| 2 | 20.07.2022 | Telecine | 6.0 | Ordentliche Show auf dem typischen Niveau von Impact Wrestling, bei der man nicht das Gefühl hat, wahnsinning wichtige Dinge der Wrestling-Welt zu erleben, aber einige überdurchschnittliche Matches zu sehen bekommt. Das Homecoming-Turnier ist nicht durchgehend gut. Missy Hyatts Auftritt ist zum Beispiel relativ sinnlos, weil auch vollkommen ohne jede Pointe. Aber das Debüt von Matthew Rehwoldt ist gelungen, weil er am Anfang noch bejubelt wird, es aber gut gelingt, ihn bis zum Ende der Show auf natürliche Weise als Heel zu etablieren. Seinen Namen finde ich allerdings ziemlich mäßig. Generell finde ich es mittlerweile schon fast klischeebehaftet, dass jetzt jeder entlassene WWE Wrestler unter seinem echten Namen antritt. Matt Cardona, Brian Myers, Matthew Rehwoldt oder auch W. Morrissey sind einfach keine guten Namen für Stars und es hatte auch seinen Grund, dass sie bei WWE nicht unter diesem Namen angetreten sind. Der Hingucker bei dieser Show ist sicherlich das X Division Title Match zwischen Josh Alexander und Black Taurus. Dieses Match ist für mich der einzige Grund, weswegen ich dann doch froh bin, die Show gesehen zu haben. Das Hardcore Match im Main Event zwischen W. Morrissey und Eddie Edwards ist dagegen durchscnittlich. Morrissey ist ein mäßiger Performer, dessen Serie an ungeschlagenen Matches aber dennoch mit einer Niederlage gegen Eddie Edwards vergeudet wirkt. Edwards hat in seiner Karriere ein Plateau erreicht, von dem er nicht mehr wirklich weiter zu steigen scheint. Also dürfte er durch den Sieg über den ungeschlagenen Morrissey auch nicht wirklich gestärkt werden, während Morrissey, obwohl vielleicht für so einen Monster Push ohnehin der Falsche, damit seinen Schwung verliert und endgültig zum Fehlschlag zu werden droht. |

Quite a few good matches on the card. Deonna and Matthew made a really good team and the crowd being super into Decay biting people was hilarious. |

The crowd being so into the entire show certainly helped, but other than maybe Dreamer/Ellering vs. Myers/Hyatt, all the matches were good(and even that match was kept short). The MOTN was definitely Alexander vs. Taurus, both guys killed it & Alexander continues being one of the best wrestlers in 2021! It was also great to see Matthew Rehwoldt's debut as "The Drama King", he did a damned good job on his first night with Impact, can't wait to see what else he has in store. Overall, I thought the tournament was fun & the main event was also a really good match! |

A treat for Impact fans, but if you're not a long time watcher, then at the very least go out of your way to see Alexander vs Taurus. |

This was clearly not the best of the exclusive events this year but I had a good time watching this show, nothing was over the ***1/4 range except for the X-Division match but almost nothing was really bad except for one match. - Purrazzo & Rehwoldt vs. Hernandez & Alisha (***) - Cardona & Green vs. Petey & Jordynne (***1/4) - Dreamer & Ellering vs. Myers & Hyatt (*3/4) - Decay vs. Bahh & Steelz (**3/4) Willie Mack vs. Deaner ? Morrissey vs. Eddie Edwards (***1/4) - All in all, a really fun show with a good tournament and a worth-watching match between Alexander and Taurus |
