[6.0] "Pretty decent episode of SNME, where some portions of the show revolved around all the WWF superstars at a water park in Tampa. With the most noteworthy moment of the show being the waterslide contest between JYD and Jimmy Hart. Speaking of JYD, he becomes a major focal point in this show, which I thought was cool because he was such an amazing talent for his time. And lastly, the major marquee match between Hogan and Funk, which was only one of the two times they went one-on-one, which is crazy to think about."

[4.0] "It wasn't a great show, because despite a refocusing on what happens during the matches compared to the last few SNMEs, we were still treated to a few rather sexist minutes during the segments at the water park... And in the ring, we were treated to four fairly average matches, all of which were part of more or less well-written storylines. Fortunately, there was also a good Hogan vs Funk. In-ring quality: 2.5/5. Non-match angles and segments: 0/3. Bonus/Malus: lousy, sexist water park angles -0.75 Total: 3.75/10. Show seen on WWE Network."

[6.0] "Solid little episode here. Hogan vs Funk is, especially as Hogan TV matches go, actually quite good, and also has the novelty of being a rare matchup (they only ever had two singles matches, the other two weeks earlier on PRISM). Although nothing else quite hit the level of that match, the opener was fun, especially to see Ventura get in the ring again on the heel side; Savage and Steele was also fun and marked an early phase of the Animal's obsession with Elizabeth that would eventually carry all the way to WrestleMania III; and the tag match was decent enough especially with the odd style pairing of Steamboat and JYD on one side and on the other the pairing of Muraco and Fuji, the latter of whom was by this point primarily a manager (though certainly has plenty of previous tag team cred). Volkoff vs Kirchner is the weak link, but it's short."

The title match is great for it's era and there's a reason why everything happened, except for the Peace match where Corporal is a sore loser. The matches tallied together as a rating is 5.5 and the segment entertainment pushes the rating up a notch. I like it."

Even the matches that are not up to much are watchable thanks to the crowd heat. The Randy Savage and George Steele is weird with undertones of domestic abuse."

[6.0] "This was the best Saturday Night's Main Event so far at this point. A genuinely good WWF Title defense is my favourite part of this show; as Terry Funk and Hulk Hogan have a fun one. My least favourite part of the show is the segment with George Steele splashing around. I surprisingly enjoyed the Nikolai Volkoff and Corporal Kirschner match; I believe this was their Peace match; which was essentially a pure rules match of the 80's. This was Jesse Ventura's first match in like two years or something so it was a big deal at the time."

IT wasn't because it was the best event I had ever seen, but it was all I had to view wrestling when it wasn't on TV and until I recorded a few other things. Still, it holds a nostalgic place in my heart for that reason."

[7.0] "I thought this was actually a pretty good Saturday Night's Main event! I like 1 hour long wrestling shows a lot actually for when you don't have time to watch a whole 2-3 hour show. For me this card had one fun match Hulk Hogan vs Terry Funk, and two decent matches in The Hillbillies vs Roddy Pipe, Bob Orton, and Jesse Ventura and Ricky steamboat and Junkyard dog vs Mr Fuji and The Magnificent Muraco. Honestly I thought the Volkoff vs Corportal Kirchner match was fairly ok too. I also enjoyed the Mean Gene interviews especially the one where he drank Hogan's egg concoction. You wouldn't catch me drinking Hogan's raw egg juice tho!"

[4.0] "Firstly this shows skits are in a pool and they are kinda cool just like the skits form the last main event. i sure do hope they dont get rid of thees. Heenan is in place of the body is color for the first match wich is fine even tho im more of fan of the jesse both are good. The six man tag was not the worst wich is a complint to the heels cos the faces are useles (3.5/10). Hogan vs funk was a fun match even if i think it could have been better as a longer more involved match (6/10). Savge vs the animal was a bad match to start one of the worst fueds i have ever seen (2/10) The pace match was mauch better the expected (5.5/10) And the main evnt tag was ok (4/10) Honstly this show was better then it had any roght to be with most of the matches being fine even if the match that was not would go on to be the bane of my existence. Ill give this show a 4. Mvp was piper for making the first 15 ish mins of the show watchble dispite having elmer and co in them"

"This SNME was decent, fun interactive show. My least favorite matches were the Six Man Tag Match and Volkoff/Kirchner. Best Match I would say is the Main Event between Muraco&Fuji/Steamboat&JYD. I do have to say I did enjoy the Savage/Steele match. That feud would go to being one of my favorites for 1986. Rating: 4.4/10 Six Man Tag 3/10, Hogan/Funk 5/10, Savage/Steele 6/10, Volkoff/Kirchner 2/10, Muraco&Fuji/Steamboat&JYD 6/10"

Funk/Hogan is the most enjoyable bout, and the final match is very solid as well. The only match that's actually bad is Volkoff/Kirchner, the Corporal really stinks."

I'm not a fan. Ricky Steamboat/Junkyard Dog vs. Mr. Fuji/Don Muraco - 7/10 This one is notable for me because it's one of the only times I actually saw Ventura in a wrestling match. I really dislike Uncle Elmer but Hillbilly Jim is solid. Hogan vs. Funk and Savage vs. Steele are the highlights for me."

[6.0] "Despite the lack of quality matches throughout the first several SNME's, the wealth of talent that was in WWF in '85 along with this particularly well-crafted card elevates this show into 'satisfactory' level. The hillbillies are terrible competitors but are decent, if helpless, babyfaces because previous episodes have devoted themselves to covering their travails and important life happenstances. Funk-Hogan isn't great but at least it's good fun watching Funk bump about. This night featured the beginning of the seemingly endless Savage-'Animal' feud but the 'Beauty and the Beast' love triangle between these three is fantastic because no one truly loses. Savage wins the matches but Steele wins the fans hearts with his idiotic devotion. Volkoff is better than usual and it's good to give him a meaningful win before he is fed to Hogan. Finally, two strong house show babyfaces are given a TV win. The poolside viginettes aren't as fun as last episode's Halloween episode but at least there's plenty of bikini-clan babes including Liz, in the best of the viginettes, thrown mercilessly by the Savage into the water like an initiation ceremony."

Hogan vs Funk isn't a good match, the short Savage vs Steele is story driven and interesting on the road to Wrestlemania (even it there wasn't a phrase like that). Volkoff match was brutally bad, the main event fun but short. An acceptable event for some laughs."

Ricky Steamboat and Randy Savage's respective matches were the pieces that were fun, but overall there wasn't anything special about this show."
