[8.0] "It was a very good show in my opinion. I found this to be more centered around advancing story angles and feud progressions or initiations. This is very necessary as Takeover is just a few weeks away and the card is shaping up to be a very good one. The opener was MOTN and the main event was in second place to it. Rest of the card was not up to the standard. The positive includes Joe returning to wrestling and challenging Kross for the NXT title, Dakota's surprising heel turn, Ridge's return and joining forces with Oney and Pete. (trio of bad asses). Walter vs Ilja 2 at Takeover (I'm pumped for it). The stuff with the way is interesting too. It will be Lumis vs Gargano next week with InDex at stake. I also like the relationship between Zoey and Io and how it was portrayed in that segment. Cole cut a good promo and Kyle snapping on Cole finally connecting with the brain-buster on the steel steps after putting his emotion into place was a brilliant way to end the episode. I don't like all the Robert Stone, Mandy Rose and co. stuff. I find it to be cringe at times and at times very boring and meaningless. I liked Hit-Row's promo too but half of the time, I end up confused on what they were even trying to say. Just my problem, I guess because the public loves them. The Grimes & Knight segments are hilarious and give a good laugh. More of them please. After that Dibiase appearance, I suspect Grimes turning on Knight soon enough and we can have them face each other at Takeover. Probably, even get Hit-Row/Legado or Thatcher/Dunne which would be pretty dope. 8 it is for me."
[5.0] "Worth watching, but not necessarily. It's always good to see Ted Dibiase in these in-between matches video segments. Cameron Grimes and LA Knight had some funny moments on golf field. Finally Dakota turned on Raquel. I saw it coming and I'm glad it happened. Also, we have a turning point in Hartwell-Lumis lovestory. I wonder who is going to win Gargano or Lumis. Timothy Thatcher, Tommaso Ciampa vs Oney Lorcan, Pete Dunne was The Match of The Night."
[8.0] "what a way to open the show with joe resigning his post in management to come back as an active wrestler the match with karrion should set joe up to be a 3 time nxt champion and send karrion off on his adventure on raw excellent start to the show.. Grimes and Knight are gold in everything they're doing and the match that they're building to at takeover could be a showstealer.. carmelo hayes has a very bright future it's going to be fun to watch his progression.. casey and carter continue to impress and could be tag champs at some point.. oney /dunne vs ciampa/thatcher delivered as only athletes like them can.. the hit row imperium match was a bit flat but did it's job just not on the standards of the rest.. a perfect job by dakota finally turning on raquel.. looking forward to the build for this one and the match at takeover.. and now.. cole and reed.. very good match that had a good amount of time but it's the aftermath that stood out with kyle attacking cole potentially setting up a loser leaves nxt match at takeover.. could cole be smackdown or raw bound ? .. overall grade... 8"
[4.0] "All the segments and promos of this episode were great, all the matches were pointless and frankly, kinda garbage. Worst NXT episode in a long time."
[7.0] "Two big talking points on this week's show - Samoa Joe has been reinstated as a wrestler, and will challenge (and hopefully defeat) Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship at Takeover; and Dakota Kai finally pulled the trigger on her split with Raquel Gonzalez, and got cheered for doing it. Did Raquel not realise that Dakota has history with betraying friends? Fine collection of matches, but nothing to go out of your way for."
[6.0] "The opening and closing matches were good, all the rest felt kind of eh. The Samoa Joe contract signing was good, and the Knight-Grimes segments are hilarious. Dakota Kai turning on Raquel and Ridge Holland returning were notable as well."
