[7.0] "I really enjoyed The Rock Vs. Hogan and Undertaker Vs. Flair, but everything else was a disappointment or just average. It's worth a watch if you haven't seen the Rock/Hogan match, but don't go out of your way to see this show."
[6.0] "It was alright. Not good by WrestleMania standards but good parts were good enough for this to get decent rating. This show suffered from weak, random and uninspired buildups for individual matches and most of matches feeling like prelim bouts for something better. Opener was decent, Regal limited RVD a lot due to styles clash but it was decently worked and they did their best. ***1/4 Same rating for next match, I thought it was fun little match and it was harmless for the spot it had on the card (this should've been DDP vs Angle but regardless.) Not DDP in his prime but he was fine. Hardcore title match was shits. Just shitty garbage hardcore match that Spike ended before it started stinking. Dustin could've carried him to something better. DUD Kurt/Kane was fine, but it had a rotten finish and Kurt was REALLY working hard to carry Kane here. Pros and cons of having no storyline. Not one of Kane's best performances. *** I loved Taker/Flair match so much man. It felt like old school territory fight where older, smaller babyface fights an uphill battle to get even against scary big heel. One thing that drags this match down is that Flair sold TOO MUCH for Taker and that It was a bit too long but still. Crowd was red hot for Ric. He was still a bit rusty but ultimately did really well. Arn's involvement is legendary. When Ric starts fighting back you get that feeling of hope that is rarely truly felt in wrestling. Crowd losing their minds for Tombstone, realising that Ric is done is such a memorable finish. ****1/4 Edge/Booker was meh. Stupid story and unispiring match. Pre show material, perfectly average match. **1/2 Austin/Hall was a fun little overbooked mess. It was chaotic but honestly if you don't have high expectations you aren't going to be dissapointed. It was boring here and fun there so watch it for legendary Stunners if nothing else. *** Tag team match was a bathroom break and again, perfectly average match without anything special. Jeff Hardy/Stacy interaction was highlight. **1/2 Rock/Hogan was spectacular. Type of stuff that leaves you emotionally drained. Insane crowd control. Hogan showed that he wasn't completely washed after years of stinkers in WCW. Everything after ref bump should be in Hall of Fame. Not a mat classic, but a classic in everything else. ****1/2 Triple threat sucked. Trish was not in her element. Lita was doing things and Jazz was trying to wrestle. One more on Vince's scoreboard when it comes about hometown wrestlers losing. *3/4 Main event is overhated in my opinion. Crowd was drained, but not dead and they reacted well enough for moments designed for big reactions. They wrestled wrong type of match for the occasion but it doesn't mean it wasn't good. This is a pretty great match in any other setting or moment. Finish ruled. 2 facts: Hogan/Rock should've mainevented and Stephanie shouldn't have been anywhere around this story. Simple enough. Funnily enough they gave up on working the leg story because they noticed the unsatisfactory reaction so they just went for big spots. ***3/4 Hogan/Rock and Flair/Taker are must see matches"
[2.0] "A two match show. The rest was abysmal and anticlimactic. The worst of it being Jericho vs. Triple H with the former acting as Stephanie's proxy. It was awful. The match was boring and the storyline sucked."
[5.0] "An underwhelming Wrestlemania from a company in transition. Many matches disappointed, lacking stakes and story. The crowd felt flat and quiet through most of the show. This is of course, excluding The Rock vs Hogan, which is the reason to watch this PPV. The crowd was wild for this all time classic which absolutely lived up to it's billing. Overall, a big drop in quality compared to 17 and 19, a largely forgettable event."

For a WrestleMania that's just far too many, factor in the incredibly underwhelming feel of the main event and Hogan/Rock not doing as much for me as anyone else due to my total apathy around Hogan and this was an incredibly poor follow up to WrestleMania x7. Honestly only 2, maybe 3 matches worth watching and one is only for the atmosphere. Felt like a lot of guys were really wasted on this show particularly the likes of Edge, Christian, Booker T and Kurt Angle. Bad show that's aged even worse given the damage to Hogan's reputation before his death."
[6.0] "On paper, this is a super strong line-up with some of the biggest names in history and should be one of the stronger Manias. What we get instead is a disappointing sow how the talent/matches involved. The highlights were Hogan/Rock, which lives up to the hype, and Flair/Taker, an underrated gem in Taker's streak. Those two matches help save this Mania from being one of the worst, along with the fun stuff with the Hardcore division and the talent on show here. If only the 'main event' was a good overall match this show would come across a really good Mania, but it really annoyed me with the storyline and HHH's ego not allowing the dream match headline the show. Overall, it's a fun show and a nice look back at the dying days of the attitude era."
[5.0] "Wrestlemania X8 can rest assuredly in that it is home to one of the best matches in Mania history. The Rock and Hollywood Hogan's clash is a one-of-a-kind beast that is entirely by a raucous crowd and two megastars who know just how to work that crowd. It is an incredible match and spectacle, and it largely saves this from being a pretty average show. The only other match I am a big fan of is Taker & Flair's bloody and intense brawl which features one of the best spinebusters in history. The rest of the show though is pretty subpar. The main event between HHH & Y2J is a fine match, but it couldn't dare to have even a 1/10th of the heat Rock/Hogan had. Several of their big names such as Austin and Angle are left with nothing matches and potentially great matches such as RVD/Regal & Booker T/Edge are too short to really get going. Coming a year after the best Wrestlemania of all time, Wrestlemania X8 can't compete, but it does have its moments that rival even the best of X7."

[7.0] "The final WWF Wrestlemania is an incredible one. Wrestlemania 18 seems to get passed over a lot because it didn't quite live up to Wrestlemania 17, but 17 was the greatest PPV in the history of the company, so it isn't a fair comparison. There isn't a bad match on this show. Ironically enough, I might just consider the main event the worst match, and even that isn't a bad match. Taker/Flair is match of the night for me, and of course Hogan/Rock is legendary. RVD and Regal also have an amazingly put together contest for the time they were given. And time is the issue with Wrestlemania 18. They didn't have enough of it. They had SO many matches on this card because so many people deserved to be on it. Angle/Kane and Edge/Booker didn't exactly have a good feud going into this event, but how could you cut those four from Wrestlemania? It wouldn't have been right. But due to lack of time, many, many matches got a very short amount of time, which makes the show suffer some. Still, one of the best Wrestlemania's in history. I'd say this is a slightly underrated show."
[8.0] "WrestleMania X8 is full of "what ifs". What if we got Austin/Hogan? What if WWF brought in more WCW guys like Sting and Goldberg? What if Hogan/Rock went on last? This card had the potential to be something really, really special. Ultimately, it turned out to be quite disappointing, with Rock/Hogan & Taker/Flair being the only two matches worth going out of your way to watch. I will say, RVD/Regal starts the show off pretty good, but it just slowly gets worse until the two matches I mentioned. The matches weren't bad, far from it really, but it just lacked that big WrestleMania feel about them. DDP/Christian, Edge/Booker T, Angle/Kane, I wouldn't necessarily call them WrestleMania quality matches. It just lacked that extra mile folks seem to go on a WrestleMania card. Flair/Taker is a really good watch, Arn Anderson making a surprise appearance and hitting a spinebuster on Taker is still a classic moment. Rock/Hogan was brilliant and showed what WrestleMania is all about. Two icons of their generations and both beloved by fans. It's a typical "sports entertainment" match, which works really well and is widely considered one of the best matches to show people who haven't watched wrestling before. The showmanship, the crowd, everything was perfectly captured in this one match. Rock going over Hogan was the right decision too, despite the crowd absolutely losing their mind for Hogan. HHH/Jericho as the main event is always a baffling decision, they just weren't (and still aren't) on the same level as Hogan & Rock. The crowd was pretty much done at this point, they had just witnessed something truly special, with a lacklustre women's match thrown in after it, and now they've got to watch Jericho & HHH for the WWF Title. I feel like had the matches been swapped around, with Hogan/Rock as the main event, then HHH/Jericho would've been a much better match and remembered for better reasons. It just wasn't a WrestleMania quality main event, and to be honest, the card wasn't WrestleMania quality aside from two matches. They came off a truly special WMX7 card and the only way was up, but they seem to go down with this card. Lots of missed potential with WMX8. Go out of your way to watch Taker/Flair & Hogan/Rock, all the other stuff is a skip. Was torn between giving this a 7 or 8, ended up going with 8 simply because of Hogan/Rock."
[8.0] "Show didn't repeat a success of previous edition mainly because of disappointing main event, however it wasn't that far from it as most of the people tries to tell. Decent opener and Angle vs. Kane, great Taker vs. Flair and legendary Hogan vs. Rock is enough to recognize it as a top-tier event."
[5.0] "This show is mostly disappointing, but Rock/Hogan is a must watch match. How the crowd is 100% on Rocky's side during the intros, but quickly switches over to Hogan within the first couple of minutes. Man, Hogan sure knows how to work the crowd and honestly, the rock looked very perplexed and unsure of how to do the same. Weird moment for sure. I thought WM17 was bad for the Rock, as both Austin and he was a Face at the time, but the crowd was like 90% behind stone cold and booing the rock. At 17, I understood it because they were in texas.. This made sense.. But here? Nah man this shit is crazy. Hogan spent the last month being the ultimate heel, and he STILL IS one here, but the Rock is quickly realizing why Hogan is the fuckin man. And within 2 minutes, the crowd is chanting "ROCKY SUCKS". Fuckkkk. The quality of the wrestling is what you'd expect from both of these guys, but the acting, selling, working the crowd, it's top notch. It sure isn't a classic by any means, but it's the MOTN for sure and worth the watch just for the spectacle. I still think the WWF fucked up by not making this the final match of the night. I remember watching this live back in 2002 and thinking the same thing. After the match ends, there's an interesting sequence where Hall and Nash come out and beat Hogan's ass for losing. I think this was planned as a way to turn Hogan into a face. And I wonder if they could have just said fuck it and not go through with that part since Hogan was clearly a face during this match. Anyway... For the other matches, big disappointment. Austin vs Hall/Nash was basically a squash match until the last minute when Austin turned it around. It was boring. The RVD/Regal match was good for Raw or Smackdown but not PPV quality. Same with Edge/Booker and DDP/Christian. Angle/Kane should have been cut from this show. There really wasn't a feud there so it's like just make them fight each other? Taker/Flair was also boring to me. The 4 corner tag match was actually pretty good. Billy took an amazing clothesline from Bradshaw where he flipped over like 10 times, and there were a few nice spots during this match. This is probably my 2nd favorite match of the night. Goldust/Maven was garbage, as well as the other 24/7 pins that took place on camera. I love molly but what was the point of getting her involved in this? The woman's match was also garbage. Triple threat between Jazz, Trish, and Lita for the belt, but Molly has the hardcore title? lol ok whatever. Lita made sure that her entrance is longer than the match itself by dancing every 5 feet on the ramp. ok. HHH/Jericho was good but it suffered from the crowd being relatively uninvested in caring who wins, relative to the Rock/Hogan match where emotions were all over the place the entire time. Best part was steph finally getting the pedigree that HHH has been teasing the past few weeks, but even that didn't have the crowd reaction that the other almost-pedigrees had. This match went way too slow for me and HHH deserved better than this. They didn't build this up enough and I don't think there was a single person in the crowd who thought Y2J had a chance to win this. I feel the same way now as I did back in 2002, which is, I don't care about this because I knew HHH would win and the Hogan/Rock match was just that much better and emotionally exhausting. Sorry WWF you fucked up."
[6.0] "This is a very long card with about 2-3 matches really worth watching. Old wrestlemania's really had a problem with having a million matches and most of them just being meh at best. 6/10"

The undercard offers a mixed affair as matches vary from average to good at a point where it makes you wonder if they sould've even been on a card. Some of them could've been cut, giving much needed time to the rest. Apart from that, the bigger matches showcase the company's stacked main event talent in the best possible way, delivering each time. Commentary by JR and Lawler is very good and entertaining, while the Hardcore Championship chase serves as a nice comedic breather all throughout the show. MOTN goes to Hogan vs. Rock."

Then a boring, really bad Women's three way match, and a main event that wasn't bad, but certainly disappointing."
[7.0] "If only the main event delivered and the crowd wasn't so worn out by then the whole show would have been remembered more fondly by me, but it was still a very good WrestleMania. The only stinkers were the Tag Team Titles match and the women's match, plus Hardcore Title bollocks wasn't interesting to me, but everything else was at least watchable. The opener was great with Regal getting the best out of RVD's eye-catching moveset, DDP vs Christian was alright and Angle vs Kane was a very good, entertaining bout with both guys throwing each other around. Taker vs Flair was fantastic with Deadman finally being interesting once again and Ric playing nicely into his veteran role, Edge vs Booker was short but still decent and Austin vs Hall was better than I expected, especially when it came to Scott's work. And then Rock vs Hogan was absolutely phenomenal with one of the biggest crowd reactions I have ever heard. Both guys didn't rush anything, were focusing on the fans and it was just a fantastic spectacle. Unfortunately though it had to be followed by Jericho vs Triple H which had an obviously worn out crowd by that point and it really damaged the whole contest. They tried, but there wasn't much they could do. So overall a very good WrestleMania, where all of the older stars were used perfectly."
[3.0] "After last wrestlemania this is a massive step down. Barely any hype or interest in any match but Hogan vs Rock and somehow that did not main event. It just did not feel like wrestlemania at all, except for the icon vs icon, everything felt like a secondary show."

[6.0] "I find it a shame I'm rating this show so low because I really want to like WrestleMania X8, it's just very undercooked. Rock/Hogan is one of the best "crowd matches" of all time and is a must watch for any wrestling fan all because of the spectacle and how a hot crowd can make any match feel magical. Taker/Flair was really great, I loved their feud and the match more than delivered, I would say it's a hidden gem because Ive never really heard it being discussed but a compilation video of the build has 3 million views on YouTube so it must have some fans lol. I also loved the storyline of the hardcore title changing hands constantly, very entertaining and really the final hurrah for the hardcore title before being retired later in the year. Most of the undercard matches was just too short though, I'm sure RVD/Regal and Kane/Angle would've been classics if they were given time to cook. Hall/Austin was also sports entertaining too. It also has one of the most forgettable pre 2010s Mania main events ever, I honestly cant name one spot from this match. The feud was also just between Steph and Triple H, with Jericho, you know THE FIRST EVER UNDISPUTED CHAMPION being a total non-factor. They most have known that this build sucked because they didnt even have a video package before the main event, which is unacceptable considering we got My Way the year before. Also, what was up with the stage? What was the creative vision with all the scaffolding? Ludicrous. All in all, a mid show which just so happens to have a historically significant match wedged in there and also is stuck between the two best Manias of all time. Sorry WrestleMania X8, you didnt really have a chance with me. I think a 6/10 is very generous."

[8.0] "I still enjoy this show a lot, even though it's a few steps below the previous Wrestlemania. Unfortunately the wrong match main evented the show and the Y2J vs Triple H match fell flat even though it's an okay match. Still Rock v Hogan is one of my favourite Mania matches and moments ever and it still holds up very well even today. The rest of the card is pretty decent but mostly unremarkable. Undertaker v Flair as also a really fun match which was also considerably better than the main event for me. Kane vs Angle was a good clash of styles with Angle seriously at the top of his game at that time. Austin v Hall was more entertaining than I thought it would be as well. Most of the undercard matches was good, but mostly felt too short. The crowd really made this show special for me, particularly in the Rock vs Hogan as it just became something truly iconic."

A lot of people genuinely love the Hogan/Rock match, which might affect the ratings, but even with that there was nothing else that stood out. Pretty much bang average, which isn't good enough for Mania, and it dragged."

To start off with the good things Rock/Hogan is awesome, classic Mania moment and dfinetely worth a watch. Besides that Undertaker/Flair, Kane/Angle and Regal/RVD are enjoyable as well, even if for one reason or another none of them are outstanding. The only match that I would really call bad is the hardcore title one, which is more of an excuse to kick off the backstage segments than a real bout. The rest of the card is just mediocre. If HHH/Jericho was a bit more fun this could be bumped up to a 6 or 7, but the Main Event wasn't a highlight it was just a match that happened. Better than a lot of Manias that came before, but dissapointing specially when X7 was so good"

At the time it was chastised for its inclusion of WCW wrestlers but a lot of these matches hold up two decades later It feels like the middle brother that gets forgotten because it's between arguably the two best Manias ever. A worthwhile rematch."
[5.0] "I'd like to go higher on this because this is a period of WWF I'm fond of and it's not an awful watch or anything, but it's sadly a mediocre show that's almost brought down a point by a really dull main. Low points are the four-way for the tag titles being weirdly boring since it doesn't look bad on paper, and the women's title is put in the death spot with Lawler's leering commentary doing it no favours. Edge and Booker T, two guys I like but a nothing match. Austin is in a headscratcher of a match for his status. Main event is infamous for being doomed from the start with a dead crowd but don't feel too sorry for it, it's mostly a chore anyway. The positives: RVD/Regal and DDP/Christian are quite good, funny Hardcore title gags throughout the show, Angle/Kane exceeded expectations, and of course Hogan/Rock was a big success for what it was going for and feels more than 'Mania worthy. My MOTN was Undertaker/Flair, it was a little long and slow but really put over 'Taker as a big evil bastard. And who doesn't love that Arn spinebuster?"

The total drop in "oh this is fucking badass" was gigantic with the pretty bad live performances, lack of variety in the matches and only 1 real big match in Hogan/Rock. The women got done dirty with their card placement, the main was such a slog, the tag title match was a massive step down from TLC II and even the ladder match at Mania 2000 and guys like Stone Cold and Angle were put in less than favourable spots. As for positives, Angle/Kane delivered, RVD/Regal was good, Rock/Hogan had a fantastic atmosphere, Taker had his best Mania match to date and the Hardcore title bits were fun. That main event really left a bad taste though."

[8.0] "This is my guilty pleasure WrestleMania. It's pretty much WrestleMania 17's lamer younger brother and you have to spend time with it, but it can still be a very fun experience watching the show. Most of the matches are under 10 minutes, and most are pretty decent. But it has a fun opener, the Hardcore Title 24/7 Madness, Undertaker vs. Ric Flair which helped Flair find his former self. As well as Triple H and Chris Jericho being one of the better Main Events. But let's face it The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan pretty much makes this show have an iconic feel to it. Which is basically the equivalent of spending time with your friend's younger brother, and then his hot sister walks into the room and you get to spend 30 minutes ogling at her. Granted the stuff surrounding it isn't spellbinding, but that match just makes this have a special feeling. Granted I find it to be the weakest out of the WrestleMania Golden Era (WM 17 to WM 24), but I would say it's a Top 10 WrestleMania."

I actually like the Drowning Pool cover of The Game, but Mania Live performances are usually pretty shaky and tonight was no exception. Your opinion of this show is going to be dependent on how you feel about Rock vs Hogan, and I think that match is just okay. The crowd being pro Hogan was cool and I thought it told a cool story, but it just wasn't for me I suppose. Everything else is forgettable, boring or bad. Oh except for Taker and Flair, that match was also okay. Thumbs down :/"

A weak undercard, the best of which was a pretty good Undertaker vs Ric Flair match, where Flair still hadn't quite found his feet in WWE. The less said about that Scott Hall vs Stone Cold match the better... A weak 'Mania and a heartbreaking fall from glory after X-Seven. At least next year is a return to form."

The opener between RVD and William Regal had some nice spots and RVD winning the IC title was a good moment (***) DDP and Christian felt like a TV match but, it wasn't terrible. (**) The Hardcore Championship match was short and didn't have anything special outside of the multiple title changes throughout the night (*) Kurt Angle and Kane had a fun match with some good spots and decent paced action (***) Undertaker and Ric Flair had a good match that had Flair do incredible selling wish it would've gone a little longer. (***) Edge and Booker T felt like another TV match but, it was average. (**) Steve Austin vs Scott Hall was boring with Scott running away most of the time but, his selling of the Stunner was hilarious. (*1/4) The tag team match was really good with the Dudley Boyz and Hardy Boyz carrying most of the match. (***1/3) The Rock vs Hollywood Hogan was MOTN and at the time was mindblowing to see two icons in wrestling finally competing against each other. (****) The women's triple threat was forgettable. (*1/2) The main event wasn't good with lots of stalling and Jericho getting most of the offense. (**3/4)"
[7.0] "Great opener to start the show, there are some very interesting matches. The Undertaker vs Ric Flair is good and bloody. The Rock vs Hollywood Hogan is the most important match, with a big focus on turning Hogan face in front of many fans. Chris Jericho vs Triple H is a classic, with two of the best wrestlers. I also liked Kane vs Kurt Angle. Disappointing roles for Steve Austin, the Dudley Boyz and the Hardys, which deserved more than what they got. It's a nice Wrestlemania with a fantastic roster."
[4.0] "Erneut wieder ein PPV, wo ich die doch recht guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen kann. RVD/Regal okay als Opener, aber viel zu kurz(**). Page/Christian kann ich mich an nix erinnern(*). Maven/Goldust ist auch nichts und interessierte mich auch nicht. Angle/Kane zwei größere Namen die aber hier kein gutes Match zustande bringen können. Taker gegen Flair war super als Brawl und rohen Kampf zwischen zwei Stars(***3/4). Edge/Booker ist ein Witz warum die da ein Match haben und es war auch nicht gut. Austin/Hall ist auch nicht besonders, kann man aber als ein Mini-Dreammatch ansehen(**). Tag Team Titles Match war wrestlerisch okay(**1/4). Rock/Hogan ist wohl der größte Grund, warum man diese Mania im Kopf hat. Ein Match, was sich jeder Wrestlingfan anschauen sollte. Womes Match gefiel mir auch nicht. Der Main-Event ist ebenfalls eine Enttäuschung, aber kein totaler Reinfall(**1/4)."
[4.0] "Regal put on a fun opener on the second consecutive Mania, this time with RVD (***), Christian/DDP was not bad, but the crowd barely cared for the match at all (**), Goldust/Maven was there (*), Angle/Kane was okay (**1/4), Taker/Flair delivered a fun brawl that succeeded mostly from Flair's usually great bumping and blading (***1/4), Edge won the shampoo (*), Hall's bumping for Austin's stunner was fun, but the match itself wasn't (*), 4-way tag was a random TV tag team match (**), the battle between Hogan/The Rock felt like a clash of the titans and had a magic atmospher (***3/4), Jazz/Lita/Trish (*), Jericho/HHH main event not only was in a dead spot after Hogan/The Rock, but had absolutely no sense of urgency and motivation from both competitors; Just a dead match (*). Pretty meh Mania overall. The opener, Taker/Flair and Hogan/The Rock are the only matches that worth watching. The rest of the card sucked even on paper."

It's right smack dab in the middle of that period of Flair's career where he seemed lost. The hardcore title hijinks are a fun time killer. The Rock vs. Hogan is maybe the best example for how a hot crowd can make a match. I love both boys but there is no way in hell that HHH/Y2J should've gone on last. The crowd didn't care and neither do I. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the show features the best crowd sign in a sport that has inspired millions of them: THEY ARE FIGHTING OVER SHAMPOO."

[6.0] "Wrestlemania 18 geht zwischen den beiden besten Manias sehr unter, ist aber dennoch eine solide Show. Zunächst werden schnell die drei Midcard Title abarbeitet, was teilweise unter den Möglichkeiten geschieht und die Show vielleicht um ein Highlight gebracht hat. So sind alle Matches sehr kurz, obwohl gerade RVD vs William Regal und Christian vs DDP sehr starke Ansetzungen sind. Kurt Angle vs Kane danach geht da schon länger und ist nicht schlecht und Angle schafft es sogar Kane zu besiegen. Danach trifft der Undertaker auf Ric Flair und kann im Rahmen seiner Streak eine wahre Legende besiegen in einem Match, dass sicherlich nicht das stärkste ist, aber dennoch sehenswert ist und Respekt auch an Flair, der hier nochmal einiges zeigt. Edge besiegt danach recht unbedeutend Booker T. Danach bekommt es Steve Austin mit einem Member der nWo, nämlich Scott Hall zu tun. Die Idee ist eigentlich sehr gut die beiden Topfaces der WWE gegen die nWo antreten zu lassen, vor allem weil sie dadurch in diesem Jahr keinen Main Event Spot weggenommen haben. Das Match ist okay und es greift danna auch Diesel ein und dennoch gewinnt Austin. Das Tag Team Titlematch danach ist auch okay, aber nichts besonderes. Am Ende verteidigen Billy und Chuck den Titel. Vermutlich das MOTN ist danach The Rock vs Hulk Hogan. EIn starkes Match gerade daher, weil beide einen so ähnlichen Stil haben. Beide sind wahrlich nicht die besten im Ring, haben aber starke Charaktere und sind genial am Mic und schaffen es auch immer Matches groß wirken zu lassen. Am Ende gewinnt The Rock und die Outsider turnen gegen Hogan, The Rock macht jedoch den Safe und beide feiern gemeinsam. Im Co ME dann das Women's Titlematch, das okay ist und überraschenderweise verteidigt Jazz hier ihren Titel. Und im ME stehen dann Triple H und Chris Jericho. Schön, dass Jericho mal einen ME bekommen hat, jedoch ist das Match nicht so stark, vor allem, da Jericho hier den Heel spielen muss und daher wenig das Match führen kann."

[7.0] "Der Opener und auch das European Title Match sind beide nach einer sehr ähnlichen Formel gestrickt: Nicht besonders lang, anständig für das was es ist und mit den richtigen Siegern, um gleich mal die Crowd in das Event rein zu bekommen, ganz besonders gilt das für den Titelgewinn von RVD. Maven gegen Goldust ist dann mehr ein Angle, der das typische verrückte Chaos des Hardcore Titles nach sich zieht und das durch die ganze Show. Kane gegen Angle ist halt einerseits ein Stoymatch und auf der anderen Seite eine klassische David vs. Goliath Story und als solche auch in Ordnung. Anständig ist auch Undertaker gegen Flair, was einen Brawl darstellt, der sich auch außerhalb des Rings abspielt und bei dem Flair erst sehr einstecken muss, um dann doch noch mit seinen typischen Tricks und auch Andersons Hilfe zurück zu kommen. Edge gegen Booker T ist dann kein schlechtes Match aber halt ein Filler. Austin gegen Nash danach ist ein Stückweiter die Vorbereitung auf Hogan gegen Rock und lebt vor Allem von der Heel/Facedynamik. Das World Tag Title Match ist ebenfalls in Ordnung aber auch nichts übermäßig besonderes. Das kommt aber dann. Hogan gegen Rock ist klar MOTN und hätte für mich auch ME sein sollen. Natürlich ist das wrestlerisch kein Feuerwerk aber selten ein Match gesehen, in dem die Zuschauer so mitgenommen wurden. Tolles Storytelling auch, große Spannung, große Symbolwirkung von einzelnen Aktionen wie vom Legdrop oder auch das Hogan Rock den Finisher klaut. Zudem ist auch das was nach dem Match passiert große Klasse. Das Damenmatch danach war sicherlich nicht schlecht aber eher zum Runterkommen. Das ME War dann anständig und hat vor Allem von der Story rund um Stephanie gelebt. Insgesamt ein Wrestlemania, ohne echtes Lowlight aber außer Hogan gegen Rock auch ohne echtes Highlight und auch das war nicht wrestlerisch der Klassiker. Deswegen insgesamt eine mehr als anständige Veranstaltung, aber um gut zu sein fehlen die Ausreißer nach oben außer Hogan vs. Rock."

Personally I think that the Build up and the match itself between John Cena and The Rock 10 years later was better, but at that time the return of Hulk Hogan in WWF (this is the last WrestleMania that has the? F? ) and the incredible and unexpected ovation he had at WrestleMania X8 will remain in the history of sport entertainment. This is the match that can represent perfectly ? the Art of Pro Wrestling ? ... the match itself is not great but the emotions that arouses are incredible and reality and fiction are mixed perfectly here... I think the the ? post NWO run in? segment was improvised. Other notable matches : Undertaker vs Ric Flair was great ... Art of Storytelling and to represent the storyline in the ring. I read and heard the most various criticisms of this match, who says that it was just a fist fight or who did not have anything good ... I think it is not a match that everyone can appreciate ... really think that Flair and Taker not could they fight a match full of moves and submissions? they chose other because it was more suitable to represent the storyline... the main event between Chris Jericho and Triple H was not bad... not bad as people think. It was good and solid in psicology with a good finisher... the problem was that it shouldn? t have been the main event... going in the ring after The Rock vs Hogan wasn? t easy at all in my opinion... give them credit. All the undercard was good ... every match was a singles match and was solid especially edge vs booker t and Kurt angle vs Kane ... nothing really special but not bad at all... I didn? t liked Scott hall vs Steve Austin and the ? hardcore championship? staff but it wasn? t terrible. Obviously it wasn? t the greatest WrestleMania ever but it was a good one in my opinion. One a year was 2002 with great PPVs primarily Summerslam"
[7.0] "Wrestlemania 18 gehört für mich heute nicht mehr in die Top 10 aller WMs. Sie ist auf den zweiten Blick etwas schwächer, als ihr Ruf. Insgesamt gibt es doch deutlich zu viele Matches, von denen die Mehrzahl eher Filler-Charakter hat. Gerade die Under- und teilweise die Midcard enttäuschen. Der Opener zwischen RVD und Regal ist ganz gefällig und bleibt eine Weile das beste Match des Abends. Anschließend kommt lediglich die geniale Toronto-Crowd in Fahrt, während der PPV mit mehreren teils zusammengewürfelten und belanglosen Matches aufwartet. Unter dem Strich ist die erste Stunde eher schwach, trotz Beteiligten wie Christian oder Angle. Erst mit dem Street Fight Undertaker vs. Flair vermag die Show in den nächsten Gang zu schalten. Austin vs. Hall beginnt mit der deutlichen Destruktion der nWo und somit WCW, auf größter Bühne. Diese setzt sich mit dem Herzstück dieser Veranstaltung fort. Hogan vs. Rocky ist ein Match für die Ewigkeit. Wie jedes Hogan-Match ist es eigentlich schlecht und sehr langsam, aber die Crowd adelt diese Partie zu einer der legendärsten der Wrestlinggeschichte. Hulkmania is back! Es ist nach wie vor ein Mark out für mich, wie die Millions and Millions spontan zu Hulkmaniacs werden und die Stimmung durch die Decke geht! Der Mainer hat es unglaublich schwer, da er nach dem klimatischen Höhepunkt des Abends stattfindet. Selten hat ein Match mehr unter seiner falschen Position auf der Card gelitten. Andererseits zeigen die beiden auch deutlich zu wenig, um HHHs Inthronisierung zu adeln. Insgesamt eine in der Gesamtleistung seltsam unfassbare WM, die für mich irgendwo zwischen 6 und 7 steht."

I did enjoy Hogan vs The Rock as it was my MOTN because of the crowd. -*** I didn't like the main event match because it was too damn predictable and I hate when that happens. [6.0] "One of the most mixed WrestleManias of all time. There's few good/great matches in here but it's mostly okay, forgettable matches. Rock/Hogan is a classic undoubtedly due to both's gigantic levels of charisma and star power and Undertaker/Flair is good and picks up greatly near the end, but the start is a bit boring and by the numbers, still an underrated Streak match. Everything else is just kinda okay, Regal vs RVD is a good opener, Edge vs Booker T is short but has a fast pace, and Kurt Angle gets a pretty fine match out of Kane, and the main event is fine but is overshadowed by Rock/Hogan. Everything else is just so bland and forgettable, if Rock/Hogan wasn't on here, this could probably be considered one of the worst Manias of all time. Still a decent show overall."

The rest of the card was decent, but a let down considering Angle faces Kane and Austin faces Scott Hall. It seems like such a waste. And the main event is Triple H vs Jericho, and nothing against those two at all, but it was a head scratcher"
[7.0] "Diese Wrestlemania steht ganz im Zeichen der WWF Main-Eventer und der Abrechnung mit der nWo, stellvertretend für die gesamte WCW der Monday Night Wars Phase. Die Art, wie Austin und später auch Rocky die Outsiders im Alleingang erledigen, hat schon etwas Vernichtendes. Immerhin bringt das den Hulkster zurück in die Spur - sein MOTN gegen The Rock ist heute noch legendär, der Turn zurück zur Hulkamania die vom Publikum in Toronto forcierte logische Konsequenz. Abseits dieser Geschichte gibt es aber auch nur noch einen richtigen Hingucker, und das ist das überlegt aufgebaute Match zwischen Undertaker und Ric Flair, welches mit gelungener Intensität überzeugt. Lowlights der Show sind zwar einerseits die Hardcore-Geschichten, die Tag-Teams und die Damen, andererseits aber auch klar das Booking, das uns einen schwachen und schwach aufgebauten Mainer präsentiert, der in seiner Konsequenz mit der telegrafierten Thronbesteigung Helmsleys keinerlei noch so niedrig angesetzten Erwartungen einhalten kann. Der Rest ist weder gut noch schlecht - Opener okay, DDP fröhlich, Angle motiviert und Edge abgefeiert, wobei bei all diesen Fillern vor allen Dingen das grandios aufgelegte Publikum in Toronto den heimlichen Star gibt. Blendet man das aus, bleibt trotz einiger Erinnerungswürdigkeit eher eine Wrestlemania aus dem oberen Mittelfeld im Gedächtnis, die aber den Vorteil hat, mit dem Icon-Match ein unabdingbares Must-See zu transportieren. Knappe sieben Zähler kann man da springen lassen."
[5.0] "Schwierig Sachlich zu beurteilen, weil mir vom Geschmack kaum etwas gefallen hat. Zuviel Musikauftritte. Eine erstaunlich schwache Midcard(habe in letzter einfach besseres gesehen)Sei es von Christian, Regal oder Goldust. Es ist doch erschreckend das erst ein Flair vs Undertaker Match(Match Nummer 5) diese Veranstaltung für mich sehenswert macht. Kurz danach wird es aber wieder von Edge vs Booker T getrübt. Und dann Austin vs Hall wieder diese Unfairen Dinge welche einst die Outsiders berühmt machten. Mit dem klaren guten Ausgang. Der Quatsch des Hardcore Titels, der zu viel Aufmerksamheit bekam war einfach nur langweilig. Das Tag Team Titel Match fand ich jetzt nicht so toll(APA zu schnell raus Bradshaw war damals im Team schon nicht schlecht, aber Faarooq schien man fallen zu lassen)Chuck&Billy war jetzt kein Team was bei mir so großen Jubel auslöst. Hogan vs Rock und Triple H vs Jericho hätte man gerne tauschen sollen. (Diven Match hätte ich genau wo es war auch gesetzt)aber die Fans gehen bei Hogan & Rock mehr ab, man spricht bis Heute noch von diesem Match. Das Aftermatch hätte ein geiles Gefühl gelassen & Raw hätte man blind schreiben können. Triple H war zwar gut, aber der Showstealer war der 2. Main Event und leider nicht der 3. Fazit:WM 18 ist ein gemisch aus Matches die man schnell vergessen hat und Matches die man sich mindestens einmal anschauen sollte(Hogan vs Rock & Flair vs Undertaker)."

[8.0] "Fand diese Ausgabe wirklich nicht schlecht, nicht so gut wie die aus dem Vorjahr, aber doch ziemlich gut, weswegen ich auch 8 Punkte gebe. Es gab natürlich auch schlechte Matches, aber es kann eben nicht alles Gold sein was glänzt. RVD gegen Regal hätte ruhig etwas länger sein können, da beide auch wirklich was können. zwischen den Matches gab es oft die Segmente mit dem Hardcore Titel, 24/7 Regel, was auch ein wenig Spannung reingebracht hat. Taker gegen Flair war nicht wirklich schlecht, sondern sogar gut, viele harte Moves, da die Fehde ja auch etwas ins Persönliche gezogen wurde. The Rock gegen Hogan hatte eine krasse Atmosphäre, die einfach geil war, da haben zwei riesen Entertainer zusammen die Crowd gerockt, und selbst das Match war überraschend stark. Der Main Event, nunja, da wäre mehr drin gewesen. Aber es war auch nicht schlecht, beide zeigen paar nette Moves, ein Tisch geht kaputt und Y2J bearbeitet den verletzten Oberschenkel von HHH. Am Ende gewinnt aber doch HHH und lässt sich feiern. Habe mich gut unterhalten gefühlt, über die meiste Zeit, weswegen es gute 8 Punkte gibt."

Das Hardcore Match ohne Wertung. Trotzdem fand ich die ganzen Segmente gut & witzig. 4. Angle gegen Kane war solide. Hätte Angle nach einem starken Jahr gern in einem wichtigeren Match gegen einen bessren Gegner gesehen. Wenigstens durfte er hier gewinnen. (2 1/4*) 5. Undertaker gegen Flair war eine Schlacht. Mein persönliches Highlight in diesem Match, war das Eingreifen Andersons. (3 1/4*) 6. Edge gegen Booker war interessant, leidet aber leider unter der kurzen Zeit und der dämlichen Story. (3*) 7. Stone Cold gegen Hall war enttäuschend. Beide waren hier außer Form. Wenigstens endete das Match mit einem Stunner bei dem Hall nur so durch die Luft flog. (2 1/4*) 8. TTTM war okay. (2 1/2*) 9. Hogan gegen Rock siehe Guide, 10. Damen Title Match war okay. (2 3/4*) 11. Der ME war gut und gehört meiner Meinung nach in den Guide. Leider war die Crowd schon ausgepowert & der Ausgang war auch schon vorher klar. Trotzdem zeigen beide ein gutes Match. (3 1/2*) WM18 lebt vor allem vom Rock Hogan Match und man sollte sich die Veranstaltung einmal anschauen. Kommt aber nicht an die vorige WM ran & auch die nächste sollte besser werden."
[7.0] "Der Opener war kurz und knackig. Sehr schwungvoll und ein wirklich guter Start in die Veranstaltung (***). Das European Title Match konnte mich nicht richtig überzeugen. Das Match war halt da (**1/2). Das Hardcore Title Match war ganz unterhaltsam. Ich bin eigentlich kein Freund von ständigen Titelwechseln, aber hier fand ich das ganz lustig. Vor allem, weil es sich die ganze Show über abgespielt hat (**). Angle/Kane war in Ordnung. Allerdings stimmt die Chemie zwischen den Beiden nicht so ganz und das Finish war total unnötig (***). Das Undertaker/Flair Match wurde ziemlich verbissen und hart geführt. Es kamen verschiedene Gegenstände zum Einsatz (Klappstuhl, Eisenstange) und am Ende musste der Taker sogar noch einen Spinebuster von Arn Anderson einstecken. Insgesamt ein schöner Brawl (***1/2). Edge/Booker T war nicht schlecht, leidet aber unter der Zeit. Ich hätte gern noch mehr gesehen (**3/4). Austin/Hall war durchschnittlich. In Erinnerung bleiben eigentlich nur die Stunner (**3/4). Das TT Match hat Spaß gemacht. Es gab gute Action, nur das Finish ist echt blöd (***1/4). Rock/Hogan war einfach nur episch. Die Crowd war total aus dem Häuschen und zwar das ganze Match über. Jeder Move wurde gerade zu zelebriert. Wrestlerisch kein Knaller, aber zusammen mit der Stimmung und der Atmosphäre ein grandioses Match (****). Das Womens Title Match war okay (**1/2). Der Main Event hat mich leider enttäuscht. Das war wirklich nicht auf einem WM Main Event Niveau. Es gibt keinen sauberen Matchfluss und die Crowd ist leider auch nicht richtig dabei. Kein schlechtes Match, aber ich habe viel mehr erwartet (***). Insgesamt eine gute WM. Das Highlight ist ganz klar Rock/Hogan!"
[7.0] "Der Opener ist ganz gut, allerdings fehlte zur völligen Entfaltung die Zeit, womit auch der Titelwechsel nicht wirkte. Die teils harten Suplessen von Regal waren zum Zungeschnalzen (**1/2). Die DDP-Version der WWF/E zu sehen, tat mir als altem WCW-Fan immer weh. Das Match gegen Christian, bevor dieser ein echt akzeptierter Singles-Wrestler war, ging gerade so durch. Nichts Halbes, nichts Ganzes (**). Weder mit Goldust noch mit Maven kann ich was anfangen. Das Match war dann kurz und so là là, setzte dann aber wenigstens das 24/7-Hardcore Title-Gewechsle in Gang, das erfrischend anders ist und einigen Workern ohne Match ihre Wrestlemania-Appearance gibt. Wird positiv berücksichtigt (*1/4). Angle (w/Resthaar) gegen Kane harmoniert dann nicht ganz. Das Match ist zwar ordentlich, das Finish aber auch ziemlich blöd (**1/2). Taker/Flair siehe Matchguide. Hartes Stück Kampf, wrestlerisch dünn (***). Edge und Booka stellen dann ein schnelles und sehenswürdiges Match auf die Beine, das für den Matchguide aber deutlich zu kurz ist (**3/4). Das nächste Match ist für mich trotz fehlender Qualität immer noch ein Markout, da Hall in der besten Form seit 1998. Dennoch gibt es außer Overbooking und einem der am besten gesellten Stunner überhaupt nicht sonderlich viel zu sehen (**1/4). Wenn Stacy nicht gerade auf dem Apron die Hüften kreisen ließ, waren die Fans nun absolut tot. Obwohl durchaus immer was los war, ist das Tag Team Titles Match bedeutungslos. Billy & Chuck? ! Argh (**3/4). Hogan/Rocky ist MotN und mehr im Guide (***1/2). Die Mädels wollen, können in diesem Fall aber eben nicht wirklich, zumal die ausgelaugte Crowd kein Interesse zeigt. Schwamm drüber (*3/4). Der Main Event ist dann eine Enttäuschung auf hohem Niveau. Verletzungs-Storytelling in einem Wrestlemania-ME ist nicht meins und ohnehin wollten nur alle sehen, wie Steph einen Pedigree bekommt. Das ließ den Champion Jericho zu einer Randnotiz werden, was dieser definitiv nicht verdient hatte (**1/2)."
[7.0] "Guter PPV. Die Atmosphäre in der Arena in Kanada war super. Die Card versprach schon einen guten Event. Begann sehr stimmungsvoll mit dem Title Gewinn für RVD. Gefolgt von zwei ansehnlichen Matches um den European und Hardcore Title. Angle gegen Kane war O. K. , auch wenn man sich vielleicht einen anderen Spot für Angle gewünscht hätte. Es folgte das für mich beste Match bei WM 18. Hatte ich nicht unbedingt mit gerechnet, aber Flair gegen den Taker war ein super intensiver, brutaler Brawl. Ganz nach meinem Geschmack. Denke die beiden haben das Optimum rausgeholt. Genial war auch der Spinebuster von Arn Anderson. Edge gegen Booker T war nur ein Pausenfüller. Hall gegen Austin war auch ganz gut, auch hier ist eine Aktion besonders zu erwähnen. Der Stunner gegen Hall, den dieser echt super gesellt hat. Das 4 Team Tag Team Elimination Match war besser als gedacht. Hatte mit noch weniger Zeit gerechnet. Auch wenn bei der Zeit nur ein Spot nach dem anderen durchgezogen wird. Habe ich ehrlich gesagt mit noch weniger Zeit und einem Match unter Wert gerechnet. Hogan gegen Rock bleibt natürlich auch heute noch ein Klassiker. Von der Stimmung in der Arena natürlich das Highlight des Abends. Das Damen Match war besser als viele Frauen Matches zuvor. Natürlich hatte dieses Match nach dem Rock vs. Hogan Match einen sehr schweren Stand. Aber auch im Main Event war dem Publikum anzumerken das es sich vorher echt verausgabt hat. Allerdings war der Main Event wieder sehr stark. Jericho hatte sich diesen Spot damals wirklich verdient. Aber das Triple H gewinnt war zu erwarten."
[5.0] "Die Show startet solide. RVD und Regal hätten wohl jeweils mit einem anderen Gegner ein besseres Match auf die Beine gestellt, aber durch Robs Sieg war das der genau richtige Start (*3/4) DDP vs. Christian war zu kurz um wirklich was aufzubauen. Leider gab es zudem noch Timing Probleme beim Finish (*1/4) Die Motivation Hardcore Champion zu sein konnte ich nie ganz nachvollziehen. An diesem Abend sorgte die, zu diesem Zeitpunkt schon etwas ausgelutschte, 24/7 Rule allerdings für einige lustige Segmente. Goldust & Mavens Auftritt gehört allerdings nicht dazu (DUD) Angle vs. Kane ist ein ordentliches Match, dem allerdings die Zeit fehlt um auf ein großes Finish aufzubauen. Das letztendliche Finish ist dann auch leider noch gebotcht (**) Taker vs. Flair siehe Matchguide (***) Edge & Booker bekommen leider auch zu wenig Zeit. Nach dem Aufbau war die Crowd allerdings auch nicht wirklich heiß auf das Match (*1/2) Austin vs. Hall ist ein schwaches Match. Bis zum overbookten Finish passiert nicht viel. Mit diesem Match wurde die nWo so ziemlich begraben, da Hall trotz mehrere Eingriffe nicht den Hauch einer Chance hatte (*) Tag Title Match ist ein zäher Filler (*1/2) Rock vs. Hogan siehe MG (***1/2) Womens Match ist ein schlimmer Filler, mit deutlich zu vielen Botches in der kurzen Matchzeit (1/2*) Main Event kann zwar nicht das volle Potezial ausschöpfen, aber ist insgesamt doch ein gutes Match mit logischem Matchverlauf und dem overall richtigem Sieger. Jericho wurde bis WM X-8 so verbookt, dass ihm sowieso keiner den Sieg zugetraut hat. Darunter und durch die Positionierung nach dem Rock/Hogan Match litt die Stimmung & Spannung (***1/4) Viele Matches litten unter der Zeiteinteilung. Ein paar hätte man sich durchaus sparen können (Tag Titles, EU Title) und schon wäre die Show kurzweiliger gewesen. Die 4 (! ) Live Perfomances waren zudem teilweise einfach unnötig und haben auch wertvolle Zeit gekostet. So bleibt eine eher Mittelmäßige Wrestlemania."
[7.0] "Eine sehr eigenartige Wrestlemania. Sie kommt quasi komplett ohne den üblichen Comedy-Schwachsinn aus, der sonst so gerne gezeigt wird. Alle Matches kann man wirklich Ernst nehmen. Auch die Starpower ist vielleicht so hoch wie bei keiner anderen Wrestlemania. Allerdings wird sie irgendwie nicht richtig genutzt. Die meisten Paarungen passen entweder nicht richtig oder die Kontrahenten holen nicht das beste aus dem Match raus. Es gibt keinen Totalausfall, aber auch nur ein wirklich legendäres Match (Hogan vs Rock). Das Taker Match ist verhältnismäßig schwach. Der Mainevent stellt ganz sicher nicht das Beste da was diese Card so zu bieten hatte, Angle wird gegen Kane verschwendet und Austin gegen den alten Mann Scott Hall. Alles nicht schlecht, aber von einer Wrestlemania mit diesen Stars erwarte ich irgendwie deutlich mehr."
[8.0] "WrestleMania X-8 bot in meinen Augen eine mehr als unterhaltsame Mischung aus gutem Wrestling (Kurt Angle), Hardcore Segmenten (Undertaker, Flair), Filler Matches (Tag Team Title) und einem wahren Icon vs. Icon Match. Leider trübt der Main Event mit seinem mehr als vorhersehbaren Ausgang die Veranstaltung ein wenig."
[8.0] "Viele "Fillmatches" allerdings waren alle von Bedeutung, gut aufgebaut und unterhaltsam. Der Main Event war eine Schlacht mit wenigen Höhepunkten aber eine Soap-Geschichte wusste das Match zu erzählen. Mein persönliches Match des Abends war im endeffekt Kurt Angle vs Kane. Viele Konter, schnelles und langsames Worken gut gepaart, nicht schlecht gemacht. Den Hardcoretitle über 4 Stunden hinweg verteidigen zu lassen führte zu tollen Backstage Segmenten, genial gemacht."
[7.0] "Insgesamt gesehen eine ordentliche WrestleMania. Rock vs Hogan und Taker vs Flair fand ich stark, der Rest war alles entweder durchschnitt oder eher schwach. Der Main Event war in Ordnung aber nicht wirklich WM Main Event würdig. Insgesamt eine gute 3 als Note für diesen PPV."
[8.0] "Ich muss bei dieser WM der Mehrheit widersprechen. Hogan vs. Rock ist ein Klassiker, den ich immer wieder schauen kann (nicht zuletzt wegen der einmaligen Crowd), die Mid-Card war wrestlerisch sehr stark, Taker-Flair ebenfalls mehr als gelungen. Auch der Main-Event war überzeugend, litt allerdings unter etwas mangelnder Spannung. Dennoch alles in allem eine wirklich gute Wrestlemania! - - - Im Übrigen stimmen die Angaben der Match-Dauer nicht: RVD 6'20, DDP 6'10, Maven 3'16, Angle 10'46, Taker 18'47, Edge 6'34, Austin 9'53, TT-Turmoil 13'52, Hogan 16'24, Women 6'17, HHH 18'43"
[6.0] "Nach nochmaligem Ansehen der Show, muss doch eine Aufwertung passieren. Die Ansetzungen der Matches sind zwar größtenteils krude und ohne jeglichen Aufbau, machen aber bei der Betrachtung dennoch Spaß. Fehler, sogar gravierende Fehler wurden trotzdem gemacht. Der ME darf nichts anderes sein, als Hogan/Rock, dass hätte man wissen müssen. Somit war dann der ME sehr ruhig und das übertrug sich auf die Protagonisten. Zudem hätte Austin die NWO nicht derart demontieren dürfen, hier hat man klar eine potentielle Money Fehde verschenkt. Schwach gebookt. Ebenfalls schlecht geschrieben war im Vorfeld Edge/Booker, die doch tatsächlich wegen eines Shampoo-Werbespots einen Kampf bei WM austragen durften. Man kann den Fans ja einiges vorsetzen, wie Kane vs. Angle, die keinerlei Aufbau hatten für ihr Match, aber Shampoo-Werbung beleidigt einfach auch den Rahmen der Veranstaltung. Sehr schön war dann Flair/Taker, auch Angle/Kane war nett, zudem die doch recht bunte und abwechslungsreiche Card zu Beginn. Epochaler Höhepunkt und vergessliches Glanzlicht in der kompletten Historie von WM war dann Rock/Hogan, die einen (großen) Moment für die Ewigkeit schufen. Insgesamt eine ansehnliche Mania, die man sich immer wieder ansehen kann, auch wenn man hier und da ein Auge zudrücken muss."
[6.0] "Nicht gerade eine top WrestleMania. Das beste Match des Abends war für mich klar Flair vs. Undertaker - sonst ist nichts auch nur annähernd erinnerungswürdig und ziemliches Mittelmaß."
[6.0] "Insgesamt gesehen eine glatte 3 als Note. Rock vs Hogan und Taker vs Flair fand ich stark, der Rest war alles entweder durchschnitt oder eher schwach. Der Main Event war in Ordnung aber nicht wirklich WM Main Event würdig."
[6.0] "Für eine Wrestlemania ziemliches Mittelmaß, da fast kein Match wirklich in Erinnerung bleibt. Schöner Opener, aber nichts wirklich spektakuläres; dennoch schönes Wrestling. DDP gegen Christian fand ich gerade noch okay, aber auch nicht mehr. Goldust vs. Maven war furchtbar, aber zum Glück kurz. Angle liefert mit Kane ein sehr schönes Match ab und auch Undertaker gegen Flair war ein gutes Match, wobei letzteres für mich das Motn war. Edge gegen Booker fand ich langweilig, genau wie, nach Goldust gegen Maven, das meiner Meinung nach schlechteste Match der Wrestlemania, nämlich Stone Cold gegen Scott Hall. Auch das Tag-Team Match konnte mich nicht überzeugen, irgendwie war kaum Atmosphäre und Spannung enthalten. Spannung und Atmosphäre gab es aber bei Rock vs. Hogan, was war sehr mittelmäßiges Wrestling bot, aber doch Spaß gemacht hat zu schauen, aufgrund der Zuschauer. Main-Event war sehr schön, obwohl die Fans dort kaum auf die Aktionen reagierten."
[7.0] "Sicherlich wrestlerisch keine Über-Wrestlemania, aber unterhaltsam ist sie dennoch. Das liegt daran, dass es einfach kein wirklich schlechtes Match gab (ausser Maven/Goldust). Alles, Maven/Goldust mal ausgeklammert, ist mindestens gehobener Durchschnitt und auf jeden Fall unterhaltsam. Zwar fehlt wirklich ein Übermatch, erinnern wird man sich trotzdem an einiges, wie z. B. Taker/Flair in ihrem No DQ Match und vor allem natürlich an Hogan gegen The Rock. Wenn man mal ernst ist, ist das Match an sich eher mau, aber die Stimmung und das Feeling stimmen einfach perfekt. Summa Summarum halt eine ordentliche Wrestlemania. Sicherlich nicht die betse aller Zeiten, aber eine der besseren."
[8.0] "Nur der Main Event und Taker vs Flair konnten überzeugen. Hogen vs Rock war der eigendliche Hauptkampf des Abends. Scott Hall vs Stone Cold Steve Austin war auch noch im Ramen. Der Rest geviel mir aber überhaupt nicht. Es stimmt die Wrestling Zeiten der einzelnen Matches sind alle samt etwas zu hoch. Das Merkt man auch solche Matches passen niemals in ein 4 Stunden Zeit limit."
[8.0] "Ich fand die Mania stark, schöner Opener, gefolgt von schönem European Title Match und unwichtig wirkende Matches wie Kane vs. Angle oder Edge gegen Booker bieten schönes Wrestling, das No DQ Match ist vielleicht etwas zu lang, dafür aber umso intensiver Icon vs. Icon klares MOTN. Der Main Event bot auch seine Klasse. Nur den Titelwechsel hätte es (noch) nicht gebraucht. 8 Punkte."
[7.0] "Ich kann nicht erklären warum, aber irgendwie mag ich diese Wrestlemania! Es fehlt zwar ein wrestlerisch hochklassiges Match, dafür gibt es jedoch einen wirklich kurzweiligen Wrestling-Abend mit einer tollen Atmosphäre! Die ersten beiden Matches sind zwei flotte und ansehnliche Kämpfe, Kurt Angle und Kane können an ihre Leistungen wenige Wochen zuvor bei Raw nicht anknüpfen (was wohl überwiegend am miesen Finish liegt). Der Undertaker und Ric Flair liefern das Match of the Night; für mich sogar ein großer Klassiker. Wenn sich diese beiden Legenden in die Augen blicken ist es einfach ein unglaubliches Gefühl. Ähnlich ist es auch beim Rock/ Hogan Kampf, der wohl jedem Wrestling-Fan ein Begriff ist. Der Main Event bleibt ein wenig hinter der Erwartungen zurück, ist aber dennoch ein gutes und ansehnliches Match. Leider war bei den Zuschauern die Luft bereits raus; auch fehlte die Spannung weil mit nichts anderem als einem Sieg von Triple H zu rechnen war ..."
[6.0] "von der Card vielleicht die beste Wrestlemania :Hogan, Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Angle, Flair, Jericho, Triple H. Leider fehlte HBK aus Verletzungsgründen. Aber kein Match war denkwürdig, wobei das Potenzial da gewesen ist. Fazit daraus, es war solide"
[5.0] "Unterdurchschnittliche WrestleMania. Die ersten beiden Matches waren solide, ebenso wie Angle vs. Kane. Dennoch bleiben sie nicht lange in Erinnerung. Der Street Fight war dann ein *** Match, selbiges gilt für Rock gegen Hogan, welchen ich aber ohne die Zuschauerreaktionen nur ** 1/2 gegeben hätte. Leider passte sich auch der Main Event dem schwachen Niveau dieser WrestleMania an."
[8.0] "Konnte mich sehr begeistern, die Backstage Segmente waren bei einer WM nie besser. Rock vs Hogan hätte in den Main Event gehört, ich bin mir sicher, dass Triple H und Y2J bessere Reaktionen erzielt hätten, wenn sie nur den Co-Mainevent dargestellt hätten, denn ihr Match war sehr ansehnlich, nur zu schade, dass die Zuschauer sichtlich ausgepumpt waren. Austin darf die NWO plätten, naja war der Beweis dafür, dass die WWE ihr eigenen Worker immer besser gegen die Ex-WCWler aussehen liess. DDP vs Cage, Edge vs Booker und der Opener sehr gut. Das Women und TT Title Match, die einzigen Tiefpunkte. Match of the Night für mich das Flar gegen Taker Match, indem Flair seine beste Leistung in der WWE zeigte, vielleicht bis auf das kürzlich ausgetragene Retirement Match gegen HBK. Für mich, die durchgehend unterhaltsamste Wrestlemania."
[6.0] "Hat mir nicht so gut gefallen, kein wirklich gutes Match. Einige solide Matches (DDP-Christian, Angle vs. Kane, Flair vs. Taker und der ME). Der Stimmungshöhepunkt natürlich bei Rock vs. Hogan. Dennoch war es wrestlerisch einer WrestleMania nicht würdig."
[6.0] "Keine gute Wrestlemania, Hogan vs Rock war gut, die Zuschauer auch, der Rest jedoch durchschnitt. Taker vs Flair war noch ok, und der Main Event... naja siehe Matt Macks Kommentar, der sollte reichen."
[8.0] "Ich stemme mich gegen die Tradition und sage, dass NICHT das Titelmatch, sondern Rock vs Hogan der Main Event hätte sein sollen. Nicht zuletzt, weil Rocks Sieg sicher eine Überraschung war und Triple Hs Sieg nicht! Kurzum:der ME war fast die einzige Schwachstelle in der Show und zumindest für einem ME zu schwach! Die restlichen Kämpfe waren fast durchweg mindestens 8 Punkte wert. Ins Gesicht fällt sicher, dass es diesmal nur ein einfach Four Corners Match statt dem fast schon obligatorischen TLC gab, deshalb "nur" die gute 2."
[8.0] "Diese WM lebte ganz klar vom Hogan/Rock Match. Leider ging dadurch der Main Event etwas unter. Aber alles in allem fand ich diese Mania sehr gelungen und die Stimmung in Toronto war wiedereinmal klasse. Die WWE sollte mehr PPV's in Kanada veranstalten."
[8.0] "Eine gute WrestleMania die hier von einigen unterbewertet wird, was ich nicht verstehen kann, denn so schlecht war die WrestleMania ja nicht! Ganz klar Match der Abends Rock vs. Hogan aber auch Jericho vs. Triple H & RVD vs. Regal waren gar nicht mal so schlecht! Enttäuschend war das Match Undertaker vs. Flair ... aber sonst doch ein gute, solide WrestleMania!"
[4.0] "Schwache Vorstellung für eine Wrestlemania. Das einzige, was in Erinnerung bleibt, ist das solide "oldschoolige" Taker-Flair-Match mit Arn Anderson-Eingriff und die surreale Zuschauerreaktion auf das Hogan-Rock-Match. Der Main Event wurde von dieser Reaktion, dem schlechten Booking vor der Show und dem absehbaren Ausgang total überschattet und verbleibt in der Erinnerung als das Match, bei dem Triple H Chris Jericho (erneut) vor laufenden Kameras kastrierte."
[4.0] "Erschreckend schwache Wrestlemania, die im Nachhinein fast nur von den Reaktionen im Rock vs Hogan Match lebt (das Match selber war nix). Der Main Event blieb auch weit hinter den Erwartungen zurück. MOTN war mit Flair vs Undertaker ein Streetfight zweier älterer Herren."
