[3.0] "With only two matches on the show going over five minutes (one of those barely), a long string of dull squashes, multiple interference angles designed to further feuds, lots of short interviews, and world champion Sting only there to watch Black Scorpion's silly magic tricks, this felt more like a particularly bad and overly-long episode of WorldWide or WWF's Superstars."

[3.0] "Ole Anderson is an asshole who sank WCW on purpose out of spite, cutting off his own nose in the process. The booking was bad/insulting to the fans ON PURPOSE; incredulous, disgusting. Usually the WCW bell to bell product was better than the WWF but not on this night. Recommended moment comes with Z Man HILARIOUSLY messing a blind cross body. The Black Scorpion stuff is DIRE, just repulsively bad television. Oh and don't even get me started on the Magnum Force situation or the wretchedly bad Sid Vicious vs Nightstaler. Almost everything is next/new level poor. A lesson in what NOT to do. Butch Reed & Ric Flair however, that delivers. Also, the "Michael Wallstreet" introduction is a guilty pleasure. 2.5"

[2.0] "It's so obvious from this show that Ole had already checked out, and giving him the book was an awful idea. So many trash matches, squashes, and appearances by nobodies, with fans barely reacting to some of them or even starting "boring" chants. Big Cat is all over the show, and he looked just awful in every aspect - his work sucked, his physique wasn't that impressive, and his promos weren't great either. Rotunda is doing his stupid Michael Wallstreet gimmick, Motor City Madman sucks ass, Sid and Adam Bomb have a nightmare of a match, while DeKlerk & Krueger, along with Kaluha and Beast, produce one of the worst pieces of wrestling I have ever seen. Thank God for the main event, though, as Flair managed to get one of the best matches of Butch Reed's career out of him, actually closing this godforsaken show on a positive note. Oh, and the segment with The Black Scorpion turning into an illusionist or some shit was truly one of a kind."

[3.0] "Two decent matches, a load of nothing matches, a couple of stinkers and one absolute horror show. Somehow Big Cat is all over this show too despite being a green idiot. And of course the Sting and Black Scorpion stuff is already established as bullshit but we've got to see it out through Starrcade."

[4.0] "This was a rough show. Instead of focusing on a few matches, WCW booked everyone they could for this show. It's probably for the best. The matches were generally bad, but at least they were over quick. The show opened with the Fabulous Freebirds taking on the Southern Boys in a 5-minute match that felt like 15. Flyin' Brian then took on Buddy Landel in one of the only matches long enough to rate on this show. It was fine. The Big Cat then took on Brad Armstong in a match that happened. Seriously, Big Cat ran out of moves he knew despite the match only being 4 minutes long. The Z-Man then defeated a debuting Brian Lee in a basic match. Michael Wallstreet showed off his new gimmick in a simple match against the Starblazer. Next is a match with some actual importance as Col. DeKlerk and Sgt. Krueger took on Kaluha and the Beast in the African Qualifiers for the Tag Tournament at Starrcade. It's actually one of the better matches on the show. Lex Luger defeated the Motor City Madman in a short match that was more interested in the Big Cat than the Madman. The Renegade Warriors battled the Nasty Boys to a confusing finish. Sid Vicious took on the Nightstalker in a short match. The Steiner Brothers squashed Magnum Force to defend their United States Tag Team Titles. Finally, Ric Flair and Butch Reed had an actually decent match which was enought to score the match of the night."

[4.0] "Perhaps it's because I came in with low expectations after checking the card before viewing, but I really didn't hate my time with this show, even if it was pretty uneventful. The majority of the matches were very short, but the upside of that was that nothing really lasted long enough to be all that bad, and I thought Pillman vs. Landel and Flair vs. Reed were pretty entertaining. The Black Scorpion segment was absolutely ridiculous, quite possibly one of the worst professional wrestling segments that I have ever seen... But it's SO bad that I can't help but laugh the entire time. This show is unquestionably not up to Clash Of The Champions standard and the card seem like minimal effort went in to it, but I was never bored, and I think that warrants a passing rating. I do think I would be much more critical of this show if I was watching at the time that it aired because it is such a drastic drop off in quality from what WCW was doing in 1989 (the roster is in absolute tatters by this stage - 'Big Cat' Curtis Hughes of all people somehow ended up in three segments! ), but watching it in 2024 knowing what I'm in for, I think it's an entertaining show to throw on if you're multitasking and want some fairly simplistic wrestling that doesn't ask a lot from the viewer."

[2.0] "This was a two-hour show and there were a lot of matches so they were all very short. The stuff with Sting and Black Scorpion was just bad. The main event was the longest match and it was kind of solid. Pillman and Landel also had a pretty fun sprint."

[5.0] "This was a pretty good episode of World Championship Wrestling...In all seriousness, was this kinda a sucky Clash? Yeah, but I guess I was more forgiven of this show than most. I think I found this to be more middling instead of just bad because with how short most the matches were at least this was an easy show to watch. My favourite thing from this show was the Buddy Landell vs Brian Pillman match; my least favourite was Sid Vicious vs The Nightstalker."

[3.0] "Wow, in just a few short months, this company has managed to muck up their roster, losing The Road Warriors, The Dynamic Dudes, Stan Lane, Jim Cornette, The Great Muta (who would come back at Starrcade for a one-off), Terry Funk, Gary Hart, Eddie Gilbert, and probably more. Instead, we get The Nasty Boys (which I don't mind), The Renegade Warriors, four unknown "African" wrestlers, The Motor City Madman, and the Big Cat, Mr. Hughes. And more and more Fabulous Freebirds. Amazingly, it's all downhill from here until Scott Hall shows up on Nitro in 1996. Ric Flair will leave mid-1991, Lex Luger in 1992, though Vader would rise up in the card and we'd get a brief visit from The British Bulldog. It's no wonder this company went out of business and this show was when I realized Clash of the Champions cards are not important anymore."

[2.0] "I watched this live on TBS. I remember I couldn't even fathom how much WORSE everything had become in a year. The November 1989 Clash was one of the best WCW cards of all time. The November 1990 was one of the worst. So many bad wrestlers. So little build. It was worse than most WCW Saturday Nights of the era. This card doesn't even reflect the horrendous Black Scorpion story of the time. As good as Ole Anderson was in 1979 to 1982 (and Georgia was AMAZING at the time), this was just the drizzlings s's."

[2.0] "Holy shit. What a godawful show. Only Pillman/Landel and Flair/Reed were watchable, and those two matches weren't even that good. The rest were just a long series of uninspiring squashes and a dumb Black Scorpion angle. Fuck this show. Worst Clash ever."
Tomas Cunha wrote on 25.06.2021:
[2.0] "What a complete mess of a show this was. Apart from Flair vs. Reed and Pillman vs. Landel, which were both pretty good in their own different ways, there's absolutely nothing to see from this crapfest. The Black Scorpion stuff is brutally stupid."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 23.03.2020:
[3.0] "A rather dull Clash. After the Freebirds and Southern Boys had pretty much the same match they had in the opening slots of the last two Clashes, we got a string of squashes, a tag match that no one cared about for the "Africa" slot of the Pat O'Connor international tag tournament, a few more squashes (Luger's at least gave him some impressive feats of strength, the Steiners-Magnum Force was pretty decent, and we got to see Sid take on a pre-Adam Bomb Bryan Clarke), a whole lot of Black Scorpion silliness, and finally a pretty good main event between Flair and Reed. Not an event worth going out of your way for."

[4.0] "The Black Scorpion story has a huge impact on the feud with Sting. The skits are terrible, the black magic is clearly faulty on a live stage and everything destroys the chance of a success on their feud. It was hilarious to see a person becoming a tiger and having his head spinned. Most of the card consists in squash matches without any chance to get interesting. The main event is okay."

[2.0] "Oh, good. We have another meeting of the racists (The Freebirds and The Southern Boys). Fantastic. Then we have the least impressive "Nature Boy", Buddy Landel -- at least Flyin' Brian beat 'im! Then we're on to a string of glorified squash matches. Not even The Steiners or Ric Flair could save this event. Definitely avoid."
