It's absolutely worth checking out for the amazing Gordy vs Khan bout - a bloody war with a fantastic build and strong storytelling toward the finish. The Fantastics vs The Pretty Young Things also delivered a very good tag match, with Fulton standing out in particular, and Parsons & Kerry vs Roberts & Kiniski worked nicely as a star-driven attraction. Beyond that, nothing too eye-catching, though most matches were at least solid - except for the dreadful Akbar vs Donovan. The main event was short, but the aftermath made it worthwhile, as the fans got exactly what they wanted: Adams taking a well-deserved beating. |
| 2 | 17.01.2024 | CMFunk007 | 7.0 | Solid Thanksgiving Star Wars card. Two great tag matches: The Fantastics/PYTs and Kerry/Iceman Vs. Roberts/Kiniski, plus Kevin Von Erich going completely nuclear on Chris Adams and Gary Hart. Gordy Vs. Khan was amazing but flawed. WCCW has regained momentum they were losing going into this one and we've seen the last of Stella Mae French.. |
| 3 | 10.12.2023 | DanTalksRasslin | 6.0 | This started off a bit slow, with Missing Link squashing Buck Zumhofe (as he should), and neither the women's match nor Donovan vs Akbar amounting to much. But things picked up for the remainder of the show, with a pair of good tag matches in the Fantastics vs. Koko Ware /Norvell Austin and Kerry Von Erich/Iceman Parsons vs Jake the Snake/Kelly Kiniski and a bloody Texas Death Match between Gordy and Khan. Hernandez vs Mike Von Erich was also good while it lasted, and while the Adams vs Kevin Von Erich vs Chris Adams was so short that it was really more an angle than a match per se, it worked effectively nonetheless. A solid holiday special. |
| 4 | 28.02.2017 | jboyaquar | | Houston Wrestling 08/03/84 – The Guerreros vs. The Fantastics: Goodness, the Guerrero’s get quality heel heat. And we get ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ for the arrival of Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers clad in white tails and top hats. They should be doing more strutting/dancing to get the women screaming. Paul Boesch is highly complementary of T Rogers’s skills. Early it’s all the pretty whities using tag team delights like the 4 man wishbone. But then the crafty brawler w/in Chavo outsmarts the babyfaces. Hector’s a crisp, fine worker as well, ie. his leaping, standing leg drop. The crowd is just rocking in the Coliseum as the babyfaces work themselves back, but each time the Guerrero’s prevent a tag, or the ref seeing a tag. Finally, Rogers has had enough, dropkicks Chavo, who is holding his brother up from being Sunset Flipped by Fulton, causing the roll-up and the pin and the explosion from the crowd. There’s an unfashionable dude clad in a white/orange 80’s style baseball cap who gave fifteen low high-fives to his pal after the victory. He’s ecstatic, and I bet some young ladies are too. Fun stuff. 6. 25 |
