[7.0] "This show was saved by a great main event, but it was lackluster until PAC and Andrade beat the shit out of each other. Rampage is just kind of a blah show with jut matches on it, but at least it's only an hour long."
[5.0] "(Sorry english is not my firtst language) What i can even like in this show expect main event? first two matches was just bad, Cassidy and Hobbs have zero chemistry and it was time when DMD was just bad in the ring but at least PAC and Andrade do the job good"
[8.0] "A great show here, mostly carried by the fantastic PAC/Andrade main event, although the first two matches were fairly decent as well. Some solid build ahead of Full Gear too."
[7.0] "Rampage seems to have taken another step away from front-loaded episodes again this week by having a main event which looked good on paper and was in practice. The women's match in the middle once again had a portion cut from it, but if that's what it takes to have the opener and main event have picture-in-picture (or full broadcast on Fite), then so be it, I guess. It still makes that middle match feel a little unimportant. But that aside, I think Rampage has been improving as a show over the past few weeks and is now either at or getting to the point where it actually does feel like a third hour of Dynamite. Also, I'm so glad they pulled Abrahantes away from that 90s WWF heel persona they were pushing him towards for a while. That to me is an example of good course-correcting in AEW, along with the general improvements to Rampage."
[9.0] "I actually really enjoyed the first two matches. Nothing that were masterclasses or anything, but pretty decent, with very noticeable improvements from Will Hobbs, Britt Baker, and Anna Jay, overall. I'm liking Britt Baker's feud with Anna Jay and Tay Conti a lot, so far. I liked the FTR/Penta confrontation, and it also means we get more matches between Lucha Bros and FTR going forward; sign me the fuck up. Then to cap it off, the Pac/Andrade match was just excellent. Easily the best match of the entire week from any promotion, for me. A varied and very hard-hitting 4.75* match, for definite."
[6.0] "Rampage once again follows its pattern of one very good match and a couple that are just kinda there and nothing special. OC vs. Hobbs was meh, these two don't really have much chemistry, and I personally couldn't care less who won because neither of these guys are going to beat Moxley in the semi-finals. Britt Baker just isn't that good, full stop. I don't understand all of the hype and love for her, because she misses far often than she hits. She only ever wrestles as well as her opponents, for better or worse, and Anna Jay isn't that good either. PAC vs. Idolo was fantastic though. Very intense and brutal, with some truly crazy bumps as should be expected from both guys. That post-match stuff though... what even was that? Why were Black and Rhodes shoehorned into this? It would make no sense for Black to suddenly be buddies with Andrade (or anyone at all, really), he has no existing beef with PAC, it's totally illogical and pointless. Hopefully they'll explain Black's motivations on Dynamite because this was just kinda dumb. Really it just felt like they wanted to have Cody and Black have some kind of physical confrontation before their third match and kind of forgot to write it into the script for the Miami tapings so they just kinda made some shit up at the 11th hour. They did something similar with Kenny Omega building up to his All Out match last month as well. The only thing other than the matches was that Penta in-ring promo (which of course was interrupted before he could even say anything, LOLAEW) and FTR ambush, which was all pretty bad. It just made Penta look like a goof. I'm really not digging this FTR/Lucha Bros feud at all so far, but it's only been a couple weeks and I'm sure their match at Full Gear, assuming it happens, will be an instant classic. Anyway, just like every other Rampage, watch the one good match and don't even bother with anything else."
[8.0] "A one-match show if I've ever seen one, but good lord was it an excellent match. These kind of shows that are built around a single attraction only really work as an hour (or shorter) broadcast, and for yet another week, AEW Rampage remains the easiest hour of professional wrestling to watch and enjoy. For what it's worth, the preceding two matches were fine."
[6.0] "The main event saved the show from being disappointing. The excellent dynamic between Excalibur, Taz and Starks was disrupted this week by a screaming Chris Jericho and it distracted from the first two matches for me, which maybe could have been helped by focussed, technical commentary due to their slower pace. The second encounter of PAC vs Andrade rose above the distractions, fortunately, and was an excellent TV main event that hopefully leads to an all-deciding third match."
[7.0] "All in all, a strong hour's worth of wrestling, but nothing was without its flaws. The main event is pretty much faultless, to be fair - an awesome match that ends in a little confusion, but the post-match angle it sets up is more than worth it. Awesome stuff. The first two matches, while definitely still good overall, had a larger share of troubles. Hobbs-OC is very unsatisfyingly booked - aside from the opening exchanges, it's entirely one wrestler dominating before he gets distracted into a roll-up finish, which is rarely a gratifying payoff. Baker-Jay is in many ways a much more compelling affair - far more evenly matched, there were parts of this that were Jay's best-ever performance, and her elongated Queenslayer application was genuinely gripping stuff. Unfortunately, she still isn't the complete package yet, and these more crucial matches do expose that a little - her kicks look ineffectual, and she just generally moves with a slight rigidity. Still, this was a good match that I did buy into at times, so it's definitely showing her moving in the right direction. This Rampage was breezy and focused heavily on in-ring action over character work, and I think it was mostly to the show's benefit."
[8.0] "Opening match was good until the end, which I found particularly terrible. I'm not mad Hobbs lost but the way he lost was idiotic. Britt v Anna Jay was decent, AJay has some work to do but has wrestled less than 30 matches in her life so represented herself well. Pac vs. Andrade II was INCREDIBLE! It smoked their first match, which I loved. Brutality mixed with insanely smooth execution. One of the best matches of the year for me, personally. I also loved the end with Malakai Black showing up and attacking Pac, seemingly aligning with Andrade. Cody was actually cheered as a babyface. It was a one-match show but the one match was amazing."
