[5.0] "A show that is worth slightly more than the average, especially because of the Handicap match which was in my opinion the weakest link of this show. And none of the other matches stood out in my opinion. 5, 2/10"

[5.0] "Fairly bad for a TV special. The only match on the card that surpassed the three star range was the main event. Even though Rhea vs Aliyah & Robbie E was fun it went a bit too long. Second best match was Oney vs. Thatcher at **3/4. Coould have been much better but Ranallo was unbearable in this one, always talking over Beth, and I don't even know if Tom was on the booth for this match, I don't even remember him talking once."

[5.0] "Mediocre show. Barely worth seeing. Lerae/Yim/Kai/Nox (**1/2) - Solid stuff, far from anything memorable. Dragged a bit by the end. Aliyah & Smith/Ripley (*1/2) - An alright comedy match but overall this was just nothing. Total waste of time and talent. Lumis/Strong (**3/4) - Another nothing special match. The strap stipulation didn't benefit them at all. Strong did put in some effort and made the match okay overall. Lorcan/Thatcher (***1/2) - They went out there and did their usual thing and it was awesome. Enjoyable stuff. Sasha/Shirai (***1/2) - Unsurprisingly the best match of the night but not as good as it could've been. This is a bit of a dream match and i feel like they could tear the house down giving it their 100%. Strong match."

[Candice LeRae vs Mia Yim vs Dakota Kai vs Tegan Nox] - 3 3/4 stars (Match of the Night). [Timothy Thatcher vs Oney Lorcan] - 3 1/2 stars. [Aliyah & Robert Stone vs Rhea Ripley] - 3 stars (Worst of the Night). [Roderick Strong vs Dexter Lumis] - 3 1/4 stars. [Io Shirai vs Sasha Banks] - Still on my watchlist DNR. Average Match rating 3. 38 of 5 (or 6. 76 of 10). Rounded to 7 for Cagematch."

[6.0] "While this was fairly solid, I fully expect Night 2 to top this one. The four way elimination was probably the highlight of the show for me. Sure, maybe a few sloppy bits but the action made up for it. Next two matches were fun for what they were, although I definitely enjoyed the latter more for the story and the sheer comedy of it. Lumis vs. Strong was OK at best, It was all story, but the action was rather dull. Surprised Lumis got the win, maybe it'll boost his stock up a bit. He was pretty good on the indies. Now, I wanted to enjoy the main event and it was probably everybody's favorite match, but I just couldn't get into it. It had little to invest in and the winner was clear from the start even if it was a non title match. This wasn't bad or average by any means, but there was little to look forward to."

"Something is odd here. 10 ratings that give 10 points. 0 ratings that give 9 points. 9 ratings that give 8 points. The NXT fanboys are destroying the algorythm by imputing 10's at the start (10 hours ago it had only 6 ratings of 10 points) and giving higher and unfair ratings to the show, yet, CAGEMATCH team does not care about this situation. If you check most of 10 point profiles, they give 10 and 9 all the time to NXT even thought the media rating is below 6. Clearly something has been wrong with CAGEMATCH for a long time, but admins don't seem to care about whats happening. UPDATE: Great to see the last rating update, it was neccesary. Props to CAGEMATCH team for hearing my concern."

[10.0] "This was a very good part 1 of the great american bash PPV, i'm not going to be botherd rating each match as this ppv was really good and everymatch was a ***** in my book, even Rhea's match was good because of the comedy element, the best match of the night was Dexter Lumis vs roddie strong, i'm going to say it again Dexter Lumis is the next Undertaker the staring and the the mistege is gives off just reminds me of early taker where no one could take him down in Survivor Series. I'm also very happy for Tegan was not expecting her too win the fatal fourway, i thought Dakota was going to win, Loved the ending of Io's match Sasha deserves getting wasabied (green mist) that was the best part of Night 1 can't wait for Night 2 of this free PPV thank you so much WWE for making this a free PPV."

[7.0] "After all that counter-programming talk, I thought I'd review both AEW and NXT these two weeks. Putting Dusty in the opening VTR ... anyway. [Fatal 4-Way] A bunch of moves, with no rhyme or reason behind them --- although, Nox did hit a sick bridging fallaway slam off a rope rebound, so there's that. Story told in ring was minimal, nobody did any character work to enliven the match. Felt overlong. I'd also like to point out the lunacy of placing 2 pic-in-pics within a 20-minute match. (***) [Thatcher/Lorcan] With both guys being two of my fave workers today, I expected to enjoy this match --- and I did. What I didn't expect, though, were idiots chanting 'USA' (despite Timo also being from the US) and 'Boring' (seems 'Die Matte ist nicht heilig' in NXT) --- how does one try so hard to ruin such a matchup? Whatever ... great match, loved it. A minor gripe: After working mostly on Lorcan's L arm, Timo applied the winning armbar on Lorcan's right instead --- rendering his prior work moot. (***3/4) [Ripley/Aliyah&Stone] A 10-minute glorified squash, with none of the 'comedy' spots landing for me --- I don't think this match was supposed to be taken seriously anyway. (**1/4) [Lumis/Strong] Oddly structured --- not exactly a wrestling match and unsatisfying as a brawl; the plodding pace made the match feel drawn-out. Anyway, s/o Roddy for selling his arse off; his character work also helped fill me in on the pair's ongoing storyline. (**3/4) [Shirai/Banks] Spot-heavy, but great as expected. Sasha had a couple of botches but more than made up for it with her tireless heel work. The finish, while underwhelming, should set up a sequel in the future. MOTN. (***3/4) An OK show --- although, I think AEW had a slight edge this week."

[7.0] "Pretty good show, first half was pretty underwhelming, opening 4 way was quite good. Thatcher/Lorcan was good with a great finish. Handicap match was fun enough, Lumis/Strong had a great strap match really well done and the main event was excellent as expected. Hoping we get some sort of tag match between the 4."

"Ratings for both NXT and AEW continue to be inflated by fanboys, it is getting ridiculous. If this continues when we look back in 2 or 3 years this no-fan Covid-era will be rated as the best run in the history of wrestling. What a shame people can't rate honestly and without bias, it isn't that difficult. Mods aren't helping by adding a silly amount of matches to the matchguide; Lumis vs Strong, really? Overall, this show was another very thin NXT effort and not worthy of carrying the Great American Bash name. The main event was a massive let down, brief glimpses of what could have been achieved, but nowhere near what could and should have been. Commentary this week was also terrible."

[7.0] "The opening elimination tag was very good. The same with Thatcher vs Lorcan which was the reason I watched this in the first place. The rest of it was not that good, the main event had a lot of hype and for me it didn't deliver. Fatal four way: ***1/2 Thatcher vs Lorcan: ***1/2 Handicap: *1/4 (just for the comedy) Lumis vs Strong: *3/4 Io Shirai vs Sasha Banks ***1/4"

[8.0] "The fatal four way was entertaining, Thatcher vs. Lorcan MOTN, the handicap match was unnecessary but unexpectedly funny, Lumis vs. Strong was good but kind of messy and little bit too long. Shirai vs Banks was fine Io is such a great performer and Sasha was a really good partner for her but, like the Charlotte case, Im kind of tired of the overexposure of Bayley. On the other hand, Asuka can do whatever she wants."

[6.0] "The two best matches of the night were the ones with less build up and history: Tatcher - Lorcan and the main event. I think the event suffered from the "big time event" branding and lackluster feuds, when your main event for what is supposed to be a PPV level show is created overnight on twitter there's a problem at the root. Still an enjoyable experience at times, if it was a normal NXT episode it probably would have lived up to the hype."

[9.0] "A first match which is a little bit slow, and I wasn't expecting Candice LeRae to be eliminated so fast, and that she doesn't win. The second one was really brutal, for absolutely no reason because there is no feud between them, but that's cool anyway. The handicap match was a perfect mix between comedy and real wrestling, and would have been even better with a crowd. Dexter Lumis put on a great performance and is put on the map with this big win. The main event was very good too, and just made me expect to see it in a PPV so they can tear the house down. Overall a good show for a weekly with almost no talk, only matches and which is put first so it's not overshadowed by the Keith Lee vs. Adam Cole of next week."

[8.0] "A very good show with an opener and a really solid main event and some very appreciable surprises, the other games without being memorable were good entertainment , nothing to throw away in this episode! Elimination Fatal Four Way : Dynamic and well built, Nox's victory is a surprise. 4/5 Thatcher vs Lorcan : Technical match and submission with two good brawlers, solid! 3, 25/5 Rhipley vs Aliyah et Stone : Comedy match with a few pieces of successful, entertaining wrestling. 2, 75/5 Lumis vs Strong : Significant victory for Lumis in order to build the character well, nice and well-built match. 3, 25/5 Shirai vs Banks : A good rhythm, well executed moves and an unexpected final, a good main event! 3, 75/5"

[8.0] "It's cool to see this show get love, and I thought it was good. The opener was a pretty good match, but had a somewhat sloppy start and some weirdly-timed eliminations. Ultimately a 3. 5 star match. Thatcher vs Lorcan was an old school mat based match, one that I felt was around 3. 25 stars or so. The handicap match was more of an angle than anything, and not the type of match that can be properly quantified with a star rating. From a work perspective, it gets a 2-star rating, but from an angle perspective it gets a solid B+. Lumis vs Strong was solid, but could've done with less time. Probably around 3 stars or so. The main event was great and left me wanting more. Easy 4 stars. Out of 10, I'd say this was a 7. 5 or 8. Not a perfect show like some of the ratings may make it seem, but still a quality show worth checking out, especially for the main event."

[8.0] "The main event was great, the opener was good. Other than that, I really dislike the storylines involving people that should be booked stronger, like Rhea and Roddy; Lumis does nothing for me and he is not polished enough to be in the same discussion as Kross, Grimes or Thatcher in terms of challengers."
