[0.0] "Plain and simple. THE SHOW SHOULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED! The police should have forced the show to end to investigate this! Whether you like some of the wrestlers or not. I was proud of them all for coming out to wrestle but by their body language. They looked heartbroken and have no intention on wrestling where they a friend and co-worker die in there. RIP Owen Hart. Forever missed. Vince McMahon should have cared about the being of his employers more than money! The fans would have been completely understood after witnessing someone dying."
[0.0] "This show is one of the worst of all time and it all comes down to the Owen Hart tragedy. It completely altered the show and ruined every match because the show should've been stopped because how could the talent focus on their matches when they know their friend is dead. Fuck VKM for letting this show continue and for putting Owen up there in the first place. R.I.P Owen and fuck this show."
[3.0] "Since you're reading this page right now, you know what happened this night. I don't need to explain. The work that went on in the ring this night wasn't stellar at all, but it was surprisingly passable for the headspace the competitors was in. You're not missing any gems on this night, but I will absolutely say these men and women were able to be professionals and do their job despite where their head was. The real question is, should the show have gone on? And that's a question I feel I can't answer. I can only grade the show that was presented to me. It's a show that will forever live in infamy. Thank you for all of the memories you left me with, Owen."
[0.0] "The Owen Hart incident. One of the greatest wrestlers of his time had lost his life in this event, because of the negligence of Vince McMahon. After Owen Hart had lost his life, the event should have ended immediately, but the Vince McMahon had the utter AUDACITY to keep the show going, like nothing even happened, very literally BRUSHING OWEN HART'S DEATH UNDER THE RUG. The event was never made public again, but frankly, it does not matter if any of the matches were good or not, because of what had happened to Owen Hart, it is impossible to rate this event any higher than a zero."
[3.0] "Some shows get rated higher than the quality of the wrestling for a variety of reasons (Tribute Shows, Final Episodes, Special Returns).. this show does the opposite of that. Before we consider the wrestling, the incident that took the life of Owen Hart is one of the biggest tragedies of modern wrestling. The decision to continue with the show is one that is near universally disagreed with, and that is the base of the majority of these reviews. Credit must go to the wrestlers and commentary team for being able to continue after witnessing such an event. When it comes to reviewing the wrestling, it is of a poor standard. The opening tag match is the best of the lot, followed by a solid hardcore match. The mixed tag match is horrendous, which is sad as I am a Jeff Jarrett mark! Nothing past the first two gets a rating higher than 5 for me here. A poor show with a dark mark in the history of the WWF."
[1.0] "A very hard show to rank. After the Owen Hart incident, it was hard not to worry for him for the rest of the show. I will say that the first two matches before that were decent. They weren't great, but they made sure the show wasn't a complete disaster from start to finish. But the fact that the show kept going because Vince still believes that is what Owen would have wanted is like sweeping a corpse under the rug. A sad day in wrestling indeed."
[0.0] "What can you even say? There is no chance in hell this show should've happened beyond the tragic death of Owen Hart. Totally avoidable and just sad, you have to give this a 0 or no rating, there's simply no other option. At least the Hart family seems to be doing as okay as you could be in all of this"
[0.0] "There's two parts to this review for reasons that are obvious to anyone that knows its history. First we get two regular matches. The Tag title bout has a fun start with Xpac and D'lo. Kane also gets quite a few good moments, but it is a bit over long and henry doesn't add anything (5/10) Snow and Holly had another hardcore brawl. It was the weakest of the three PPV singles match they had, but I still found it enjoyable (6/10) After that the Owen Tragedy happens and every match gets dragged down a little because of it. I'll just rate them quickly Mixed tag match (1/10) Gunn vs. Road Dogg (2/10) Union vs Corporate Ministry (4/10) Rock vs. Triple H (4/10) Austin vs. Taker (4/10) The rating for the show just considering the matches and segments would be a 4/10 from me. Not good but not terrible, which is in the range for a lot of PPV's in this era. However I can't rate this anything other than a ZERO just for the fact that Vince decided to keep the show running, not only after Hart fell, but also after they knew he had passed away. The wrestlers and commentators tried their best to keep the show going, but they Should've never been put into that situation."
[0.0] "Vince McMahon continuing the show after Owen's tragic death is all anybody will remember from this atrocity of a show. Vince McMahon will burn in hell for allowing the show to continue after his fall. I miss Owen to this day and he never should have been forced to do the stunt that ended his life. May Owen Hart rest in peace."
[5.0] "Im gonna rate the show on the in ring action which is 5/10 overall. Starts well with the first 2 matches but sadly after the tragic accident the show should have been stopped and if the wrestlers after this were traumatised(and Im sure they were) its hard to justify putting them out there."
[0.0] "Continuing the show after Owen's death is one of the most disgusting things that Vincent Kennedy McMahon has ever done in wrestling, and that's saying a lot. How anyone thought "the show must go on" after a tragedy like that is beyond me, and you could tell looking at the faces of the wrestlers that they didn't want to be there, and for good reason. I mean, even The Undertaker of all people was visibly shaken and on the verge of tears."
"It's hard to even rate something like this. The wrestlers were clearly emotional about this amd Vince made the show go on. I see every reason why the WWF got sued after this."
"I will not rate this show, because 1. a person died in this event and 2.wrestlers were obviously affected. The show seemed to be like the standard was in 1999 WWF as a B PPV, but you can clearly see in the eyes that they didn't want to be there after Owen died. Hope Owen rests in peace and Martha is peaceful with herself"
[0.0] "A show that should have ended instantly after a terrible tragedy occurred in the history of professional wrestling, but alas Vince McMahon decided that after what happened, the best solution would be to continue PPV, which makes it just disgusting. It's a pity for the wrestlers who had to perform after the death of Owen Hart, it was just unbearable to watch."
[0.0] "I don't really care if anything on this show was any good. Hell, if every match after Owen's fall was a 10/10 classic, it wouldn't change the fact that this show should NOT have continued. The moment Owen fell, the show should have been stopped and cancelled, and no one should have ever entered that ring afterwards. I couldn't imagine working a match after seeing someone who was close with everyone in the locker room die in the most horrific way possible. From Jeff Jarret, to the Undertaker, you could just see in their eyes how out of it they were. I consider this one of the worst shows in WWE's history simply because it continued. Shameful."
[2.0] "Bless D-Lo & Henry vs Kane & X-Pac for saving this PPV from WrestleMania XV levels of bad. I mean it's not that everything else wasn't on this level, but at least this match was very good, probably one of the best WWF Tag Team Matches of that era. The rest though is just awful. I can't stand watching another Holly vs Snow garbage match, Mixed Tag falls apart once Val and Jeff let women wrestle and Gunn vs Dogg doesn't feel like a grudge match at all. Elimination Match is a weird thing to have on this show, but at least Big Show had a nice showing of his talent - apart from that it wasn't anything to go back to. Rock and Triple H have a really bad bout with endless brawl outside of the ring and the out of nowhere finish, while the main event is a surprise when it comes to how much stuff they kept in the ring, but it's not a good match. Austin has to slow down for Taker and McMahons' drama is just irritaiting at this point. Awful PPV, not to mention Owen's horrible death."
[1.0] "A man needlessly died at this event. His friends were made to go out and perform as if nothing happened. And it couldn't have happened to a less deserving person. The wrestling doesn't matter at all, the fact this show continued will always be a stain on the history of wrestling. I don't care about contracts or business agreements, I don't care about the thought of some of the attendees or PPV viewers being angry that the show ended early, a tragedy such as this one is more important than fucking wrestling. The single point goes to the men and women who braved the circumstances and keep their cool carrying out the orders of that manipulative, compassionless chickenshit rapist Vince McMahon Jr"
[1.0] "There is no circumstance in which a show like this should continue after one of its performers dies unexpectedly during the show. The solitary point goes to the wrestlers, commentators, ring staff, and everyone else forced to deal with Vince's decision as they grit their teeth and continued the show without breaking down."
"The pay-per-view started off strong, but obviously, given the tragedy that happened here, the momentum dwindled and made it borderline unwatchable - to no fault of the performers and attendees who had to witness the demise of one of the greatest superstars in that era. It almost felt like emotional torture watching the staff and attendees try to hold it together for the next hour or so of the broadcast. I cannot, in any capacity, give this show a rating."
"I can't believe they continued the ppv. Undertaker's reaction to the blood stains really tell everything there is to tell about the decision being made. He never looked comfortable before and during the match. Also , people defending vince are really screwed in their heads. The guy has made many bad decisions in his career but they can't admit any of it."
"Great pay-per-view. Vince did a great job of handling things and there are just a bunch of "smart" marks running their mouths in the comments thinking they know how to run a show more safely than one of the greatest promoters in the history of the business. Maybe they think Dave Meltzer will give them a job at the Wrestling Observer dirt-sheet gossip rag. Either way, great show, long live WWE."
[0.0] "It gets a zero automatically for what happens here. The show should've been stopped after Owen fell. Disgusting and greedy decision to keep it running"
[6.0] "The show was ok but suffered from a lack of a really good match and this was always going to be the case after they witnessed such a tragic event."
[6.0] "I'm gonna look at this PPV objectively and think it's a bit underrated and I give an extra point as the wrestlers were never going to be at their best after witnessing something so tragic. Bad decision to continue the PPV but I guess it's happened now and i'm just judging on the quality of the matches."
[3.0] "The day the kayfabe died. This PPV was the end result of the stupid rafter repelling stunts that had become so common place in the past 2 years and it showed what happens when a company gets lazy with safety checks. The show started like a typical Attitude Era ppv, but after what happened to Owen, it just destroyed everyone involved (except for McMahon who thought the best thing to do was to push on through instead of just cancelling the show and issuing refunds) and everything that followed post Owen incident was just mediocre performances from a staff desperately trying to hold it together. I'm going 3 stars out of 10. I wanted to go for a dud, but I feel bad for the wrestlers who were forced to go on and basically kill PPV time until the slot was used up."
[0.0] "None of the matches at this show can overcome the somber mood because of the death of Owen Hart. Most of the matches were not good either possibly just because of what the performers had just witnessed. Terrible decision by WWE to continue the show also they let the confederate flag in the audience be shown so much and even on Peacock today is also very bad."
[0.0] "Up there with Benoit as one of the worst things to ever happen in the industry. The WWE's scrambling to explain themselves in retrospect is revolting. They were correct in that it would be a hassle to refund everybody's tickets and some people would be upset. However, that's not an excuse to carry on after the most beloved man in the history of the industry died brutally in front of the crowd. Inconvenience would have been a small price to pay to show Owen the respect that he deserved. As for people complaining, fuck them. You don't need them to support your product. If the price of a ticket is all you need to get them to never come back, good riddance to them. Same goes for the pay-per-view provider. If, during the same time period, someone died in the ring during a Lennox Lewis or Vitali Klitschko card, the people airing the pay-per-view wouldn't dare say a word about it if the rest of the card was canceled. I don't see why it wouldn't be the same for wrestling if you made it abundantly clear that this wasn't a silly storyline, this was real, and a real human being really just died. This was a true low point for the industry as a whole, not just WWE."
[0.0] "I can't rate this higher because this is just a net negative for the world. I've now watched basically Owen's entire WWF run and can easily say that he's one of the best workers they had. He consistently put on great matches, he worked his ass off for them, and he was just an all around great guy. Watching this really felt so different than how I thought about him before. Watching the end, even with it all edited out on Peacock and just a nice little message at the beginning, this broke my heart. I cried for most of the show. I have a need to watch everything so going through all these PPVs I didn't realize this show would make me feel like it did but it hit me like a brick once I started to see it effect everyone involved. It's sad, sure, but this time it felt personal. I never met him yet he has been there for me on so many of these shows, he's been a highlight for ring work and character stuff, it's like losing an old friend. Sure, he's been gone for most of my life, but this is the moment where he was truly gone for me. I ended my run with him officially by watching this. I can always go back to the old stuff but now it will be so different. This has become one of the hardest wrestling deaths for me due to this journey of watching WWF so chronologically, whereas before it was just a sad thing that happened to a great wrestler. It feels more personal now. I love you Owen, thank you for everything."
"No rating or match reviews for this one, it's not relevant. Everybody knows this is the event wher Owen Hart tragically fell to his death, and the only thing worth noting is there's nothing here good enough to really make it worth watching through that. Maybe the main event as Taker didn't have that many title runs given the length of his career, but it's not a great match even considering the circumstances. One point that needs to be cleared up, that gets repeated very often - it was NOT Owen's blood on the canvas while wrestling went on, that came from a pre-show spot between the Brood and the Hardy Boyz, and was likely fake blood just given how much was used. I must also give credit to Jim Ross for the way he handled reporting the new of Hart's injury and death, no-one could have handled it better."
[0.0] "This show does not really need to be rated. It is not about points here, it is about one of the best humans on earth who died in such a needless and tragic, horrifying way that could of been so easily prevented. It is not a fun event to own or re-watch or review but I felt like putting it out there to give people who may not watch it some insight. The review obviously is controversial and not for everyone."
[0.0] "Can't even fathom giving this PPV above a 0. The very infamous tragedy that occurred at this event was so avoidable, and it was so necessary for this PPV to be stopped, it's baffling and infuriating that it wasn't. Most of the matches on this match-list shouldn't even exist, these matches were happening on what was basically a crime scene. Automatically one of the worst wrestling PPVs to ever exist."
[0.0] "It was a DISGUSTING decision to continue the show after that infamous incident. I really sunk into the soul the moment when Undertaker literally try to don't cry when he looks into the corner where the dying Owen lay"
[3.0] "This show will forever be remembered for only one thing: the tragic and senseless death of Owen Hart. And it will probably forever be debated as to whether the show should have continued after the tragedy occurred (it shouldn't have, IMO). But in assigning a rating, I will try to stick to what was presented in the ring throughout the event rather than focusing on the tragedy. Overall, this was very much a filler PPV. Taker-Austin and Rock-HHH were solid outings, though both matches were done better elsewhere, and while the rest of the card didn't have any outright duds, nothing else stood out as special either. Whatever one does think about the show continuing after the tragedy, one does certainly have to give credit to the performers for being able to carry out the rest of the show as effectively as they did."
[4.0] "Very hard show to rate but I try to be objective. It's just an okay PPV for that time. However death of Owen Hart made it very sad and unenjoyable. R. I. P. Owen Hart"
(2*) 5. Das Elimination Match war in Ordnung. (2 1/4*) 6. The Rock gegen HHH war dann doch enttäuschend. (1 3/4*) 7.
[2.0] "As a Wrestling fan, I have to answer a major question when I rate an event. Did I have fun while watching it? No, it's impossible, it was too sad, I can't believe they did not stop the show, it's a pain to watch the arena in silence that tries to get entertainment without wanting it. The event is also transitory, nothing really happens except for the main event which is pretty surprising and unexpected, and the match quality is at low standards. Not really bad and once again Al Snow vs Hardcore Holly is fun to watch, but the entertainment stops there. I like to rewatch shows but I won't see it again."
[0.0] "Horrible. The event should've been stopped after Owen Hart died in the ring. Nothing worthwhile happened wrestling-wise and the important stuff -- like Jeff Jarrett's interview -- is cut from the WWE Network version."
Möge Owen Hart in Frieden ruhen."
