I liked the main event a great deal, Folks will credit Angle but I still think JBL doesn't miss in this era, great promos, great expressions, great punches, great bumps, great brawling, he carries the show more often than not and he was the shining star here. Other two matches were fine for what they were, Tough Enough is over thank god, Heidenreich is reading poems and making Michael Cole scurry away."
[7.0] "This was a much better episode after over a month worth of bad shows, mainly because the booking was on point throughout, the wrestling was good, and the opening promo segment between JBL and Angle was really good and set up the main event, where Angle was the face by default despite clearly being a heel still."
[7.0] "Far better effort this week after a long stretch of really bad Smackdown episodes. The show is still faltering with its mid card and the booking for the JBL vs Kurt Angle match is very predictable and lacks any creativity, but the match itself is fine and generally I thought the wrestling was solid on this show with a decent Eddie and Booker T tag team win. I enjoyed the JBL/Angle opening segment, Tough Enough was very short where they just announce Daniel Puder as the winner with no nonsense (even though The Miz ended up being the real winner) and the only really bad time wasting segment was showing John Cena's match at Armageddon, which wasn't even any good! It's a decent start to Smackdown's Road to Wrestlemania. Torrie also wears the hot Uncle Sam outfit on this show as well to promote her appearance on Tribute to the Troops."
[7.0] "Gute Ausgabe von SmackDown. Das Anfangssegment war in Ordnung. Man hätte es nicht für möglich geglaubt doch JBL verteidigte seinen Titel beim PPV dank Heidenreichs Hilfe der den Undertaker attackierte. JBL bezeichnet sich als größter WWE Champ Allerzeiten bis Angle hinzukommt und ein Titelmatch fordert. Teddy Long setzte das Match an. Der Opener war schlecht. Booker T und Eddie vs Kenzo und Dupree war in Ordnung. Ganz solides Match. Booker T und Eddie formen ein funktionierendes aber auch zusammengewürfeltes Team. Der Tough Enough Unsinn hat endlich ein Ende und Daniel Puder wird zum Sieger ernannt was schon vor einigen Wochen klar war. Zusätzlich zum Vertrag und dem Geld erhält er als erster einen Platz im Royal Rumble Match. Der Main-Event war in Ordnung. Normal wurden alle Lakaien von JBL und Angle vor dem Match rausgeworfen selbst Amy und Joy aber am Ende kamen alle Männer hinzu und Orlando sorgte für das DQ. Big Show räumte am Ende dann noch auf."
[5.0] "JBL gg. Angle ist ein interessantes Match. Daß Big Show sich einmischt und nun selber Jagd auf den WWE-Belt macht, ist nach dem PPV-Sieg nur logisch. Die Szenen mit Luther Reigns (zuerst mit Orlando Jordan später mit Kurt Angle) sind köstlich. Daß man einfach nochmal den >Armageddon<-Fight Cena gg. Jesus zeigt, ist irgendwie unverschämt (und einfallslos) - unverständlich.. Heidenreich-Gedicht ist ganz nett."
