[5.0] "Maybe WWE's weakest attempt at counterprogramming and that's really saying something. Only two matches are really good and the main event is decent but nothing special. Sometimes it's ok to just let other things exist."

[6.0] "Crowd was invested, matches were average to good. Fun little show that didn't drag on too long. Don't expect a blow-away show but not a bad way to spend two hours. [Greene vs Briggs] - 3 stars. [Stallion vs Bravado vs Maluta vs Wolf] - 3 stars. [Henry vs Ruas] - 2 1/4 stars (Worst of the Night). [Brandi vs Shotzi Blacheart] - 3 1/4 stars. [Babatunde vs Colby Corino] - 2 3/4 stars. [The Unwanted vs The Skulk] - 3 3/4 stars (Match of the Night). [Gulak vs Riddle] - 3 3/4 stars. [JD Drake vs Austin Theory] - 3 1/2 stars. [Adam Cole vs Akira Tozawa] - 3 1/2 stars. Average match rating: 3. 19 of 5 stars (or 6. 38 of 10). Rounded to 6 for Cagematch."

[6.0] "This show was fine, but it didn't show me enough to become an Evolve fan or even look up more from their past library. The two best matches were the ones from NXT, which at the end of the day still felt kind of irrelevant because they were extremely predictable & just kind of exhibitions more than anything that fit a current story. Of the new talent that I was not already familiar with, no one from the Evolve roster really stood out. I think Babatunde has an impressive look, but I already was aware that he's already signed with NXT. All in all, if I want something on the level of Evolve, MLW seems like a more intriguing of a product currently."

[8.0] "A good entertaining show. Everyone gave it their all which showed. Match of the night would definitely be Gulak/Riddle. I loved seeing so many unfamiliar faces and now I am a fan of many who I will check out in the future (specifically Arturo Ruas, Shotzi Blackheart, JD Drake, and Josh Briggs). It was refreshing to watch a wrestling show that wasn't trying to compete with another company or try and sell us some shit. Just simple, straight to the point wrestling."

[9.0] "Renewed my network subscription and watching this as a stand-alone event. I know nothing of Evolve, so let's get to it. This was probably one of the best Anthony Greene matches I have watched to date. Match itself was good for an opener and that powerbomb finish from Josh Briggs was really cool. Four way match was a good sprint. I think all four men did good here. A good showcase match. Henry/Ruas was another solid match. Not much else to say. Lauren vs Shotzi could have been better, but it was good for what it was. I did like the dive onto the chairs... I enjoyed Babatunde vs Corino Jr a lot more than I should have. The tag title match didn't slow down. I thought the Unwanted looked great, but maybe I'm biased as a fan of Joe Gacy. The Skulk winning was really cool, and post match party was something. Great to see AR Fox doing well for himself. Haven't watched him since Lucha Underground. Drew Gulak and Matt Riddle had a wrestling clinic. This was highly competitive and one of the more pure wresting matches in recent memory. Loved every minute of it. The Paul Heyman promo was a really nice touch to the event. Austin Theory vs JD Drake was a good match. It felt important and it was. Action was well done and Drake looked good even in defeat. For a big guy, I was heavily impressed. Theory has character, which is a plus. The main event was a good one. I haven't watched modern WWE in a while so I've forgotten the great talent they have. Entertaining match to close off the evening, followed a good segment from Johnny Gargano. This was a highly enjoyable show for someone who isn't familiar with Evolve."

[7.0] "A good wrestling show where the last 3 matches delivered, with a suprising memorable gem from the women's title match. The biggest take away is setting up Anthony Brigs as the next Evolve title contender."

[6.0] "Briggs vs. Greene was a decent opener (***). The 4-Way wasn't as good as you'd probably expect considering the high-flying styles of all involved (**1/2). Ruas vs. Henry was pretty boring (**). Other than one single big spot, Brandi vs. Shotzi was pretty bad (**). Babatunde vs. Corino was good for being a squash match (**1/4). The show finally started to pick up after this. The tag title match was pretty good, although also pretty short (***1/4). Riddle vs. Gulak was pretty good as well, and probably a bit better than their match on NXT earlier this year (***1/2). Theory vs. Drake was really good. I'd never seen either guy wrestle before and they both impressed me (***3/4). Cole vs. Tozawa was really good as well, but not quite great (***3/4)."

[9.0] "The final three matches are MUST-SEE ! As they were all excellent, Riddle/Gulak, Theory/JD & Cole/Tozawa all at **** 1/4 for me. What made it so great is that all three were different matches. Gulak/Riddle was a scrapper heavy, strike & submission style match, Theory/JD was a great underdog story where you believed JD could really pull it off & Cole/Tozawa was a great exhibition showcase of two guys just laying out their best stuff."

[9.0] "At the show and it was a good time. Riddle vs Gulak was the stand out but every match had something to enjoy. I'm not huge on Theory but the title for title match was a great showcase for both him and Drake. And the surreal nature of seeing Eddie Kingston and Joe Gacy at a show on the WWE Network is really something else."
