[7.0] "With the departure of the 'Strong Hearts' crew as well as now Takagi, Dragon Gate is trying to reinvent itself by positioning the majority of its younger 'super-sized' talent into a heel faction that can fight the the better-established veteran babyfaces. Considering Cima & Shingo constituted two of DG's five biggest 'heavyweight' stars, YAMATO-Mochi-Yoshino I would count (Doi is sixth, Saito seventh, and on, and on... ) as the other three, the company has done a pretty good job of things. However, I haven't been a fan of ANTIAS as a unit (and its music) as it has not struck the same cord/vibe as LIdJ has done for NJPW. As of this writing I'm only through this show, but here Eita promised more changes to the group, especially at the 'Dangerous Gate' show later in the month, so that is something I look forward to. In other news, Shun Skywalker has joined Mao of DDT as another up-and-coming gent who's had a breakout summer. He has that fluid-crispness of motion that young men who have yet to suffer their first major injury possess, and he continued to fly/impress in this outing with Willie. Mr. Mack was surprisingly quite-over at the very average Korakuen show I attended last month, but he appears to lost some of that steam and Not connecting on the coast-to-coast dropkick doesn't help matters in a federation like D Gate in which tightness and accuracy of execution is highly stressed. (Unless you're Hulk, but he is exonerated due to his longtime contributions to the company. ) Kid & Ishida continue to amuse with their wanna-be 'Maximum' antics, and are so persistent with their attempts that Doi accidentally broke kayfabe and 'revealed' Kid's identity post-match. :o) Good show... better than August's Korakuen, but weaker than July. 6. 75"
