[4.0] "A very boring show with a nice main event, a below average new Japan b-show, the undercard seems like a road to: show, Toa Henare was very expected and the match was just a generic six man tag. The Jr Tag Title match was okay, however I thought it could have been better, maybe they should have given YOH a few warm up matches to shake off ring rust, or even just one match before as an attraction for a road to: show, and finally the main event, it was a very good match, it was the worst of the singles matches these guys have had but still a four star match."

[7.0] "Good show, but with a card that resembles too much a "road to" show. All the main matches were good, with the main event being the obvious highligh (I mean, how could it not be? ). Interesting how much storyline development occured, lots of promos for a New Japan show. They were succesful in building hype in the Jay x Tanahashi feud, and also the future of the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. Now, bring on the New Japan Cup USA!"

[7.0] "One of the weakest "big shows" lately. Mid-card matches were pretty much time-fillers. Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Title was below expectations as well as the main event. The last two matches are definitely worth watching, but they are not as good as you would expect from such a big event. I have to mention Hiromu Takahashi, who did a great opening segment and I loved his work on commentary. He cracked me up couple of times."

Henare joining the United Empire was predictable. I'd like to see someone have the new title for awhile. Looks like Okada will get it whenever he faces Ospreay. Probably at the Tokyo Dome event in May."

Giving the title to ospreay was very shoking .. too soon as well , i hope it will not kill him like it did to switchblade .. poor ibushi after going through hell with the unification he lost his first defence ...."

[7.0] "Judging from match three onwards, this was a really solid show. The United Empire vs LIJ 6-man tag team match was one of the best undercard matches I've seen this year. Tanahashi/Kojima vs White/Fale was inoffensive, nothing great but brief enough. The IWGP Junior Tag title match dragged a bit. Ospreay vs. Ibushi was an excellent main event, and Ospreay winning was a genuine surprise that didn't feel forced or undeserved. Ospreay winning the title reinvigorates the main event picture, especially with Takagi and Okada in the near future."

[7.0] "Three mediocre undercard matches, one decent one (UE vs LIJ). The last two matches were both very good and highly competitive. Starting with Sakura Genesis, NJPW are kicking off one of their most pivotal stretches in years: Satsuma (two nights), Dontaku (two nights), Yokohama Stadium, The Tokyo Dome (? ! ), and Dominion in just two months. Future storylines were gonna be key in this event and they were hit-and-miss. Newly-minted IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay has two great opponents lined up; YOH will challenge Depsy; Jay will challenge Tana; BC vs CHAOS will continue; GoD vs DT; Cobb will face Ibushi. No doubt there will be more as time goes on but this isn't enough to get excited about given the dates booked. GoD need new challengers; Naito needs a meaningful goal; a few of these shows may have a Special Singles match or multi-man tag as main event. NJPW have built insane levels of hype for the next few months and I just hope they can deliver."

[8.0] "An entertaining, easy to watch show. Henare has been ready for an opportunity for 2-3 years, and looked very good. United Empire are being effectively built as the new top heel faction, with Will Ospreay's crowning moment sure to upset his haters, but what has been building for 3 years and well earned. It has been clear for a couple of years that Okada vs Ospreay will be New Japan's upcoming top feud and the past few months have set that up very nicely indeed."

Having an audience able to express themselves properly for some of the moments on this show wouild've added so much. As things were, it was a pretty weak card. The matches basically existed to set up some further storylines that we mostly knew were happening already. The tag match was acceptable but I was expecting a bit more from the return. The main draw of this show was the fantastic Ibushi vs Ospreay bout, the rest are pretty forgettable."

[7.0] "A great main event supported by an entertaining jr tag title match and the return of roppongi 3k as well the debut of aaron henare in the United Empire, a much needed heel turn. The other 3 matches are skippable but whatever overall a good show."

[8.0] "A one-match card with that one match very much delivering, with a pretty fun undercard to make this a pretty good show overall."
Suzukigun wrote on 04.04.2021:
[7.0] "A good show. The undercard was fine, the Junior tag title match was very good (***1/2) with Yoh looking terrific in his return. The main event was great, and while I won't be as high on it as many others, it was still worthy of ****1/4+ in my opinion. The end result will be a polarizing one, but as far as New Japan goes, it revitalizes the main event scene and creates some unexpected chaos, which I am all for. New Japan has been a roller coaster of ups and downs during the pandemic and at least this could be a good stretch, unlike EVIL's reign. I'm excited for the future."
