[6.0] "To start us off we get a replay of a previous segment where Tony Atlas is bench pressing 550lbs. This is used as a device to compare these wrestlers to some professional footballers who had set some sort of achievement previously - I do enjoy the way Watts enforces the idea that these are real athletes, and some of the best in the world at that. At the top of the card we get Ted DiBiase defending his North American title against Tiger Conway Jr with some footage from Houston Texas - with DiBiase on commentary to give us a play by play. This results in us getting the best match on the show. DiBiase manipulating events on commentary to show us hes the good guy, hes great behind a microphone DiBiase - and to his credit he doesnt bury Conway. Its a really decent match between the two men, it feels competitive - though with DiBiases commentary the outcome is obvious. Next we get Kamala whose services have just been purchased by Akbar who gives a fiery promo - vowing Kamala is the only man who can unmask Stagger Lee. But first Kamala is up against against El Silencio, who he unmasks after the squash - Akbar claiming theyre gonna be collecting masks like scalps. This is a fun use for Kamala Im not against. The Davidson brothers square off against Mike Sharpe and Mr Olympia. This makes for a fine match, with an ending that the audience really got behind. Some good double team action between Sharpe and Olympia. Wrestling 2 goes against Marty Lunde. Its always fun to watch Wrestling 2 just for the crowds investment in the man. 2 manages to get all his stuff in and its a fine match foe what it is. Bob Roop against Mike Bond is next, its nice to see Roop back on Mid-South - and the promise that he will be on commentary next week which is always nice to hear too. He gets the victory in an easily won match. Matsuda and Yatsu team up against Horner and Cobra - unfortunately the match with the most potential on the card gets cut off and ends in a no contest due to tv time. It goes exactly how youd expect it to, with Horner and Cobra being thrown around, and slapped about. Overall this was a decent showing by Mid-South, the talent on the card is unreal. The return of Roop and Akbar is very much so welcomed, and the show is stacked with wrestling from top to bottom. The wrestling quality is decently consistent and at times is really good."
