[5.0] "This was a bit of a rough episode. There's nothing awful here, but everything was pretty boring. Jimmy Havoc took on Brandon Cutler in a dull opening match based around Havoc's addiction to the staple gun. Shawn Spears then beat Sonny Kiss in a short match that still managed to be the best match of the night. Finally, Proud-N-Powerful beat the worst lineup of The Jurassic Express in an unexciting main event."
[4.0] "A decent, but not overly enjoyable episode of AEW Dark. This is not one you really need to hunt down, unless you're a freak like me who likes to watch as much wrestling as possible. My favourite match here was actually Shawn Spears vs Sonny Kiss; it was short but effective, and it was nice to see a more aggressive Spears. Nyla Rose was guest commentator here and it was great; honestly the most entertaining part of the show. I did not enjoy Jimmy Havoc vs Brandon Cutler; it was my least favourite part of the show."
[4.0] "A pretty decent episode, it probably would have been better if the Sonny Kiss vs Shawn Spears match would have lasted a little longer. But other than that, it was pretty decent, for a show with a below average rating."
[7.0] "Ich fand die Folge nach neuen Rewatch gut. Der Opener war richtig gut nach Neusichtung (***). Das Co Main Event war nur ansehnlich auch sehr kurz (**). Das Main Event fand ich auch gut und war mein Match of the Night (***1/4). AEW Dark #9, 7 Punkte."
[5.0] "Wohl die schwächste Show von Dark bisher. Mit Havoc werde ich einfach nicht warm. Da hätte ich Cutler hier eher den Sieg gewünscht damit er zumindest einen im Jahr 2019 hätte. Aber sei es drum. Das Aftermath dazu war logisch in der Story um Havoc, hilft mir mit ihm aber auch nicht weiter. Spears gegen Kiss war das was ich erwartet habe. Solides Wrestling ohne große High- oder Lowlights. Beide dümpeln ein wenig vor sich rum und zumindest bei Spears hoffe ich das er wieder mehr Storys bekommt. Der Main Event war dann ganz gut. 2-3 Minuten weniger wären aber auch ok gewesen. Stunt wird ja von vielen nicht gemocht aber hier ist er bei der Crowd sehr beliebt. PnP gehen aber auch nicht voll rein sondern spielen ein wenig mit den Gegnern. Sieg war natürlich klar und auch recht ungefährdet. Ab und an hat man halt auch mal so eine Show und in den nächsten Wochen wurde Dark ja auch wieder viel besser."
[2.0] "Schwache Show, bei der Nyla Rose am Mirko es in Teilen auch noch schlimmer macht. Viele generische oder unnötige Aussagen. Cutler hat im Prinzip keine Chance, bleibt aber trotzdem fast acht Minuten mit Jimmy im Ring. Das Aftermath im Backstage-Bereich ist okay und bringt Havoc fast mehr over als das Match. Mit Spears und Kiss hat man eigentlich zwei Charakte, die einen schönen Kontrast bieten könnten, aber das bleibt letztendlich aus. Man deutet es an, aber stellt Spears mal wieder nicht so dar, wie er es mal bräuchte, um sein dunkleres Chairman-Gimmick over zu bringen. Kiss hat so ein paar Momente, wo er Spears überrascht und sich ausleben darf, aber Spears Antworten sind schwach, wenn da nicht gerade mal eine Back Elbow sitzt. Dass er seine glutes flext, ist eben der falsche Weg. Mittelfinger helfen da schon eher. Immerhin ist es halbwegs schnell vorbei. Was man sich bei der Vignette vom Jurassic Express gedacht hat möchte ich lieber gar nicht wissen. Auch Match #3 hilft der Show nicht. EYFBOs Darstellung klappt eigentlich nur in den Segmenten, so können sie hier ihre Dominanz nicht wirklich ausspielen und daddeln so ein wenig vor sich hin. Braves Warten auf Cues etc. inklusive. Vergessenswert in Gänze, da auch das Abschlusssegment völlige Grütze ist und man einfach nicht schauen darf, wie Guevara Luchasaurus den Rücken massiert. Leute!"
[5.0] "One of the weaker editions of Dark, though not bad. Nyla Rose had a few funny lines on commentary but she probably won't be a regular contributor. The best match was PnP vs. Jurassic Express, but I'd much rather see Stunt at ringside instead of Luchasaurus."
[2.0] "Havoc/Cutler war sehr schlecht (¾*), das Match danach fast noch schlechter und die Vignette zu den Dino-Leuten absolut grauenhaft. Das letzte Match war ein unnötig langgezogener Squash (*½). Ganz schwache Episode. 1. 55; ganz knappe zwei Punkte."
[7.0] "Havoc showed doubters that he can wrestle and he did this while staying in character. Cutler was a good opponent for him to show his skills. Spears is just too "WWE" and does absolutely nothing interesting, there's nothing original about anything he does and lined up alongside these indy stars he is just plain dull. The tag match was worked well as the small men fought valiantly to inflict some damage on the savages. The fight at the end was superb and Marko's destroyer brilliant. The Jurassic Express vignette in the forest was genius, more please!"
[7.0] "Solid episode. Havoc/Cutler was alright, Cutler's best showing so far, Spears/Kiss was the weak link while PNP vs the Jurassic Express was decent, with a really nice suplex segment and another feud in the making with Luchasaurus and Swagger/Hagar."
[3.0] "Ich glaube, ich bin bei Dark dann halt auch raus wie bei NWA Powerrr - es passiert nix (mehr). Langeweilige Crowds, langweilige Matches, drei Squash Matches, eines davon ging 7 Minuten zu lange. Ich habe nix gegen Havoc oder auch Stunt, doch bei beiden Frage ich mich, was sie bei AEW beizutragen haben. Es fällt mir nichts auf, was die beiden irgendwie interessant für mich macht. Spears mag ich, der ist aber in einer Rolle, wo er nichts reiße kann. Kiss ist eigentlich 'ne unterhaltsame Nummer, aber auch der ist so ohne Story, ohne Background und ohne passende Gegner hart in der Luft. Jungle Boy wirkt für mich neben Stunt leider sehr blass."
[7.0] "A solid set of dark matches, with the standout being the main event and the brawl that followed. Personally I would have preferred one more match over all the Dynamite recap that we got, ideally a women's match. There was no Undesirable to Undeniable segment this week, which was disappointing; last week's profile of Shanna increased her popularity significantly, and there are a number of other wrestlers on the roster who could use the same treatment. Nyla Rose was fantastic on commentary, however. I'm really liking this trend of letting the more charismatic wrestlers show off their talking skills on commentary, since we don't get to see this side of these wrestlers very often with promos being as rare as they are."
