[7.0] "This was an ok episode of Rampage, one in which Jake Atlas debuted and then never appeared again. Jericho is gold on commentary. The women's match was fun, but unspectacular. The main event was fun, but sloppy."

[8.0] "Adam Cole vs Jake Atlas *** Hook vs Aaron Solo *** Riho and Ruby Soho vs Dr Britt Baker DMD and Jamie Hayter ***1/2 Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz vs Matt Menard, Angelo Parker and Daniel Garcia ****1/2 Every match was at least good, the women's tag was very fun, and the main event is AEW's most underrated of the year. Utter lunatic banger that was clearly somewhat of a test run for the Anarchy in the Arena classic."

[5.0] "Didn't have the same steam as the Dynamite show taped on the same show, but Rampage had all-solid matches. Adam Cole/Jake Atlas started things off with a fine one that I wish they'd given a few more minutes. Hook looked good in his quick one. The women's tag had the energy. And the closing brawl with Eddie Kingston give off vibes of times past for a brawl where they worked harder than the highlights would indicate [** 1/2]. Good show."

[4.0] "The opener was not bad at all, but the injury to Jake Atlas unfortunately tarnished the quality of the match. Hook's match was a waste of time, again. The last two matches were, in my opinion, not good. Also, no segments to enhance the show, so a dull show overall."

[7.0] "This was a pretty fun show. The opener was a solid showcase of Jake Atlas besides the injury. The Hook match was good, he's still being built up. The women's tag match was ok, it was really just hyping up the special. The main event was a decent hardcore match that had solid storytelling."

WeHateOkada wrote on 08.01.2022:
[6.0] "Skippable, in a word. Atlas-Cole was an interesting but uneven match until the unfortunate injury. Hook was a blast, as always. The women's tag match was pretty mediocre, and the winning roll-up wasn't very convincing, but the larger story elements at play with Baker's entourage were interesting. The main event was fun, in an incredibly chaotic way. That vibe carried over onto commentary too, with Jericho, Taz and Starks devolving into silly non-sequiturs about rhombuses and the word 'lugubrious', which made for a funny backdrop to all the weapons spots employed by the wrestlers. Fun enough, and it never dragged, but nothing of significance really occurred and the highlights weren't anything particularly special."
Prince Osborne wrote on 08.01.2022:
[6.0] "The opener was a great outing between Cole & Atlas with an untimely hasty finish again due to an injury for the latter. Hook came in, amazed us again and left! The women's tag was a solid, fast action tag with the issues between Baker & Hayter intensifying while Riho is protected well. The main event was an usual street fight but after witnessing last week's sensational action from the women, this was a clear watered down version and we're tired of this stipulation. Extra perks to the nice build towards tomorrow's special event, Battle of the Belts. In overall, a decent episode of Rampage that did its lightwork right."
Derek Joists wrote on 08.01.2022:
[6.0] "Another decent epsiode of Rampage here, although "decent" is lower than we often get. Hook continues to impress, Jake Atlas looked good until the injury, and there was plenty of setup for Battle Of The Belts. No absolute standout matches but a solid, enjoyable hour."

[5.0] "Nothing really special here to be honest. I liked Cole vs. Jake Atlas, I hadn't seen Jake wrestle until this episode and I liked. Hook's match was what I've expected. The other two matches wre pretty unnecessary, but it's hilarious how tall Jamie Hayter is when compared to Riho and Ruby - and Hayter is 5'7 or something like this."
