[8.0] "This PPV is pretty much a show where only one match truly made it special, but damn was it an amazing match. The six man Hell in a Cell match was every bit as chaotic to watch as it promised to be and it also felt huge the way they built it up all show with the interview segments to really put over how dangerous this match was going to be. My favorite was probably the Undertaker going over his famous matches with HBK and Foley and they use black and white footage to go with it. The WWF production in segments like that one was just unmatched even today in my opinion. Rikishi ends up falling off the cell, the match goes absolutely everywhere you can think of everyone bleeds like a sive and somehow Angle survives with the title. The undercard was nothing stand out, but was still mostly decent. Benoit v Gunn and the 6 person tag was probably the best undercard matches in my opinion. The DVD of the event still has the 'Sweet Home Alabama' song, which is synonymous with this event in my opinion."
[6.0] "One of the clearest examples of PPV that has one stand out match. The Hell in a Cell is why this PPV has any notoriety. Other slight highlights are the four way tag match, which is fun and has some moments. The ending of the Jericho/Kane Last Man Standing match and Billy Gunn putting in a decent showing against Benoit. Nothing however matches the greatness, and the fun carnage of the Hell in a Cell. The moment that is known by all, even those who have not seen this show is the Rikishi one.. but this match is so much more than just that. The brawling, the brutality, the chaos. This is what makes this one of the most memorable cell matches of all times. There is also some very skippable matches here. The women's triple threat is barely given a minute. Whilst Chyna/Val Venis goes too long. The opening six-person tag match is fine, as is Regal/Holly. Pure Attitude Era certified in the main event."

The two title changes were solid but for the most part this really felt like a one match show, so thankfully it really delivered. Rikishi falling from the top of the cell was absolutely the spot of the night and looked amazing. 3 star show at most."
[7.0] "A one match show, with an undercard that suffered from the fact but somehow wasn't actually worse than usual for the era. Most of the matches were actually quite alright. The opener is pretty rushed for an elimination match but had solid action. Jericho and Kane would've worked better as a Falls Count Anywhere instead of LMS but still was on par with their other matches. The tag title match was enjoyable, with K Kwik being an unexpected highlight. Benoit and Billy Gunn have a solid little bout too apart from one botch. Regal and Holly is much better than their survivor series match even being so short and having a weird interference spot. Even the Woman's three way is probably as good as it could be in just a minute and a half (they totally should've gotten more time though) the only match that I wasn't feeling at all was Venis vs Chyna but it isn't terrible. However, the Important thing was the cell match. The build all across the night towards it was really well done. McMahon's in ring promo asking the crowd to leave so such a destructive match doesn't happen, Taker's promo recalling previous cell matches, the short interview with HBK over at WWF New York, Triple H's fiery backstage promo with Steph, JR's interview with Austin and Rock's promo all sold the danger and the stakes perfectly. And what's more important the match delivered on being wild fun with multiple good near fall, nice brawling (in and out of the cell) and of course the iconic truck that Rikishi gets pushed onto. All that is enough to carry the shows grade up a notch Match Ratings: Radicalz vs Team Extreme (6/10) Holly vs Regal (5/10) Chyna vs Venis (4/10) Y2J vs Kane (6/10) Tag Title Four Way (6/10) Women's Triple Threat (4/10) Armageddon Cell (9/10)"
[5.0] "This show really struggled to keep my attention at all, and there was nothing that was specifically terrible - it just kinda mostly blended together as a bunch of mediocre matches that felt difficult to keep watching. The main event is clearly the strongest one here, it's fun and was able to keep me engaged, but I'm nowhere near as high on it as the majority. It's pretty good to me and that's about as far as I can go."
[6.0] "This pay-per-view was a mixed bag overall, but more enjoyable than it was boring. A few solid, enjoyable matches in the under card such as the opener and Kane/Jericho, a few less than spectacular ones bring the show's quality down a bit such as Venis/Chyna, Gunn/Benoit and a disappointingly short Women's Championship three way. Regal/Holly was not a great match but was better than one may expect and the World Tag Team Championship fatal four way was not horrible but desperately felt as if it was missing something. However, this show is very fondly remembered for its main event six-way Hell in a Cell match for the WWF Championship, which is one of the best main events of the Attitude Era and is enough to make the show great on its quality alone. This was a meh closer to the WWF's run of pay-per-views in 2000, but it has enough good matches to be looked back upon fondly."
[6.0] "I absolutely loved how they built up the hype for the main event throughout the whole show and because of that it felt huge when it happened. But starting from the beginning: the opener involved The Radicalz so it had to be at least good, Regal vs Holly was decent, but with a lazy finish and Venis vs Chyna wasn't anything special. Jericho and Kane delivered my favourite match out of their trilogy, Four Way Tag Match was a pleasant surprise with Dudleys rocking the house and Benoit vs Gunn wasn't bad, but suffered from Billy's watered down version of himself. And the main event was fantastic and even though it's a multiman garbage match the star power carried the whole thing and the hype around it made it work. The blood added a lot, Rikishi took a phenomenal bump and the fans were really invested. Good PPV with the main event bringing exactly what it promised."

"Level of half of matches is a level of matches on weekly TV shows. We have the opener with great performers as Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Jeff and Matt Hardy but also we have godless booking of WWE and as result - real passer. About matches of William Regal and Hardcore Holly, Chyna and Val Venis, and women's triple threat - don't want to talk: trash. Not bad is last man standing match of Jericho and Kane with good and logical result. 4-way tag also not bad, the same is about single of Benoit and Gunn. Everything is a level of weekly TV show. And the main event. An absolutely overrated match that was conceived as a classic but in reality looks like an inept development of a poorly written scenario: 1) why did everyone climb onto the cage and then some of them climbed down without doing anything? 2) why did everyone have to go to these machines to fight? 3) the entrance of the car with sawdust before Rikishi fell into it looked like a spit in the face of the viewer for me. It can be seen that the bookers did not approach the match seriously and such a spectacle can only be used by an absolutely unthinking viewer."

Klar sechs der größten Stars der Attitude-Ära in einem Match und dann auch noch Hell in a Cell, das zog damals auch bei mir. Aber beim Wiederanschauen fällt dann doch auf, dass bis auf den großen Spot mit Rikishi am Ende eigentlich im Match nicht viel passiert. Zudem ist die Undercard letztendlich auch nur interessantes Beiwerk, allerdings auf durchaus ansehnlichem Niveau. Erinnert ein bißchen an Uncensored 1996, allerdings mit dem Unterschied, dass der Main Event dann eben doch nicht ins Katastrophale abdriftet, sondern ein durchschnittliches Multi-Men-Match ist."
[8.0] "Armageddon 2000 is a one match show, but that one match is why you watch this PPV. The undercard is decent, and it doesn't feel like it drags. The opener is fun, and the Last Man Standing match has it's moments. It also feels like WWF are developing storylines here that will eventually culminate in the first half of 2001. That said this is all about the WWF World Heavyweight Title Six Way Hell In A Cell Match which is my second favourite Hell in a Cell match, since I think Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker is the greatest Hell in a Cell match WWE have ever done. The amount of great stuff in the main event makes this show feel better than it actually is, and the hype up to the main event during the event makes Armageddon 2000 have some importance to it."
[7.0] "This is the definition of a one-match show, but the one match was fantastic. The Armageddon Hell in a Cell match is still iconic 21 years later and is a contender for the most star-studded match in wrestling history. They built up the brutality of the cell throughout the night, and while the psychology of the match wasn't as solid as previous HIAC matches the sheer amount of carnage and innovative spots more than made up for it and the competitors did a great job making the match feel consequential. It's a good thing the main event was worth the price of admission by itself since the rest of the card didn't feel much different than what you can see on Raw every week. The only other PPV quality matches were the opening elimination tag (hard to mess up given the work rate of the performers) and the Jericho-Kane street fight which was a solid blowoff to a forgettable feud. Building 3 matches around Right to Censor didn't really interest me, the IC Title match was below what you would expect from both guys, and the European Title match was just kind of there. Still, the undercard was solid enough on the whole that the amazing main event combined with a great atmosphere (the Birmingham crowd was hot all night) makes this an above average PPV offering."
[6.0] "Ich kann mich noch daran erinnern, dass ich kurz vor diesem PPV anfangen wollte regelmäßig, also jede Woche WWF zu schauen (so wie ich damals jede Woche Nitro auf DSF schaute), da ich herausfand, dass Smackdown damals auf TM3 lief. Ich kann mich sogar noch ein klein wenig an den Aufbau zu dieser Show erinnern, jedoch habe ich den PPV bis heute nie gesehen, was ich jetzt mal ändern wollte. Natürlich kann man 20 Jahre später so eine Show mit ganz anderen Augen sehen. Da man weiß, wie sich vieles entwickelt hat, ist man in den Storys natürlich emotional nicht so investiert, da es nunmal vor 20 Jahren war, allerdings habe ich dafür immer die Nostalgie-Brille, mit der man auch mal über bestimmte Dinge hinwegsehen kann. Angenehm ist bei alten Shows bis ca. 2000, dass das Internet noch nicht so groß war und die Fans daher viel mehr das kaufen, was man ihnen vorsetzt. Faces bekommen viel mehr Zuspruch und Heel werden stärker ausgebuht, zumindest kommt mir das oftmals so vor. Mit 8 Matches in 2:42 bekommt hier nicht alles ausreichend Zeit und einiges ist ziemlich kurz, da auch der Fokus auf dem Main Event liegt. Vom Gefühl her auf jeden Fall ein Hell in a Cell Match, welches in die damaligen Storys passte und durch die ganzen Highlights und Interviews hat man hier gut Hype aufgebaut. Opener ist sehr kurz für ein Elimination Match, war dennoch in Ordnung, die Hardys noch jung und fit. Richtig nervig war hier Jerry Lawler, der die ganze Zeit nur davon redet, dass Lita ihre Hose ausziehen soll und generell bei Frauen nur am sabbern ist. William Regal kommt dann heraus und hält eine kurze Promo, um die Fans heiß zu machen, welche dann auch für Holly richtig Lärm machen. Match wieder sehr kurz aber trotzdem solide. Val Venis vs. Chyna auch kurz aber auch solide, wenngleich bei den kurzen Matchzeiten die wirkliche Bedeutung nicht ganz ankommt. Jericho und Kane damals in guter Form, Kane noch richtig beweglich für seine Verhältnisse, ganz nettes Last Man Standing Match, ohne aber herauszustechen. Das Tag Team Title Match war irgendwie cool. Nicht weil es besonders gut war aber ich konnte mich noch an das Segment mit RTC und den Dudleys erinnern, Sprichwort Nostalgie. Die Dudleys kommen dann noch mit der Oldschool WWF-Musik raus und ich hatte Bock drauf. Match war in Ordnung und die Fans stehen voll hinter den Dudleys. Billy Gunn vs. Benoit auch solide aber nicht mehr. Das Womens Title Match mit weniger als 2 Minuten war natürlich nichts. Der Main Event ist sehr gut gealtert und zurecht ein Klassiker. Auch nach heutigen Maßstäben ist das Match immer noch gut. In den Tauschbörsen zu jener Zeit, gab es unzählige Clips von diesem Match, weshalb man einige Szenen quasi auswendig kennt. Insgesamt hatte ich großen Spaß mit dieser Show, auch wenn die Matches bis auf den Main Event und mit Abstrichen Kane vs. Jericho gar nicht so gut sind aber es zeigt irgendwie auch, dass man nicht immer Epicness braucht."

[6.0] "Das Elimination Tag Match ist lange Zeit temporeich, dann jedoch mit einem langsamen Story-Finish und daher insgesamt als Opener ungeeignet. Die beiden folgenden Matches, wie auch das Damen Match vor dem Mainer sind reine Filler. Jericho und Kane zeigen dann einen ordentlichen Brawl in Form eines LMS-Matches, welches aber eindeutig mit angezogener Handbremse durchgeführt wird, um dem Mainer nicht die Show zu stehlen. Das Tag Team Match war temporeich, bot naturgemäß wenig Tiefgang. Billy Gunn gegen Chris Benoit war sehr einseitig und in der Schlussphase gibt es einen klaren Botch, da macht auch das gute Bodypartwork nicht viel wett. Das HiaC-Match entschädigt dann für Vieles an dieser Show. Angle ist der richtige Sieger, wird hiermit weiter an die Spitze gepusht. Alles rund um Foley & Vince muss man im Kontext der Attitude Era sehen und funktioniert hier nunmal. Der lange Brawl auf dem Dach der Konstruktion, Rikishi`s Spot sowie die Schlussphase sind in meinen Augen Highlights der WWE Geschichte. Eine eindeutige One-Match Show, von der man bis auf das HiaC Match jedoch nichts gesehen haben muss. Die ersten knapp 2 Stunden der Show waren nicht per se schlecht, aber insgesamt recht langweilig."

Der Opener hat Spaß gemacht fand ich gut. Danach kam das Regal Match und das war bis jetzt das beste Regal Match im Jahr 2000 bis jetzt. Das liegt aber daran das die anderen Matches noch schlechter waren wie das. Dieses Match war noch solide. Aber danach kam Chyna vs Val Venis und das fand ich einfach nur schrecklich. Ich mag Chyna nicht und ich mag Right to Censor nicht, weswegen das Match für mich das schlechte Match des Abends war. Das Last Man Standing Match war viel zu lange und es ist einfach lange nichts passiert. Die End fase war gut. Verstehe die Fehde aber überhaupt nicht und die Chemie passt auch irgendwie nicht bei den beiden. Danach kam der Four Way Dance was dann wieder sehr viel Spaß gemacht hat. War ein kleiner Spotfest. Danach gab es Chris Benoit vs Billy Gunn und das war naja. Hab nichts erwartet vom Match hab aber gutes Wrestling bekommen was an Chris Benoit lag der für mich der Beste Wrestler in der WWF in der Zeit war. Aber es gab ein sehr schlimmen Botch wo sehr schlimm aussah und einfach nur peinlich war für die beiden. Danach gab es das Six Way Hell In A Cell Match. Es war sehr gut aber zu lange. Ansonsten brauch ich nichts dazu zu sagen. Muss man sich angucken, weil es ein guter Abschluss im Jahr 2000 ist."
[7.0] "1. Der Opener war solide Kost. Die ersten Eliminierungen gingen mir aber etwas zu schnell. (2 1/4*) 2. Regal gegen Holly auf ähnlichen Niveau. Einen Sieg Hollys konnte man ausschließen. Trotzdem war überrascht wie gut Holly ankam. (2 1/4*) 3. Venis gegen Chyna konnte man als Pinkelpause nutzen. Chyna war hier eindeutig auf dem absteigenden Ast. (1 1/4*) 4. Jericho gegen Kane war in Ordnung, konnte aber nicht an Y2Js LMS gegen HHH in diesem Jahr rankommen. Das Finish mit den Fässern fand ich Innovativ. (3*) 5. Das Fatal 4 TT Title Match war solide. (2 1/2*) 6. Benoit gegen Gunn ähnlich. Gunn botcht doch den ein oder anderen Move. (2 3/4*) 7. Triple Threat war mir zu kurz. (o. W. ) 8. ME siehe Guide."
[7.0] "Sehr gelungenes Einstiegsintro. Opener geht direkt gut los, Aufbau ist logisch mit Malenko und Lita im Finale. Nur war mir Malenko am Ende zu dominierend (*** 1/4). Regal vs. Hardcore Holly: Okayes Match, schlechtes Finish und zu kurz (** 1/4). Chyna vs. Val Venis wusste nicht so ganz zu überzeugen (* 1/4). Das Segment mit dem Undertaker und dem Review auf seine HiaC History ist sehr gut. McMahon Segment war ganz okay. Kane/Y2J Promo ebenfalls ganz okay. Kane vs. Y2J war sehr solide mit sehr geilem Finish (*** 1/2). Tag Team Title Match war gut mit einem sinnvollen Aufbau und einem guten Matchfokus. Die Dudley Boyz und Edge & Christian sind einfach klasse (***). Die HiaC Einblicke immer sind echt unterhaltend. Gunn vs. Benoit war okay, mehr kann man dazu eigentlich nicht sagen. War halt nicht speziell und die Crowd war auch relativ tot bei dem Match (** 3/4). Beim Womens Title Match war das was gezeigt wurde sogar ganz gut, nur halt viel viel zu kurz (* 1/4). Die vielen Interviews für das HiaC Match sind ebenfalls passend. ME Promo sehr gut. Das 6 Man Hell in a Cell Match war göttlich. Absolute Aggression, sehr viele Spots, der Undertaker sorgt wieder für einen riesen großen Spot, Triple H ebenfalls mit dem Pedigree auf dem Autodach. Pure Spannung und allgemein absolute Zerstörung. Die Schlussphase ist eine Klasse für sich. Mehr als awesome kann man dazu nicht sagen (**** 3/4). Insgesamt kommt der PPV bei mir auf 7, 31 von 10 Punkten - "sehr solide"."
[8.0] "Guter PPV-Abschluss eines saustarken Jahrgangs mit einem großartigen 6 Men Hell In A Cell-Match im Main Event. Der Opener war ein gutes Match, das Spaß gemacht hat und mit dem Fokus auf Lita und Dean Malenko im Finish überzeugt. Das European Title Match war uninteressant, aber kurz gehalten. Dasselbe gilt auch für das nachfolgende Match, wobei mich Chyna mittlerweile doch sehr nervt. Das Last Man Standing Match zwischen Jericho und Kane war überraschend stark und endlich konnte Jericho auch einen Sieg über Kane erringen. Das Finish war auch noch gut umgesetzt. Das Tag Team Title Match hat mir ebenfalls gefallen, die Dudleys waren im Fokus und mit E&C hat das unterhaltsamste Tag Team des Jahres glücklicherweise die Gürtel wieder. Eine runde Sache insgesamt. Gunn-Benoit war gut, ein technisch geführtes Match mit dem richtigen Sieger. Das Triple Threat Match war so etwas wie ein kleiner Einstieg für Trish in eigene PPV-Matches, das Aftermath sorgt zudem ohne viel Aufwand für neu gestartete Midcard-Fehden. Absolutes Highlight des Abends ist ohne Frage der hochkarätig besetzte Main Event. Eine großartige Schlacht, in der clevererweise die ganze Arena inkl. Zellendach ausgenutzt wird und der Wrestler des Jahres triumphiert. Das war ganz wichtig für das Standing des Medaillengewinners. Dazu der schöne Bump von Rikishi und das umkämpfte Finish. Hut ab demnach für alle Beteiligten, ein würdiger Abschluss des Abschluss-Events des PPV-Jahres!"

Benoit, Edge/Christian oder Jericho hatten nur durchschnittliche Matches. Selbst meine Radicalz konnten kein überragendes Match liefern. Also für mich einer der Schwächsten PPV´s in einem ansonsten starken Wrestling Jahr"

Einzig Chyna gegen Val Venis, das European Titel Match und vorallem das sehr schwache Damen-Match fallen etwas ab. Hauptproblem ist der overratete Main-Event, der eine höhere Wertung verhindert. Er hat zwar eine unglaubliche Starpower, ist aber leider nur ein solider Brawl mit einem spektakulären Bump. Mehr nicht und daher gibt es solide 7 Punkte für Armageddon."

[7.0] "Tatsächlich ein recht guter PPV und ich bin froh, ihn mir endlich angesehen zu haben. Ein irgendwie cooler Opener, der zwar nicht gut gebookt ist, aber immerhin spaß macht beginnt die Show 5/10. Danach folgt mit Regal vs. Holly ein Kampf, der eigentlich großes Potenzial hätte, aber aufgrund einer Storyline schnell endete 4/10. Y2J vs. Kane ist clever gemacht, Kane dominiert natürlich große Teile, aber der Außenseiter Jericho kommt immer wieder zurück. Finish ist absolut cool weil es logisch gemacht ist 6/10. Das Tag Team Match kann auch gefallen, weil jeder seine "Minutes of Fame" bekommt und zeigen kann was er drauf hat 6/10, vor allem ist es aus heutiger Sicht cool, Moves zu sehen die damals standard waren, aber heute kaum gesehen sind. Benoit und Gunn wrestlen ein technisch solides Match mit gutem Bodypartwork von Benoit, aber leider einem Up-Fuck Finish 6/10. Zum Mainer mehr im Guide. Insgesamt hat mir der Abend wirklich gefallen, allerdings hätte ich noch ein Highlight mehr gebraucht für eine höhere Wertung, 7 Punkte."
[6.0] "Wenn man von Armageddon 2000 spricht, dann spricht man automatisch von Armageddon Hell in a Cell. Und weil dieses Match so einzigartig und überragend war, wird dieser Event ebenfalls so bezeichnet. Und das ist falsch. In der Undercard wurde maximal Durchschnitt erreicht (Opener, Tag Team Championship und Intercontinental Championship), teilweise war es aber schon grausam (Womens Championship, Chyna vs. Venis, European Championship). Last Man Standing wusste zwar zu überzeugen, die Geschichte gefiel, das Booking passte. Aber am Ende wurde der für 2000er WWE-Verhältnisse erschreckend schwache PPV noch von einem Megamatch gerettet."
[6.0] "Da ist in der Under- und MidCard einfach zuviel Gemurkse, um das mit einem tollen MainEvent wieder kompensieren zu können. Nichts gegen angestrebte One-Match Veranstaltungen, aber die anderen Partien dürfen nicht einschläfernd wirken, wie z. B. eine Malenko-Lita Pseudo-Affäre, ein lahmes European Titelmatch, ein weiteres Chyna Match, ein arg konstruiertes LMS-Match (was nicht die nötigen Spots zeigen darf, um die Qualität des MainEvents nicht zu gefährden), ein überhastetes Four-Cornes-Tag, ein "Billy-Gunn-gleich-zero-reactions-Match" (der noch dazu konditionell keine 10 Minuten gehen kann, siehe Matchverlauf) oder ein 2-Minuten Damen-Triple-Threat ... die letzten 35 Minuten schauen und man hat die Veranstaltung sauber und gut im Gedächtnis - ansonsten (so wie ich) eben nicht."
[8.0] "Ein guter PPV zum Jahresabschluss. Alles lastete natürlich auf den Main Event. Ein sehr gutes und langes Match mit vielen Aktionen und einem überraschenden Sieger. Die übrigen Matches waren meist solide. Aber aufgrund des super Main Events gebe ich hier noch so gerade die 8 Punkte."
[6.0] "Ziemliche One-Match Show. Bis auf den Main Event gabs fast nur Durchschnitt. Auch das LMS war über weite Strecken langweilig. Nichts wirklich schlechtes auf der Card - solider PPV."
[10.0] "Ich fand das Last Man Standing Match Zwischen Jericho und Kane sehr gut, es toppte nur der Main Event der war klasse, das dann der Undertaker Rikishi vom Cell Slamte war hammer"
[6.0] "Der Main Event war natürlich sehr stark, allerdings ließen dafür die anderen Matches doch eher zu wünschen übrig, sodass es am Ende "nur" 6 Punkte für Armageddon 2000 von mir gibt."
[6.0] "Totale One-Match Show. Der Main Event war stark (oder sagen wir mal: Sehr unterhaltsam), der Rest der Show eher nicht. Insgesamt eine wacklige Drei."
[8.0] "Sehr viel besser als die Survivor Series des Vormonats, da hier erneut die Matches mehr Bedeutung zu haben schienen als bei dem eigentlich Prestige trächtigeren Big-5-PPV. Der Opener und Jericho-Kane sind gute Matches, der Rest entweder okay oder wenigstens kurz. Der Main Event ist ein tolles Fest und tatsächlich eines meiner Lieblings-HIAC-Matches, da immer was los ist und jeder Wrestler seine Five Minutes Of Fame bekommt. Angle holte sich mit dem Sieg sehr wichtige Glaubwürdigkeit."
[10.0] "Meine persönliche Lieblingsgroßveranstaltung: jedes Match war einfach nur zum Genießen! Das Hell in a Cell Match setzte dem PPV dann noch die Krone auf!"
