[6.0] "The storyline all show where there was a lot of twists and turns until we wound up going from Chyna as the #1 contender to a triple threat match involving Mankind and Triple H might have been entertaining viewing watching it live, but it makes the show feel like a bit of a clusterf**k watching it now. Mankind had no build to his title shot whatsoever and just gets one immediately after he returns on this show! The series of matches put together for it and the logic in how it was put together was just one Russo swerve after another. Elsewhere there was a pretty funny moment where Jericho was supposed to get heat for telling Undertaker he was boring, but he didn't because he was 100% correct. Crash Holly's debut was great where he was brought in by his cousin Hardcore, but then they immediately start brawling all over the arena. The Rock is given very little with the terrible storyline/feud with Mr Ass, but he is still a joy to watch when he trash talks him. The tag title match was pretty good. Most of the show is entertaining, but some of the booking decisions here is making me scratch my head!"

The way The Rock controls a crowd is simply phenomenal. Good show to build towards SummerSlam even through the booking around the #1 contender is just filled with countless swerves for no reason."

[7.0] "Last Raw is War episode before SummerSlam 1999 and one of the wildest and weirdest episodes of all time. Crash Holly made his debut. Rock cuted a cool promo and Undertaker cuted a terrible one that was fortunately ended by Chris Jericho. The booking of SS main event is one of the stupidest things in wrestling I ever saw. I am almost sure that Vince Russo was a part of that. Howewer in some way I enjoyed it. It is so bad that it is good. Main event is nice though even with another dumb ending."
