"The match ups made me tired, then some excitement with the cold stone bits inbetween overall really dissapointed. a Six rating is fair in my opinion from the overall showing. Jobba the hut showing"

[8.0] "This is like peak '98 Raw. Ridiculous, exciting, extremely entertaining. HBK being appointed commish is still a strange decision kayfabe-wise, but I wouldn't be complaining about getting HBK back on the screen. The light heavyweight title continues to be a joke though."

[7.0] "It's a good show overall, but I didn't love it as much as others as I just found the whole angle where Undertaker kidnaps a sedated Austin and tries to embalm him was just way too over the top and I also found it very distracting when you had matches involving fan favourites like The Godfather and the New Age Outlaws when all this was happening and nobody seemed to be affected by what was going on. I will admit that it's a personal taste thing, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. That said I really enjoyed the rest of the show as the match quality here was pretty decent with a really good Mankind/Bossman/Shamrock triple threat and The Rock vs X-Pac was a solid main event. Vince McMahon brings in Shawn Michaels in as the brand new commissioner, who has authority to make decisions independently and his first act to give X-Pac a title shot. Shawn of course reveals he is in league with the Corporation at the end of the night when he betrayed his DX comrades and turns on X-Pac. The LHW title officially becomes a laughing stock title when J.O.B squad help Duane Gill beat Christian."

[8.0] "Very fun and eventful episode here. The Undertaker trying to embalm an unconscious Stone Cold was definitely crazy and ridiculous, but it was so entertaining. And the introduction of Shawn Michaels as the new WWF Commissioner as well as him turning on X-Pac was amazing."

[8.0] "You dont really watch these 1998/99 Attitude Era episodes of Raw for the match quality as it wasnt until 2000 that the WWF really started caring about that stuff again, with Raw mostly being made up of short matches with screwy finishes during this Era of the show. It was a very effective formula at the time of course, but it hasnt held up that well to the ravages of time in my eyes. Thats just me though, I know a lot of folks still really enjoy watching this and think it was the peak of wrestling, which just goes to show that art is subjective I guess. Mostly, youre watching these for the Sportz Entertainment, and if you happen to get a decent match once in a while then thats a bonus. This show had a couple of fun decent matches and the storyline advancement was present elsewhere on the show, making for a solid 2 hours of television. Im not sure this quite deserves the really high rating it has here on Cage Match, but it was certainly a decent episode of Raw is War, especially by 1998 standards. It was certainly a more dynamic product than what WCW was producing at the time, which was why the WWF was winning."

[7.0] "This was fun. The Undertaker trying to embalm Stone Cold storyline, I have absolutely no recollection of at all so that was a brand new watch to me. Shawn returning and joining The Corporation was cool, but you could kinda see it coming. Some fun matches overall on this card."

Undertaker abducts Austin and tries to murder him but luckily Kane comes to save the day and Austin easily fights off Paul Bearer. The main was ok with X-Pac getting in some nice hope spots but Jr commentary after Shawn joins the corporation, and during the match in general was fantastic."

[8.0] "Good Raw with many cool moments. Shawn Michaels became new commissioner at the beginning. Him joining The Corporation is a great twist. Some nice matches are here. Howewer this is nothing comparing to Taker trying to kill Austin. Yes, it's very dumb and unrealistic but damn that is so much entertaining."

[10.0] "One of the most insane episodes of Raw ever. All kinds of mayhem in this one. Undertaker trying to commit pre-taped murder on TV, return of HBK, JOB squad factoring very importantly in a couple of matches and JR and King's amazing commentary. It also featured Terri Runnels looking hotter than ever."

[10.0] "better than last week and that is due to the better in ring product. But seriously. I feel as if I need a dozen Ritalin and bottle of Vodka to figure out what the fuck is going on. So many fucking swerves, which I should have saw coming because why else hire HBK as Commish? He will only be around off and on for the next year and that is a good thing because he is only tolerable in short stretches. The embalming angle is so stupid. Now murder is so common that the camera crew willingly follows along. I know it is not real but they try to make it more realistic and it just insults my and hopefully everyone else's intelligence with lame shit like that. I may lower my rating as I am getting pissed. WWF was so fun a couple of month's ago and it is fading fast; honestly how is this destroying Nitro in the ratings? Yes WCW has issues but damn, not even WCW insults your intelligence with this much asinine crap and the fans cheer for dipshits and the in ring product really sucks outside the PPV. Fuck it I am changing my score: * Yes one fucking star. Christ there is so much potential here, but then again what do I know? WWF is winning the War handily at this point. Nitro gets things rolling and bails but still chugs along but RAW is starting to fall of a cliff. Too much McMahon for my tastes and too many stupid stunts and near death crap week after week. Oh and Hawk last week. but none the least a great raw"
