[6.0] "The Cage match was MOTN but it wasn't amazing, Didn't care for the comedy skits or most of the stories really but there was nothing too bad, and Johnnys Promo bumps it up into the positives"
[6.0] "None of the matches really matter here, what this was is Kyle O'Reilly and Johnny Gargano's goodbye to NXT. The old guard is gone, and NXT 2.0 has fully replaced them, for better or worse. It's bittersweet, the black and gold achieved a lot, even though they were only seen as the developmental c-show. all the best to johnny gargano and kyle o'reilly."
[6.0] "So that looks like that's it for two more of the stars of NXT, and while this episode was decent it's hard to see how they'll get any better than that with the limited amount of talented wrestlers they have left. Many of the new characters are actively offputting, and the vignettes by them were the worst part of this show. The actual wrestling in the show was mostly decent if not great, and there's potentially a couple of decent feuds coming up, so hopefully they can focus on the parts that are working going forward. Overall a watchable but unspectacular show, but one with important moments sprinkled throughout so worth watching if you are at all interested in 2.0."
[8.0] "This show was more memorable for what happened outside the matches. Kyle O'Reilly and Johnny Gargano are both gone, with Von Wagner and Grayson Waller respectively given credit for running them off. Pretty smart to put heat on young guys for getting rid of long time favourites. Bron Breakker is back on the path towards Tommaso Ciampa, having to go through Roderick Strong next week first. Speaking of Strong, there may be a unification match between him and Carmelo Hayes in the future, as the Cruiserweight division looks like it's being discontinued. The wrestling wasn't exceptional, but the show looks like it has a future direction which matters more."
[9.0] "So this show was very consistent: more focused on developing feuds and less bloated. Every match and segment here served a purpose and there weren't any meaningless squashes. They already built two interesting matches for next week (Roddy vs Bron and a No Holds Barred match), teased some title matches for upcoming weeks (either Cora or Raquel vs Mandy and a possible unification of the NA and CW titles), finally showed up the freaking shaman, which was a nice surprise, and closed the show with a good promo followed by a final segment that should give NXT a new top heel, or well at least I hope so since Waller is one of the new guys that has shown good potential. Anyway, like I said this edition felt more focused and it looks like the pieces are finally falling into place with the new characters finding their own place in the show, while the amount of (squash) matches have been reduced for good. Hope this tendency continues."
[7.0] "Very solid episode this week. We are slowly but surely moving away from this show's squash match era which is a great thing. Opener was solid and a fine way for Kyle to go out. Breakker promo was good, tag match was alright, Lumis/Hayes was decent with a poor finish, women's tag was basically a squash. Shame this is the only match the women got tonight though I'm sure a lot of the roster is pretty banged up right now. Escobar/Quinn was decent enough but had it's fair share of clunky moments. Escobar thankfully went over here. Gargano's promo was awesome, and the beat down was a great way to get a ton of heat on Waller. I sincerely hope Gargano stays in NXT or goes to main roster, as I really struggle to see a place for him in AEW besides squashes on YouTube. Either way it was a good show."
