[5.0] "Just a nothing show. The only thing I remember from that night was the United Empire attacking Tenzan. Definitely a notch down from other New Year Dash events."
[6.0] "New Year Dash served its usual purpose - it was a very watchable, but benign show that served as something of a come-down from the Wrestle Kingdom hangover, and helped set up a few new programs (Ibushi-SANADA, Takahashi-SHO, etc. ) with a bit of intrigue along the way (Ishii pinning White)."
[5.0] "Not a bad show, but not something I'd necessarily call good either. Did well enough to set up NJPW's New Beginning shows but really nothing stand-out here or that I would've gone out of my way to see. Kidd vs Nagata: **3/4+. Suzuki & DOUKI vs Uemura & Tiger Mask: ***1/2-. Empire vs Tsuji & TenKoji: **1/2-. Suzuki-gun vs Bullet Club: **3/4. CHAOS vs Bullet Club: ***1/4+. Seiki-gun vs LIJ: ***+. The main thing I felt coming out of this show is indifference, so you could say this show failed at it's main goal, but the show itself was inoffensive if underwhelming. Looking forward to Tana vs Shingo and SHO vs Hiromu, cautiously optimistic about Ishimori & ELP vs Despy & Kanemaru, and hoping we get Uemura vs Suzuki at some point, but not looking forward to O-Khan vs Tenzan, Tekkers vs GoD, BUSHI vs Wato, or Ibushi vs SANADA."
[6.0] "Nothing truly remarkable or bad. Wheels are in motion for several future match-ups and a few stories advance. A decent enough watch with a runtime which flew by. It's being called a show of no surprises but I was surprised at least once. A nice come-down episode after Wrestle KIngdom."
[7.0] "A fine show with good wrestling and quality matchups being set for upcoming cards. It didn't have a big twist or stunning development, but the pandemic's effect on the nation may have been a big reason for why the show was so tame. Match quality wise, every match was in the *** to ***1/2 range. Notable matches that got set up from this show include Tanahashi vs Shingo, Hiromu vs Sho, further seeds for Ibushi vs Sanada, Bushi vs Wato on a lighter scale, and I guess Okada vs Evil? Again, it was a good show, not worth staying up for, but still an easy watch. I won't punish the show for being tame. It was too decent for that kind of backlash. 6. 5/10"
[7.0] "Classic Wrestle Kingdom "after show" useful to build the feuds for next matches. And the result is: very good matches here and very very good matches to come."
[6.0] "Not a bad show by any means. It featured good action and I was entertained most of the time. It did a good job doing what it was meant to do, which is setting up future matches. I am mostly excited by getting Shingo/Tanahashi and SANADA/Ibushi. My match of the night was the main event, with the semi-main as a close second."
[4.0] "The most surprising part of this year's New Year Dash was... No surprises at all. Ok, I suppose? Empire looked impressive killing TenKoji, couple of decent matches at the end of the show, not much more."
