I want to note the junior match, which showed a pretty good match, which I honestly did not expect from Taguchi. Well, the main, beyond all praise, did not seem to start so cool, but in the end they gave out a real spectacle, a little, quite a drop did not reach 5*."

While I'm still not completely sure what to make of White as champion, his win vs. Tanahashi in the main was easily the best match I've seen from him to date, as well it should be. Okada vs. Fale was a fine match with its only real crime being that we've seen it plenty of times before; Ishimori vs. Taguchi was great, and as per usual there was some good action in the preliminary tag matches. I would say that NJPW still hasn't quite emerged from their post-Elite funk, but there's still plenty to like on their events all the same."

White/Tanahashi ****1/4 good match good storytelling and definitely a shock to me but happy for White and hopefully he will be the star they want"

Pretty good. This was pretty much every match these 2 have, but it usually works. Main Event: ****1/8. I'm surprised by the finish, but it was a great match. Very good show."

[6.0] "I think that NJPW will undergo the weight of having no more "The Elite" in their roster. Now, I don't know how will work the creation of All Elite Wrestling but if Cody, Young Bucks & Omega will no more perform in New Japan it will be a serious lost for the company, and this new year and this show is proving it.. I am not a big Mark of NJPW I am a loyal WWE Mark, but indipendently of it for hour and half in tag team matches was bad, really really bad. Opener was bad, also Guerrilla's of destiny match was bad, only good tag team match was Naito's one. The three singles matches has been good/great. Ishimori vs taguchi has been great, great psicology , great reversals and falls finish. Okada vs Bad luck has been not bad, a good way to relaunch The Rainmaker in the big scene. I personally am not a big fan of Bad luck as worker, he is not a easy guy I think to work with but overall Okada made him look great with some amazing spots as the superplex from the Top Rope. The main event was amazing, Masterpiece in psicology, storytelling and I would never thought they decided to take off Tanahashi the title and gave it to White, after the incredible, unbelivable match Tana had with Omega at Tokyo Dome. I think that White ascension to the top has been a little hasty but is a great way from NJPW to spread the message that a new erais coming. The incredible fact is that in my opinion Jay dominated The Ace that seemed an old man with a broken knee; except for the finish in which Tana fougt with everything he had the rest of the match was all about White. It should have been incredible if White would have made tana tap out with the TTO. Only one thing to say left, if we see NXT for example in which we have never a "Double" in matches series, in NJPW events the lack of workers makes matches much the same and the titles contenders are lways that 3/4 faces."

[8.0] "Best of the three new beginning shows this year, as all three marquee matches delivered to varying degrees for me. Also preferred this shows undercard, as the LIJ six man tag was a lot of fun and it was cool to see Ibushi announce his return. Wasn't completely surprised by the result of the main event, as the build seemed to point towards a Jay White win, but I am however intrigued to see where NJPW goes from here."

Tama Tonga is getting more aggressive after he end his nice guy act. Ishimori vs Taguchi is a good match. Taguchi is really good if he got the spotlight. Okada vs Fale is not bad. White vs Tanahshi is a very good match. Overall this is good show with memorable moment at the end of the show."
