[7.0] "This took me a couple sittings to get through, it is a 4 hour show and it feels like it with a fair bit of forgettable filler, that being said the highs are really good, especially the FTR vs. Briscoes tag match. There is no real bad wrestling on the card, all of it is at least watchable, but there was a bit of a deflating feeling that the older era of ROH was no more. Worth seeking out for that tag match on its own, the main event is also worth going out of your way for overall."

It's entertaining, and I feel the order of the matches is quite good. Without any segments or promos (not counting the hype videos), the event is sustained by its wrestling quality--very good."

Briscoes/FTR was great and lived up to the dream match billing but I cant say very much overall made this feel like a Supercard otherwise."

[Briscoes vs FTR] - 4.75 stars (Match of the Night). [Titus vs Suzuki] - 2.25 stars. [Woods vs Yuta] - 2.75 stars. [Gresham vs Bandido] - 4 stars. We got some good showdowns like back it the day, the ladies had a good time as most of the title fights delivered, and then, we had to privilege to witness this absolute instant-classic between FTR and The Briscoes. What a slobberknocker this pay-per-view was."

Moriarty and Swerve v. Zayne were also enjoyable. Capping it all off with a fun Samoa Joe debut, the show felt like a nice nod to the promotions past and an optimistic look toward its future. Time will tell if Tony Khan and co. are able to make good on that optimism."

FTR match was my favorite, I? ve never seen a Briscoe a match before but I really liked what I saw. And the I thought the pure title had a really cool concept that separates it from the other titles. 9/10"

[9.0] "Absolutely wild show. Really great opening contests in Swerve vs. Zayne and Lethal vs. Moriarty. The Brian Cage squash was meh but it was quick and didn't really hurt anything. Women's match was solid enough as well. Enough good things cannot be said about FTR vs. Briscoes. Maybe it's recency bias, but at this moment I'd call it the single greatest tag match of all-time. Even other classic tag matches, there's at least something to nitpick, something that'd turn someone off. This was as close to technically flawless as I've ever seen a tag match be. I'm not huge on the Foundation champs outside of Gresham but the next two matches were fine enough. Gresham vs. Bandido ruled almost as hard as FTR vs. Briscoes though. Very deliberately paced but not inactive, just fantastic cerebral wrestling that beautifully climaxed in a burst towards the end, with Bandido's honor ultimately leading to his downfall but still allowing him to hold his head high. Oh yeah, and then Lethal came out to challenge and attack Gresham, followed by Samoa Goddamn Joe showing up to choke the shit out of Sonjay Dutt, transporting me right back to my childhood. I love wrestling and shows like this are why."

[8.0] "An eventful show. We were promised that this ppv would compete on an equal footing, and so it turned out. Brian Cage is a new client of Tully Blanchard, this is really unexpected and pleasant, we haven't seen Brian in business for a long time and he looks fresh, a beautiful Mohawk and I'm waiting for him to climb to the top of the mountain of wrestling again. Jay Lethal has switched to the dark side again, and that's good, now it may become much more interesting to watch him, I would also advise him to grow his cool hair from 2016. ROH World Tag Team Title Match has become the fights not only of the whole show, but probably will qualify for the match of the year in absentia. It was insanely cool, I have already described everything on the shelves in the match itself, but I will also note the appearance of Young Bucks and their challenge towards FTR, it's wildly cool, we are waiting, especially since it's surprisingly not long to wait at all. Maybe the Bucks will fight with Briscoes...Wheeler YUTA is going through the most serious part of his career, he needs to prove that he is a strong champion. And finally the main fight of the show. Jonathan Gresham is the undisputed champion of ROH. Immediately, new applicants began to climb up to him, even Sonjay Dutt suddenly made himself felt, I'm surprised that he helped Jay Lethal, but what I was waiting for and praying for was the appearance of Samoa Joe and he came out, it was cool and damn necessary for ROH. So many cool matches we can see. I hope Joe is in good shape and we will really remember his run into the company as something bright and pleasant. The show was able to live up to expectations. The only thing you can find fault with is the placement of matches, I would rearrange everything a lot, it's a painfully torn narrative."

[9.0] "The first ROH PPV I've ever bought and it was well worth the money. A perfect blend of AEW and ROH - with enough differences from the AEW product that it felt like I was watching a completely different wrestling promotion (as opposed to an AEW spin-off). FTR/Briscoes is a MOTYC - and honestly my only complaint about the show is that the high point came midway through. I understand why they did it that way - the ending was well worth FTR/Briscoes going in the middle of the show - but it meant none of the matches afterwards felt as special. All of the wrestling on the show ranged from good to great. The main event was enjoyable and I really liked Swerve/Zayne, but my second favourite match on the card was Lethal/Moriarty. I really liked the narrative thread started in the match with Jay Lethal that ended up going throughout the show as well. That said, my star of the show (aside from the Briscoes and FTR) was Willow Nightingale. I really hope she's someone Tony Khan signs full-time for AEW and/or ROH. This was my first time seeing her in a non- AEW Dark match (ie. a match over 5 minutes) and she has so much charisma! Overall a fantastic show!"

[9.0] "FTR vs Briscoes is a genuine Match of the Year contender, and exceeded even the very high expectations built up for it. Which does lead to the biggest problem with this show, which is that the high point came mid way through and nothing that followed lived up to it. Having every title change hands was also a bold choice, and made it very clear that this is a new RoH and is looking forward not celebrating the past. We had some of the world's best wrestlers in great matches, and apart from the match order this was an exceptional PPV. Quite possibly more AEW than RoH, which may not please everybody, but it absolutely did for me."

As with most Khan produced shows in the ring action is never in doubt for being very high level."

"This was a ROH show for the people who mainly follow AEW, hence why all the winners are talent already signed to AEW, barring two title matches. It's also why The Briscoes, Josh Woods and Rhett Titus lost their championships to guys who will all be on AEW programming in the near future. I expected some things to change, although dropping the whole presentation of Pure Rules that we got from ROH last year is very sad to see, as someone who actually did follow ROH through the pandemic. I don't think this is a bad show. I don't think using it to promote AEW talent is an inherent negative. I do however come away feeling disheartened to know that the ROH I've known for decades is gone, and likely won't ever come back. I hope the wrestlers are all getting paid and treated well. I hope there are fans who will support the talent whether they are still used or work elsewhere. And to people who claim this closer resembled the days of "classic ROH" or that the promotion died because no one cared, I hope you all get corona. Also, shut the fuck up Kwame."

Ovaldinho wrote on 02.04.2022:
[6.0] "Aside from a sensational tag titles match, an unremarkable show with multiple matches that I found to be mediocre. The show seemed to be attempting to take ROH into many different paths in this new Tony Khan/AEW era. Moments where it seemed Tony Khan just wanted somewhere to chuck the people he had fallen out with (Chavo, Brian Cage), a place for AEW regulars to go over non-AEW regulars, and glimpses of the ROH nostalgia trip which I honestly expected more of given how much of a mark for the promotion Tony Khan notably is. Not that my issue with the show was a surprisingly low about of adoration of ROH's history, I don't care either way, I just want great matches that feel like they have a real purpose and this show could have done with more of that. But at the end of the day, the whole show was worth it just for that tag match, really hoping this isn't the last of the Briscoes in ROH."
SimonCopp wrote on 02.04.2022:
[6.0] "FTR vs Briscoes is the best NA match I've seen so far this year. The main could have been great but the Chavo shenanigans really put a dampener on things. Moriarty vs Lethal was good and Lethal's actions got a pay off later in the evening which was a nice touch. Supercard had a major problem though in that it was all over the place. It mostly alternated between a good match and a nothing happening match. There was no building quality over the course of the show and this made it far more of a slog than a three hour show should be. I had never heard Caprice Coleman commentate before and I hope I never have to again."
Utkarsh wrote on 02.04.2022:
"ROH rises from the dead to present a solid event with consistently great wrestling and a solid foundation for what is to come for the company. It does not come without its flaws tho, some of the title changes seemed arbritary, the Women's booking was really poor, and not every surprise struck the landing. The opener was great. FTR & The Briscoes deliver a match of the year contender. Jonathan Gresham vs. Bandido and what followed afterwards was all brilliant. Its hard to see where Yuta and Suzuki will go as champions but I'm intrigued. Overall, its nearly the best way we could've been introuced back to ROH, given what happened only a few months ago. Rating - 7.5/10"

Giving this event more than a 7 though overlooks the weak moments of the show - the Cage squash over another debuting wrestler, the disappointing Woman's title match and the short Suzuki title win. The great stuff was great, but it was certainly weighed down by other segments that didn't deliver."

[10.0] "SW3RVE VS Zayne: Very good opener. Maybe he just needed a little more help, that smartly Alex knew how to deliver, making the moves of both wrestlers very credible and making you thunk anyone coukld get the victory. Good match. [****]; Brian Cage VS Ninja Mack: Well, it looks like Blanchard will lead a faction full of squach matches and monster wrestlers. The match itself was adequeate, with a few botches, but adequate. [**]; Lethal VS Moriarty: As expected, very cool match. Lethal being one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, having that mirror clash with Moriarty. In so many parts of the match I thought Lee would be who will be declared winner of the match, but this Heel Lethal, desesperate to get the victory, it's what we need to see. [****]; Mercedes Martinez VS Nightingale: Man, it's pretty sad this match resulted full of botches from both wrestlers, becuase if those hadn't ocurred, it would be a pretty pretty nice match. Both women knew how to sell intensity and importance to this title trough all the match, bud sadly almost every minute they did something wrong and ¡BANG! botch. Sadly it's just an adequate match. [**1/4]; The Briscoes VS FTR: The crowd almost exploded when they were entering the ring. And this was a future classical match to watch for tag team action, what a spectacular match. Full of moves, promos, storytelling, strikes, technique, truly one strong MOTY. I'm really lacking of adjectives to describe it, it was genius action. Surely more than a 5-star match. Watching the Bucks at the end was just great too. Great great match [*****]; Rhett VS Suzuki: IDK why this match is so low rated here, maybe because of the lenght, that was the only problem with the match. Suzuki did great, as all the weekened, showing all of his savage style, and Rhett too, showing him as a truly contender. If it would last longer, could be even better, but still good. [***3/4]; Woods VS Yuta: This was pretty good too. This stipulation created by ROH make matches being different and interesting, and this is a perfect example of how you can have a good just purely technichal match, maybe one of the best of the Pure Championship I've seen. The winner was also a glad surprise, didn't expect him to win. This could mean a strong push for him at AEW. Pretty nice. [****1/4]; Bandido VS Gresham: That preview promo was great to heat the crowd for this main event, watching Gresham as the truly ROH champion. Also a perfectly told match, This is a new Gresham, a Gresham who can carry ROH in his shoulders with no doubt. Bandido did a great work trying to win the championshio, but it wasn't enought to beat the octopus. Great great match, [****3/4]; Great PPV, Great return to a ROH ring, almost every match of this event was satisfactory to watch, so I'm really hope to watch what Tony Khan brings for this promotion. This event has been the best I've seen this year, tied with AEW Revolution. Great show. [*****]"

FTR and the Briscoes was one of the best tag matches I have seen since the '80s. An excellent Pure wrestling match with Josh Woods and Wheeler Yuta. And a "Ring of Honor" worthy main event as Gresham and Bandido delivered a brilliant match. This is the first PPV I have ordered in many years and it was 100% worth it."

"Fantastic show in my opinion with the Tag-Team championship match being the standout without a shadow of a doubt. The Cage reveal was a nice surprise, the Swerve match was a strong opener and Gresham's defence was a great closer to the show. Personally wasn't too much a fan of the Pure Championship match's pacing, felt like a match more for wrestlers than wrestling fans, but I certainly respected it. Women's match and the TV title were both OK, probably the weakest aspects of the show. Commentary was lovely, a few technical hickups throughout the show and the Joe debut was fantastic. Very well rounded show!"

"Overall a very entertaining show. Some of the booking decisions left me a bit annoyed (Martinez over Willow, Ninja Mack getting squashed) and got a little too predictable once I realized this show was basically Tony's new universe mode save so he had to beat all the champions. FTR vs Briscoes and Lethal vs Moriarty were the highlights of the night. Cage vs Ninja Mack and Suzuki vs Titus were the lowlights of the night. Very much looking forward to what happens with ROH next."

[7.0] "Not without its issues (and some real bad ones), but with enough high-quality matches to still probably be my new Show of the Year. Swerve vs Zayne was a good high-flying opener. Both guys showed good bravado and clean aerial attacks. They had a bit of awkwardness but nothing serious. They also had a few impressively creative/complex spots. There was an attempted story of Zayne's leg being targeted, but Zayne's leg-selling was too inconsistent for that to work. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Cage vs Mack was a really fun squash. Cage's powerhouse work was fun, especially with his heel arrogance, and Mack bumped extremely well for all of it. NR. Lethal vs Moriarty had good storytelling and in-ring work. They had some enjoyable agile and smooth technical exchanges early in, with Moriarty's superiority slowly angering Lethal more and more. Lethal then smartly targeted Moriarty's leg to limit his nimble counters, with Moriarty selling well while still delivering his impressively smooth and creative attacks. Lethal's low-blow was logical, considering his acknowledged inability to outwrestle Moriarty. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Mercedes vs Willow was AWFUL. Zero crowd interest, an extremely disjointed structure, ridiculously weak impact in literally every attack, and consistently sloppy chemistry with heaps of outright botches. My current Worst Match of the Year contender. *1/4. The Briscoes vs FTR has been ridiculously overrated but it was definitely still great and easily MOTN. It had tremendous physicality, aggression, and intensity, taking an old-school style and giving it that much needed modern-day energy to ensure it wasn't simply an inimitation of 80s wrestling but a genuine attempt to bring 80s wrestling to the current year. Lots of great moments, but nothing at a consistently high enough level for me to consider it a genuine MOTYC. ****. Titus vs Suzuki was the trademark 'Suzuki travelling match' where Suzuki did all his signature spots sadly on auto-pilot mode Titus sadly offered nothing worthwhile either. Crowd didn't care for anything outside of Suzuki's entrance and post-match antics. **1/4. Woods vs Yuta was a very dry match without any intensity or crowd heat. The work was solid but neither guy showed any real fire or creativity. Their physicality was okay at points, but the entire match felt disjointed. An actually interested crowd could have elevated this to being alright. Instead it was merely fine. **1/2. Gresham vs Bandido took a while to get going but was very exciting by the end. Gresham's technical work was all wonderful, Bandido's high-flying was superb, and they both had fantastic chemistry in the vast majority of their interactions. I'm really disappointed they didn't go another 5 minutes, since they really found that special rhythm and intensity towards the end. ***3/4. Goes without saying that Joe's return in the post-match was sweet. All respect to Tony and the wrestlers for giving ROH a great return."

Martinez/Nightingale was a good match. FTR/Briscoes delivered on the hype and was MOTN. Suzuki/Titus was the weakes on the card but still solid and hearing the crowd scream Kaze Ni Nare is always nice.Yuta and Woods had a really good technical match for the pure title. Bandido/Gresham was a great main event between my two favorites from the ROH roster and Joes return was a cherry on top"

Lethal vs. Moriarty was a fantastic wrestling match that had the much needed heel turn for Lethal as he was about to get stale. Willow vs. Mercedes was a physically sound bout with a good choice of winner and I'm excited for the undisputed title match already. Briscoes & FTR had the MOTN & a MOTY contender as well. Young Bucks' cameo worked pretty fine for the story between FTR & Bucks. Titus vs. Suzuki was solid but unexpectedly short. I'm glad that Suzuki has a piece of gold in an American promotion. Woods vs. Yuta was a great showcase of pure wrestling and him winning is a jackpot to enter the Blackpool Combat Club. The main event was a marvellous battle of technique and fast-paced action and Gresham winning was the perfect choice. Lethal's actions mean so much here in story but Samoa Joe returning here is breaking news indeed! At the end, ROH's last spots of spark have been reignited at the hands of new management (Tony Khan) and for classic ROH fans, it would take some time. But for those who're about to follow ROH, buckle up for a thriller of a run! 8.5 out of 10 points!"

Match of the night goes to Briscoes vs. FTR, that match went so hard, the suplex to the outside was insane but I wish Zayn & Strickland didn't do the Poisonrana spot earlier in the night, just to make that suplex a little more special. After that amazing match, the attendees were gassed and the energy went down. Yuta vs Woods was solid, Suzuki vs Titus did nothing for me but seeing MINORU SUZUKI winning an US title is a great moment. I'm torn on the main event. If the public was in the match, it would have been better. The first half was sloooooow, which gives credence to the Gresham is a boring wrestler (which I don't think is true... well, in some matches he is), but the second half was excellent with a rapid pace. Overall this is a great introduction to the philosophy of ROH moving forward (NXT Black & Gold in all its glory). Watch the Briscoes vs FTR match. MOTY candidate."

[9.0] "What a show! Depending on how Wrestlemania does this might be the show of the week. the first 2 matches were good, womans match was meh, FTR vs Briscoes was a definitive MOTY contender. Suzuki as champion in ROH is also very good. Woods vs Yuta was alright, Yuta becoming champ was unexpected and good. Gresham vs Bandido was a really good match but not on the level of FTR vs Briscoe. BUT SAMOA GOD DAMN JOE"
