[8.0] "For an event that didn't look the best on paper, Defiant nailed this one. The opening match was a good way to start the show and ease in the audience. Dunne is solid in the ring and Omari is pretty good for a guy his size, but he just lacks personality. Good thing Dunne retained. Second match was the namesake of the event, which is interesting considering I expected it to be a little later during the show. Yet, it didn't exactly have the star power of last year's Magnificent 7 match. Match itself was great and had plenty of fun moments. Benji and Renshaw had good showings and the alliance between the AFP and MJF was clever for the most part. Drake being eliminated was a surprise as I would have thought he'd be in the last two, but Benji winning was awesome and propels the young wrestler to bigger things. Joe Hendry vs Gabriel Kidd started off as a slow, methodical wrestling match, and continued at that pace for the most part. I enjoyed this match as it was two guys trying to out-wrestle one another. The Internet title match was another good showcase of two of the top stars in Defiant. Nicely paced and good ring psychology. Klinger vs Sysum was a good encounter, hard hitting for the most part with a cool but slightly weak finish. Klinger's entrance attire was fantastic. The aftermath was definitely interesting. Triple threat women's match was good, considering the women's champ Kanji couldn't compete and got replaced. Decent action with a surprising result. Main event was a very good match that played to both men's strengths. The only issue is the lack of build for the match, as there was no depth to the story being told and it felt like a random main event thrown together, with 1-2 segments of prior build up. Coyle choking out the referee just perfects his character. Yet... no one saw Rampage actually losing the match... I don't have the words here. Damn. Can't wait to see where this goes."
