[3.0] "Outside of the first King of the Ring, this PPV never delivered anything of substance. Austin was out after neck surgery, so they loaded up the main event with all of their remaining stars following Foley's retirement. King of the Ring was just a terrible PPV every year (1993 is the only exception)."

[5.0] "This was a disappointing show for me. The main event was okay, but it's just kinda forgettable which is disappointing considering it was a title change. Kurt Angle was a strong King of the Ring winner and his match with Jericho was easily the match of the night but it's a shame that the tournament itself was booked like an afterthought despite having a really strong roster for it. There was just too many matches happening so a lot of it was rushed. It was a bit of an average show for me overall where there was a few decent matches here or there and the Tag Team Title match was a lot of fun to watch with a fairly enjoyable Table/Dumpster match in there as well, but unfortunately this show also had one of the very worst PPV matches of all time with that horrible Hardcore Title in drag match. The less said about that one the better. This was one of the rare misses for a WWF PPV in 2000."

[4.0] "Not much to say about this show really, the King of the Ring tournament is rushed and wastes a lot of potential, the best matches on the card are just alright and theres some wonky stipulations sprinkled throughout. There's only one really dreadful match and its quite short so I won't go lower than a 4 but theres really nothing here to go out and rewatch Match Ratings: Rikishi vs Benoit (3/10) Val Venis vs Eddie Guerrero (5/10) Crash Holly vs Bull Buchanan (3/10) Chris Jericho vs Kurt Angle (6/10) Tag Title Match (6/10) Rikishi vs Val Venis (3/10) Kurt Angle vs Crash Holly (4/10) Pat Patterson vs. Gerald Brisco (0/10) Dudleys vs DX (4/10) Angle vs Rikishi (4/10) World title Six man (4/10)"

[5.0] "The King Of The Ring Tournament itself is very lackluster and outside of the finish in the final matchup the rest is pretty forgettable with multiple interference finishes. Kurt is well on his way and though this nod was a good move, he is already super over here with the crowd. Crash Holly getting the Hardcore Title back after Brisco & Patterson match was one of the biggest pops of the night and either the main event or Eddie Guerrero vs. Val Venis for my money is the match of the night. Shane McMahon getting Chokeslammed from the top rope through an announce table looks amazing and is definitely the spot of the night. 3 star show at best."

[3.0] "I hate King of the Ring at this point. They don't put any effort into the actual tournament, so as a result we have cold, very short matches and always a disappointing final. I'm glad that Kurt won, but it didn't evel feel like a big thing. His match against Jericho was good though, but all other tournament bouts were meh or barely even happened. The Tag Titles match was also alright, but I wish that they stopped doing these multiple team matches and focused on some 2v2 programs. Other than that the Dumpster Match was a chaos and Patterson vs Brisco is something I wish was erased from my memory. And then the main event wasn't awful, but they stopped caring about tags in the middle of the match, plus the booking was questionable. Why do you make your babyface lose a title in the Iron Man Match and then have him win it back by pinning a non-wrestler? It only puts the heel over. So overall it's not even that bad of a show, but it's soooo boring. Nothing happens, the tournament doesn't matter, and the main event doesn't help at all."

[2.0] "The first hour of this show was okay, and the final hour was fine. But my god was the middle hour atrocious - two pathetically short and boring semi-final matches followed by a Hardcore match that was completely embarrassing. That middle hour is enough to sink this show for me as it just didn't have enough good parts to cover it."

[4.0] "A bellow average show. The KOTR tournment was alright, even if it feels like a missed oportunity given how stacked it was. The wrestlers were given little time and the booking was underwhelming. Hardcore match really is as bad as everyone says (so bad that even an attitude era crowd starts chanting "boring" and begging for it to end). Main event was absolutely forgettable. Not bad, but not good either. I feel like the concept of Rock, Kane and Undertaker fighting between eachother was interesting, but the delivery was bad. Rest of the show doesn't compensate for the bad stuff."

[4.0] "Pretty much the end of the WWF's 2000 ppv season hot streak here. This show had one of the best KOTR tournament line ups ever and as usual, the tournament was rushed to hell with some crappy overbooking ruining some good matches. Patterson/Brisco was possilby the most atrocious PPV "match" of the year next to the Women's match at Mania 16 and there was a little too much under card shlock eating up valuable PPV time that could have gone to the tournament matches. Main event wasn't anything to write home about either! Still, the WWF's worst PPV of the year so far was still TWICE as good as WCW's PPV's!"

[4.0] "Compared to other PPV we've gotten so far this year this was by far the weakest, even compared to a disappointing WrestleMania. The matches here aren't bad besides the Patterson vs Brisco match which thankfully didn't go any longer. Angle/Jericho was the best match of the night but it was nothing more than fine. Rock winning the title is great but his win felt off since he pinned Vince to win the title instead of Triple H."

[4.0] "This was.... a weird show. A 2000 PPV hot streak ended slap bang here at KOTR because of so many factors: Benoit/Eddie getting eliminated in the Quarters (Just IMAGINE Benoit/Guerrero in the Semis, and if Saturn advanced past the bloody First Round and to the Semis, Saturn/Angle could've been been a hidden gem), a silly stipulation in the main event leading to silly squabbling between Rock/Taker/Kane when a Fatal 4 Way with HHH would've sufficed and saved us a silly match, DX going over the Dudleys and a MONSTROSITY of a match between two old geezers in drag because Vince is a strange man with strange fetishes. Venis/Guerrero (***), Angle/Jericho (***1/4) and the Tag Title match (**3/4) are the only saving graces here, with DX/Dudleys getting pretty entertaining near the end too (but that finish is stupid). The KOTR matches are at least better than '99's effort (because THAT 2000 roster amirite lads) but it still says a lot when the best matches are in the Quarters round. The main event is pretty tame save for a brutal Shane table spot and a hilarious botch forcing Rock to kick out of a pedigree because Taker couldn't move to the ring fast enough. (*3/4) Also was Vince even the legal man at the end? Ah, nevermind, I just remembered Patterson/Brisco was a thing again. Excuse me while I wash my eyes with bleach."

Kurt Angle was the only one in the tournament to have a chance. Patterson vs Briscoe is one of the worst angles in history. The main event is the only match that is really worth to be watched. Enjoyable and with a big surprise at the end."

[7.0] "This event is underrated although not the best ppv of the year. The main event was very good even if the booking was strange but the story behind it was interesting and made sense. The tournament itself was fairly good with one of the better winners of the KOTR history. The dumpster table match was fun to watch too and 4 corner tag team team match was good. The evening gown match was horrendous though, absolutely unwatchable (thankfully Crash Holly comes in)."
