3116.06.2022arrancar6.0I mostly value wrestling > 'TV segments', but the TV segments here were so good that this became the best Dynamite of 2022. It didn't start off too well, since Cole vs Dax was solid but boring. Dax did his cool old-school spots but yet again overindulged in Bret tribute spots. Cole's control work and general offence was thoroughly underwhelming, though Dax's selling was really good. Cole's HBK tributes would have been cool if he had the skills to properly tease/execute them. Their chemistry was mostly fine but noticeably sloppy at points. **3/4. Punk vs Silver was forgettable. Punk's control work was solid but very bland, and his signature spots were occasionally sloppy. Silver's comeback was very fun but very brief. **1/2. Punk and Page's match-hype confrontation was really good. Danhausen vs Nese was a fine squash to thankfully solidify Danhausen as just a comedy worker. Hook's save -- though predictable -- was fun, and I'm interested in how "Hookhausen" goes. The DSOTR parody was very funny and perfectly executed. MJF's babyface promo with his loving hometown crowd was awesome, and Wardlow's eventual beatdown was fun. Starks vs Jungle Boy was good. Starks was all-around impressive with charismatic displays, smooth attacks, aggressive beatdown work, and strong selling/bumping. JB's agile and high-flying displays were all very clean, and he showed much better aggression than usual. Their chemistry was really good and they had a good amount of creativity in their exchanges. Swerve's accidental interference on Starks' behalf was interesting because of the potential feuds it sets up. ***1/4. The JAS vs BCC, Eddie, Santana, and Ortiz segment was really fun butquite short. Toni vs Jamie was pretty good -- probably one of the best ever AEW women's match, even while they clearly held back. They had strong technique, impact, and aggression There was only a single slightly sloppy moment (Toni's finisher), but zero botches, zero weak attacks, and zero amateurish movements -- totally unlike the vast majority of the matches in the division. These 2 need to be mega-pushed ASAP. ***1/4. Darby vs Jeff was a battle of daredevils, and it was heaps of fun. Darby's reckless attacks were fantastic, and his selling and bumping were very convincing. Jeff's few bits of wrestling offence were good, and his real-time selling was as strong as ever. I loved Darby stealing Jeff's ladder spot as a passing of the torch moment, and damn his bump into the chairs was insane. Jeff's Swanton onto the steel steps was likewise stupidly dangerous but awesome. I could have done with more selling at certain points (Jeff so easily pinning Darby after taking the Coffin Drop and then standing up to celebrate his win was pretty bad), but for the most part they did a good job selling the massive damage caused by putting their bodies through such carnage. ***1/4 - ***1/2.

4224.05.2022BH628.0A superb episode, even if I didn't very like the suicidal bout between Hardy and Allin. Rest of the card delivered as hell, especially Cole vs. Harwood and Storm vs. Hayter. MJF's hometown presence and Punk's being the public enemy N°1 was so funny to watch as well. HOOKHAUSEN, yeah.
4322.05.2022Paul Heyman Guy8.0

5815.05.2022NakazawaNumberOne6.0A fine show, although the matches were a little same-y. I think the tournament has really made a lot of matches with little build take over the show as opposed to some of those great character matches they often have with Best Friends or Death Triangle or Dustin and his kids/students.

6314.05.2022Matt3158.0
6414.05.2022Penta Suzuki6.0A mixed bag of an episode. The opener was decent but unmemorable. Punk vs Silver and Starks vs Jungle Boy were both poor and, especially in the case of the Punk match, a waste of time. Tony Nese squashed Danhausen which pleased me, Nese is underrated and should have more focus, but I fear he'll be made a joke at the expense of Hook & Danhausen. The women's match was the match of the night and possibly the best women's match in AEW history, I'm just bitter that they didn't get more time. The main event was fun with some insane spots, though it was hampered by lots of stalling. The contract signing was great, while the Jericho Appreciation Society provided another wildly entertaining segment and I loved Regal punching out Jericho. There was also a Schiavone backstage interview with Jamie Hayter, Rebel and Baker hyping the women's match, which annoyed me because, despite Jamie being the one in the match and being more than capable of cutting a promo, it was of course Baker who did all the talking because one way or another everything has to be all about her, despite her clear lack of any kind of wrestling based talent. Overall I was thinking a 7 but them unnecessarily dragging out that Punk match when that extra time could have been given to Jamie vs Toni instead has really got my back up, so I'll knock it down an additional point.
6514.05.2022exmansbroboy10.0Virtually perfect 2 hours of pro wrestling television. Every segment landed, no filler whatsoever. 3 angles on the show and all of them were hot. Even the weakest matches on paper over delivered.
6614.05.2022WeHateOkada9.0The first half of this show is arguably the best hour of television AEW has produced so far. Cole-Harwood is a savvy match with both performers utilising a lot of fun throwbacks to 90s wrestling, and Punk-Silver was just two excellent wrestlers displaying their craft. Silver in particular looked sensational, making the most of his opportunity to go one-on-one with a bona fide legend. Nese-Danhausen was a legitimately fantastic angle, shocking in both how unexpected the result (and length of the match) was, and how it breaks out of AEW's typical formula. Every single person involved here got over, and this carried over into the incredible MJF segment. It's old news to say that MJF is one of the best promos alive, but this was especially impressive - playing into his hometown hero status whilst still making it abundantly clear that he's a despicable bastard. The DSOTR parody was also just hilarious. Unfortunately, this is where the wheels start to fall off, relatively speaking. Jungle Boy and Ricky Starks had an exciting match that ended on a whimper due to the cop-out, weakly-booked distraction finish. The JAS promo was incredibly funny, and the brawl was pretty decent, but I'm not really sure where this programme is headed and Santana & Ortiz are really starting to feel like afterthoughts again. Storm-Hayter built to a good match by the end but their opening technical exchanges were incredibly dull, and the crowd was completely dead for much of their match. Normally I'm inclined to blame that on the lack of attention given to the women's division and the shoddy timeslot they're often given, but this was a hyped-up match with clear stakes and popular competitors, they just took too long to start giving the crowd something to be excited about. The main event was alright - to a degree it gave us the carnage that you'd hope for from these two, but the one big centrepiece spot was very illogically set up and didn't look especially great for how dangerous it must have been to perform. Overall, this is still an absolutely fantastic episode, but the main event underwhelmed and with some light tweaking on other moments, this could have been a perfect outing.

7314.05.20225nicoShuffle6.0Opener really good & competitive, very interesting how the fans turned on Cole towards the end of the match. Punk/Silver was scruffy & dull, with a big mess up that looked like it was saved at first but wasn't. I liked Danhuasen's theme and the post match promo about Tony Neese's lack of entrance. Jungle Boy/Stacks was not very interesting. Women's match was rough, Toni Storm doing the same move twice in quick succession, albeit in different parts of & out of the ring, nasty finish also. Why was the Main Event stip changed? could Jeff really not go? he really didn't seem to do much at all. And so, yet more crazy bumps in yet another gimmick match that'll be quickly forgotten by the next gimmick/stuntshow match... probably next week, as this seems to be AEW's thing now.
7414.05.2022norahdarp9.0Outstanding episode of Dynamite, one of the best episodes in recent memory. Nothing was bad on this episode. The matches were all great, led by the first match and the main event. Every segment was awesome, especially the JAS segment and the MJF segment with the Long Island crowd. This episode is definitely worth the watch, and had some moments that will be talked about for a long time. 9/10
7514.05.2022VoodooChild8.0
7614.05.2022samirandres14287.0Adam Cole VS Dax Harwood: I don't see the special thing about this match, despite the match there are battling two of the best wrestlers of AEW. I really hoped this match to be great, but it wasn't, very slow pace, regular interaction between wrestlers, and some botches for both sides. The final 5 minutes were good, but still just something more than an adequate match. [**1/2]; CM Punk VS John Silver: At the beggining I felt this as a filler match for the show, but then become in a really interesting fight, even if Silver as wrestler is a filler, the end of the match makes this feud pretty more interesting. And really makes the possibility of having Punk as champion a lot more real. Nice match. [***1/2]; It could be possible Britt's stable comes to an end; Tony Nese VS Danhausen: Nice to see this new team, sad to see Tony Nese being the jobber of this. [N/A]; It's funny they always bring a bunch of security guards just for being Wardlow toys. Pretty interesting to watch a heel crowd, but I really loved it. Best thing recently at AEW, Wadrlowd. And surprisingly, one of the worst, Jay Lethal and The Great Khali; Jungle Boy VS Ricky Starks: Good fight between of the future young promises of AEW, really liked this. It's been just a few fights from Starks I've seen, but I can say he is title material, pretty good in the ring. And Jungle Boy, Always pretty good, in singles annd tag team action. It's a but funny how a lot of random wrestlers come to the ring, but I suppose work for a story for everyone should be hard. [***1/2]; Jericho Appreciation Society, with Jericho al always as the top player. Didn't really understand the role Blackpool Combat Club played here, but I suppose next time there will be a 10-man tag team action here; Maybe this match between Deeb and Rosa could be good, I really hope to; Toni Storm VS Jamie Hayter: Maybe what this division needed was someone as Toni Storm, making the effor to put really good matches for the division. This was very nice to watch, not just for Tony, but for Jamie, she made a relly good effort, made pretty good movements, and make me believe she could win. Nice women's match, the best I've seen in AEW since a long time. [***1/2]; Jeff Hardy VS Darby Allin: The best way to end a show like this, making a No DQ between these teo insane guys, really nice match. If it wasn''cause Jeff's age, it could be so much better. The end was pretty surprising, and puts a lot of emotion to the next weeks of AEW. Nice match. [****]; A nice show, since a month of not watching Dynamite live, the opener was flat, but segment by segment they improved the show, put good matches, and definitely worked great promos to put the show over. Nice show. [***3/4]
7713.05.2022MAGICIAN6.0Durchwachsen.
7813.05.2022TrocaNero10.0Quite possibly the best Dynamite of 2022. Everything was really good, great story development in time for Double or Nothing. Cole/Harwood was a banging opener, Punk/Silver was good and a nice setup for the World title match at the PPV, Danhausen had a nice little segment in that "match" with Tony Nese, the FTW title match was interesting and I wonder what they're gonna do next now that they involved Swerve and Lee (possibly triple threat tag Swerve/Lee vs Jurassic Express vs Starks/Hobbs? ), women's match was fine too and damn the main event was crazy. That ladder and chair spot was absolutely horrifically brutal in a great way. Loved this Dynamite.

8213.05.2022PavelDragunov10.0I express my respect for the fact that finally stories and matches began to develop for the upcoming ppv. Immediately the show is remembered more. Blackpool Combat Club decided to stand up for former enemies and friends at the same time, Jericho got too brazen and Mox decided to visit an old enemy and teach him a lesson, now it becomes even more interesting. Punk knows how to put pressure on the right strings of the soul, their enmity with Adam is only inflaming! MJF is just a genius on the microphone, it's time to stop offending him, and figure out what he lacks financially, he works out every dollar from the heart and with meaning. Darby/Hardy and Dax/Cole played the first round matches, and the girls also tried to please us. Danhausen and HOOK have finally reconciled, now it remains to look at their interactions. The fans at the show were mostly active and loud, which is a plus. In general, I was satisfied with everything, there were no unnecessary or stupid moments, everything is very cool and professional. TV segments is a strong side of the show, but I will say the matches were above average, so my rating will be high, emotions and overall impression converge.
8313.05.2022Berlioz9110.0
8413.05.2022Prince Osborne8.0The opener was a classic callback to Bret vs. Shawn as both men were excellent in sync with great looking offense and sick receiving of the offense. Cole winning made sense since he's a more successful singles star but deep inside, I was pissed on how the beautiful story of Dax hyping himself being a part of this tourney was simply furloughed in a heart wrenching way. Punk embraced the side of darkness intentionally, defeating the homeboy Silver and made his presence felt on the head of Hangman in a great way. Danhausen & Hook had their alliance official after weeks of build and it's an entertainer. MJF got the hero's welcome of this year and utilized it to the optimum with a fantastic segment against Wardlow. Starks vs. Jungle was a great back-and-forth battle that intensified the tag title scene with three of the hard-working & extremely talented teams of AEW involved and it looks rad as heck. JAS finally got outnumbered by Blackpool Combat Club & Proud n Powerful which looks like a certified unit of lovable violence. Storm & Hayter had a physically sound fight that certainly deserved to be a part of this tournament & Storm winning gives a nice chance to complete her story possibly with Baker. The main event was a fun car crash but with an inappropriate void feeling on finding the reason to be so chaotic. Their clash of styles really suited well, they felt comfortable and everything - I get it but what's the story apart from being a dream match? Nothing! Gimmick matches are simply used uselessly by AEW and this is an example of it. This episode of Dynamite had more highs than lows in the standpoint of both wrestling and storytelling as two hours felt like a breeze once again.
8513.05.2022flightaker3219.0All the matches were good with the two best being Darby/Hardy and Dax/Cole. Jeff Hardy did the best around his limitations in a singles match. Hayter/Storm was a nice change compared to other AEW women's matches that feel like they are wrestling under mud. The MJF/Wardlow segment was brilliant and the DSOTR parody beforehand was actually pretty funny. Punk vs Silver was mainly used for a post-match confrontation between him and Page.
8613.05.2022raininglightning10.0This is one of the best episodes of AEW Dynamite I've ever seen. There wasn't a weak segment on this entire show - with everything ranging from very good to EXCELLENT. I also liked that it showcased a large variety of wrestlers, with differing levels of experience and name power. Putting Ricky Starks and Jungle Boy on this all-timer card, for example, was a stroke of genius and gave them a great showcase alongside the big names like Adam Cole, Jeff Hardy, CM Punk etc. Shows how highly Tony Khan thinks of them both - and with good reason, they showed tonight they are two future stars of the company (Starks, especially, is one of the fastest rising stars in the company and it wouldn't shock me if he ends the year with gold that doesn't say "FTW" around his waist). Plus the post-match hinted at a triple threat for the Tag Titles at Double or Nothing, which should be nothing short of OUTSTANDING. I don't ever want to see Ricky Starks left off an AEW PPV again - he's a star. Storm/Hayter was a fantastic showing for the women's division and made me believe (which sadly AEW doesn't often do) that the future of their women's division is in good hands with these two talented ladies. Coudl've easily been the final of the tournament. Toni Storm was such a brilliant acquisition for the company - here's hoping next week's joker is Athena. Sadly I was left disappointed by Cole/Harwood - not because of the match, but because I really wanted Dax to be the "Private Party" of the tournament and upset Adam Cole. This tournament has felt like his to lose since the beginning and, unfortunately, that still looks to be the case - I'd bet my house on Adam Cole winning the whole thing. The match itself was brilliant and Dax tapping out to the sharpshooter was perfect (and I'd bet my house again on it being his idea too). The contract signing was one of my favourite things on the whole show. Man I love that AEW fully embraces the bizarro world of Long Island (with CM Punk calling back to the last time they were in Long Island earlier in the night). The Dark Side of the Ring parody had me rolling as well - especially the Jericho V/O. Genius. Speaking of Jericho, the JAS has been one of my favourite things in the company and adding the Blackpool Combat Club into the mix was perfect. Sports Entertainment vs the Combat Club has felt like the destination from the start and I'm excited to hear William Regal shout "BLOOD AND GUTS! " in the summer. The Darby/Jeff match wasn't exactly a match - more a spectacle - but it achieved what it set out to and served as the passing of the torch from Jeff Hardy to Darby Allin as the resident face-painted daredevil. Overall, a FANTASTIC Dynamite and a phenomenal rebound after last week's dud episode. AEW doesn't stay down for the long and boy did it deliver in spades tonight. Double or Nothing should be a real treat.

8913.05.2022RecklessOne6.0Cole Harwood - good, Punk Silver - not bad, Starks Jungleboy - not bad, Storm Hayter - good but not enough, Hardy Allin - good. A good episode of dynamite, but I did not see anything super cool in it. Extremely strange segment with the signing of the contract. I don't like storyline with Danhausen at all. Only matches saved my mind
9013.05.2022Ratewrestle6.0Two great matches, two average matches and two below average matches. Some decent promo? s, MJF ran slightly long but it? s MJF so ill forgive.

9213.05.2022MaveDeltzer7.0A fairly good episode with a good mix of watchable matches and a few angles. I'm still not hugely into this Jericho feud (although Kingston has the potential to make it interesting) and felt like that segment took way too long. The MJF angle took a while too, but was more interesting. Cole vs Harwood I thought was okay enough and maybe Cole's best match so far in AEW. I think these "Guy beats up Dark Order guys to get at Hangman" thing has run out of steam since they've dropped off the radar since Hangman became champ and nobody really misses them. Silver is okay but we all knew where that was going. I don't really like the Danhausen or Hook stuff but that segment was pretty much 100% what it should have been. I wasn't so into Jungle Boy vs Starks but it was okay enough. Christian's involvement is surely going to evolve into something but I still don't know for sure which way it'll go. I'm looking forward to Hayter's eventual break-away from Baker. She's not only the best bumper in AEW's women's division but also a rare power wrestler when compared to many of the women on the roster. The main event did a good job of getting something more out of Jeff Hardy by making it a No DQ match. A good way to end the show because it was unlikely anyone was going to top the biggest spot from that match. For me, I don't rate something as a TV show or as a PPV but rather total runtime vs entertainment value. All in all, this was a pretty good way to spend two hours.
9313.05.2022QueirosS7.0Cole x Dax was the match of the night, I didn't like the main event as much as most people, it was decent and expected but not amazing. Everything else on the show was good/decent.

10013.05.2022chuckstuckey7.0Full of fun matches and decent, table-setting segments. No one match blew me away, but the main event was memorable. Loved Swerve and Keith Lee entering the Tag Title picture. The MJF segment was great.
