[6.0] "Das Main Event zwischen Ishii und Shingo war natürlich das Match des Abends und ist so gut wie diese Paarung im Vorfeld versprochen hatte. Bei SHO gegen Hiromu und auch EVIL gegen Taguchi muss man akzeptieren, dass es diese klare Heel-Rollen gibt, von denen anscheinend nicht abgewichen werden kann. Beide zeigen also die für sie typischen lahmen Aktionen mit Dick Togos Eingriffen oder SHOs Schraubenschlüssel. Da die Matches aber beide recht kurz waren, fand ich sie dann doch einigermaßen kurzweilig und akzeptabel, obwohl ich sie sicherlich nicht als gute Matches bezeichnen würde. Alles in allem fand ich die Show damit insgesamt doch gelungen, wenn auch nur ein Match wirklich vollends überzeugt."

[7.0] "Great main event, a couple fun matches on the undercard. The worst NJPW match of the year (Jado/Owens) is on this show, but I almost forgot about it by the end so it doesn't damage the vibes too badly."

[6.0] "Amazing main event; The rest of the card was solid but unspectacular. While I didn't expect much from most of the card, I expected a lot from the final two; The main event delivered big time but Sho Vs Hiromu was a big disappointment."

[4.0] "New Japan Cup Day 3 was easily the worst tournament day thus-far, a bad show that is a one match show. Ishii & Shingo had another classic, skip everything else and run. The hype tags were better than the tournament action for all but the main event! This show ended Round 1 with a wet-fart and that's very disappointing. We now know all 15 matches for Round 2 and got some build going towards them."
