Still a long way to go before the women's division is worth watching so I don't mind the match being cancelled. Solid way to end the year. The main storyline is fantastic at this point and provides for some great promos and segments. We also get a damn good hardcore match and a solid match with Hunter and Shamrock. I think there was something with Mark Henry and the whole Chyna thing, but my brain pretty much blocks out that. The ending is great too, with McMahon and HBK. |
| 7 | 21.08.2024 | Ruthless Attitude | 7.0 | Good episode to end a very strong year of Raw episodes and it's actually the third week Austin has been given time out, but there's still plenty going on here where Shawn Michaels turns face at the end of the show when he superkicks Vince McMahon with McMahon announcing at the start of the show that he was going to fire him as commissioner. The matches are mostly just okay, but they at least continue the ongoing storyline with the Corporation targeting DX and Mankind with their newest recruit, Kane was noticeably hesitant whenever he is ordered to destroy them. The Road Dogg Hardcore Title run has been really fun to watch and he has a strong main event here against Mankind where The Rock hits a brutal Rock Bottom on the concrete to set up an inevitable rematch. It's not as strong as some other 1998 shows, but it's still very good overall. |

Most of the corporation segments that happen during this show are fun. Mankind vs Road Dogg was a good hardcore main event, and the last segment with Vince and Shawn was highly entertaining. |

Shawn Michaels hat als Commissioner seinen Sohn nicht geschützt und soll darum die Konsequenzen tragen. Auch Foley wird erst mal gebömmelt. Der Chef hat also eine Agenda. Das erste Match ist eine einzige Facepalm. Lawler ruft noch, dass es im Hadcrore Match keine DQ gibt, im gleichen Moment entscheidet der Ref auf DQ. Übrigens auch direkt in der Partie danach. Sable bekommt eine Rose und Luna in disguise. Aber die waren doch mal dicke. Es folgt die dritte DQ im dritten Match, was nicht wirklich originell rüberkommt. Dann siegen Goldust & Blackman, aber was Schlaues fällt mir dazu auch nicht ein. Das Match zwischen Triple H und Ken Shamrock als Vertreter ihrer jeweiligen Fraktionen ist zunächst deftig, dann chaotisch vorgetragen, und darum knapp okay. Chyna nordet Terri und Jackie ein, weil sie ja doch irgendwie Mark Henry nett findet. Die Corporation spielt Billy Gunn übel mit, und so kommt es auch bei der folgenden Partie zu keinem anständigen Ergebnis, da die DX sich das nicht mit ansehen mag. Natürlich bekommt HBK am Ende die Quittung und wird gefeuert, aber er bezahlt per Sweet Chin Music und die Show geht off. Die Vendetta Story mit Vince ist eigentlich okay, aber andererseits sind sechs Disqualifikationen aus sieben Matches echt eine Zumutung. Hauchzart ausreichend, weil der Mainer ganz okay ist. |

Das erste Match wird gleich mal unterbrochen und es gibt dann einige Ankündigungen für Matches, das passt so. Al Snow ist immer noch voller Blut und hier gibt's nen netten Brawl. Luna zerstört Sable, das gefällt den Oddities aber nicht. Bossman gegen X-Pac endet im Chaos, okay. Vince bereitet sich für den Rumble und Austin vor. Ich muss ganz ehrlich sagen, dass mir gar nicht aufgefallen, dass Austin jetzt die letzten RAW-Ausgaben gar nicht mehr anwesend war. Severn ist wieder da und kostet Owen gleich mal das Match. Die Acolytes entführen Denis Knight, was da wohl kommt. Ordentliches Match zwischen Shamrock und Triple H, danach gibt's natürlich einen fetten Brawl. Das ganze Zeugs um Mark Henry und die Frauen interessiert nun nicht wirklich. Godfather wird vermöbelt, Kane nimmt den Platz ein, Billy Gunn bekommt es ab. Rocky am Kommentar im Main Event ist klasse und er kostet natürlich Mankind den Sieg. HBK wird zur Rede gestellt und am Ende gefeuert, da kommt noch was. Durchschnittliche Ausgabe. |

Not much wrestling but it did the job by advancing angles, though not much has been said about the Royal Rumble. But the Corporate shenanigans heat up and now Steve Austin lately means he will be around sooner rather than later. I am finally starting to get into the angle. I like the fact that they are not only douches but strong heels. However, the interference at times is a bit much but as long as it advances the story I am all for it. Unfortunately, the mid card is dull; I cannot really think of one feud that stands out. However, the show as a totality was entertaining. |
