It was short and fun and a much needed performance from the women's division. Penelope Ford totally captured me. Other than that, the main event and opening were Also pretty good."

[8.0] "Eine sehr gute Show mit weitgehend makelloser In Ring Action und einer guten Promo von Taz. Das einzige Match, was mir persönlich weniger gefallen hat, ohne dass ich es aber als schlecht bezeichnen würde, war das Tag Match zwischen Private Party und Santana & Ortiz. Das liegt aber vor allem daran, dass ich mit Private Partys spotlastigem Stil nicht so wirklich was anfangen kann. Highlights der Card waren für mich dagegen überraschenderweise das Women's Title Match, das ich vor der Show nicht wirklich auf dem Schirm hatte und auch Cody-Hager. Das Tag Team Championship Match im Main Event hatte vielleicht mit einer etwas zu hohen Erwartungshaltung zu kämpfen, nachdem Omega & Page zuletzt eins der besten Tag Team Matches hatten, die man bei AEW bisher gesehen hat. Dieses Match hier wirkte dagegen nur wie ein solides TV Main Event, aber ich fand es dennoch gut. Insgesamt eine starke Show mit guten Matches und ohne große Schwächen."

Cody/Hager war eine Enttäuschung, während das Private Party Match grauenhaft war. So auch alles mit Jericho & seinem idiotischen Fehdenpartner. Taz & MJF zusätzlich mit soliden Promos 5. 75"
[8.0] "Starker erster Tag vom Fyter Fest. Die Deko ist wieder ganz nett gestaltet und so kann eine gute Show beginnen. Los geht es mit einem guten Tag Team Match zwischen dem Express und MJF/Wardlow. Das war der passende Opener. Flottes Match mit schönen Tag Team Kombinationen und natürlich führt ein Missverständnis zur Niederlage für die Heels. Großer Sieg also für den Express. Das hat wirklich Spaß gemacht. Ich finde Wardlow könnte ruhig öfter antreten, der gefällt mir im Ring. Die Sequenzen zwischen ihm und Luchasaurus waren super. Es folgt die Titelverteidigung von Shida gegen Ford. Und wiederum ein tolles Match. Ford kann man vor allem für ihren Kampfgeist und ihr Durchhaltevermögen loben. Tolle Kick Outs von ihr. Spannendes Match der beiden. Hat mir wirklich sehr gefallen. Es folgt Cody gegen Hager. Das Match war auch ganz ok. Ist natürlich wrestlerisch ganz anders als die ersten beiden Matches. Aber wußte durchaus zu gefallen, vermutlich Hagers bestes Match bisher bei AEW. Gerade das Finish hat mir wirklich ganz gut gefallen. Nach den beiden Jungspunden hier also ein großer Sieg von Cody. Gut für den TNT Titel. Das schwächste Match des Abends ist sicherlich Private Party gegen Ortiz/Santana. Das war nett, aber nichts besonderes. Private Party kriegen also einen Shot gegen die Champs. Der Main Event war für mich das Match des Abends. Tolles Tag Team Wrestling zwischen den Friends und der Elite. Ab und an habe ich sogar mit dem TItelwechsel gerechnet aber schlußendlich setzen sich die Champs durch. Tolles Match und guter Abschluß der Show. Freue mich auf Tag 2."
[6.0] "Ähnlich wie bei NXT war hier die Erwartung hoch und sie wurde nicht im Ansatz erfüllt. Kein Match bleibt von dieser Show mehr als 24 Stunden in Erinnerung. Selbst für eine normale Dynamite Show wäre es schwach gewesen."
[7.0] "[Jurassic Express/Wardlow&MJF] Good opener --- dynamic, great pacing throughout. (***1/2) [Shida/Ford] Decent. Ford had her best showing in AEW thus far, while Shida was on-point as always. MOTN. (***1/2) [Cody/Hager] Exceeded expectations. Cody again succeeded in making his opponent look like a million bucks --- no small feat, in this case. On the downside, the mid-portion dragged. (***1/2) [Private Party/Santana&Ortiz] Solid work from both teams --- the match just didn't connect with me. (***) [Page&Omega/Best Friends] Weird match --- decent when broken down for viewing, yet deflated when viewed in one sitting. IMO the main problem was the champs' control segment over Trent, which took up a huge chunk of the mid-portion --- they had ZERO sense of urgency, which really took the air outta the ball. Decent --- disappointing. (***1/4) Overall, a solid card."
[8.0] "Der Opener ist ein mehr als anständiger Start in dieses Event. Luchasaurus zeigen das wie schon von ihnen im Singlesbereich gesehene Big Man Spotfest, welches ihre jeweiligen Partner gut ergänzen, wobei sich am Ende das bessere Teamwork des Jurassic Expresses durchsetzt. Shida und Ford zeigen danach ein ganz anderes Match aber auf ähnlichem Niveau, welches vor Allem eine gute Härte und Intensität ( wenn auch nicht die tiefste Story) zu bieten hat. Cody und Hager zeigen dann wie erwartet das Sportsentertainmentmatch des Abends, welches sich insgesamt aber vom Niveau her einfügt. Natürlich steht das wrestlerische hier nicht so im Vordergrund aber die Charakterdarstellung und auch die Integration von Catalina sowie das Finish sind passend und gelungen. Private Party gegen Inner Circle ist dann das "schwächste" Match, was einiges aussagt da es immer noch ein anständiges Standardspotfest der beiden Teams ist. Das ME ist dann für mich das MOTN. Es ist nicht nur das beste, dynamischste Spotfest sondern hat eben auch die Storykomponente mit den Spannungen zwischen den Champsdie ja auch mit dem Post Match Angle gut illustriert werden. Abseits des Ringgeschehens gefällt mir auch die Promo von Tazz und vor Allem auch die Vignette von Shida, deren Englisch wirklich immer besser wird. Insgesamt war das eine gute, unterhaltsame Show, bei welcher es vor Allem auch verschiedene Typen oder Mischtypen von Matches gab. Insgesamt sind in meinen Augen 8 Punkte gerechtfertigt."
[8.0] "Ich fand diese Ausgabe ziemlich stark und deutlich besser als in den Vorwochen. Alle Matches konnten mich überzeugen und hatten jeweils nette kleine Storys, wodurch sich nichts wiederholend angefühlt hat. Penelope Ford mit ihrer bisher besten Leistung, nettes Match gegen Shida. Ebenfalls mit seiner besten Leistung bei AEW ist hier Jake Hager. Er hat diese Leistung unbedingt gebraucht, da er bisher wenig überzeugt hat, Match war gut mit einem überraschendem Finish. Opener und PP vs. Inner Circle ebenfalls sehr ordentlich und auch der Main Event war recht gut mit interessanten Storyentwicklungen nach dem Match. Ebenfalls überzeugend war Taz' Promo, schön prägnant und auf den Punkt."
"I was very disappointed with the second half of this show and again it seems AEW cannot make the most important matches special. No need for match reviews here as somehow they are ALL on the recommended list, which is ridiculous. This was a below average Dynamite, but without the brilliant promos and story building that elevates the weekly product. Not one of these matches will be remembered even next week. Nowhere near the promised PPV standard show promised."

[8.0] "Ich wurde sehr gut unterhalten. Alle Matches waren mindestens gut, andere waren dann noch eine Stufe besser. Der ME oder das Frauen match waren zwei von diesen. Hier hatte man echt das Gefühl die Herausforderer schaffen es doch noch irgendwie. Den Turn von Page hebt man sich denke ich für ein Live Publikum auf. Penelope Ford überzeugt mich in- als auch außerhalb des Rings. Hat Sabian komplett in den Schatten entertaint. Mit Jack Hager hat man sich in eine Sackgasse gebooked. Klar, ein Roll Up Finish ist nicht ganz "so schlimm" wie ein Cleanes, mit einem Finisher beendetes Match, aber ich wüsste nicht wo man jetzt mit Ihm hin will. Nach zwei erfolglosen Titelkämpfen. Insgesamt ein sehr kurzweiliges Event mit genügend Matchzeit, tollen Workern und einer guten Stimmung."
[9.0] "This was a night where every match delivered and would be a good choice for anybody's match of the night. MJF started the night off hot with a promo, but then cost his team the victory. I feel like that was a good blowoff for that feud. Penelope Ford had her best match of her career against Shida. The kickout of the Falcon Arrow was legit shocking, great stuff. Similarly, Jake Hager had his best match in AEW for me against Cody, a well-worked match that had a great story and execution. Both Private Party and Ortiz & Santana needed a good match, since they seemed to somehow be forgotten in the stacked tag team division, and they worked well together. Santana is such a pro, he carried that whole match for me. I like how Hardy is being used, his different personas are a unique addition to the show and seeing this persona act as mentor to Private Party is a decent connection with upside. The main event, for all intents and purposes, delivered despite too high expectations. Best Friends were coming in superhot and in some circles were favored to dethrone the champions, but in the end Hangman pulled out another dominant performance to seal the victory. Really great booking, especially with FTR already lined up as next high-profile challengers. Somewhat sad for Best Friends though, they've never been this good and interesting to me. One word on the commentary team: four people may be a bit crowded, especially since Jericho is carrying something like 60% of all talking when he is in there. Worst member of the group for me is still Jim Ross, who at this point may still add credibility, but not much else. Excalibur is great at play-by-play and Tony is sensational in the charming role he is in, but Ross at times just feels at odds with some of the subtletees of the booking are the work by the performers."
[8.0] "Jericho on Commentary for most of the show earns at least half an extra point. Jurassic Express vs. MJF & Wardlow was a fun match with a lot of heat and a solid finish that protects MJF but still gives a win to the Jurassic Express side in this feud ***. Shida vs. Ford was a very good match with some good spots and in-ring story telling, it just started a little too slow ***1/2. Cody vs. Hager was probably Hager's best match in AEW (which isn't saying much) but it was still only slightly above average. It was quite a bit overbooked and also predictable **. Private Party vs. P&P was very spot heavy and Private Party going over didn't make much sense to me and Hardy being in their corner had relatively no influence on the match **. Page & Omega vs. Best Friends was a very good match where the finish was in doubt where everyone got their stuff in and it told a good story and the end with the pull apart brawl with Omega on the Bucks' side and Page on FTR's was great touch Page breaking up with Omega to join FTR makes a lot more sense than him going full heel and joining the Inner Circle or something like that that we were working with back in February when they started teasing this ***3/4."
[10.0] "My rule with shows is that if I am captivated through the whole thing and enjoy every match, I am fully willing to give it a ten, and that happened here. I had no real interest in Cody/Hager going into this, but it ended up being pretty enjoyable. Ford vs Shida was awesome and really helped make Penelope into a big deal. She was wonderful in there and Shida impressed, as always. Kip Sabian is also great in comedy spots. Private Party vs Santana/Ortiz was a lot of fun but I think they could have an even bigger match someday. The opening tag match was amazing and the MJF/Jungle Boy rivalry is so damn good. Wardlow looks like a bigger star every day. The Best Friends entrance was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. And the main event itself was awesome. At first I was disappointed that Best Friends didn't win, but the match was a banger and I want to save their title win for when there is a live audience. Great show overall and so excited for week two!"
[8.0] "Gute Ausgabe von Dynamite mit soliden bis guten Matches. Dennoch etwas enttäuschend, da das Ding ja mehr oder weniger als PPV im TV aufgebaut wurde. Dafür hat mir dann doch ein richtig starkes Match oder ein großes Segment gefehlt. Man hätte ruhig Tag 2 noch ein bisschen mehr aufbauen können, da ja nun der ME mit Moxley vs. Cage weg fällt. Vielleicht hatte ich aber auch einfach zu hohe Erwartungen an die Show ... 7, 5 / 10"

[7.0] "Wirklich zufriedenstellender Tag 1 des Fyter Fests. Alle Matches waren solide bis sehr gut und eigentlich gibts nichts gröberes daran auszusetzen. Schön auch zu sehen, dass dieses Special herausragt in dem man viele Palmen platziert hat und so auch für eine Abwechslung sorgt. Schon der Opener bietet wirklich gute Action & Szenen und ist für mich vielleicht sogar das MotN. Deutet sich hier ein langsamer Split von Wardlow & MJF an? Ich hoffe nicht da die 2 wirklich gut zusammenpassen. Auch Shida vs. Ford war angenehm anzusehen. Zwar ist Ford nicht die beste im Ring aber die Ringpsychologie hat mir gut gefallen.. vorallem gab es 2 sehr gute False Finishes. Cody vs. Hager war solide.. war nicht schlecht aber durch Hager's Doppeltätigkeit mit Pro-Wrestling & MMA lassen ihn doch recht eingeschränkt im Ring agieren. Verständlich, da er sich nicht für einen potenziellen Bellator-Kampf verletzen will aber wenn man weiß was er drauf hat und gerade bei AEW gibt es keine derartigen Moveset-Beschränkungen ist dies doch ein wenig schade. Der Sieg von Cody war glücklich aber ich glaube nicht, dass es hier noch weitergeht. Private Party vs. Proud N' Powerful war auch ein solides Tag Match. Und der Main Event war gut aber man bedenke, dass die Best Friends schon eine gefühlte Ewigkeit No. 1 Contender sind, hätte hier noch mehr Dramatik reingepasst. Ich glaube aber, dass diese No. 1 Geschichte der Corona-Situation geschuldet ist.. mit Fans und im normalen Betrieb hätte man hier schon eine gute Story entworfen die diesem Match geholfen hätte. Abseits vom Geschehen gabs nette Konfrontationen zwischen Janella & Archer; Cassidy & Y2J und am Ende eben FTR und Omega der ja kein Bier will und diese dann recht angepisst waren. Witzig zu sehen, dass Page da auch nicht gerade freundlich gegenüber Omega gestimmt war weil er den Alkolhol nicht angenommen hat. Und Taz shootet heftig gegen die WWE. Alles in allem gute 7 Punkte."
[6.0] "MJF lässt sich über Jungle Boys toten Vater aus, aber der wartet dann brav bis die Ringglocke losgeht. Gut erzogener junger Mann. Flüssige Action, die leider in einem nicht so dienlichen Anteil auf offensichtliche Kooperation ausgelegt ist, aber dennoch mal wieder klassischen PWG-Charme zu AEW bringt. Entbehrlicher Brawl zwischen Archer und Janela. Da kann Lance doch lieber ein, zwei Leute zerpflücken als sowas Lahmes. Ford hat sich den Spot durchaus verdient und kommt hier auch zu einer ordentlichen Leistung. Solides Match in Summe, manches ist auch hier zu konstruiert. Cody und Hager liefern sich eigentlich einen guten Kontrast zur bisherigen Action. Da hätte ich dieses Smoke & Mirrors-Ding auch nicht gebraucht. Es ist einfach überstrapaziert, aber das geht hier dennoch in Summe ganz gut durch. Auch das Aftermath sitzt und bringt immerhin etwas Facette rein. Feines Video für Darby Allin und auch der Part, der bei mir die höchste Einzelwertung bekommt. Zeigt gut seinen Charakter, ist gut produziert. Stark! Der Last Minute-Aufbau für Orange Cassidy und Jericho lässt mich dann doch eher kalt, da kann Jericho noch 10x next week brüllen. Kann das Feuer jedenfalls nicht weiter entfachen, freue mich aber dennoch auf die Paarung. EYFBO und Private Party legen die Regeln dann wieder etwas loser aus und kreieren damit natürlich flüssige Action, aber ist dann auch schnell verdaut. Zum Glück recht sauber, aber das Booking für Ortiz & Santana wird weiter zum Ärgernis, besonders, wenn man sieht, wer sich erfolgreich in der Tag-Division präsentieren kann. Taz Promo macht das okay im Kontext der Verschiebung und Hintergrundgeschichte. Passt. Das Main Event sortiert sich dann qualitativ im Schnitt der Show ein und macht das auch solide. So ohne Ausreißer ist es dann auch die Matchqualität, die hier die Punkte holt. Zwar ist in meinen Augen kein Banger dabei, aber auch kein Lowlight und alles pendelt sich am Ende des (**)er und am Anfang des (***)er-Bereiches ein."
[7.0] "Night One of Fyter Fest started out great but eventually ran out of steam. The opening tag bout was match of the night - every time MJF and Jungle Boy share a ring, it's magic, and they managed to craft a fast-paced but story-driven extravaganza of a match. Genuinely, this match was borderline perfection. Ford really rose to the occasion for her biggest match yet, and while her strikes aren't very convincing, she and Shida both looked like incredible contenders here, another very good match. The next two matches were pretty average, unfortunately, which brought the mood down a little. Cody-Hager was the better of the two, with an interesting (if unsmoothly executed) finish and some fun ringside interference, although there was a high number of repeated moves for a short match. Private Party vs The Inner Circle was absolutely fine but nothing memorable or special, which is a shame considering both teams' talents, and didn't ultimately feel like it belonged on this special event card. The tag title match underwhelmed too - it was still a good match, but both teams are definitely capable of better, and this was the weakest match Page & Omega have had for a while. The pacing felt off, with the opening seeming to stretch out for some time and the finishing sequence feeling somewhat rushed. It's worth noting that all of this show's little touches were sublime - Taz's promo was as excellent as usual, Jericho and OC's 'pull-apart brawl' was hilarious, and the Best Friends' special entrance was outstanding. Still good show overall, but a bit disappointing considering the strength of the first two matches in comparison to the rest."

[10.0] "Really enjoyed the show. For a night of TV, this was full of action while also establishing some future storylines. I especially look forwards towards the inevitable FTR vs Omega & Page match, which should be a banger and raise the stakes in the long-terms FTS v. Bucks feud."
[9.0] "A great show full of good to great matches. The opener was incredible and a ton of fun. The back half to the match was just insane. They all have tremendous chemistry with each other ****1/4. Shida vs Ford was also great and surprised me with how fun it was. Ford has improved a ton. While still rough at points, she out on a great performance here ***3/4. Cody vs Hager is almost tied for my MOTN and shocked me how great it was. The finish will turn people off, but otherwise this was a very nice moving match where they just brought it to each other. Hager's best performance in years ****. Private Party vs PnP was a good match to keep the show moving ***1/2. And then the main event was another great match. I think they have a better match in them, especially with an actual crowd to play off of, but this one was still really fun and a nice way to cap the show ***3/4"

[9.0] "Really enjoyed this show, the first two matches and the Taz promo were particularly great. The only match I didn't like that much was Cody/Hager, didn't think the ending worked at all, but I'll give credit to Cody for carrying Jake to a better match than the snoozefest he had with Mox awhile back. Not sure why Jake keeps getting pushed in singles though, he's just dull. But overall great stuff, I loved Jericho's commentary and the Orange Cassidy conflict."
[8.0] "One of the best televised wrestling shows of the year. Every match got good time, none of them went too long and they were all quality. As far as ratings go, I'd give the opening match a 3. 75 star rating, Shida vs Ford a 3. 5 star rating, the TNT match a 3. 25 star rating, the other tag match a 3 star rating and the main event a 3. 5 star rating. What makes this show so great, other than the fact that every match was good, is that there were no bad segments, some hilarious moments like the puppy battle royal announcement and the Best Friends entrance, and a great promo from Tazz as response to the Cage and Mox match being postponed. Jericho's commentary was great as well. The pacing was great and everything on the show mattered. This show was promoted as being a network special on tv, and it was booked even better than that. I'll give it an 8. 5, but a 9 isn't out of the question. If you enjoy the versatility of pro wrestling, then this show is for you. A cool, crisp, well-booked 2-hour wrestling show with no lowlights."
