[5.0] "No Way Out 2002 was a middling show. There wasn't anything on there that I'd say was especially awful, but there wasn't much that was good either. The "twist" with the nWo pretending to be nice only to then reveal themselves to be evil at the end didn't work as none of the babyfaces bought into it and they turned after barely 2 hours of being in the company, so the shock aspect of it was non-existent. If they'd teased for weeks on television that they were actually going to be good guys then the swerve at the end might have actually had some bite. As it was, it just felt silly. The big three matches are all passable at best, and the undercard is kind of just "there". Not a disaster of a show but one that is very easily skipped if you're doing a 2002 re-watch"

[3.0] "Triple H Vs Angle was solid, but the WWF debut of the NWO, although fine, didn't make that much of an impact until the end of the show, every other match on the card ranges from middling to bad, and the booking made everything feel inconsequential. Overall WWF No Way Out (2002) is a bad show thanks to it's flat out weak in ring product and worthless booking."

[3.0] "The underwhelming road to WM X8 continues with a pretty mediocre show in No Way Out 2002. Of the three big matches on display, only one delivered and that was the pretty entertaining bout between Rock & Taker. It was a solid match though a bit below par of what you'd expect from these two. The other two big matches definitely delivered below par though. Angle/HHH failed to get off the ground, as it was more about Stephanie McMahon as special guest ref than the actual in ring quality. It doesn't help as well that Angle wins over Rumble winner HHH, especially when it doesn't factor into Mania at all. The main event between Jericho & Austin was pretty subpar, as the two men just didn't click at all. The rest of the show didn't deliver much either, making for a pretty mediocre and skippable show."

[5.0] "I wouldn't call this a bad PPV, but it is a very inconsistent and frustrating one. The amount of ref bumps are insane. There are very close to double digit ref bumps throughout this show, and that is just unacceptable. JR even comments during the main event that "it isn't a good night for the zebras." It was so bad the commentary team had to acknowledge it. The Angle/Triple H match was especially disappointing to me. And you know it is a misstep when I feel those two had the worst match of the night. RVD and Goldust punched way above expectations, and Austin/Jericho was also a highlight. Not a card for the ages by any means, but you can do worse."

[4.0] "This PPV was a disappointment for a few reasons.. 1) No really good matches. HHH/Angle was the match of the night but it isn't saying much. This isn't the worst thing really because looking back at the attitude era, they had some REALLY BAD PPV's, but at least they were interesting to watch due to the feuds or character development... which leads me to... 2) NWO returned and basically didn't do much except exist. Hulk pissed off the rock back stage which hopefully will lead to a good feud. Rock took it personally and told all of NWO to fuck off basically. But, the return was bland. 3) No beginning or endings to stories. Stephanie "won" in her feud with HHH and regal won his battle against edge. Rock beat undertaker in the weakest feud I've seen either guy in. 4) Jericho keeps winning and nobody cares. He hasn't shown to be the superstar in the ring like he is on the mic, and he just can't hold his own with Austin or any of the other top talent on the roster. 5) NWO were most impactful at the end of the night, after the Austin/Jericho match was over, with everyone stunning austin and spraypainting him. I am so frustrated watching these episodes. We know who killed WCW, it was the shitty writing and bland stoytelling. NWO was "cool" for a bit but a year after it was born, it was no longer cool. All due to the writing really. In fact, some people might say that the way NWO kept going on in WCW with no interesting plots was a big reason that WCW died. So, you're going to bring them back just to keep being boring? I seriously wonder how WWF writing and storytelling got SOOO BAD after they bought WCW. The whole return of NWO was botched, just as bad as the initial invasion was. Both plots were done in the most boring, uninteresting, and unsurprising ways possible. It was more of vince flexing "i own WCW, i own NWO" and stopping at that, instead of making either one an interesting story to integrate into the WWF universe. I'm just disappointed overall. I thought I'd be marking out but I'm sitting here hating myself for wasting my time. Now I remember why 2002 was the last year I watched WWF."

[6.0] "It was alright with the long awaited debut of nWo, which had some enjoyable interactions with Stone Cold and Rock. The match quality differed, but it was mostly solid. It started out not so good though with a Turmoil Match that had so many rule breakings that it drove me crazy, but then I really enjoyed RVD vs Goldust with Dustin masterfully leading the match. WWF Tag Title match was insulting with how hard it was for both Booker and Test to put Spike down, Regal vs Edge was fine with a very good finish and Rock vs Taker had too much of the Attitude Era brawling. Angle vs Triple H was another great bout with Hunter being really over since coming back and I've enjoyed Stephanie's role in this, while the main event had parts that I really liked, although brawling outside and nWo's interference felt a little lazy. So overall a pretty good PPV on the way to WrestleMania."

[6.0] "What a disappointment this PPV was. A great show on paper with 3 main event caliber matches, but all of them was heavily overbooked and it just left us with a show that would have been a decent RAW, but a disappointing PPV. NWO returning was a highlight and all of them got a pop from the crowd. I will say I don't think anything here stands out as terrible, but nothing is great either and felt like a filler show to Wrestlemania and some of the results ended up meaning nothing. Rock v Undertaker match of the night."

[4.0] "The definition of a filler PPV that was forgotten soon afterwards. The feuds were weak or out right lacking in story and Jericho/Austin was the closest thing resembling the glory days of 2000/01."

[5.0] "A weak PPV with some good matches that have crappy storytelling. The tag team turmoil was fun to watch and I believe the Hardy Boyz made their return in this match. (**2/3) Goldust vs RVD was a fine match but, didn't have good storytelling. Goldust attacked RVD for no reason. (**3/4) Spike & Tazz vs Booker T and Test was average and half the time I couldn't tell who the legal man was. (**1/2) Edge vs William Regal was a good match with a weird stipulation. Commentary didn't do a good job explaining the rules. (***) The Rock vs The Undertaker was a good match but, mainly served purpose for Taker and Flair's feud. (***1/4) Kurt Angle vs Triple H was another good match and had some good storytelling with Stephanie being an annoying bitch to Hunter. (***1/4) Chris Jericho vs Steve Austin isn't a great match but, its a passable main event. (***1/2) The nWo segment was good and the crowd was really behind them. Hearing the pop after Scott Hall said "Hey yo! " is amazing. A decent PPV with alright matches but, bad storytelling in a few of them."

[5.0] "Considering that it's between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania, it's a disappointing year for No Way Out. The best thing of the event is the New World Order with some good promos and face-offs backstage. Most of the matches end with run-in or a cheap finish. Triple H vs Kurt Angle is flawed but those things, Chris Jericho vs Steve Austin isn't as great as a main event. The rest of the card is okay, without any issues. I think it could have been a much better event."
