[9.0] "Very fun episode, the story stuff is really coming together well, and Benoit vs. D'Lo is as great as a 4 minute match as you're likely to see."

[10.0] "Fantastic episode of SmackDown that was hugely storyline driven and watching the downfall of the McMahon-Helmsley Regime these past few weeks has been really entertaining as Undertaker, Kane and The Rock cause major dissension amongst the heels because they all find themselves booked by Triple H, Shane and Vince into #1 contenders matches without the knowledge of the others and all of them end up winning making the main event scene feel increasingly unpredictable to watch. This was great to watch all night and theres a surprisingly great handicap match here where The Rock beats Edge and Christian and Kane vs Triple H was a solid main and it's pretty cool to watch Kane outsmart Triple H the way he does with a nice pop for Earl Hebner's return as well. Outside of that, the show was pretty solid with the King of the Ring tournament continuing and there was a pretty cool upset where Crash defeats Albert. Too Cool vs The Hardys was enjoyable until it was cut short and Benoit has a very good short match with D'Lo as well. The arm wrestling match should just be skipped, but other than that there was nothing to complain about here and it was a highly entertaining show."

[7.0] "The scenario of each of Vince, Triple H and Shane putting their rivals in a number one contender's match without consulting each other was entertaining and a solid through line to build the episode around. The ensuing tension among the Faction also created some progression in the storyline, but they were obviously going to be all friendly again soon as if nothing happened. The resolution of the number one contender matches also creates some intrigue. The Rock vs Edge & Christian was a rare handicap match that's actually fun to watch and was the highlight of the show."

[8.0] "Usually the mark against these shows is how the short the matches are but while other shows feel like two guys meandering and waiting until the run-in happens the short matches on this show actually delivered some chaotic action in a 2-3 minute window, Angle vs. Bradshaw especially. Throw that together with a solid show-long storyline and a great handicap match and this is the best SmackDown on the attitude era for my money."

[9.0] "This was a really good storyline-focused episode, as Undertaker, Kane, and Rock all had to earn the #1 contendership with the odds stacked against them. The matches were good on this show as well except for Crash/Albert and the Undertaker squash."

[10.0] "This was a great show. The egos in the McMahon Helmsley era is starting to show with all of them booking #1 contender without them consulting one another for it and all of them failing, sk therefore we now have 3 #1 contender. The matches here were good with hot crowds to help enhance them. Benoit/Dlo can't be recommended but that was a really good match."

[10.0] "This is an excellent show. The match quality is very high across the board and everything is moving at a fantastic clip. It's a pity that Benoit/D-Lo is too short to be added to the guide, as that is one of D-Lo's very best matches, up there with his match with AJ in TNA."
