[7.0] "This PPV was moderately good, but the Vince Russo-ness of it all hasn't aged well, except for the main event, which was utter chaos. Probably the best PPV of 1999. The undercard wasn't that great, but the last two matches saved the show."

[7.0] "I thought this was a good PPV. The first blood Taker v Austin was highly entertaining and was well built up all show after Austin evens the odds when he attacks Taker backstage and gets revenge for what happened to him on Heat. Elsewhere Triple H and The Rock have yet another good PPV match that set up a big main event push for Triple H. The show as a whole was relatively well rounded with two decent tag matches in there with The Acolytes winning back the Tag Titles against the Hardys and the DX match was also pretty solid even if the stipulation didn't end up being all that important. The weaker matches was D'lo vs Mideon and Kane vs Big Show bombed for a second straight PPV with Big Show looking noticeably sluggish."

I think it says a lot when, during an Attitude era PPV full of elite star power, I call a match between a fledging Hardy Boys and a pre-APA Acolytes the match of the night. But that's where we stand. It's clear that this show was just a stepping stone to Summerslam. While far from a bad card, I would certainly not call this one of the best events the Attitude era had to offer."

[4.0] "Better than KOTR, but still felt very boring to me. Jarrett/Edge has some decent wrestling to open up the show. It never fully gets going as it slows down a couple of times and we get a failed interference from Gangrel. Jarrett wins back the title after Edge gets distracted by tits (5/10) The tag title match is my MOTN. The Hardy's do a bunch of athletic stuff and the APA cuts them off nicely with power moves. Bradshaw clotheslines Jeff out of the air and one point. Hayes is mostly just there to take the pin (6/10) European title match is a decent showcase for D'lo nothing more (4/10) Bossman/Snow is a lot of walking and brawling without a crowd backstage, not really fun (4/10) Kane/Big Show is not a botchy mess this time, but is still a slog. Taker and X-Pac showing up is the best bit (2/10) Shamrock/Blackman looks like a scene out of Lionheart. Not much to the fight and the cars honking gets annoying (4/10) DX vs DX is a forgettable tag match (4/10) The last two matches are both fairly decent brawls and the crowd was very hot for both stories. Still Triple H/Rock is (6/10) and Austin/Taker is a (6/10) as well"

[8.0] "As a fan of Attitude Era WWF, I really enjoy this show. I truly believe this PPV was the peak of the mountain we call the Attitude Era. It marked the end of the original Austin vs McMahon feud, the end of the Austin vs Undertaker feud, and was officially the beginning of Triple H being a World Title contender (his original I am the game promo was on the pre-show Sunday Night Heat). Sure, the Attitude Era continued on for a few more years, but this really stands out as the end of the first half of it to me. Aside from my feelings on that though, I thought the First Blood Match main event between Austin and Taker was really fun, if not a bit overbooked. The Iron Circle Match was new and different (watch for Kurt Angle as an extra, months before his debut). The Hardcore Title Match was fun, but pretty much your typical1999 WWF Hardcore match. Was nice to see a strap match, and there was a ton of title changes on this show, which I know isnt necessarily appealing to some people, but at least you cant say it was an uneventful show. If theres anything negative for me to say about this show its that as fun as it is, there isnt really any great wrestling matches on it. Plenty of entertaining matches, but youre not gonna find any five star bouts on here (though most people are aware not to expect too many of those matches during this era). At the end of the day, if you like the Attitude Era then you should really enjoy this show. If you dont like the Attitude Era, this probably isnt for you, because as I said before, this is without a doubt peak Attitude Era."

[2.0] "It got saved from the WrestleMania XV levels of bad only because of the main event, but feces with caviar are still feces. So yeah, Austin vs Taker was the only decent brawl on this show, mainly because it felt important and the fans were losing their minds near the finish, but everything else just sucked. Rock and HHH threw the stipulation out of the window midway through, Boss Man vs Snow was the worst hardcore garbage match I've seen so far in WWF and Shamrock vs Blackman was just silly. Tag Team Titles match was a No DQ Match but you still had to tag each other for whatever reason (which they ignored anyway), Show vs Kane just happened and D-Lo couldn't get a decent match out of Mideon. Jarett and Edge tried, but of course they had to have Debra involved for the virgin audience, while DX vs DX was just okay, nothing out of ordinary. These Attitude Era shows are such chores that I can't believe people are nostalgic for them."

[6.0] "Two matches fought mostly or completely away from the crowd spoiled the atmosphere for this event, despite several of the matches being decent. Fortunately it picked up again towards the end, and the last three matches were fun if not exactly technical masterpieces. A patchy show, but overall the better side of the Attitude Era, not least because the focus was on the matches rather than anything else."

[5.0] "Solid show capped off with a good main event. There's a ton of title changes early on in the show which helps the show feel like a big deal. Only things I wouldn't watch are Kane/Show and Dlo/Mideon but at least Kane took a gorilla press bump in their match making for one exciting moment. Matches ranked best to worst: Austin/Taker ***1/2, Rock/Triple H ***1/4, Edge/Jarrett ***, Acolytes/Hardy's **3/4, hardcore match **3/4, Dogg & Pac/Chyna & Gunn **1/2, Shamrock/Blackman ** brown/Mideon*, show/Kane 1/2*,"

[7.0] "Pretty good PPV overall, tons more good than bad which is saying a lot compared to plenty of other WWE ppvs in '99. First four matches ending in title changes doesn't happen often and it helps make this PPV feel a bit more of a big time event (even if D'Lo Brown/Mideon was a boring as f**k match, at least Mideon wasn't champion anymore). Opener's a lot of fun with a nice swerve mid match to boot (***), tag title match is fun for the most part if a little dull in other parts (**1/2), decent hardcore and tag match and the last two matches give the event a good boost in quality. Skip the euro, Iron circle and Big Show/Kane match and you should have a decent two hours of wrestling. When it comes to the attitude era match quality wise, take what you can get."

Triple H vs The Rock is great especially for the strap match. This time rules are not that stupid but even hardcore and we have many cool spots with strap. Main event isn't something awesome but this is a very good match with a great story."

[6.0] "An okay event with many title changes and two good main events, Triple H vs The Rock is an intense 20 minutes fight where HHH has his opportunity to go to the main event status. Steve Austin vs Undertaker is a confusing brawl, but it works fine as a heated battle, with some run-ins. Edge vs Jarrett and Al Snow vs Big Boss Man are both enjoyable, the rest of the event is at low standards, Big Show vs Kane continues to be unwatchable."

[3.0] "If you're into the Attitude Era, this event is for you! It has pretty much all of the Attitude Era faves going at it in what I'm sure some find intriguing match-ups. I, on the other hand, can't stand most of these acts. Even the lauded main events of Triple H vs. The Rock and Austin vs. Undertaker were only okay. Of course, I don't particularly enjoy Triple H or The Undertaker, so that probably hurts it for me personally."
