[4.0] "Absolutely horrid match between Roc Flair and the Junkyard Dog. Some other horrible matches and no matches that actually help make up for the slop in the ring"

[7.0] "Even with a lot of matches on the card, most were really strong, with fantastic tag team wrestling leading the way. The Southern Boys vs The Freebirds, Rock 'n' Roll vs Midnight, and Doom vs The Steiners were all very good bouts, plus Zenk & Rotunda vs The Samoans wasn't bad either. Pillman delivered another great babyface performance, Windham led Furnas into a fun match built around Doug's power, and Orndorff vs Anderson was the smoothest wrestling match of the night. On top of that, Flair got one of JYD's best matches at this stage of his career, so even though the finish was yet another DQ, I didn't mind it too much."

[3.0] "You can't field a main event like this and get away with it. The undercard was fine, if nothing special, but that main event was offensive to my eyes. JYD should be doing prelim jobs on house shows at this point, but Ole is in as booker and shit like this happens."

[6.0] "Somehow, despite the lack of standout moments on this show, it managed to be pretty entertaining. The opening match between the Southern Boys and the Fabulous Freebirds managed to be better than the majority of Freebirds matches around this time. Tommy Rich had a good, short match with Bam Bam Bigelow. Mike Rotunda and the Z-Man pulled one of the better matches out of the Samoan Swat Team, although it's still not good. Mean Mark and Flyin' Brian had a solid match over who has less of a last name. The Rock 'n' Roll Express and the Midnight Express had another really good match over the United States Tag Team Titles. Doug Furnas impressed in his debut against Barry Windham. Lex Luger defended his United States Heavyweight Title against Sid Vicious in a short match that somehow still managed to bet terrible and confusing. Doom had another good World Tag Team Title match against the Steiner Brothers. Paul Orndorff and Arn Anderson put on a match of the night performance, although they still didn't cross the line into something truly special. Finally, The Junkyard Dog stunk things out for the World Heavyweight title against Ric Flair."

[6.0] "While there's nothing that'll really blow you away, this is a pretty consistently solid show in terms of wrestling action. I didn't think anything was bad and there are a few matches that I thought were pretty good, with my vote for MOTN going to the Steiners vs Doom. The main event was ridiculous booking, but I was impressed that Flair managed to get a halfway decent match out of JYD at this stage in his career. There's nothing here that you desperately need to see, but it's a very easy-to-watch two hours of wrestling."

[5.0] "This show did have some brilliance on it, but overall I thought it was pretty middle of the road. It's 1990 and JYD is back on the scene; he cuts a promos that I don't understand and then gets a title shot in the main event. Arn Anderson and Paul Orndorff go out and steal the show. This show had too many DQ's on it for me."

[6.0] "This event was one of the more forgettable Clashes in the leadup to the Great American Bash 1990. Topped off by a brawl between the Dudes with Attitudes (Sting, Lex Luger, Junkyard Dog, & Paul Orndorff) and the Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, Sid Vicious, & Ole Anderson), this one was packed with a lot of average to above average matches. The Express match and the Southern Boys Vs. Freebirds were the best, but I did like the event overall."

[6.0] "There is good stuff from this show that is more than worth your time. The highlight is another great Steiners/Doom encounter, but there? s also another good Midnight/RNR bout and nothing is actually bad? until the main-event. I challenge you to find a Ric Flair match from the mid 80s all the way up to the mid 90s that is even half as bad as this was. JYD looked horrible, out of shape, slow, and was way out of Flair? s league to be in the main-event with him at this point. This is one of those shows that is not bad, but does suffer a little bit from its negative ? how you leave em? effect."

[6.0] "A decent Clash installment, with three good matches to its credit (Doom vs. Steiners, RnR vs. Midnights and Windham vs. Furnas) and everything else being at least passable. JYD won't go down as one of Flair's classic opponents of this era, but it was interesting to see what they did against each other. A good watch overall."

[6.0] "Almost forgettable edition of Clash of the Champions. The matches are almost all good (except maybe for Orndorff vs Anderson, which I did not like). Sid Vicious getting squashed in less than 30 seconds is a must see. The Tag team division delivered interesting matches. The main event wasn't exciting with Flair vs Sting rematch coming soon."
