Some of the best indie wrestling is on the west, maybe the best. Even with the over reliance on hardcore, the booking, matches and spots worked. |

I feel sometimes GCW cards could suffer with an intermission that they do like 2/3 of the way through the show that kinda grinds things to a halt and the following match sometimes suffers because the audience's adrenaline and attention need to go back to the show. But they didn't have that this time and I felt the show was helped overall by that. Every match on this card was so fun to watch and there was no real dead spots the whole evening. The matches had the usual GCW brawling the occurs, but it was still a good variety, from a hot hoss-infused tag opener with Briscoes vs Fatu and Finau, to a well-done indie style match in Wayne vs Christian, to more techincally sound match in Gray vs ACH, and a fun, get your spots in 8-person tag, and everything in between. The only con I can say is the end when people in the crowd were throwing beer cans, ice, and freaking buckets at Janela. He drew heat and it was well done, but the escalation of throwing crap to not only him but a prone X-Pac who's still lying in the ring selling for Janela made me pissed. Fortunately, it looks like both of them were okay. Weakest match might've been Homicide vs Dr. Wagner Jr, but even then it was a fun match that had enough schtick. MOTN is definitely Nick Wayne vs Blake Christian, with Ninja Mack vs Mike Bailey being a close second. And, my goodness, Ninja Mack's fall off the ledge was insane to watch. Support your favorite indie wrestlers. They do insane stuff for you entertainment. Great evening overall and going to continue hoping the best for GCW's future. 8.25/10 |
