day by day continues to achieve winnings at New Japan. The idea of both wrestlers showing their strenght and moves was very adequate to this main event. Nice bout. [***3/4]; This event of the New Japan Cup was fine, there were decent matches in the Lowcard of the event, and some interesting at the proper Cup matches, prepared to see what else New Japan brings into the next days. [***1/2]"
