[3.0] "Terrible PPV and this event would have been even worse than the infamous Great American Bash show had it not been for the excellent main event. The 4 Way Title match was an awesome hidden gem of a match which was just all action from start to finish and JBL, The Undertaker, Booker T and Eddie Guerrero are all great to watch. Other than that I thought the Tag Title opener was a lot better than expected and Funaki vs Spike was alright, but hurt badly by the crowd reactions. Also Kurt Angle beating up Santa is quite fun. The stretch between the opener and the main event is brutal viewing with very poor matches, time wasting segments and most of the show was like watching a really poor Smackdown episode. I'm glad I saw the main event as this is actually the first time I've ever watched this show and I highly recommend that one, but other than that this is a show to forget and completely mailed in."

[0.0] "RVD and Mysterio Vs Kemzo and Rene was solid, and the WWE World Title fatal four way was fantastic, but Funaki Vs Spike was weak and Puder Vs Mizanin Dixie Dog fight, Basham Bros Vs Hass and Holly, Cena Vs Jesus street fight, Marie Vs Jackie, and the three on one handicap were all absolutely terrible and easily the worst string of matches WWE has ever put on PPV. Overall WWE Armageddon (2004) is a terrible show with all the atrociously bad stuff outweighing the little good stuff on it."

[2.0] "This is very much a two-match show with the opening tag team bout between Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio vs. Rene Dupree & Kenzo Suzuiki being surprisingly good, along with a strong main event with a fatal-four way between Eddie Guerrero, Undertaker, Booker T & JBL for the WWE Championship. I feel a reason for the show being so weak is that 6 of Smackdown's strongest performers are featured in two matches alone. Also, the 3-on-1 handicap match between Big Show vs. Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak being much weaker than it ought to be. I always felt that Big Show and Kurt Angle never really clicked with each other in the ring, with the exception being their participation in a triple-threat match at Royal Rumble 2005. Smackdown in 2004 was a much weaker product than Raw, and this was easily their worst showing in 2004, even weaker than The Great American Bash!"

[1.0] "For me, this is the worst PPV made by WWE in 2004, with The Great American Bash. Everything that could go bad, it went worse and worse, unless the opener and the main event (expecially this one was truly splendid). I can't believe that in my country, Italy, there's such a big nostalghia of this period, which was one of the worst of the Ruthless Aggression Era. I can't believe that you can be really nostalgic of a period when SmackDown was so horrible. This PPV is an almost complete bullshit, the perfect anti-waiting room of the rubbish in Saudi Arabia in 2018-2019-2020. (1/10)"

[1.0] "If you have a really crap PPV, at least make sure the main event is satisfying and doesn't end in a finish guaranteed to annoy most people. Now I know it made sense to keep the title on JBL, and all of his matches were booked this way, but even taking away that this show had several worst match of the year contenders and was loaded to the brim with filler. I wouldn't even consider the opener good since when Dupree and Suzuki especially take over it slows to a crawl, 17 minutes on an opener that slow isn't a great start either. We then have a cluster of FIVE worst match of the year contenders. Funaki and Spike is interesting however if you're specifically looking for the quietest WWE crowd of all time, because this could indeed be it. The main event had its finish when I felt it was finally beginning to pick up the pace a bit, it wasn't a bad main event, but it wasn't as good as you'd expect and felt no different from one you'd see on Smackdown. This deserves to be up there with Great White North and KOTR 95, that may sound hyperbole, but those shows didn't feature Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam, John Cena and the main event quartet did they?"

I could not imagine paying $40 or $50 for this PPV. Even the main event was only just good, despite the talent involved. And so ends 2004, which might genuinely be WWE's worst year in terms of PPV ever. Starts off strong with the Royal Rumble and then pretty much never recovers."

[3.0] "It's not worth watching even for a very good main event. Before the Fatal 4 Way it didn't feel like a PPV at all and the crowd's disappointment was the most visible during Funaki vs Spike that was one of the most heatless matches I've ever seen. There's no point really talking about all other matches, because apart from the opener everything was bad or mid at best - simply forgettable. The Tough Enough part was way too long, there was too many divas' bullshit and no contest felt like a big deal. Like I said, the main event saved it show a little, because it actually had the big fight feeling partly due to a fantastic stuff with JBL before the bell, but that's the only saving grace of this fiasco."

[4.0] "Another bad event for Smackdown roster in 2004, but a bit better than Judgment Day and Great American Bash. The opening tag team match is okay, with Rey Mysterio and RVD able to do a good match, maybe it lasted too much. Puder vs Miz is DUD, Basham Brothers vs Haas & Holly is not even a one star match. John Cena vs Jesus is a Street Fight match where Cena destroys his rival for the whole fight, at least it works fine. After a non-match between divas, The Big Show vs Team Angle is not a great fight, but it helps the star power of Show. Funaki vs Spike Dudley is watchable, the main event has four great wrestlers, I can't give it more than ***1/2. The event is watchable, still not enjoyable for the most of the time."
