[8.0] "Very good show. Decent opener by the Young Lions. The first two G1 matches of the show were decent but unspectacular. I was actually disappointed here because Cobb and Suzuki on paper could have stolen the show. Then, Ibushi and Ishii delivered one of the best matches of the tournament (G1 30). Ospreay and Takagi followed with another great match. The final match however was a little disappointing. I expected a lot more from White Vs Okada. Despite that it was still a very good show with the latter half of the show producing two ****1/2+ matches that are in the top 10 matches of the 2020 edition of G1 Climax."

[Shingo vs Ospreay] - 5 stars (Match of the Night, MOTYC). [Okada vs White] - 3 1/4 stars. Average match rating: 3. 5 of 5 stars (or 7 of 10)."

[8.0] "This could've been the G1 show of the year if not for the main event. Taichi/Yujiro was surprisingly good, I'll give it a ***1/4. Suzuki/Cobb was better and shorter, but with an abrupt ending. Ibushi/Ishii was borderline great, but I expected a bit more because that's how great they both are. Shingo vs Ospreay was the match of the night, in the ****1/4 to ****1/2 range. The main event was a disappointment at ***. That's why this show gets a 7. 5 instead of an 8. 5 or a 9. Okada in 2020, post-Wrestle Kingdom, has been utterly skippable for a cliched storyline that I'm ready to give up on."

[7.0] "This had the potential to be the best night of the tournament on paper but it just turned out to be very good instead. For me night 1 has still been the best and most consistent night overall. This show had some highs and lows. Let us start with the highs with a great Ishii vs Ibushi match. This was not as amazing as their previous matches but still pretty great. Ospreay vs Shingo was a great match but not on the level of their match at the BOSJ finals last year. That being said I amlooking forward to the eventual rubber match between them. Now for the lows, the main event was very disappointing and probably the weakest main event of any of the G1 shows so far. We know that both Jay and Okada are capable of so much more but what we got was just decent. Speaking of just decent, Cobb vs Suzuki was not as good as I thought it would be. I guess I expected them to have a straight up brawl like Ishii vs Suzuki but they worked a very different kind of match that was slow paced and never really got into a higher gear. Overall the show was saved by the two great matches towards the end of the card but the start and end were different variations of decent but forgettable matches."

[8.0] "Good show with 3 really good matches to end the show. Taichi vs Yujiro * * * Cobb vs Suzuki * * * 1/4 Ishii vs Ibushi * * * * 1/2 Ospreay vs Shingo * * * * 1/2 Okada vs White * * * * 1/4. Also with Okada at 1-2 this seems like the perfect time to bring back the rainmaker. I've enjoyed both of his main events so far but it would improve his matches if he did this and of course drop the damn money clip."

[8.0] "A really good show . The opening match (Kidd/Tsuji) was good as it showcased young talent and assured that the future of NJPW is in good hands. Taichi/Yujiro was better than i thought but considering it had Yujiro it was not gonna be a great match. Suzuki/Cobb was ok and Jay/Okada was very dissapointing. However this was compensated by Ibushi/Ishii and Ospreay/Tagaki which I consider MOTN. Overall, a very good show and highly reccomended as a whole."

[9.0] "A good show very recomemded. Godd opening of the young luons wirh good tecnic. Taichi and Takashi with a good storytelling. Cobb vs Suziki a bit kower than I expected. Amazing Ibushi vs Ishii, giving another clasic match. Ospreay vs Takagi stilling the show with a 5 star match. And Okada vs White, soild and entreteining, but not enough good for a main event of a G1."

[8.0] "Overall really good show. Young Lion match was an easy, fun watch. Yujiro vs Taichi was better than expected. Fun match ***1/4. Cobb vs Suzuki was a really good short burst match ***1/2. Ibushi vs Ishii was fucking awesome. These guys don't disappoint. Similar to their G128 match with the throat strikes and hits but overall just awesome action and one of the best of the tourney so far ****1/2. Ospreay vs Shingo was fucking epic. These guys have insane chemistry. While I wouldn't argue with people who liked Ishii/Ibushi more, this is MOTN and MOTG1, and a MOTY candidate. The first match I feel superceded COVID and delivered full *****. Okada vs White was good, their weakest match though. Okada without the Rainmaker is holding his matches back a lot ***3/4."

[7.0] "Decent show! 1) Taichi/Takahashi - **. Whatever, sure, cool, whatever, moving on. 2) Cobb/Suzuki - **1/4. Man, this wasnt good. I feel they both tried really hard to make it work, but the chemistry just wasnt there. 3) Ibushi/Ishii - ****1/4. I'll fight anyone who disagree with the fact that Tomohiro Ishii is a wrestling god and one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Obviously, this match is a rank below their G1 2018 (15-minute all timer) and Yokohama 2014 match (another all time classic), but still amazing nonetheless. 4) Takagi/Ospreay - ****1/2. The rating right now is 8. 63, which is laughably low. I never understood why people give a shit about what professionals do in their personal life, whatever, its 2020, lets keep the PC outrage culture going, lets go guys, lets keep bombing Will Ospreay matches until he dies, come on guys, we can do it. 5) White/Okada - ***1/4. I'm very done with this pairing. Okada is clearly taking this year off, which in my honest opinion is warranted after all these years of overworking, carrying the entire company on his back, delivering 30-minute main events night after night. Jay White is Jay White, hes okay. Kazuchika 'Im on vacation' Okada + Jay 'Im alright' White + done to death pairing = okay match once again. Overall, the show had its highs and lows, but still very enjoyable!"

[9.0] "A great show. The first two tournament matches were fine, but the last three were all great to varying degrees. The only thing that keeps this from being a 10 is the main event could have been a little better given the talent involved. Still a great night of wrestling."

Jeff Cobb Vs Minoru Suzuki: **3/4. Kota Ibushi Vs Tomohiro Ishii: ****3/4. Will Ospreay Vs Shingo Takagi: *****. Kazuchika Okada Vs Jay White: ****1/2."
