[7.0] "Pretty alright episode that's heightened by a great angle at the end of the episode with Brodie beating Cody. Him squashing him like that so soon after failing to win the Men's World title makes Cody look like a bit of a chump in kayfabe, which I don't think was intended, but that's really no big deal in the long run. Even if it's a better moment than match, it's my MOTN, with the FTR vs Private Party match being a close second. The women's division still is visibly struggling, though, with the tag tournament match not helping with that."

[5.0] "Pretty average episode. More about the promos and angles rather than any particularly good matches. I know that this will be a positive for some people but I am personally a bit more biased towards matches. The Moxley promo was top tier though. [FTR vs Private Party] - 2 1/4 stars. [8 man tag] - 2 3/4 stars. [Elite vs Dark Order] - 3 1/4 stars (Match of the Night). [Darby Allin vs Hobbs] - 2 stars. [Tag Cup final] - 2 stars (Worst of the Night). [Brodie Lee vs Cody] - 2 1/2 stars. Average match rating: 2. 46 of 5 stars (or 4. 92 of 10). Rounded to 5 for Cagematch."

[6.0] "Above average and an improvement over the previous week. Still a lot of low points like the 4v4 clusterfuck, the trash Jericho-Cassidy segment and the women's tag team cup final. Thankfully the good things slightly outnumber the bad, with the title change, MJF's lawyer's promo, Ricky Starks and the FTR-Page segment. Let's hope they'll get even better next week."

[9.0] "Great show as most Dynamites, but with a superb and shocking last angle in Brodie's spectacular win and Dark Order bringing the chaos that makes this show one of the best so far and thus a 9/10."

[6.0] "Satisfactory show but not quite spectacular Top 3 of the Night 3. Kenny Omega 2. FTR 1. Mr Brodie Lee"

[3.0] "I thought this was one of the worst Dynamite shows since its inception. With some ridiculous botches and misses in every match, which has become incredibly common, this show only warrants a 3. The only pluses were the promos."

[6.0] "An unremarkable show until the final match, which delivered drama in spades. FTR vs Private Party was perfectly fine but could have been slightly quicker and more heated. FTR and Tully Blanchard make a natural pairing, at least. The Moxley and MJF promos were excellent, especially Moxley's. The eight man tag was decent, although the babyfaces felt like complete afterthoughts, and the ease with which the heels turned on each other felt silly. I'm sceptical that this is the best use of Eddie Kingston but I'm just damn excited to see him again so I'm willing to let this play out. Allin vs Hobbs was nothing, and even if the aftermath was a little predictable, it was still fun - Ricky Starks has an abundance of charisma, to say the least. The final of the Dynamite Draw tournament was poor, although at least the right team won in the end. While I appreciate AEW giving the women's division more screen time, it's difficult to see what's really been achieved by this progression of poor-to-average quality matches. The final match of the night, however, saved a mostly stagnant show - Brodie showcased his excellent athleticism and the shocking extent to which the Dark Order destroyed Cody felt huge. Excited to see where this goes next."

[9.0] "What a banger of a episode and the matches weren't even stacked. Thoroughly enjoyed the booking by having Brodie Lee win in a squash and having the correct team win the Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament."

[8.0] "This was a good show. There were no bad matches, great progression and build up for Sep 5 AEW All Out. And an amazing finish and main event. It was less than 5 mins but damn it did more in 5 mins than most main events do. Brodie freaking Lee destroyed Cody."
Matt Macks wrote on 23.08.2020:
[10.0] "Great show this week with some major storyline developments. FTR and Tully, Omega going crazy, the promos by Mox, MJF and his laywer, Eddie Kingston, Ricky Starks, the Nightmare Sisters getting upset in the Tag Team Cup and then the shocking main event where Cody got zero offense and got destroyed by Brodie Lee. What a great show and it's only two weeks before the next PPV."

[9.0] "Good show, they planned this to include a lot of spotfests and segments, given the Saturday night move and the lack of NXT competition. Liked it overall, interested in what they do with Brodie Lee."

[9.0] "Great show. I liked everything this week, though I question the reveal of the "Mimosa Mayhem" match. Gpod angle to shut the show, though JR needs to stop using the Owen voice to get over angles."

[9.0] "This was another really strong Dynamite overall, I thought. As for the matches I thought they were all fairly enjoyable in their own ways, for full length matches I liked the opener most and I love the pairing with Tully. Nothing beats the main event though, which was shocking in the absolute best way. I hope AEW does matches like this every once in a while, just an unexpected blowout because one guy got off on the right foot and managed to just run wild on the other guy. Brodie looked awesome doing it and I loved the whole post match segment."

[9.0] "Back on a roll with one of the best Dynamites of either pandemic era or not. The taped shows get all the fat trimmed away and are just nonstop excellence. No full moments and the show just keeps pushing forward. The action was good TV level, nothing superb, but really good and ever flowing. Constant entertainment. The promos tonight we're tremendous, especially Starks who came across like an absolute star. FTR vs Private Praty showcased PP in a regular non spot style tag and it was good ***1/4. 8 Man tag was fast paced craziness ***1/2. Same goes for the 6 man ***1/2. Women's Tag finals was probably the best of that tourney too **3/4. Main Event was a tremendous angle to put over Brodie and Dark Order. A rematch should be great. Overall, again, matches weren't standout, but we're all thoroughly enjoyable with just a tremendous flow of action and story"
