[7.0] "Great event, No Mercy 1999 makes a great job on the matches it had like the ladder match of Edge, Christian and the Hardy, then Chyna winning for the first time a men's title, Hollys vs New Age Outlaws, and besides something like Moolah winning the Women's title. 7/10"

[4.0] "This was an improvement over the previous month's Unforgiven, but I still struggle to call this a good show. Godfather vs. Mideon is terrible and is built off a throwaway segment on the go-home SmackDown. Moolah wins the Women's title for some reason. Outlaws have another formulaic match that isn't for the Tag Titles because the Hollys inexplicably interfered on their defense on the go-home SmackDown to make them lose them. Chyna wins the Intercontinental title in a decent match with an unnecessarily convoluted finish. Rock defeats a way past it Bulldog. The Hardys defeat Edge & Christian in a decently fun match. They have Venis go over Mick Foley in a pay-per-view match, for some reason. X-Pac wins a nothing 4-way elimination match. Austin and Triple H put on a decent at best main event."

[6.0] "Not the best show, but better than Unforgiven a month prior. Austin/HHH had a good main event. The ladder match has aged like wine. It was the best match of the night. Good brawling part of the match, but the in-ring stuff was lacking."

"6/10 Just recently rewatched this show while working and its a mixed bag of a PPV, like many others have said its just an alright Attitude Era PPV, the only matches worth watching to me are The Hollys v New Age Outlaws the DQ finish is weak but still a good match overall, Jarret v Chyna for the IC title in the good house keeping match was fun for what it was, the match type was silly happy for Chyna being the new IC champ, the best match of the night however is Edge & Christian v The New Brood of Matt and Jeff Hardy for the Terri Reynolds Invitational ladder match its one of the teams better ladder matches and hearing King and JR good back and forth about the Terri Invitational Tournament (T.I.T) sure its a tad classless nowadays but it was fun to relisten too. Rock v Bulldog is a major skip of a match, same with Val Venis v Mankind, the 4 way match with Kane, X-Pac, Bradshaw and Faarooq was good for what it was but nothing to go out of your way to watch. Triple H v Stone Cold was good for one of there matches, its nothing you haven't seen before and its an alright end to the night but not one of there matches id stick around to watch again."

[5.0] "This is a true mixed bag of a PPV, and it's held up very, very heavily by the main event and the ladder match. You could also call this show the end of the 'peak' of the Austin-era. After this show, he'd be out of action for about half a year, and when he came back, he'd still be top dog, but there'd be a LOT of other people who rose up to divide the audience a bit more. The show is never dreadful outside of those two matches, but there is very, very little worth coming back here to see outside of those two as well. It's certainly a watchable PPV in its entirely, but not one I'd recommend. Essentially, I think this show will get lots of visits for the ladder match, and maybe people who will sit through the whole event for it, but I can't see many people specifically turning this show on for the entire spectacle."

[8.0] "This had a bit of a mixed undercard, but overall this was the best WWF PPV in 1999 because it was elevated by 3 strong matches. The main Austin v Triple H main event was an all out war for 20 minutes straight, The Hardys and Edge and Christian became household names in the WWF on this show because of the outstanding ladder match they had and this was also the show where Chyna became the first and only female Intercontinental Champion ever in a very entertaining match with Jeff Jarrett. All of those match are must see in my opinion. Other than that the undercard was fairly average with Mankind v Val Venis probably being the best match outside of those mentioned and the angle with The Rock where he cuts a promo and then Triple H attacks him with a sledgehammer was great as it set up the failed revenge spot at the end. The worst matches was Moolah insultingly going over Ivory to win the Women's Title and the opener was pretty bad as well."

[6.0] "One of the better PPV's WWF put out in 1999, even if it doesn't look like it from the first few matches. Godfather/Mideon is a waste of an opener. Nothing really happening and the crowd only cares for the girls (3/10) The womens title match is the worst match but at least its short Moolah got in the ring at 76 and looked every second of her age god bless Ivory for trying (0/10) Holly's vs. Outlaws is a pretty standard tag match with decent work but a weak DQ finish (5/10) Chyna vs. Jarrett despite being part of a fairly dreadful storyline, is a pretty fun match. Its a lot of brawling with plunder, but Jarrett sells exactly the way he needed to make Chyna look good (7/10) Rock/Bulldog is feels like filler despite involving a main event star. Davey Boy was way past his prime here and the Peoples Champ can only do so much (3/10) Hardys vs. E&C is by far the MOTN a very fun ladder spotfest and the first one in their series, I even enjoyed it better than the Mania 2000 tiragle ladder. Very chaotic and entertaining (9/10) Venis vs. Mankind isan average match. It has a few solid sequences here and there but the finish being so penis centric was a bit of a letdown (5/10) the Rock promo and the sunday night heat segment recap prior to it were both very fun though. The four way elimination match had an odd gimmick, since there were two tag teams wrestling eachother, but it was entertaining. Kane and Bradshaw both looked imposing while X-Pac was a great underdog here. He pulled out some good counters and I loved the spin kick he does to eliminate Kane (6/10) The Main Event is very brawl heavy as usual for the era, but it had some fun moments. The double ref bump on Chioda with the finisher exchange and the Finish with the Rock were good. The in ring action was pretty solid even with Austin being far from 100%. Good Match (7/10)"

[3.0] "After a nice change of enviroment at Rebellion we're back to typical Attitude Era garbage. There are two fine bouts here: Outlaws vs The Hollys is a decent little Tag Team Match with a great hot tag from Billy and Chyna vs Jarrett would have been trash if Jeff wasn't involved, but he made it work and the crowd loved it too. Everything else just sucks or is mid at best. Godfather vs Mideon is not a great way to open the show, Moolah vs Ivory is horrendous and Rock vs Bulldog is just forgettable. Then the Tag Team Ladder Match buries the whole stipulation making it a garbage spotfest, Venis vs Foley is a horrible comedy match and the Fatal 4 Way is alright, but I would have preferred the simple Tag Team Match instead. And the main event isn't anything new - typical Attitude Era brawl with all of its worst parts that make me just zone out. They really had no mercy on me with this show."

"Bad opener from Godfather and Mideon, Mae Young bumping her ass off helping Moolah win the Womens title from Ivory (never thought id type that), Chyna winning the IC title from Jeff Jarrett on his way out of the promotion in a Good Housekeeping match which was fun. The Rock vs British Bulldog (in the pants) have a bad match. Heres where things get good tho, as The Hardyz beat E&C in the first ever Tag Team Ladder match. This is one of the best ladder matches ive ever seen. I love old ladder matches as they always find cool and innovative ways to use the ladders, and both of these teams just put on a show. Main Event is an injured Austin vs HHH where they basically just have an Attitude Era crowd brawl match for 20 mins, which was a lot of fun but with a bit of an underwhelming finish. Pretty bad show with a complete hidden gem buried in it with the tag match and the usual fun Attitude Era chaotic main event."

[5.0] "Pretty meh ppv, only really featured two matches worth watching, the Hardyz vs Edge and Christian is always gonna be good, Austin and Triple H is always gonna be atleast decent, however the rest of this card is very meh or just straight-up terrible. I mean it just showcases how little women's wrestling is viewed at this time, you have a 100 year old women come in and beat your champ for the belt, you have a household match vs Chyna and its just building up with "women belong in the kitchen" heat. The matches that are supposed to be taken more seriously kinda suck, despite all the great names on this card, it severely underachieves, the only saving grace is the tag team ladder match, 5/10"

[5.0] "Basically a one match show - the ladder match - but with a main event that will please people who enjoy the brawling Attitude Era style. Nothing else is particularly worth watching, and several matches - especially the women's title match - were downright awful. Chyna winning the IC title was notable, as was the Jeff Jarrett situation in general, but it didn't make for great viewing."

[7.0] "This PPV was good thanks Chyna/Jarrett which was a good hardcore match that used household items, an amazing ladder match between the Hardy's, Edge, and Christian, the main event was a good brawl with a hot crowd which helped to establish HHH as a main event player. Undercard wasn't anything spectacular but it was solid with the only real negative because Moolah winning the title but it's not like that belt has real prestige anyways. Matches from best to worst: Hardy's/ Edge & Christian ****1/2, Austin/HHH ****, Chyna/Jarrett ***1/2, Mankind/Venis ***, Holly's/Outlaws **1/2, 4 way elimination **, Rock/Bulldog **, Godfather/Mideon œ*, Moolah/Ivory NR"

[7.0] "Not an awesome PPV but a very good one for Attitude era standards. Only first two matches are really terrible. Hollys/Outlaws, Rock/Bulldog, Mankind/Venis and four corners match are just decent. However there are 3 matches I need to mention: entertaining Chyna vs Jarrett, revolutionary ladder match and a very brutal brawl between Austin and Triple H."

[7.0] "This ppv was one of the best or maybe even the best in 1999 . Hhh Vs Austin was a 3, 75 star for me and the tag team match was the best"

[5.0] "Pros: - New Brood (Hardy Boyz) vs Edge and Christian (match of the night); - Triple H vs Steve Austin; - Chyna vs Jeff Jarrett; - 4-way elimination match; Cons: - The Godfather vs Mideon; - Fabulous Moolah vs Ivory; - match between Hollys and New Age Outlaws finished with a cheap DQ; - The Rock buries Davey Boy Smith; - Val Venis vs Mankind; In conclusion, No Mercy 1999 was a mediocre show which had the potential to make it much better than we actually got."

[7.0] "Definitely one of WWE's best PPV outputs in 1999, hell, maybe even their best. But still, it says a lot about 1999 when I can't even rate their best PPVs higher than a 7. Hell of a lot of filler on these shows. Case and point, why the f**k were Godfather and Mideon trusted with an opening spot? The first two matches on this show are dogs**t, so much that they lower my score from an 8 to a 7. Moolah winning the women's title in 1999 is a complete joke, and not the funny kind. Doesn't help that the match is absolutely terrible. Things start to pick up with the tag match and escalate with THAT tag ladder match, an absolute classic and already one of my new favourite matches of all time. WATCH IT NOW! Couple of forgettable matches after that (because how the hell CAN you follow that) but Mankind/Venis (sorry but wtf is that ending) and the Fatal 4 Way are decent for what they are. Luckily we end on a high with a very good Austin/HHH main event, another recommended watch, but compared to E&C vs The Hardys it pales in comparison. Still a great match though. One of the better brawl style main events around this time period."

[7.0] "The only reason to appreciate No Mercy '99 is the Ladder match between the Hardyz and Edge & Christian, the beginning of a famous series of matches in three years. The event is more than okay, Jarrett vs Chyna is good entertainment on the weird side, the Four Way elimination match works fine and the main event delivers as expected. The rest isn't really interesting at all. One of the best ppvs in 1999 and it does not mean so much."

[4.0] "Chyna winning the IC strap (brother! ) is great. The match concept was unfortunate at best and stupid at worst. It's sad now, from a historical standpoint. The Hardy Boyz vs. Edge and Christian is a seminal classic -- in a word, awesome. Definitely check that out. Other than that, the event was pretty poor. I mean, Moolah beat Ivory for the Women's title. COME ON."
