[6.0] "Oh man I had pretty low expectations for this PPV, fully expecting to hate it really... but it definitely wasn't as bad as the star ratings make it seem. First off, RVD vs Jericho was definitely MOTN, which probably hurt the perspective here since it was the first match. Then Lesnar vs TEST, glad Lesnar won but ideally this match wouldn't have been booked. They really tried hard to make TEST seem like he could put up a fight here. He seemed to put up a better fight than anyone else Lesnar has fought, which is ridiculous because Lesnar has fought a lot good wrestlers so far, usually winning by some fuckery, but still he's had some decent opponents. And neither TEST or Lesnar are very good right now so the match was sloppy as fuck. Both guys seemed slow and like they were being given instructions literally every step of the way. What a joke. Bubba Ray would have been a better opponent and could have made Lesnar look good. But maybe not, as the ensuing RVD/Lesnar match just seemed like it had no payoff. It was the slowest I've ever seen RVD look, and I really can't blame that on anything but Lesnar just bringing him down. I'd rather have booked Lesnar losing to RVD in the semis and then RVD vs Jericho in the finals. Whatever though. I hope Brock increases his skillset and wrestling IQ before the title match next month. Flair vs Eddie was fun except for the weird boner that Flair had going on. Wonder what pills he took before the match. The woman's title match was pretty good. Trish and Molly are the two best female wrestlers they have right now and they both pulled a lot of cool moves you didn't typically see from women at the time. Trish brought it 100% and she continues to impress with how she's developing her skills. Angle vs Hogan was very entertaining and so was hurricane vs noble. I'm guessing the average low points on this site and from various "experts" have to due with the championship match being extremely boring, slow, and predictable, along with Lesnar being pushed despite not knowing how to wrestle. And for that, I get it. As a whole, the show will probably be disappointing to you. But, there are quite a few fun matches here which unfortunately will get buried historically because of these two last matches. One thing I thought was hilarious during the title match was earl hebner getting hit twice in a row in the corner. At first I wondered why he just stood there after the first hit, but then it made sense lol. It gave the match an opportunity for chaos, the Rock coming out and hitting HHH with a chair and undertaker with the rock bottom, etc. Good for the crowd that they got to see the Rock get involved in anything. This match went way too long because HHH loves moving slow as fuck and undertaker really has no choice in the matter. It also doesn't help that the crowd didn't really care who won despite the obvious heel/face matchup. Undertaker winning with a nut shot, rock comes out to people elbow his ass, HHH gets revived to pedigree Rock, then somehow Undertaker comes back to chokeslam HHH. Everyone gets their music played at the end. What a weird ending. Blame it on stone cold I guess. Overall, the two most important matches were duds and the show would probably be looked at a lot more favorably if they somehow deleted the last 45 minutes of the show from history."
[5.0] "Started out pretty good with the semi-finals of the tournament and a decent CW title match but then really dragged from that point forward, with a dreadful and long main event."
[8.0] "This is A good show, the main event is weak but the tournament itself is pretty fun. Specifically RVD and Jericho which is really enjoyable, Brock VS Test as well is pretty damn fun. Angle and Hogan is actually pretty decent, Brock and RVD is A good final too."
[5.0] "A pretty lackluster night all in all where the best match was on first and the main event was one of the worst things on the card. Angle/Hogan was probably the second bmatch of the night and was a real jolt of life to a crowd that was dead for most of the night. This night is centered around Brock Lesnar truly becoming the next big thing and that is done pretty well but I can have done with one of his match finishes without Heyman shenanigans. 3 star show at best."
[5.0] "I liked this show until the horrible main event happened and even though the tournament itself once again played the second fiddle it had some stakes attached to it. So the opener was the best match of the show with both Jericho and RVD delivering an exciting, fast-paced contest, Lesnar vs Test was a pleasant surprise and Noble vs Hurricane lacked the atmosphere, but in terms of the in ring work it was fantastic. Flair vs Guerrero went for a little too long, but I still liked it, Trish and Molly had a decent match, but unfortunately nobody in the crowd cared because of the horrible booking of the women's division, while Angle vs Hogan had incredible final minutes with the fans losing their minds. The KotR final disappointed me a little though as I was expecting a more exciting underdog story there, but at least Lesnar still looked like a menace and then the main event was horrible. Slow, boring slug with The Rock being the only interesting part, but even after his involvement they couldn't capitalize on it and went back to barely moving with the crowd barely caring at this point. So not an awful PPV, but the final two matches left a bad taste in my mouth."
[4.0] "Maybe watch the opening match, but the rest of the show goes from average to awful. There's a few entertaining points, but nothing to make up for the tedium and continual overbooking. It might have been slightly better at the time when the stories mattered, but not by much."
[4.0] "I didn't hate this show as much as everyone else, but yet again it is headlined with an awful main event for the third PPV running. It's definitely a lacklustre show, but RVD vs Jericho was a gem and I enjoyed Hogan vs Angle. Brock was also a good KOTR winner and the tournament itself was solid. I promise this isn't a reason for the low rating, but something that really annoyed me was Jerry Lawler's awful commentary as at this point he was so over the top he was honestly only a step below Michael Cole's infamous heel run in how bad he gets and the Molly Holly vs Trish Stratus match was borderline unwatchable despite the match being reasonably solid for the time and he's almost as bad with the Cruiserweight title match as well! On the whole the terrible main event hurt the show more than Backlash or Judgement Day of that year because those shows had great matches on the undercard, whereas this was mostly average."
[5.0] "Ich persönlich denke, dass die Show hier ein wenig zu schlecht wegkommt. Klar, das ist alles nichts aus der Feinschmeckerabteilung und auch die Motive der Show, nämlich der Lesnar-Push und die Wiedereingliederung Rockys, wirken überpräsent und vorgeschoben, aber ich kann auch beim besten Willen auf dieser Card keinen Stinker entdecken. Jedes Match besitzt ein Mindestmass an Unterhaltung, seien es nun die Turniermatches, die Hurras der alten Haudegen Flair & Hogan, die Damen, die Cruiserweights, ja sogar der in Grundzügen verhunzte Mainer hat seine Augenblicke. Diese Show ist keine Parade, aber immerhin ansehbar gearbeitet. Das würdige ich mit fünf Zählern."

[1.0] "Awful show, the opener is the only thing worth watching. No-energy, low effort and creatively barren. The crowd was dead all night, popping for entrances but then sitting on their hands. So many old guys being pushed. Flair is still finding his feet in WWE and put on a slow and disappointing match with Eddie Guerrero of all people. Hogan/Angle was OK I guess, seeing Hogan tap was a big surprise. The King of the Ring final could have been great but instead lasted all of five minutes. A horrendous Undertaker/HHH main event - plodding and overbooked, bookended a disaster of a PPV. No heat whatsoever. A real low point for WWE, no wonder this was the last KOTR for 13 years..."
[4.0] "Schlechter PPV. Der Opener war in Ordnung. Das ist schon das beste Match des PPVs. RVD und Jericho zeigen eine gute Leistung geht aber besser. Nach dem Match hielt RVD ein kurzes Interview wurde von seinem Gegner angegriffen. Test vs Lesnar war schlecht. Man sieht hier den Unterschied wer hier noch grün und erfahren war. Lesnar zeigte kaum gute offensive Aktionen. Hurricane vs Noble war in Ordnung. Schön das die Cruiserweights viel Zeit bekamen. Nidia lenkt oft ab und somit konnte ihr Freund sich den Titel sichern. Eddie vs Flair war schlecht. Man war das langweilig und es ging hier viel zulange. Die Divas waren schlecht. Nach der Demütigung welche sich Molly Holly bei RAW ergeben musste gewinnt sie den Titel. Hogan vs Angle war solide. Nicht so schlecht aber auch etwas enttäuschend. Kurz vor dem Leg Drop kontert Angle den Move in den Ankle Lock und Hogan gibt zum ersten Mal auf. RVD vs Lesnar war schlecht. Ein Witz das das Finale nur fünf Minuten kriegt. Es war klar das Lesnar der neue King of the Ring wird. Nun kann sich Lesnar auf Summerslam fokussieren weil er eine Chance auf den WWE Titel erhält. Der Main-Event war solide. Durchschnittlich mehr aber auch nicht. Es gab Teile wo das Match zu überzeugen musste aber es war auch teils ätzend. Heyman leistete den Kommentatoren im Main-Event Gesellschaft haut aber ab als The Rock auftaucht. Er mischte sich auch im Match ein aber zugunsten des Undertakers weil ausversehen ein Stuhlschlag auf Triple H ging. Er revanchierte sich jedoch und griff dann auch Undertaker an. Ein enttäuschender PPV."
[3.0] "Awful show. The opener is the only part worth watching. If you think about watching Eddie vs Flair because it's Eddie vs Flair, don't. It's dissapoting. Bad main event too. Zero energy for this show. Best To Worst: Rob Van Dam vs Chris Jericho - [***1/2]. Eddie Guerrero vs. Ric Flair - [**3/4]. Brock Lesnar vs Rob Van Dam - [**1/2]. Hulk Hogan vs. Kurt Angle - [**]. Brock Lesnar vs Test - [**]. The Undertaker vs Triple H - [*]. Molly Holly vs Trish Stratus - [*]. Hurricane vs Jamie Noble - [1/2*]."
[4.0] "Bis auf den guten Opener plätscherte der Event einfach so dahin ohne auch nur zu irgendeinem Zeitpunkt interessant zu sein. Vor allem der Main Event schläferte dann nochmal richtig rein. Da konnte selbst auch ein Paul Heyman als Kommentator nichts retten."
[7.0] "@test85. Meltzer hat Chris Jericho vs. Rob Van Dam bewertet. Er gab dem Match (***3/4). Ich fand den Opener nicht so stark. Passierte auch nichts besonders (***1/4) aber klar Match of the Night. Es war auch einige ansehliche Matches dabei aber nicht schlechtes. Der Main Event war aucht gut (***) aber die Fehde von 2002 war einfach nur schrecklich das ist kein Vergleich mit den anderen Fehden zwischen den beiden Legenden. Der letzte King Of The Ring PPV und ein für mich Guter. Leider gab es dann keinen weiteren King Of The Ring PPV ich würde mich sehr auf eine Rückkehr dieses PPV Konzept freuen, 7 Punkte."
[5.0] "1. Y2J & RVD liefern gleich zu Beginn des PPVs das MotN. Gehört in den Guide & warum es kein Ranking von Meltzer bekommt und sonst oft jeder andere Dreck weiß auch nur er. (4 1/4*) 2. Lesnar gegen Test ist dann schon schwächer. Sicherlich kein Totalausfall aber die Crowd wusste auch nicht wie sie auf beide reagieren sollte. (2*) 3. Noble gegen Hurricane gefiel mir nicht. Es war nicht schlecht, aber es machte auch nicht Klick bei mir. (2*) 4. Ähnliches kann ich über Flair gegen Guerrero sagen. (2 1/4*) 5. Auch bei den Diven gab es schon bessere Matches. (1 3/4*) 6. Hogan gegen Angle ließt sich auf den Papier gut, aufgrund der Namen, aber in der Ausführung stinkt das Match ab. (1 1/2*) 7. Das Finale ist dann leider viel zu kurz. (o. W. ) 8. Der Main Event ist dann zäh. Das Match hätte man um einige Minuten kürzen können und beim Finale dafür dazuzugeben. (2 1/4*) Der letzte offizielle KotR PPV war kein guter. Fast alle Matches blieben hinter dem Erhofften zurück."
[6.0] "Der Opener war richtig stark und ich bin sehr erstaunt warum er nicht Match Guide ist, da es für mich bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt das mit Abstand beste Match von RvD in der WWE war. Lesnar vs Test war auch in Ordnung wenn auch deutlich schwächer. Das Cruiserweight Match war solide und hatte ein spannendes Finish. Gehörte auch zu den besseren Matches am Abend. Guerrero gegen Flair hat mir nicht so richtig gefallen. Das Match war für das was geboten wurde viel zu lang. Das hätte man straffen können und das Finish war totaler Müll. Das Diven Match war für ihre Verhältnisse in Ordnung und hat nicht gestört. Hogan gegen Angle war das zweite Legende gegen Jungspund-Match des Abends und hat mir deutlich besser gefallen als das Erste. Das Hogan am Ende noch tappt fand ich super. Endlich versucht er mal einen jungen Wrestler over zu bringen. Bis hierhin hätte ich gute 7 Punkte gegeben. Aber warum man das Turnier-Finale in fünf Minuten abgehandelt hat kann ich nicht verstehen. Da hätte man bei den alten Männern (vorallem bei Flair) lieber ein bißchen Zeit weggenommen. Der Sieg von Lesnar war natürlich folgerichtig. Auch der Main Event war alles andere als ein Klassiker und Lichtjahre von dem entfernt was die Beiden Jahre später bei WM leisten sollten. Es war keine Dramatik im Match und das kein einziger Main Event ohne Eingriff auskommt, kotzt mich langsam an. Alle regen sich über TNA auf, aber die WWE hat in der Attitide Era nichts anderes gemacht und da fanden es alle super. Die beiden letzten Matches ziehen den Event definitiv um mindestens einen Punkt nach unten. Mit etwas Wohlwollen bleiben aber noch durchschnittliche 6 Punkte."

Das schwächste davon Hogan vs. Angle" bei dem ich ein etwas bessers Match erwartet hatte. Deshalb gibts die 4 von mir!"
[5.0] "Ich fand den Opener stark, aber viel was danach kommt eher enttäuschend, Flair vs. Guerrero ist viel zu lang, Angle vs. Hogan verspricht auf der Card mehr als es dann einhält, und Lesnar fertigt RVD in nur 5 Minuten ab, das war nichts, der Undisputed Championship war auch nicht das, was man sich erwünscht.. Die beiden können gegeneinander viel besser, 5 Punkte."
[2.0] "Nach dem ersten Match hat man eigentlich schon alles gesehen - wenn man nun bedenkt, dass Jericho gegen RVD nichtmals wirklich gut war, sagt dies alles über die Qualität des King of the Ring aus. Brock Lesnar war noch ziemlich grün hinter den Ohren, konnte aber wenigstens durch seine imposante Erscheinung punkten. Nachträglich konnte er den Push ja sogar rechtfertigen. Selbst Kurt Angle konnte Hogan zu keinem guten Match ziehen, der Main Event ist ebenfalls verdammt schwach und enttäuschte auf ganzer Linie. Guerrero gegen Flair war zumindest annehmbar, Noble gegen den Hurrican ebenfalls! Das rettet die Show aber nicht annährend sodass der King of the Ring als absolutes Desaster zu bezeichnen ist! Wenn man sich diese Show betrachtet ist es kein Wunder, dass man den PPV danach aus dem Programm genommen hat!"
[3.0] "Grausliger Event, der einzig von Jericho vs RVD sowie zum Teil Flair vs Guerrero gerettet werden konnte. Lesnar hatte keinen guten Tag (den hatte er bei WWE vor dem Summerslam 2002 NIE), Angle konnte Hogan nicht ziehen und Undertaker vs HHH grenzte an Körperverltzung."
[4.0] "Sehr guter Anfang mit RVD vs. Y2J, ein sehr gutes Match. Das war es dann leider auch schon. Sonst nur noch ein paar solide Matches mit Hurricane vs. Noble und Lesnar vs. RVD. Der Main Event war eine große Enttäuschung, einfach nur langweilig."
[4.0] "Main Event und Angle vs Hogan waren ganz gut, mehr aber nicht. Und bis auf Flair/Guerrero war alles andere wirklich auf ganzer Linie eine Enttäuschung!"
[2.0] "Ein grausiger Pay Per View, der vom ordentlichen Opener an immer schlechter wird. Angle gegen Hogan hatte einen gewissen Unterhaltungswert und den richtigen Sieger, während Flair gegen Guerrero einfach nicht klickte. Das Turnier war nur dazu gedacht, Lesnar over zu bekommen. Der Main Event steht heute noch im Raum als einer der langweiligsten PPV Main Events beider Stars, für die sich beide Wrestler eigentlich hätten öffentlich entschuldigen müssen. Triple H hat dies Jahre später sogar indirekt getan."
